Expérience négative: Une des deux piscines était vidée , la propreté laisse largement à désirer et le service est exécrable ! Mention spéciale à la dame à l’entrée qui en plus de se prendre pour une autre est extrêmement condescendante et impolie envers les clients . Malgré mon commentaire poli concernant la piscine elle m’a répondu en m’insultant et comme si j’étais une moins que rien! Dommage , j’aimais bien aller à cette piscine il y a quelques années mais je n’irai plus ! Elle est en déclin total .

Expérience fantastique: I've been a member for 2 months at La Cite and feel very fortunate to have found this oasis right in the heart of downtown Montreal. Great workout gym that includes a sauna and 2 whirlpools. The outdoor rooftop swimming pool with ample lawnchairs surrounded by beautiful foliage is the icing on the cake. And last, but not least, the staff is very friendly and keeps the club running smooth as silk.

Expérience positive: I went to a private pool party at Club LaCité, I loved being right in the middle of the city!

Expérience négative: It is becoming very low quality gym . The staff is rude and towels are not available even though you pay extra for the towel service. It sounds like management is on vacation and it is run by a bunch of kids.

Expérience fantastique: J’ai découvert l’endroit grâce à un événement organisé pour la PRIDE et j’ai adoré. La piscine est belle et c’est agréable de prendre un bain de soleil en pleins centre-ville, j’ai un ami abonné à ce gym, je vais peut-être m’y abonner aussi !!!

Expérience négative: Déclin rapide, ne vous laissez pas berner. Equipment d'entraînement obsolète et mal entretenu. Zones d’entraînement puent comme les toilettes. Affaires douteuses, personnages "louches…" dévisagent partout: sauna, douches, vestiaire, salles d'entraînement, piscine, etc. Evitez le sauna, activité gay inappropriée, complicité évidente interne, dégueulasse. Faites attention, environnement peu sécuritaire. Administration épouvantable, réception grossière et condescendante.

Expérience négative: The most disrespectful staff I have ever seen. The blond skinny lady at the reception is very rude. The gym is old, outdated, dusty and dirty.

Expérience négative: Update: after ignoring my emails, i went again trying to find a solution. The same woman was there, they refused listening to me or paying me back the remaining of my membership. The woman, as always, is playing the victim. They STOLE my money, and stole many months subscription without valid reason. Stay away and NEVER pay many months ahead of time Worst gym you can find, and the most disrespectful reception I’ve ever seen. After reading the other reviews, it seems it’s a recurring problem. I paid a 6 months subscription due their promotion of 1$ per day. The reception is a woman, fake blond with fake lips. Very disrespectful and arrogant. I was waiting for my turn to seek assistance, as there were customers before me. When my turn came, I approached her desk to talk to her, and to my shock, she started disrespecting me saying that her friend just came, and that she wants to talk to her. When i answered saying that for each his turn, and that her friend came after me, she said: in that case, you have a long wait. She proceeded to yell at me, accuse me of many things, and threatened to call security and the cops on me claiming i was aggressive and disrespectful, my answer was that she can try calling whomever, i have recorded our conversation, and clearly she is in the wrong. She didn’t like it, and literally fired me from the gym. I still have 2.5months in the gym that i had paid for, so i asked her to refund me the remaining months, but she refused. So basically, this gym STEALS your money. I asked to talk to her superior, or have a contact info. Her reply: im the boss, why dont you understand that. There is no one you can talk to other than me. (She is clearly not the boss as she said during the convo: i dont have to serve anyone. I only serve my boss. (Not sure she understands her job description as a receptionist lol)) After that, she proceeded to leave the desk AGAIN, leave me behind, and go walk in the gym (PS: her job is to stay at the reception) I had no choice but to leave. I still have 2.5months of my membership + 3 weeks that i should get back, as per their policy (proof of travel is valid). If they keep her at the reception, im pretty sure they will lose plenty of other clients. I also saw this woman before disrespecting a colleague of her, blaming him for everything, while there was plenty of people waiting in line for her to finish fighting. Adding to this, the gym is old, dirty, and nasty. You can’t access to showers because of how nasty it is. Even the machines are full of dust.

Expérience négative: Ne fréquentez pas le club La Cité! Le gym est mal entretenu et sale, et le service à la clientèle est déplorable. Mon conjoint et moi essayons d'annuler notre abonnement depuis 4 mois (alors que nous avions 45 jours pour le faire) et cela n'a toujours pas été effectué. Nous avons passé de nombreux appels et envoyé des courriels sans jamais recevoir de réponse. Malgré notre déménagement dans une autre ville, nous continuons d'être facturés. Nous avons parlé à plusieurs reprises à un employé qui nous a assuré que notre abonnement serait annulé, mais cela n'a toujours pas été fait. Nous envisageons maintenant de passer par notre banque pour arrêter de payer pour un service que nous ne recevons pas!

Expérience fantastique: Love this gym! Both receptionists, Nadia and Mathis were so kind, welcoming, and complementary. The facilities are wonderful, and compared to other places, this club is definitely worth the price. Highly recommend, ESPECIALLY for students!

Expérience négative: I have gone to many gyms, this one is by far the worst. The equipment is outdated, rusty and noisy. The customer service is terrible, I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for the last 4 months and I still can’t talk to anyone on the phone. It’s a gross gym with terrible customer service.

Expérience négative: Terrible la actitud de la señora en la recepción, se cree superior a los demás y que es la única que tiene la razón y el derecho a hablar, y luego se pone a comentarlo con los otros socios. Lamentable. Si está tan enfadada de trabajar aquí que se busque otro lugar y no sea impertinente con los clientes que vienen aquí a desconectar y relajarse no a recibir un trato tan lamentable por parte de esa señora. Pésimo. Cabe mencionar que Sasha el instructor de clases grupales al igual que el resto de personal son increíblemente amables, educados y saben cómo tratar a las personas. El problema es la señora que aparte de creerse superior tiene una actitud pésima con la gente.

Expérience négative: It has what you need to get the job down, but it's not well kept. It's pretty dirty. It wouldn't kill them to clean it. If it wasn't so convenient, I would find another gym.

Expérience fantastique: Nelson is the BEST TRAINER He is FUN, shares good vibes and energy and will always welcome you ... make sure you don't miss his classes: Tuesday morning for "Tonus" and Wednesday eve for Zumba... Plus you will feel in Holidays and see the sun shining even during a dull-autumn days, thanks to his spanish accent!

Expérience fantastique: Le personnel est adorable, la gym est super bien équipée et contient même un box pour faire du crossfit. En plus de la piscine et du jacuzzi, il y a beaucoup d’espaces et de machines donc même en périodes occupées je n’ai jamais de problème pour avoir accès à une machine. Les coachs sportifs sont très attentifs mêmes si je ne suis pas une de leurs cliente. Franchement top!

Expérience négative: Estoy decepcionada con el servicio en la recepción,un chico me diio la información que podía traer una visita GRATIS por 5 días de lunes a viernes ,solo mostrando una pieza de identidad,traje la visita y la señora de la recepción hoy lunes 2 de octubre 2023 me me dice que solo es un dia y que mi visita debe pagar por los otros 4 días. Expérience fantastique: J’y vais pour profiter de la piscine extérieure sur le toit, à l’abri du trafic même si c’est en plein centre-ville. L’aménagement est magnifique, et on s’y sent en vacances. Pas besoin d’être membre du gym, on peut payer à la journée.

On peut retrouver plusieurs réparations à faire ici et là des trous dans les murs. Et aussi éviter de laisser transparaître votre mécontentement des employés devant des clients svp ça ne fait pas professionnel. (Une jeune française frustrée) Malheureusement la nourriture au bar est vraiment ordinaire vaut mieux aller se chercher un truc en bas c’est plus frais.

Expérience fantastique: This gym has a huge selection of machines, free weights and - on a separate floor - a full range of cardio equipment (treadmills etc). It’s a friendly place where members don’t hog machines. There are 3 or 4 trainers based in the gym if you want guidance for your training.

Expérience positive: Had everything that you needed to workout! Old-school facility and a little dated, but more than enough for a solid workout. I highly recommend the sauna and hot tub section up stars, that was easily 5 stars!

Expérience négative: I have been a member here for more than 20 years and they have the best jacuzzi in the world but Mens locker room is always filthy. I heard that womens locker room is very nice and clean. This place had recently been bought by a French family who seem to have big renovation ideas. Make sure the laser hair removal machine operated by Laura is working properly since I had no change after my first session which cost me more than $300

Expérience fantastique: Great outdoor pool, lounging terrace and bar in the heart of Montreal at the base of the Mont Royal mountain. There is a gym and very nice spa as well which includes a sauna, steam room and whirlpool. I have many happy memories there, having enjoyed many summer days at Club La Cité as a child.

Expérience positive: Overall it's an okay gym, there's enough equipment for all the people there, plus it's not that expensive. But.. most of the equipment is old, some - very old and rusty. Plus they don't clean it well enough, there's dirt and dust in the corners. I'm allergic to dust so it matters.

Expérience fantastique: Great pool space! Awesome place for a dance party event. Very spacious and lots of different amenities.

Expérience négative: Nice place but now charge 10$ per hour for tennis, so would cost me extra 80-100$ a month for same play time. Worst is didn't mention new fee when I renewed membership. Imagine you got a gym membership and suddenly had to pay to use the machines. Too bad.

Expérience négative: The new management staffs are unfriendly and unprofessional. The gym had a few promotion to get more new members, the weight room is crowded all the times, you need to wait for machines. Also they have male staffs walking into women’s locker room unannonced from time to time, and the manager does not care when the issue was addressed to him.

Expérience négative: 2 OF 3 pools advertised are empty. They advertise that the the pool has indoor access (that part has been boarded up for years now). The pool by the bar is drained and full of mold. The bar itself lost it's liquor license years ago and is no longer a bar...it's a slab of concrete...Water fountain is constantly broken, wifi often does not work so if you're streaming music, too bad. Despite all, and not fixing anything, prices doubled recently as well. Tennis court is torn up carpet, that is often booked for lessons so you can't use it but you bet you're paying for it. Probabaly the worst is that the paper towel dispensers and disinfecting spray bottles are always broken or empty so you know without a doubt you are exercising in other people sweat.

With better options available in the neighborhood for a similar price, I suggest exploring other gyms that prioritize the well-being and satisfaction of their members.

Expérience positive: Correct sans plus. Ce gym n'est plus ce qu'il a déjà été. La propreté laisse à désirer. La piscine n'ouvre plus l'hiver. Les bains chauds dans les vestiaires et le coin spa sont sales et mal entretenus. C'est malheureux car il y a beaucoup de potentiel.

Expérience négative: Les heures d'ouverture de la piscine ont soudainement changé sans qu'on ne soit averti. 9h à 19h en semaine, c'est plutôt limité. Pourquoi les heures ne seraient-elles pas les mêmes que pour le gym? Ce n'est sûrement pas parce que le sauveteur n'est pas arrivé. Il n'y en a pas!

Expérience négative: Le prix est passé de 30 dollars par mois à 80 dollars par mois !!! L'inflation a bon dos et je me demande comment on peut justifier une telle augmentation. J'irai ailleurs, là où il y a plus d'équipements, de propreté et surtout moins cher

Expérience négative: This place has been going down the hill for a while, old equipment, lack of cleaning crew, dirty locker rooms and lots of old guys that only go watch you get naked in the sauna area. I hope the new owners will turn this place around

Expérience positive: Old rusty weights , old equipment and a nice pool . Overall it’s fine but it’s expensive for what is offer . Econofitness ( similar gym in neighbourhood) offers same stuff with newer and cleaner equipment ( no pool of course ) for half the price (208$ Per year).

Expérience négative: Equipment is bare bones, which isnt bad. But all their benches (anything that requires sitting) will leave a permanent stench of mold in your clothes. So unless you feel like throwing out your gym clothes after every workout, please avoid.

Expérience fantastique: Fav gym in the McGill area. Staff and regulars are generally friendly, not so crowded in the evening, stays open until late 10pm which is when I like working out. Clean facilities also and good variety/availability of weights and machines. Haven’t been to the pool but for the price and location the gym is pretty fair.

Expérience positive: OK gym, clean , well organized, cardio machines a bit old and not all functioning all the time. Nice outdoor pool usually very crowded.

Expérience négative: I went here after i’ve read an article saying how amazing this place is and showing misleading photos. Super dirty the whole place. Smells very bad inside and all the way to the pool. Definitely not worth the 15 dollars entrance! We literally stay there for 20 min while we had a phone call and left. At the entrance the 2 guys could have ask if everything was ok, why are we leaving so soon etc and refund us but of course didn’t happen. The pools were so crowded it felt almost gross to even look at it. There were ppl sitting next to each other not having space for the 2 m distance mandatory.

Expérience négative: Definitely nothing like the advertisements they make. One of the pools was not even open, the other one was so dirty that you couldn't see anything under it. The sunbeds were also neglected and were dirty. The only good thing was that they gave us a refund when we asked for it. Also I have some doubts about how the owners or managers treat their employees since when we asked for a refund, the receptionist's hands were shaking and her manager seemed angry.

Expérience négative: Voilà bientôt 3 semaines que le sauna homme ne fonctionne pas. Les bains à remous sont froids et peu entretenus. Ils ont enlevé la possibilité d’utiliser la piscine durant l’hiver pour SOIT DISANT des raisons environnementales (lol). Bref, dans cette salle, tout est fait pour que le patron ne dépense pas d’argent. Peu importe l’avis des clients. C’est n’importe quoi. Je déconseille. Préférez un abonnement à econofitness. C’est moins cher et bien meilleur rapport qualité prix.

Expérience positive: Un peu défraîchi et lorsqu'un appareil brise, il faut souvent des semaines pour le réparer. Ceci dit, l'endroit demeure sympa et très pratique pour les habitants de Lacité! Une mention spéciale pour la piscine!

Expérience positive: The hottub is not maintained and accumulating slime. The sauna benches are falling apart and the floors have bits of metal and plastics that have not been swept for months. The staff knows about it, but their cleaning company is useless.

Expérience négative: Chill staff but the gym looks dirty. I also notice that few people clean their weights and machines after usine them. We are in the middle of a pandémic and theire is no one inside to make sure people respect the rules.

Expérience négative: I don't usually write reviews, but I just had to. I can't believe it's been 2-3 months since the lockdown and closure of the gym, and not a single mail was sent to notify me of anything. Even when they closed up, they didn't send a mail as regards that. Now, I'm unsure if the gym has opened. The customers service is really poor.

Expérience positive: Overall its a nice gym for the price since you get to use the pool as well. You should pay for the group classes separately. They also have a small training room downstairs if you want to do CrossFit. You can rent Tennis rackets from the front desk but the downside is that they don't maintain their Tennis court very well and when I went to play there were no lights around the court. The front desk lady did not know where they can switch it on and after calling the maintenance guy they realized the lights are broken. I hope they had fixed it by now.

Expérience positive: Love this gym- no time limits on machines, huge variety of machines & weights, full room just for stretching and mat work, affordable membership fee, and rooftop pool in the summer is a great bonus. Locker rooms are huge too, with sauna and hot tub and steam room. Love being a member here !

Expérience négative: Honestly I have nothing nice to say about this place! A public swimming pool would be cleaner and more economically advantageous. The pool is very small and there is too many people going there, literally no space to move! And definitely impossible to keep your 2m distance (hello COVID-19!) Even though it’s a rooftop swimming pool, there are so many trees around it that there is very little sunlight coming in so be prepared to battle your way through the yard to find a sunny spot to lay on! The daily pass is very expensive ($15), and you only have 15 minutes to make up your mind about whether you wanted to stay here or not. After that, say bye to your precious $15! Also I just wanted to point out that the monthly pass is $60, but you have to pay $15 for a daily pass?!? Like who is in charge of setting these rates? A second grader? Overall, my experience here was very bad and honestly if I could give zero stars, I would!

Expérience négative: This place is DISGUSTING. The hot-tub is slimy, like I'm talking brown and green slime right there on the steps. The shower has mold all over the ceiling and fixtures. Absolutely horrifying. The sauna has been broken for a month. The lockers are so rusty the floors are falling in. Don't believe me? Here's the showers:
