Expérience fantastique: I had a great experience today with Arthur. I recently started going back to the gym, and he was a great help for me. Not only was he attentive, but the conversation was smooth, and it felt like he cared. His help was very much appreciated :)

Expérience fantastique: I’m not typically on the equipment here, rather I come for the group classes. There is excellent class variety and scheduling and I am able to frequently switch up my routine to try new things. The Trip classes (which are spin classes with huge VR screens) and Zumba classes are so fun, and I also love the Regymen and hot Yin Yoga. Best part of this gym is the instructors! So many great ones, but I want to give a huge shout out to Crystal who teaches Body Combat, she leaves me feeling so inspired! I love this GoodLife, only negatives would be the meditation area (was so excited they had this but it’s so loud and you can hear everything being said in the staff room) and the parking area which has gotten crazy since the T&T supermarket was put in.

Expérience positive: 4 1/2 stars. Tons of space, clean, well maintained equipment. My only minor quibble is that they could use a second piece of a couple of the niche pieces of equipment.

Expérience fantastique: Best gym I've been to. The stuff is super nice and makes the space squicky clean. The equipment is versatile and usually fixed in several days. I enjoyed the gym for three months and saw several upgrades during this time.

Expérience fantastique: Just signed up for the gym last week and after a few visits so far I am very impressed. It's big, clean and has friendly staff there. Definitely the best goodlife gym I've been to so far. Plenty of cardio machines (never even close to be fully used) and plenty of benches, squat racks etc. Happy with my decision so far

Expérience négative: The staff is rude and lacks proper manners. The customer service is abysmal, with staff members unfriendly and unhelpful. I once asked once staff member to Show me how to use plank machine he said be doesn’t know lol then what are you doing here buddy at least call someone who knows . People in evening who occupies one machine by putting their water bottle and then work on other ppl. I complained about this but staff is just busy in gossiping. People pouring water bottles in sauna. At least provide some basic customer training to your staff .

Expérience positive: Everything was perfect when I went to workout this week but the handles on some of the machines wasn't in a good condition so if that can be fixed then I see this gym as the best gym in Canada.

Expérience fantastique: I like it here, lots of machines are available, no need to wait for someone to finish and it's 24 hours. A lot of people stand around and conversate blocking machines, socbest to come when they are not busy. the staff is helpful and professional. The outdoor and indoor field is a nice touch, the only negative thing is that there is no water fountain only bottle refill stations, if you forget your water bottle be ready for a dry throat workout.. or pay like $5 at the vending machine for a drink.

Expérience fantastique: I was very hesitant at first as I was not sure how I’d feel about a bigger gym. I had always been used to a small HIIT training gym. GoodLife Kanata made it very welcoming and helped me get settled in. From the first initial meet with a trainer, helping to set goals to the group classes, Hot Yoga and Regymen classes, everyone has made it easy to fit in. All the trainers in all the classes have helped me reach my goals, modifying exercises when needed, proper form and supporting me along the way. I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges on Wednesdays in Regymen during the month of July. It really helps to keep you motivated and challenge yourself. Thank you Goodlife for making the gym a welcoming and comfortable environment to be.

Expérience fantastique: Awesome gym, seems to be the hot spot for bodybuilders, powerlifters and fitness models lol. very spacious, Has so many different machines, barbells and dumbells. Probably the biggest gym i've ever been to in all of Canada .

Expérience fantastique: Today I noticed someone wiping down the equipment, however it was really great to see Kara preforming the task meticulously! I also observed that she has a very good professional and uplifting way that made every person that she engaged with happy and motivated. Thank you to Kara and the rest of the Kanata GoodLife staff for making this one of the best gyms and workout atmospheres.

Expérience positive: My experience so fat at GoodLife Fitness Kanata is being very pleasant, the staff member are friendly and helpful, the quality of the space is awesome and the variety of equipments. The only thing I want to point out is that some of the equipments are old or the same as the Fit4Less, for example the treadmills are old most of them lack maintenance, I think there's 4 good treadmills and some of the equipments are very old, I believe Goodlife should invest in more high-end equipments and updated Treadmills, most of people that join GoodLife want to see their money being invested in good equipments, not equipments equal from the low cost Fit4Less... So far that's my only concern, I will change my rating if things change for good or for bad.

Expérience fantastique: I'm visiting Ottawa from North York, and I must say, I'm quite impressed! I've seen an outdoor gym or hydro massage beds at any other GoodLife locations before. This is definitely a great GoodLife gym, and it makes my future visits to Ottawa even more exciting!

Expérience négative: My recent visit to GoodLife Fitness on Hazeldean was not pleasant. The staff's rude behavior specially Bahara at the reception overshadowed any potential benefits of the workout. It felt like I was an unwelcome guest. Save yourself the trouble and find a gym where customer service actually matters.

Expérience fantastique: I think this location is the best in town. They also have these fancy-looking hydromassages for premium members and it's an amazing way to recover after a solid leg or back day. Plenty of available benches and machines can be in use.

Expérience fantastique: Gym's a bit pricey but you're paying for the quality and variety of the equipment and also 24/7 accessability which is great for someone like me who works night time. Haven't had the chance to speak with a lot of the staff yet except Aaron who was very warm and professional. They offer a complimentary personal training session for anyone new joining and also have massage chairs and tanning beds if that's your thing. Very positive and active crowd as well!

Expérience négative: I signed up a little while back and immediately regretted my decision so called to cancel my membership since I could never go being a new mom. The person I spoke to talked me into freezing my membership incase I decided I wanted to try the gym and reminded me that if I do cancel my membership at any time that there will be a charge of ONE bi-weekly payment. My membership was being frozen for 2 months and I decided I will not be using the membership so today I called to cancel it. I spoke to someone who was helping me cancel my membership and by the end of the phone call I was told there would be a charge of almost $70 and a charge of almost $180 to my credit card due to cancelling and because they can’t cancel it as of today’s date…it had to be May 28th 2024 (over a month away). I was baffled so I asked for corporates number to discuss this and dispute any of those charges since I had not used their facilities once and won’t be. Corporate was kind and quick to cancel my membership as of today’s date and told me I will not be charged any of those ridiculous amounts. Be mindful when dealing with customer service!

Expérience négative: I get very anxious about stepping into this gym thanks to Angela's unwelcoming demeanour. Every time I check in, her cold and judgmental stares make me feel like I'm intruding on her personal space. It's clear she has no interest in creating a friendly atmosphere for customers. If you enjoy feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable, this gym is the perfect fit for you

Expérience positive: I’ve been training with Lukas for 2 years. I decided to start it mainly because of my mental health, but as I was progressing, I felt like focusing on my body as well. From the very beginning he’s been listening to my concerns and planning our sessions accordingly. I’ve been embracing other goals to achieve physically, and Lukas is always on top of them helping me to accomplish my purpose. He’s extremely knowledgeable, patient and easy to work with. My life got way better after I started exercising and I feel more motivated to make better choices on my everyday life. Having Lukas as my trainer makes working out much more enjoyable and, most importantly, I feel secure, knowing that a great professional is guiding me through this journey. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars to the gym is because they no longer have a space for child miding. I’d love to be able to work out on weekends too, but I can’t as I can’t bring my kids with me.

Expérience fantastique: Started here only two weeks ago, and really feel commited to keep coming back. The staff are friendly and supportive. I actually have to give a shoutout to Ryan S, who has been my physical trainer. He's a great trainer I would recommend. He's got the right balance of pushing and motivating you, professional and friendly. I was pretty nervous about joining, and quite self-conscious, but with his support I feel much more comfortable and confident coming here. Our training is not just locked to one area of the gym, he got me to try all different sections and familiarize me with a lot of the equipment I didn't know what to do with (let alone existed, lol). He's definitely worth asking about if you sign up. The amenities are quite good, although I can't speak to all of them. The place is largely quite clean and well maintained. It's also very spacious, and there's good air circulation keeping you cool. There are some people over-grunting and being a bit loud, but most people I've interacted with are nice and just here to focus on their workout. Really happy I joined!

Expérience positive: I got a membership to this gym for over 6 months . My husband have been trying to register himself for a member ship for over 3 week now and no one has the knowledge to do so after 20:00. We went to try again yesterday and the lady told us that she was not able to do it since it wasn’t  within her job description. We asked her if she could give him a pass for a day and she told us that we needed to pay 25$ for the entree. what a disappointment honestly!!!! People pay 80$/month to go to this gym with to incompetent staff to learn how to do basic registration.

Expérience négative: I signed up 1 month ago, about 2 weeks into the membership my black high-top converse were taken from the ladies locker room while I was in the Sauna. My locker was thankfully locked. Theft is rampant at this location, it was clear that it is a joke with the staff on how often this occurs. It was enough to make me uncomfortable, since I do not know if I can trust the fellow members or staff. I also had to stand shoeless for longer than what is comfortable till the front desk "gave me permission" to borrow Crocs so I could get home. There are free outdoor parks in the area, and I am going to try out the City of Ottawa gyms which also have sauna/steam room. Hopefully their saunas get warmer than 76F at Goodlife. [Also, my opinion, don't bring your phone into a sauna, it's wrong on social, sanitary, and tech maintenance levels.] Be careful if you are going to this gym alone.

Expérience fantastique: Have been training with Lukas for two years. It’s been great! He commits to learning and expanding his skill sets to provide personalized training beyond what you would expect of a typical trainer. I’ve seen huge improvement in my mobility and strength. Super grateful for this paring and highly recommend.

Expérience fantastique: Absolute experience! Though I did face a bit of glitch in the beginning, once I reached out to customer care, they were extremely helpful and supportive. The sales person Aaron was very helpful and took the time to explain all the details about the plan and the facility. The facility itself has an extremely good vibe and amazing atmosphere. No wonder I see people spending hours here.

Expérience fantastique: I was ready to get back into group fitness classes after moving back to Canada and fell upon GoodLife Fitness Kanata while exploring my options. Beautiful and welcoming facilities! The staff was very inviting and understanding about my goals from a gym membership. The variety of different services is what sold me; hot yoga, spinning, loads of gym equipment, group workouts, etc. All under the same roof! I'm looking forward to this journey!

Expérience positive: I had high hopes when this location opened as I thought it would solve the issues with crowding and equipment like squat racks and benches always being in use, given its size. Unfortunately, by closing all the other Goodlife locations in Kanata, it has just made this gym unbearably packed during peak hours. I have gone in after work and have been unable to access a squat rack, a bench or any of the cable machines in the hour to hour and a half I’ve been there. If I’m finally lucky enough to get a piece of equipment, someone is breathing down my neck asking how many sets I have left within 5 minutes. It’s clean, big, and has some nice features, but making it the sole option in Kanata was a mistake and has soured me on it. It’s really too bad, it had a lot of potential. Update a year later: Somehow I think it’s even more packed than it was before. They have tried to address space issues by reconfiguring, but it isn’t really helping as the most sought after equipment is still constantly in use. Plan on going during off times if you actually want access to anything. I sincerely hope Goodlife considers other options to rectify this problem.

Expérience fantastique: My trainer Mike Macleod is everything and more you would expect from a professional trainer. For over five years I have appreciated Mikes many abilities, professional, thoughtful, focused yet he makes every scission enjoyable. Over time like many of us I have had injuries not due to my work outs but to everyday life, when you are active something is always bound to happen. Mikes unique ability is his through knowledge of body mechanics and how to set you on a path to recovery. This is an amazing ability which goes far beyond fitness training. It leaves me with a great sense of confidence in my daily activities. What a thoughtful and professional trainer, thank you Mike.

Expérience négative: Don't store anything in this gym. My coat was stolen in the middle of the winter, while i was visiting over Christmas, and I was told there is nothing to be done, sorry. No manager was called, and I was told that it's not in their power to check tapes. Absolutely atrocious. Police report has been filed. Edit: talked to the manager the next day, and was told he will look at the cameras, with lots of repetitive mention of how tedious is was. Thank you to him for doing that, as it is required if I had a chance at finding my coat. There needs to be preventative policies in place for this. I was told by the manager that this happens in every single club in the country and they are powerless. Build combo locks into the lockers to remove any barrier to locking the doors. Remove the coat rack which is just out in the open, or move it to where there are cameras watching. Put lockers where cameras can see them. Do something to protect the paying patrons at the gym.

Expérience négative: I saw all these broken machines in one day. Some of their machines left behind broken for months, and Especially drinking water filters defective which is a health issue. I don’t even know if this gym has a manager.

Expérience fantastique: I love going to this location in the morning before work when it is less busy. The variety and amount of equipment (including the impressive amount of squat racks) means I rarely if ever have to wait for equipment. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is good!

Expérience positive: There are a lot of choices for machines and free weights. The staff are extremely friendly. The lockers are clean and there are enough massage chairs. The only downside is the towels which are not absorbent at all. I’ve contacted management about a year ago and the response I got was that the gym gets their towels from a central location. It doesn’t alleviate my problem of trying to dry off with the equivalent of a tea towel. I’m sure this is an easily fixable solution if the desire was there to elevate the member experience.

Expérience fantastique: Very Professional Welcoming Gym located in the heart of Kanata. Highly recommended to Professional athletes , First responders , Army personal and average fitness enthusiasts. When switching from another gym I had a bad experience with I explained my situation and there hospitality was unmatched. 10/10 Best Gym in Ottawa.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been working out for 12 years. This by far is my favourite gym of all the places I’ve been to. This is the biggest Goodlife gym in all of Canada for those of you who didn’t know the fact. It’s pretty busy from 5-7 in the evenings. They have a lot of equipment to accommodate the huge crowd though. The equipment is great, well maintained. The changing rooms are clean, much cleaner than most other gyms I’ve been to. They have a nice spa. The massage rooms are great. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You can also get personal training if you want and they also have classes like power yoga. They recently started outdoors gym this year during the summer (haven’t tried it personally and is closed during winters) which inclines towards cross-fit or calisthenics type training. I’m very happy with my membership here and it’s totally worth what I’m paying for. Highly recommend you check out this gym.

Expérience négative: Had corporate membership and regret it. They randomly deduct (biweekly usual but weekly at times) and then will provide you GL credit when you cross question on wrong deduction. Their receipts wont include ANY detail of the amount credited so basically you have no control on the finance. After 1 hour calls, they continue to deduct coz of some weirdly established processes in place. The customer support is always clueless on what’s going on with financial department.

Expérience fantastique: Open about a year ago, big new location (taking the place of the 3 Kanata locations now closed). Lots of squat racks, lots and chest press benches, lots of cardio equipment, the biggest stretch area in any location I've been to (since a lot of the other gyms stretch areas were taken over by Trx etc). Large room for classes and for spin. All good, except you are only allowed to go to the spin classes if you have the extra membership, even if it is a regular spin class.

Expérience fantastique: Clean, friendly staff and fellow gym members. Lots of versions of equipment for tackling different body parts. I was impressed by the large area devoted to streching.I would recommend to anyone.

Expérience négative: Nice gym but it is way too busy - why they decided to close all the other gyms in Kanata is beyond me. Update (11/22/2022): Still so busy. Cancelled membership to go elsewhere.

Expérience positive: How i boldly break almost every platform rule because you know at Goodlife they're actually just suggestions or best practices. -No benches - No dumbells - No Isolation Exercises On a separate note lately there's been an unexplained high level of unsupervised prepubescent mostly if not all males at the gym that have no issue rough housing around weights and equipment or instead of spotting one another they just laugh when one fails a lift, gets trapped under the bar leaving no choice to shed the weights onto the floor which is never ideal. I can only assume for whatever reason Goodlife went on an advertising campaign to local middle schools to round up these new child members without any care for their personal health and safety. I doubt they even have a minimum age to join or at least have a guardian. Fun fact it's not recommended for kids before puberty to perform bodybuilding exercises at all since their still well into growing. Other then that it's an awesome gym that has pretty well everything and anything you could want, and I guess some stuff you'd rather go without as well. I bet ya i Now if your not into your gym being lawless and partially resembling a playground you'd probably be best just going to Movati instead.

Expérience positive: Great place for a good workout. The Zumba classes with the instructors are very great and fun. I always look forward to attending my scheduled classes.
