Expérience négative: Signed up for a contract, back in 2017 at the age of 16 (went in by myself). I went to the gym a hand full of times, eventually couldn’t afford it. Tried to cancel the membership and they wouldn’t let me. I eventually stopped paying (not knowing the consequences as a youth). Currently (2024) trying to buy a house, I got told by my bank there’s a file in collections from this gym they put in back in 2020, that has been hurting my credit. I called the gym asking who signed off as a parent/guardian for me, and they have no idea, there’s no file of that. From what I recall I never went in with a parent, they never informed me about the risks that can occur with these contracts. Just putting this out there so everyone can inform there children before they make the same mistake I did.

Expérience fantastique: This is a fantastic gym! A wide variety of classes at different times of the day and as an added perk they have on demand spin classes! I love being able to get a 30 minute cardio workout done in the middle of the day or even prior to one of the weight classes. I also appreciate the personalized targeted workout you get when using the app while doing the on demand classes. I work a lot harder this way! If you are already a member and haven’t tried one of these spin classes, I highly recommend them!

Expérience négative: Just ok. The owners have a big time attitude problem. No idea why. Front desk barely greets you when you walk in. Talk about customer service. Consider other options if it’s available to you. Membership packages are $$ for a small town gym.

Expérience fantastique: As somone whos begginer to the gym community it can feel frustrating at times to go sometimes you have self dought or are insecure or see others lifting onky what you could dream of lifting but I find pepole here care if you wanna test your limits lifting weights & need somone to spot you feel free to ask somone worst case snario you get somone that didn't want to be bothered but will still help you bc they know what it's like to be a begginer to the gym & all the staff are friendly & highly care about your health & your safety there's been times I have lifted weight a staff member didn't really think I could lift & would watch just incase they where right & whe there wrong & see you complete that set they weren't to sure about they smile & are proud In you & you will never find anyone makeing issues in the gym I Ave been going there for 2 & almost a half moths & it feels nothing like ever before you feel safe you feel united & toy feel like toys part or the community witch can leaf to so much more I know for sure I plan on leaving another review next December to update on My view on the gym . . . Expérience fantastique: Awesome gym that is very welcoming, and never super busy which is great because you don't have to wait for machines. 24 hour access to the weight room and sauna which is hard to find in the Rideau Lakes area.

Expérience fantastique: I cannot say enough great things about Functional Performance Fitness. From the moment you walk through the door you are greeted with a friendly smile, a clean environment and a feeling of welcoming that is often absent in other gyms. The team is super empowering, and engaging with their clients. They even host client appreciation outings such as nature hikes! The equipment they have is topnotch, and the group classes are inviting and motivational. I can personally thank the team (especially trainer, Shaq) for helping me right the ship and lose 40 unwanted pounds! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new "home" gym... even those with a commute in, consider this place as it's worth it!

Expérience négative: Went to this gym based on locals saying it’s the best in town. They don’t allow chalk, okay no problem I’ll use straps. I’m deadlifting a moderate weight for reps and I get told not to drop them, meanwhile I placed them down I did not drop them. What are you supposed to do while attempting to build strength in the 3-5 rep range lay the weights down with out a sound? Equipment is broken and unsafe, minimal speciality equipment. I would give this a zero star if I could. Majority of staff is friendly otherwise, so no knock to them.

Expérience fantastique: Amazing workout facility in a quiet corner of Smiths Falls. They have a wide variety of cardio equipment and strength training machines. Group classes are fun and upbeat but can get a little crowded as they are popular (you do need to reserve a spot which is a plus). Upon signing up I received a welcome fitness evaluation, this was a great introduction to my fitness level and what I needed to work on. Staff are friendly and very informative. It has a wide range of equipment, the facility is extremely clean and always well maintained, and the staff is kind, caring, and extremely knowledgable. I'm always greeted when I come in the door and there is constant cleaning being done at all times of the day. I unfortunately have to relocate gyms due to moving and will miss this one so much. Expérience négative: I really liked the gym and especially the classes. Had visited about 6 times until I had a divorce and relocated to Newfoundland. They would not allow me to cancel my contract. They suggested they would speak with a new member to see if they wanted to buy out my remained contract. I never heard from them and frankly forgot. Until I heard from Wiggins Adjustment which is a debt collector. They even said that was Not very functional of them. I understand contracts but there should be extenuating circumstances. Very disappointed in how they handled this.

Our gym membership cancellation policy states that any contracts that are cancelled before the end of the term will be charged a cancellation fee. But in your case we made an exception and only required that you pay some of the missed payments instead of the full amount as we understood your dilema and wanted to do a kind gesture.I'm sure you can appreciate the amount of administrative work that is put into tracking missed payments and contacting customers especially when contact information is not updated. We did our best to contact you with the information that we had and I'm sorry to hear that you felt it wasn't enough.Should you be back in the Smiths Falls area in the future we would love to have you back!Yours in Health!Natatia Gemmell
Expérience fantastique: Functional Performance Fitness in Smiths Falls is a great gym. It is located in the Settlers Ridge Centre Mall with a 24 hour access on 7 days a week so you can train whenever you want. You have a free parking lot in front of the gym with a disable entrance. The gym is family owned with a great gym culture. For the staff and trainers it is important to take care of the gym members in there needs in health and fitness. On the training floor you have state of the art training machines, free weights, all kinds of cardio machines, equipment for functional training and recovery tools. I like the fact that you can work with professional Personal Trainers on the floor or in a private room. There is also a room for group classes with a wide selection of different group workouts for all ages and levels. As a Fitness Professional I know what quality and customer service looks like. FPF is a gym from people for people in the community where you have access to professional fitness experts they stay on your side in your journey of health and fitness.

Expérience fantastique: Went in to inquire about the gym and pricing and was greeted by two friendly staff. I was offered a great tour of the gym, and then we went over payment options. The gym is open 24 hours too, which is a convenient plus. I came back later and signed up! Great selection of weights, equipment, and classes (even includes sauna use) so I'm excited to get going and get in shape!

Expérience fantastique: Functional Performance Fitness is a wonderful gym with great trainers. The gym has everything you need and more. There is great accessory equipment such as their seated hamstring curl. The space is suited for all individual from beginners to expedited gym goers. If you’re interested in checking out the facility Julia (the wonderful individual that will greet you as you come) will help you out. (Little extra tid bit here, every barbell has a centre knurling which is amazing since some gyms only carry barbells that don’t have a centre knurl) Keep on improving everyone! Fitness is a continuous never ending journey.

Expérience fantastique: I moved to the Smith's Falls area two years ago and began a process of reclaiming a lifestyle based on health and fitness. Progress was slow and difficult at first until I joined FPF over a year ago. Due to previous sports related injuries and the aging process in general I gradually developed serious back and neck pain that limited my ability to exercise on a consistent basis. When I heard there was a massage therapist starting to provide treatment at FPF I booked an appointment right away, even though I did not have meaningful results from generic sports massage therapy in the past. I met Jeremy Houle at F.P.F. for 2 or 3 sessions over a two week period. After just one treatment the tension and pain in my entire body improved dramatically. After the second I was able to exercise at the level I wanted without severe pain.He showed me exercises and stretching movements I could do on my own for maintenance and if necessary I could see him as required. Everything has gradually improved since receiving treatment from Jeremy. As for F.P.F. in general I think the staff are supportive and encouraging . You can do your own thing here or if you want, take advantage any of the multiple programs and services offered. If you are experiencing ongoing stiff / sore muscles, or in need of a total body relaxation experience Jeremy is the solution to your problem. He is very skilled at what he does and has a gentle approach to making people feel better. You will notice right away he has techniques that are both unique and effective. In my view he's simply a " gifted healer " on many different levels and one of the nicest people I have met since coming to F.P.F. Thank you Jeremy and thank you.F.P.F.

Expérience négative: A terrible interaction -wish I could rate the experience a zero.I was interested in visiting the facility and called ahead to arrange a time. I was told to just show up "anytime". Showed up at 7pm and was given the cold shoulder by the lady who I later found out was the owner. She was rude and abrasive and uninterested in my business. When I told her that I wasn't sure about joining and was still weighing my options she told me to go somewhere else. When I left the room she told my boyfriend that she doesn't want people "like me" there anyway. The gym looks good and the equipment is awesome but I don't need to pay that kind of money to be treated like garbage from someone who is clearly a bully.
