Evolve Strength North

Expérience fantastique: Evolve North has been my home since the CrossFit gym I went to closed down shortly after Covid. Matt and his team are very friendly and helpful. They do a great job of keeping the gym clean and organized. The gym isn’t as big as their downtown location, but it is very well laid out and there is never an issue of not having the weights/set up or the space to do the functional fitness/crossfit style workouts that I enjoy doing. I don’t often interact with others, but both the trainers and other gym goers seem friendly and I’ve never felt uncomfortable here. If you’re looking for a new gym, I highly recommend one of the Evolve gyms.

Expérience fantastique: An excellent facility (shown here setup for an Olympic lifting competition) with lots of space and high quality equipment. There are a full range of services available from physio, to massage, to sports psychology, nutrition counseling, and of course coaching. The staff are helpful and courteous. I recommend this gym for those looking for something more than a commercial gym environment.

Expérience fantastique: I have been a member of Evolve North for nearly two years and I really enjoy it. There are is a variety of excercise equipment for an assortment of fitness levels, as well as a large Olympic weightlifting setup. I would highly recommend this gym due its size, as well as their hours of operation. It is very convenient to be able to attend during the day or ar night, according to your own schedule.

Expérience fantastique: Today was the first day I worked out at this gym. I'm on a 3 day trial period to see if I like it. Got to say, people in the gym are very nice and considerate, the gentlemen at the front desk was extremely helpful ( I'm so sorry I forgot his name) and showed me around. I did my workout and really felt comfortable at this gym. The equipment was awesome and I was able to do everything I needed to. This gym for me would work extremely well for my physical condition ( I am disabled and walk with crutches) and it is very close to my house! When I finished workout, I walked up to the front desk and I was asked how it went? I mentioned only one thing, and the gentleman responded with a smile and said he would pass my question onto management. So tomorrow March 19th I'm looking forward to going back!! UPDATE: I completed my 3 day trial and absolutely loved it!! So I bought a membership! The nice lady behind the counter Danielle, helped me with everything! Start of a Journey takes one step, and I'm really happy I get to start here!! Cheers, Scotty S

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been working out at EvolveStrength North for a few months now and all I have to say is WOW. The environment here is very very warm and welcoming. I would highly suggest to start working out here!!

Expérience négative: I walk in, and I saw at least 5 cockroaches and 2 mice. It was disgusting. The person at the front called me racial slurs and I found used tissues on the ground. The walls had small amounts of blood on them as well as snot. It was truly the worst place I have ever checked out

Expérience fantastique: I will support all the evolve locations. The north end, compared to the south, is very similar, just with some mild changes. Theblonger turf, something i didn't end up using during my week of use, looked like it was an awesome spot for a person to really push themselves with sled pushes and such. It appeared to be about double, maybe a little more, compared to the Edm south location. The gyms atmosphere is INSANELY inviting, and one of the things i like about Evolve is the lack of mirrors. Mirrors are distracting, and often, when used, can cause people to break form as they try to inspect themselves doing the exercise. Even though i was a member and informed the staff that this was my first time there, they still did a walk through with me, thus making the experience universal, which is great. Keep up the good work, everyone!!

Expérience négative: Update - now Evolve are threatening to tow you if you park at the back of the building which has always been the only option some days. Their recommendation is to park in the TD spots, which will also get you towed. Even the downtown location has dedicated parking. Update 2 - evolve also periodically closes for lifting competitions which is just a bit inconvenient but whatever. The problem is they make no effort to communicate with members. No emails, no FB or IG posts. Their only communication method is random posters inside which aren't helpful if you aren't there to see them before you show up and it's closed. Great gym. Super nice team working, great atmosphere, solid equipment. Decent change rooms, though they could be updated and cleaner. There is a real problem with a lack of parking as they are the only business without designated parking. And other businesses will tow you if you park in their spots, even though they're much less busy than evolve. It's not really fair to pay so much money a month and have nowhere to park on busier days. Until this is fixed, I wouldn't recommend coming here.

Expérience fantastique: I walked in to the facility for the first time and got a good tour from Matt. He showed me all the important things about this place and I’m getting eager to come workout. It’s a “no frills” gym for the most part, for those serious about staying fit. The assortment of free weights and bands are good. I’m not worried about waiting long times for equipment to be available as there is a lot of stuff.

It has everything you need for barbell sports from Eleiko bars and weights to IPF approved squat & bench press racks. The front end staff are welcoming and incredibly friendly. A special shout-out to Hannah as she is always pleasant to deal with and adds to the overall positive experience.

Expérience fantastique: The gym is really nice, and every-time I come here and visit it’s always clean (which I really like) and has a friendly atmosphere for anyone. My only (small) complaint is that some of the equipment has seen better days and makes me wonder when they are going to fix it (Reupholster etc.) Otherwise it’s a great gym overall and beats all the other gyms I have ever been to.
