Expérience fantastique: I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness for a while now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best gyms around! The owners are absolutely amazing—always friendly, approachable, and genuinely cares about their members. The equipment is top-notch and always clean and well-maintained, which makes every workout session enjoyable. Whether you’re a beginner or a fitness enthusiast, this gym has everything you need. I love working out here and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to get fit!

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been going to this gym since I was 15 and I’m now 23. I’ve tried other places like GoodLife and the other big corporation gyms and they don’t compare to the OG planet fitness. It’s family owned so they genuinely care about their customers and offer extremely fair prices for everyone! The gym has everything you will need to get in great shape, as well as the included hot tub, pool, and steam room which are great after a good workout! Everyone that works and works out there has always been super helpful and respectful which makes this gym feel like home! I couldn’t imagine going to another gym!

Expérience négative: ****Reply****When we spoke on the phone after I waited an hour to receive a call back. The person that answered the phone originally said that they didn't work at the facility and that the owner was on their way and would call when they arrived. I do not appreciate being lied to. It is not misinformation when I was told that there was availability but when the call was returned that the bookings were gone. If you don't like how your "volunteer" handled things hire some employees. Owner of this business is unorganized and unprofessional. We called in to use coupons and we were told we could only book the day that we wish to use it. No one was avaliable to answer our questions for nearly an hour, then when the owner got back to me he told me that we had to book in advance. (We tried to do this and we're told we had to wait) if you are to offer promotions for your company live up to those expectations. Owner of this business is unorganized and unprofessional.

But because I have a membership with planet fitness I'm not welcome. Not a good look on the company to be swearing at potential customers on the phone. I'm working in red deer so was hoping to workout during my off time. Take your money somewhere else.

Expérience fantastique: Have came here when I was in my 20s and still do in my 40s. Have been to multiple gyms in numerous cities and this is by far my favorite and most likely always will be. Great areas and equipment, good people and great prices. Easy access and having the hot tub/steam room for after is a great bonus.

Expérience fantastique: Now before I start, I have to specify the planet fitness I'm talking about is the private club in Red Deer Alberta, Canada, this is not the corporate planet fitness everywhere else....they have no affiliation with each other. Its pretty good, the equipment is well maintained and the owners are nice and there are no crowds.

Expérience fantastique: I Highly recommend visiting this gym, as I did over the weekend of Feb. 24th, and 25th. I LOVE this gym, it is a "retro" feel and equipment that I have not seen in quite awhile. I had a great time with multiple visits to this gym during my stay in the hotel. I then ended up talking to the owner Shawn Freeborn, and had an incredible conversation with him. He is very down to earth and genuinely cares about people. We talked about the "new planet fitness" that is trying to force him out. The new planet fitness needs to wake up, offering Shawn such a small dollar figure to fold up. Shawn and his gym in the Radisson Hotel in Red Deer is the real deal. I urge everyone to support Shawn, he has worked hard to build what he has, and deserves to stay. Expérience fantastique: I stay at the Raddison every time I am in town for work which is often. The gym is the reason I stay at the hotel when I am in town. The guys running it are amazing to deal with and always nice seeing them. Solid gym with great equipment.

Expérience fantastique: A little hidden gem in Red Deer, a great alternative to the big box gyms. Free to go if you are a guest at the Radisson. Access to the pool, hot tub, and steam room included.

Positive environment and all the equipment (machines and free weights) a beginner to advanced fitness enthusiast needs. I’ve been a member at city operated and large franchise gyms in the past. This gym is by far the best experience.. after 1year+ as a member, there is no substitute for this gym.

Expérience fantastique: This gym is an absolute hidden gem. By far the best hotel gym I have ever been to. The hotel isn’t the best but the gym makes the hotel better. The guys that run it are awesome too and super nice. Highly recommend to anyone. I would stay at this hotel again just because of the gym. Thanks Planet fitness.

Expérience fantastique: Planet fitness is the best gym in Red Deer Love it. Being my gym since I moved from Calgary I love to use the steam room after my workout. All year around no days off from 4:30am to 11pm EVERYDAY.

While visiting family in Red Deer in November I was looking for a good gym that would accommodate my brief stay of 2 weeks. Upon arrival I was met by the friendly and knowledgeable owner who was readily available, provided me with a more than reasonable rate and took me for a tour of the place. I called to ask and was corrected by whomever answered the phone and I am not from this area and wasn't sure so I called. They were rather ignorant about it but I just want to make sure people know this has nothing to do with the planet fitness across Canada and United States. A day pass offer would have been a way to get someone come in still to try out the facility but no worries. Leaving the review so others know these details in advance.

Expérience négative: I’m a planet fitness member. I came here to train, the door was locked and I could see people training inside. There is absolutely no way for me to scan my bar code to get in, I called both phone numbers several times and surprisingly nobody answered even though it was right in the middle of business hours. This is one of the most unprofessional things I’ve ever seen from a business. I had to drive to another gym and pay for a drop in fee. This place definitely needs some serious reevaluation of how they manage things.

Expérience fantastique: I am a new member, but a very, very excited and happy one. I came here after a bad experience at a gym I felt would be my "forever gym" and these guys welcomed me with open arms and made me feel accepted and treated me like a human, not just greedy about what was in my wallet. They were even very sweet to my little girl who was with me at sign up. I had my first workout there tonight and the enviornment is just awesome. Very laid back, everything you need is available to you, the other members were extremely friendly. I enjoyed it very much and really look forward to achieving my goals here. The price is incredible as well which made it a huge selling point for me. The only thing that was tricky was getting into the pool/ sauna area. But I just knocked on the door until someone let me in haha. I freaking love it here.

Hand sanitizer and equipment spray bottles were plentiful. This is the best gym I have ever used at a hotel. It rates up there with any gym I have used in the past. Thanks for a great experience.

Expérience fantastique: The best gym I have ever been to and I have seen many gyms. Area is small but very well organized so you can always isolate yourself. I love vibration machine, glute machine and all other leg machines that most gyms dont have but these machines really make a difference. Owner is also very friendly. Hope to be back there again one day.

Expérience négative: Called about prices and if they were related to the states planet fitness, I was sternly told that the Canada brand is saving the world through helping people while the American one somehow contributes to the weight problem. Even though the drastically cheaper option is the american one which in my opinion actually helps reduce obesity by making it accessible to poor people whom statistically are more overweight. I think I get the elitist drift going on over there

Expérience négative: AVOID THIS MERCHANT I have tried canceling my membership 5 times. 3 times in person and twice over the phone, and continue to be charged for a service I wasn’t even able to use during COVID shutdown and am not using now. My only option is to file a chargeback with the bank.

Just called and asked if this location was the same as planet fitness in Saskatchewan and the man who answered replied with “we have no pizza,no bagels and no tootsie rolls” we aren’t an American.... Haha excuse me? That was not my question, also that comment was really aggressive and I truthfully don’t care if you have any food at your location. That is not what I asked you. He then said “I am really busy with clients” and repeated the same rude comment about food ! So guess what you just lost a client, you just pushed me away from signing up. It was a simple question that could have been answered with respect. I will never encourage people to come to your location now, I felt judged from a simple 45 second call.

Expérience fantastique: I've read some equipment is outdated: I would agree, but on the plus side I like working out without a training session to operate equipment. Maintenance takes longer than usual or typical gyms I have belonged to. When you need someone, staff, usually not available, but when they are, super friendly. Also, I hate customer service or training sessions being pushed. When I workout, typically, leave me alone. This particular establishment has a lower than average DB factor. Pleasant! Pricing is average as amenities are usually out of order. Sauna has been out for a while now. Overall awesome place.

Expérience fantastique: By far the best gym I've ever seen located in a hotel. Everything you need for a solid workout: dumbbells up to 80lbs, plenty of flat and inclined benches, Olympic barbells, enough 45 plates for anything, cardio equipment, any machine you'd need, etc.

Expérience fantastique: The equipment is a little bit older, but there is good variety available and is typically in good repair. Not usually super busy, do not usually have to wait long for access on a specific machine. The staff is always very friendly, and having access to the hot tub and steam room is just icing on the cake. In my opinion, this gym is much more enjoyable then some of the larger chains that have been popping up in Red Deer.

Expérience fantastique: I have been working out for over 38 years, yes I know this gives away my age (54) but I have to say - planet fitness is the best by far.... If you're into cardio, circuit training or simply wanting to have an environment of which to excel and achieve all your weight goals this is the place for you. People that are members are always willing to help you and the staff are extremely educated in all forms of exercise as well as programs that will help you get the most of your workout. Many of you should know that Shawn (owner) has been involved in bodybuilding and nutrition for over 3 decades. He is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of fitness and is a blessing to know. Shawn is unlike any other staff member that you come across in the fitness industry, others care only of money then move on. If anyone is seriously wanting to improve themselves then I would recommend Planet Fitness without hesitation. Being a member gives you more than a membership card, it also provides the best members that are respectful, polite and care about eachother..... All I can say is that it's an experience all in itself, I promise you that you will enjoy it all... Sincerely Ken

Expérience fantastique: I've tried memberships at many different gyms and Planet Fitness is by far my favourite... Don't waste your money at large corporation gyms like Goodlife or World Gym. Planet Fitness has everything these gyms have to offer at a way more reasonable price, and the staff members are way more invested in you and your success. It offers a friendly atmosphere with members that motivate each other, and as a women you feel completely confident working out and using the pool here. I drive in from Lacombe just to come here and would highly recommend this gym if you are in the Central Alberta area!

Expérience fantastique: I really like Planet fitness in Red Deer, The prices are great, the staff is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxed and mature .It is quiet and usually never overcrowded . The setup is not super fancy but its everything a person needs the equipment is nice and exactly what I wanted. The pool area , because it shares with the hotel , is something no other gym can match. I recommend it highly.
