Crunch Fitness - Waterdown: Avis
Expérience positive: My first review :Very good gym. Friendly people. Perfect location. Value for money. My current review: the TV subscription at this gym is expired for last 6 months. They just kept telling it will be up in few days. I would have appreciated if they told the truth. TV subscription is not a deal breaker but definitely good to have. But the communication or rather lack of communication on this was really bad. Makes you rethink.
Expérience négative: Avoid bad and awkward sales situation if you can! My husband and I had a terrible and uncomfortable meeting here with the manager. We were open that we were trying out Crunch and GoodLife, as we know GoodLife has more facilities vs price factor as crunch has less to offer, let's be honest. We said we like the sauna idea GL and the manager was very rude and pastronising saying we were wrong and GoodLife does not even have a sauna. He made me think I had the name of the gym totally wrong? He was putting down other gyms like LA and was very condescending when you even mention another gym. They also make you pay for a FOB and "give you your money back". It was weird we didn't even care about the trial we mostly wanted to see the gym then decide. Id rather pay more and go to GoodLife, they were much more friendly and I don't think people understand the hard sales attitude is gross and we felt pressured. We left because it was uncomfortable and signed up to GL the next day. Would have joined maybe for the price factor but the manager totally turned us off by his attitude.
Expérience fantastique: Excellent, affordable gym. Nice and helpful people. Ample of cardio equipments to choose from. Good for people who donot need too many extras with extra charge.
Expérience négative: FYI the cancellation is a money grab. They will be squeezing extra month before they actually let you go. Decide two months before hand if you want to cancel. For example if your membership is due on a renew on June 15 and you come to cancel on June 16, they will still deduct July 15 payment and you can still use the gym till August 15. Really Crunch!!
Expérience négative: Hi there , In march i got my membership from cruch fitness at $18.94and extra 32dollars were deducted for other things and i was aware of these transactions but now today an transaction of $67.79 took place and i was not aware of that i talk to the guy In personally and he was like we can not refund it as i am not aware of that and i don’t want to continue further I want my refund as soon as possible and i also cancelled my membership because of this unfair transaction.
Expérience fantastique: Brent is the best trainer at this location. Very professional and knowledgeable, highly recommend him for any program required.
Expérience négative: after my first review about 4 years ago, the gym improved, staff changed and were friendly, helpful and appeared happy to be there. However it seems that the old attitudes are creeping back in, lots of new staff who appear to not care. Music in the gym this morning was great if you are a teenager but nobody else. mentioned this to a staff member and was told to speak to the owner as there is nothing they can do, the attitude was one who couldn't care less about the members(who basically give them a job) this attitude made my training partner and I end our workout early. As an annual member, maybe time to try other gyms ad take my renewal funds there?
Expérience fantastique: Great gym. Has what you need. Staff is friendly. Place is clean in waterdown. Would recommend to anyone in and around the waterdown area.
Expérience fantastique: I have been a member at Crunch for quite some time now, and I cannot emphasize enough how remarkable my experience has been, all thanks to an outstanding individual named Peirsen. Overall, I cannot speak highly enough of Peirsen's contributions to myself. His dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for the well-being of others make him an invaluable asset. If you're looking for a gym experience that exceeds expectations look no further. I appreciate all this gym has done for waterdown and great friends i have made. And i hope it continues to thrive!
Expérience fantastique: Love the classes, the instructors really work to make the participants feel welcome, encourage the group to work together, and spend time to correct posture to ensure the best results. My favourite classes are Joint Ventures, which is an amazing class to stretch and restore muscles after a workout, and 2nd favourite is Push the Perimeter, you know that you have had a great workout leaving nothing on the mat!
Expérience positive: I've been a member here for a few years now and I am updating my review to reflect the experience with Crunch more recently. The members here are super friendly for the most part. However, the gym equipment could use a cleaning since they are dusty. The same gym equipment breaks repeatedly and we have to wait weeks for it to be fixed. I wish this location had a wider equipment selection like the Burloak Crunch does. The change room area smells awful most of the time, either like sweat, bleach or sewage. The gym has never properly fixed their plumbing issues before so when the drain backs up the smell is unbearable. The cleaners they hire should use air freshener or different cleaning products... nobody wants to smell any of the above when in a change room.
Expérience positive: Updating my review as there has been positive changes. My personal trainer is above 5 star and the only reason I keep coming. Since my review on the country music, I've seen a change. Music is better now and it's actually enjoyable to workout in. While my trainer Brent is still the reason I continue to return. I appreciate the efforts to make things better.
Expérience négative: The good: Front desk staff are friendly, facility is kept pretty clean and monthly membership or ridiculously cheap. People that workout here are great, good atmosphere. The bad: equipment is hotel grade garbage that is not maintained, consistently broken and takes more than a few days to get someone in to "fix" it only for the same cable to snap a week later. Cable machines are not smooth, they have friction spots, many of the adjustments on the machine are janky and broken. People don't want to say anything because then the machine it out of commission for a week so they manage to try and use them partially broken just so they can complete their workout. It seems in the past month or two the focus from management has been on who has the app on their phone to check in when they enter. As a result the gym has started to decline. They have great floor space but it could be much better utilized with someone who has good knowledge of setting up a gym space. With the demographic of people who workout here they could overhaul the gym set up, improve their equipment and charge more and the majority of people would happily pay. I've worked out at hotel gyms that has significantly better equipment, this place needs to do better.
Expérience positive: The gym is mostly worth the very cheap price. It has most of what you need / expect from a commercial gym. The front desk people have always been friendly to me as well. Two issues with this gym - the equipment they have is bad quality. Definitely a cheaper brand and it’s noticeable. Notice it more on some machines, for example the lat pull-down is the worst I’ve ever used. Second issue is the ventilation sucks. It’s always very humid and smells like sweat in there which is not a nice greeting when you walk in the door and also makes it feel dirty, especially in the change room. On a side note the evenings are way too full and sometimes they will have two classes running that take up large portions of the gym. Unfortunately, from what I’ve heard and seen, it’s the best option in waterdown.
Expérience fantastique: Great gym and great equipment! This gym is definitely one of the better ones in the area, very well kept and good atmosphere. The staff are always around willing to help! The trainers are in the gym pretty consistently so even if you’re new, you have someone with experience to help you feel comfortable! I’ve personally had training done by Brent and it was a great experience, very helpful and willing to teach with patience!
Expérience négative: make the damn gym 24/7
Expérience fantastique: Great gym usually not packed and great festures.
Expérience fantastique: Brent is my personal trainer and with his professional help, I have greatly improved my overall health and wellbeing
Expérience fantastique: Thank you Brent for being an amazing trainer, my overall strength has gone up and am in the best shape I’ve ever been in. I would definitely recommend working with him !
Expérience négative: Don’t waste your money. Doesn’t tell you the entire pricing (includes a 67$ maintenance fee I wasn’t told about). The gym isn’t big enough or well kept enough for the prices they charge, this gym is a joke.
Expérience négative: If you are a fitness competitor, they have a “policy” (that isn’t written in the contract you sign initially) that you can’t have your gym bag with you and are very OCD about it. I’ve been going to this gym for almost 2 years with zero issues having all my bands, ankle straps (that I need for workout) in a bag with me until as of recent the “owner” Rita interrupts my workouts approximately 4 different times to harass me about my bag. We compromised on a smaller bag which I went and purchased which I appreciated and yet still she harassed me about it. When I expressed my disappointment and that these are all things I require with me for my training and that I even went and spent money on a smaller bag like she requested, instead of de-escalating the situation she escalated it, laughed in my face literally multiple times and gave zero care for my needs or frustration as a member. It is the worst customer service I’ve ever received and she did not care that this led me to cancelling my gym membership. Overall equipment is not great, smith machine bar doesn't go down all the way and the crunch classes use a whole part of the gym so you can’t use it as a member. In the evenings it gets extremely crammed and you’ll be waiting for equipment and workout out shoulder to shoulder. Owner doesn’t care about your business, spend your money elsewhere.
Expérience fantastique: Brent is a fantastic personal trainer. He listened to my rehab goals, established a workout schedule that was fine tuned to accommodate my needs, and knows just how to get the best results from my workouts. I’m getting stronger, have more energy and sleep better.
Expérience fantastique: It's a great place for solo as well for group workout sessions. The staff are very helpful and the community with in are very nice, friendly and motivational. The trainers are knowledgeable with different workouts and will help you reach the goal you are trying aiming for. I personally enjoy the environment during my workout and the massage chair helps with the aftermath of a great session.
Expérience négative: Terrible experience. Drove 30 minutes in the snow to redeem a free pass I was given from my wife’s account. Was told it can’t be accepted because it’s ‘not their policy’. Then the staff tried to rush me out quickly. Had to settle for a Day Pass which somehow costs as much as a monthly pass to the gym. Emailed the manager and got no response on what happened. Zero customer service, zero care for the people trying to join their gym.
Expérience fantastique: I have been a member of this gym for almost 2 years. I enjoy the HIIT classes not only because it helped me with my strength and endurance but I also found an awesome group of ladies to workout with together. The instructors prepare and structure their classes with knowledge. The PT's know their job and in summary I love this gym.
Expérience négative: Signed up for a 5-day free trial online and was told it wasn’t available on day 2. Today I drove to the gym only to be greeted by a very grumpy lady. She was sat with her foot on the front counter and when I gave her my information she said she couldn’t see the trial and had to call her manager. A few moments later she told me that at this location they only do a 1 day trial and since I went yesterday, I couldn’t try it out. She proceeded to offer me different membership options. When I tried to explain to her and show her the Crunch website where I signed up for 5 days she had no interested and just went back to offering me a day pass to purchase. My whole interaction with her was very negative and she had really poor attitude. When she told me I could just buy a day pass for a 3rd time all I could do is walk out the door.
Expérience fantastique: I love this gym. The facility is always clean and well-equipped, and equipment is available even during peak hours. My personal trainer is knowledgeable, personable, and puts time and effort into tailoring workouts to my individual needs. All of the staff are happy to offer guidance and are super friendly too, which makes it such a positive atmosphere. Added bonus that I can physio with my trainer here too.
Expérience positive: I've been at this location pretty consistently for about a year now, and have also been training with Brent, one of their personal trainers. I've been very happy with the progress I've been able to make, the equipment I need is almost always available even when busy which is a huge bonus. Gym is always clean and well kept. Would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable gym option
Expérience fantastique: I'm new to the whole gym environment, this was my first week going and the 2 times I went the front staff was very polite and helpful. The gentlemen at the front Pearson was on it with cleaning and putting dumbbells away. I was easily able to use cardio machines. I think my favorite part is I got a free consultation with a trainer to show me how to use some of the machines. Definitely recommend especially if you're just getting started.
Expérience négative: Pushy staff, old worn and broken equipment lots of it. Ripped machine materials. Not clean. They rip you off financially too!!
Expérience fantastique: Friendly and love my trainer Brent
Expérience fantastique: Lovely workers and clean
Expérience fantastique: Friendly staff and members, no judgeing aswell!
Expérience fantastique: Best crunch gym and friendly staff
Expérience fantastique: Best Gym
Expérience positive: Good gym
Expérience fantastique: Great gym and services
Expérience négative: absolutely terrible staff behind the desk! probably couldn’t even say her abc’s!
Expérience positive: Good gym not super busy good price
Expérience négative: There's constantly this incoming phone call noise. Super annoying
Expérience positive: the best crunch location i’ve been to! very clean, huge space! just wish the hours were longer :)
Expérience fantastique: The staff are very friendly and the instructors for the classes are great and motivating!
Expérience positive: Plenty of machines. Busy but not overcrowded when I attend in the early morning. Friendly staff.
Expérience négative: They took my membership money during the pandemic even though closed for some periods . Refused refund .
Expérience positive: This facility is very clean and friendly staff. Even at 6am everyone gets a smile VB
Expérience fantastique: Easy to sign up, good price Place is clean, always free machines to workout. Could have more classes.
Expérience fantastique: Friendly, clean facility with great instructors and equipment. Limited classes but as a smaller town that’s understandable
Expérience fantastique: The Gym has very nice quality equipment and all staff and members are very friendly
Expérience fantastique: Really like the gym. Lot’s of nice equipment and very friendly staff!
Expérience positive: Good gym. Please fix the water bottle filling portion of the water fountain. Its flow is extremely limited and doesn't work as intended
Expérience fantastique: No frills type gym so busy, but friendly staff. Thanks for increasing the hours! Hopefully it’s permanent.
Expérience fantastique: Exactly what I want in a gym! I can go run on the treadmills in the morning during the colder months and nobody bugs me. Haha staff are super friendly and helpful!
Expérience fantastique: Equipment in good condition, staff always friendly, it is a smaller gym so it gets busy faster than others, but overall great gym
Expérience fantastique: Clean, Friendly and lots of machines. Never had to wait for one to become available. The changerooms and bathroom are immaculate. Never feel intimidated or that I am not "measuring up"
Expérience négative: I would not recommend signing any contracts with this organization, read all the fine print, all benefits to gym, not member. My experience with them is now a legal one.
Expérience positive: I have very few issues with the gym itself. My biggest beef is the members who sit on equipment forever flipping through their phones. 2 minutes of training finely blended with 13 minutes of checking Facebook. Are you there to look at Instagram or work out? Lift some weights or move on. There should be a posted rule. Lift or shift!!
Expérience fantastique: Loving the new spring schedule especially the Triple HIIT classes on Monday mornings and Tuesday evenings. Dismo needs to teach more evening classes . He’s able to keep great energy for the group and a challenging workout for all.
Expérience positive: Nice crunch location with working AC. Major improvement from my regular location where I'm moments from heat stroke for the duration of my workout. Wish the deadlift area was a little bigger though
Expérience négative: Make sure you dot your i’s and cross your t’s when you cancel your membership. They will look for any excuse to continue to charge you and then refuse to issue a refund despite the obvious mistake on their end.
Expérience fantastique: By far my favourite Crunch location I will drive out of my way to come to this location over others. Lots of space, good air flow, super clean, well maintained, even when busy there’s enough room to work comfortably.
Expérience fantastique: Great gym, gets busy some times but not too big of a deal. Equipment is normally fixed pretty fast if broken.
Expérience négative: I cancelled my membership. Went in and paid the next month because thats their policy. The girl behind the desk didn't process it properly supposedly and I had to go in 3 times now to try to get it sorted out. Talked to the Manager who assured me it would be straightened out. Now they have tried to charge my card a 3rd time!!!!
Expérience négative: Waterdown crunch although location is big their equipment is minimal. Too many cardio machines and only 1 of certain machines you may need. Patrons are rude young kids that dont like to share equipment or get annoyed when ask them if theyre done with something. Also everyone takes the cleaning spray bottles so that you cant clean your machines after use as they take them along during their entire workout. Not a huge fan. Will probably cancel.
Expérience négative: I called this location in June to find out the head office contact info from the club manager Dan. Since then he has given me 5 different email address to contact them with no phone number and of course none of the emails have answered me back. Yesterday I called a different location and asked for the same thing and that manager gave me the necessary info I needed and got the answer right away. Absolutely worst customer service from this location.
Expérience fantastique: I waited patiently for months for the gym to open up been a godsend for me...if they were not in my life this winter I would have ended up dead in Mexico from tequila poisening .. Visit at least 5 times a week and managing to keep this now 70 yr . old body going thanks to the friendly staff who all have great personalities and are friendly and have time to chat..its as much social as mandatory for me and my experiment of chasing the fit lifestyle
Expérience fantastique: I have the Peak membership at Crunch Waterdown. The facility is clean and well kept. I have never had to wait to use any equipment. The equipment is well maintained and in great condition. I LOVE the group classes; Chelsea and Vanessa are AMAZING group fitness instructors!! Their energy is contagious! Hitting the hydromassage after a workout is THE BEST! I have tried a couple Advanced HIIT classes and they challenged me is such a good way! I'm thinking I will upgrade to Peak Results! I highly recommend!!
Expérience positive: This location is always clean and the staff friendly. Located in a growing part of town they have a huge parking lot so that's never a problem. The equipment is fairly new and well maintained. However, the location sometimes gets very crowded during peaks times. A plus is this location also has punching bags.
Expérience fantastique: Amazing gym! I've been working out there for about 2 years now and all I can say is wow! Friendly staff, great trainers and the community at this gym is fantastic. Highly recommend for any new gym goer
Expérience fantastique: Have been working out at Crunch Waterdown for about three years. Super friendly staff, lots of equipment (and in good shape) and usually enough people in the gym but not too busy. Usually minimal to no wait for equipment. Highly recommended.
Expérience négative: Place is way to busy now. It use to be great a year ago but you even have to wait for equipment at midday. They have the space but refuse to get more equipment. Specifically benches and cables. Also, the owner really has no clue how to run it. She will get all the benches fixed at once but get mad at you for having a bag. It’s worth the extra 10 minute drive to GoodLife.
Expérience positive: Sometimes you get what you pay for. After Covid the gym was in great shape, and well maintained. Now it seems to be neglected a bit. Men’s change room is bad. Still only one hand dryer working. A glob of some substance still sitting on the wall above the lockers. Been there for months. Trash litters the floors.Packs of young men that come in and hog the majority of free weights and machines is annoying. I just wish it was cleaner and better managed.
Expérience positive: Relatively new facility so equipment and most areas are fresh and new, used to be 24/7 but not since after the pandemic which for me personally is a gripe but their hours are still quite good. Traffic in the gym is also pretty good praks a little in the morning and later evenings but if you’re a mid day gym goer this is an excellent place, also great for leg day since there are no stairs!
Expérience positive: Compared to other locations, this location is smaller. It does get pretty busy - however I do usually go during peak hours. The general demographic here is teens and young adults. The place is very clean, and well maintained. Staff is friendly and there are no real complaints. Great price for a good gym
Expérience fantastique: Staff at waterdown crunch are very outgoing and joining the club was a breeze. The gym and equipment are very well taken care of and for the most part very clean. Overall would recommend this club to anyone who wants to get into the gym and get a workout in without any red tape.
Expérience fantastique: Generally very well kept, has everything I’m looking for in a gym. I have a PT through this location and my time working with her has been very beneficial to my workout progress. It can be very busy at times but for majority of the time I can get to the machines/bench/weights I need. The staff is all very nice.
Expérience positive: I used to be at the Crunch downtown, and while it wasn't perfect we're really sad it closed. It was walking distance from our home. This now our go-to because unfortunately it's the best Crunch in West Hamilton in our opinion in terms of layout and busyness. Some things have begun to really bother us. One of the water fountains (the one with the bottle fill-up) hasn't been working for 12+ months. There are often multiple broken items in the bathroom for multiple months such as air dryers, toilets etc. Today brought me to the point of needing to leave a review. Admittedly they finally bought new ropes and a few new carabineers for the equipment, but a ton of machines and benches do not have pads on them at all. You can't use them, it's like sharp metal. For the price it's not terrible, but I really miss living beside an LA Fitness. For $35/month it was a much better value. Crunch is between 30%-50% the price of LA Fitness but maybe 10%-15% the gym. So not great value. If it's your closest gym, or you really can't afford a more expensive gym, Crunch will work for you, but otherwise go somewhere that fixes... The water fountain, ya know, the kind of thing that's super important at a gym. We only go because living downtown the next gym is like $55/month each.
Expérience fantastique: LOVE Waterdown Crunch!! Great gym and great vibe. The staff is really friendly and welcoming. Lauren is a great boost of energy at 6AM every day. If I could provide any feedback, open at 5AM and close later!! This includes for weekends.
Expérience négative: Been going to Crunch for some time now, first at another location and now this one, and I find the quality decreasing. The blow dryer in the women’s bathroom has been out of service for at least 2 years, same with the water bottle fountain. One working fountain is very frustrating when the gym is busy. The equipment is missing seats and padding, clips and pins are missing too. Not a lot of class options and the childcare centre is now gone. Overall it seems like the gym isn’t being well maintained and requires some attention.
Expérience fantastique: Crunch BARRIE is where you want to work out! The gym's downtown location is perfect for the urbanites, the atmosphere is professional, and the staff are amazing. I love the variety of equipment options for multiple training programs. The gym is busy but not packed. The patrons are respectful which makes my workout experience beyond expectation.
Expérience négative: I hired a personal trainer here. The first one flaked, the second one needed to learn some manners and people skills. I continued nonetheless for a month, and when I cancelled I still got billed for another week (3 sessions = 440$ after tax) even through my understanding was to go week-to-week and I gave one week's notice). I didn't do anything about it and still have 5 sessions to use up, but more than a month later, I got yet ANOTHER charge for 440$ and now it's a huge problem to get it reversed. little to no response. I have so much more to say about a few other aspects but this is the main thing.
Expérience fantastique: I always have a great time when I visit Crunch fitness in Waterdown. The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. I also had the pleasure of having Katie as my personal trainer which was amazing for starting off my fitness journey. Katie was able to help build a workout routine that works for me as well as get me comfortable in the gym environment (which was incredibly helpful in learning how to navigate the gym on busier days and still get a good workout in!). Katie made every visit to the gym a great time and really helped me stick to going to the gym and making it a routine in my life. If you get the opportunity to have Katie as a personal trainer you’re in good hands and I would definitely recommend her!
Expérience fantastique: Great facility with an assortment of equipment, free-weights, and exercise rooms. The change rooms, washrooms and showers are well maintained and clean. The gym offers an assortment of subscription packages to tailor to your exercise objectives and your wallet. They also offer professional lead classes, physio therapy, diet guidance and personal training at additional costs should you be interested. Overall I have no complaints!
Expérience fantastique: I have really enjoyed the laid back feeling of Crunch fitness. They keep it simple, it is always clean. The staff are friendly and great to speak with. I have only been a member since December but it has been a wonderful experience. I do recommend to everyone if they are looking for a no fuss gym this is the best one out there.
Expérience négative: I always had a decent experience with Crunch until I wanted to cancel my membership. I went to the online site and sent a message as it directed me to. A few days went by and no contact from them. I reached out via phone with the response of we don't take membership cancellations online/over the phone. I apologized as this is what the site directed me to do. She stated you have to come in to do this. No problem. I go in yesterday to cancel my membership and was given the run around by a gentlemen (possibly management?). He was asking inappropriate questions as to why I wanting to cancel. I stated I worked long hours and was honestly too tired to come to the gym after (not that its his business), he then questioned what I did for a living then proceeded to tell me that my work is not a proper workout. I explained I appreciated his concerns but again did not want to continue with a membership as again I have been paying for one and not using it. Overall, I am frustrated that I was questioned about canceling my membership and asked questions that overall don't concern this gentlemen. Perhaps, staff should be trained on customer service.
Expérience positive: Clean environment and friendly staff. Equipment is in good working order and if not they do get fixed in a timely manner. Can be busy depending on time of day. Not that it’s in the gyms control but the gym goers are courteous. It’s a nice environment. Feel very comfortable. They’ve added more classes and changed the schedule around which works out well. My only complaint was a section of the gym was always blocked off in the evening for a class when the gym was usually most busy but they’ve changed that. So no longer a complaint!
Expérience fantastique: I like it when it's empty
Expérience positive: All the machines are very well maintained
Expérience négative: “Cancel any month “ is a lie, still being charged, management doesn’t seem to care to resolve. What a bunch of scammers
Expérience négative: Scam Artists. Continue to charge their customers after attempting to close their accounts. Rude over the phone and have horrible customer service and manners. Deserve zero stars.
Expérience négative: Be careful when you register about the term/condition and the hidden fees. Also, sometimes they charge twice, and almost you are going to be in a long time-consuming process for a refund.
Expérience positive: One of the better discount gyms in the area. You shouldn’t expect an amazing gym but it has everything you would need to train and progress in the gym. Good for beginners to intermediates!
Expérience négative: Not a member yet and reading these reviews. Everyone has their own opinion i'll check it out in person. To all of you out there that got "ripped off" on Visa as long as you have tried to email them i'd do it more than once. Wait 15 days then call Visa to dispute the charges & 100% guarantee you will get your money back if it's legit! Done it before when iv'e seen charges to my card that were not supposed to be there! I want to join a gym again i can't workout at home no room & i get way more motivated at a gym.
Expérience négative: Came in ready to sign up. There was some confusion with the sign up price since when I was online it stayed the first month was free the sales associate called the manager to double check the promo. The manager actually did a good job of telling us the information but then the regional manager started yelling at us - he had no name tag on but I called later to see who it was and was informed it was the regional manager- he said we were only there to critique them and their website, when all we were doing was showing that what their website says and what their promo is does not match. His anger came out of no where no I don’t know if this was a racially charged attack or he is just an angry person. This is really unfortunate because the rest of the staff were very friendly and I would’ve been happy to join. But I am in no way supporting a company who’s higher management acts in this way.
Expérience négative: The staff barely know what's going on in terms of their gym memberships, class times, signups, etc. When I'd ask simple questions, for example signing a guest up for a class, I was met with confusion and zero answers. I knew more about the gym compared to some of the staff. Most of the time they're sitting on their phones. I was given incorrect information regarding membership fees. I was forced to pay fees I was told I wouldn't have to pay when I initially signed up...Even after clarifying 3 times with the front desk. My personal training session was also booked for the incorrect time which was initially blamed on me. When I did have the session, the trainer was unhelpful and insulting. The classes were okay; the YMCA has better classes, instructors, staff, equipment, etc. Save your time and money, and go to another gym. The YMCA is more expensive but has significantly better customer service, equipment, classes, and amenities.
Expérience négative: The equipment is old and service is neglected. Padding is missing on many machines that require them, so they become useless. Other machines (bench press for example) are very very flimsy, and it did hurt my neck once when putting the bar down. Another problem with this gym is how crowded it gets. Unfortunately for that price you’ll find that there are many younger people working out together in large groups so they end up crowding the gym just waiting for their turn. Not to mention the machine shortage. They only have 2 bench presses and 2 squat racks. We found that it wasn’t that much more expensive to cancel Crunch and join LA Fitness on Brant which is a 12 minute drive from Waterdown. We’re so glad we did.
Expérience négative: Why would they change it from 24 hours open to 6am until 10pm. Makes no sense. At least open at 5am and close at 11pm. So now they offer less and charge you more, went up from $10 to $15/month plus the additional yearly fee. So disappointed
Expérience fantastique: We go their because of Sachin best trainer
Expérience fantastique: Best gym you will find for the price. always clean, tons of equipment that's in good working condition. Hours are convenient. Never too busy that you’re waiting long unless you come right after schools out.
Expérience négative: Great gym and great staff, everyone very helpful, however the last 2 weeks I pay for a tanning bed for here and there, it's been forever the bed is still in service, I hope if members are paying they we are all compensated for this ? Iv had to pay for it at another place when I already pay for it.. not impressed at all, I'll be leaving this gym, there are alot better gyms then here, ill Take my money elsewhere
Expérience fantastique: Their personal trainer Marcus is a fantastic guy. Before I started working with him, I was 5'6", 150 pounds and could barely bench press anything. Today, I am 6'5", 260 pounds of pure muscle and can out bench everyone in my kids' kindergarten class. Thanks Marcus!
