Expérience positive: Great place, very clean and very organized. Has all the equipment you could ever need. The only feedback I could give is they gotta turn up the AC more. Maybe it’s an air flow issue in that building but sometimes it gets too hot to even work out, especially in the rack areas.

Expérience négative: I’ve been a GoodLife member for several years and originally signed up alone with my own banking information. Earlier this year I added my brother to my account at the front desk, but when he was transferred to B.C. for work shortly after, I went back and had him removed. Somehow, he later became listed as the primary account holder, which I addressed and thought had been resolved. I recently returned to the gym after putting my account on hold due to the death of my father. On July 17, I was charged my regular fee. Then on July 31, I was charged again—this time for both myself and my brother, who hasn’t been anywhere near the gym. I reached out to GoodLife July 31st as soon as I had seen I was charged again to fix the error and request a refund, I was essentially told to prove who I spoke to months ago and to provide evidence that my brother hadn’t been using the facility. This is incredibly frustrating, especially since you need a key tag to access the gym, which clearly tracks who’s entered. The burden should not be on me to prove an obvious system or staff error. I expect better from a company I’ve been loyal to for years. Very disappointed in how this was handled.

Expérience négative: Beware of GoodLife scamming I’ve been coming here for almost 2 years the first year was amazing had no problems or issues with anything over the past 8 months I’ve been double charged 4 times totalling $720 with the extra 25$ charge included if a payment is not received then getting a email being told I had insufficient funds after the payment was taken from my account and making sure with the staff that the payment was Received after the first time this happened even when I had thousands in my account and show proof of what’s happening they always shift blame I advise anyone going here to regularly check their accounts as they’ve done this to 2 other people I know as well who have both recently canceled the membership management doesn’t take any responsibility and always claims is the customers bank fault even with providing proof of payment and showing the double transactions the staff were amazing during my time there but the billing issues have made me leave I advise anyone considering signing up to watch out for this only started happening a year after going and noticed it when in a month they charged over 200$ for 2 weeks

Even though we both only came in for a one day pass she gave us 3 free days to experience the gym, she would let us “new” members experience the whole gym including the “recovery room” which was absolutely the best! Expérience positive: The facility and staff are great here. Kristina at the front desk was so kind and helpful. She helped me navigate the gym layout when I asked. Their general manager, Zoen, was super friendly as well. He introduced himself and let me know who he was and made me feel super welcomed since it was my first time at this GoodLife. The only thing that made me disappointed was that the only heat/cooling chair that wasn’t out of order, was actually no working but the front staff put in a maintenance order right away when I told them.

Expérience fantastique: I've been going to Clareview GoodLife and working with Alex Cordingley as my personal trainer since December 2024. The gym itself is great with lots of machine selection, free weights, squat racks, rowers, treadmills, stair climb etc. The recovery room is an awesome bonus, with a variety of massage chair, hand massages, and other cool things like pressurized boots for your legs to help with circulation. Working with Alex has been a fantastic experiance. He's been helping me to achieve health and fitness goals, lift heavier, improve mobility and posture. Since beginning with him and GoodLife in December, I've made major changes in my lifestyle which have lead to improvements in my diet, exercise habits, sleep quality, mental health, confidence, and self esteem, as well as the expected benefits of greater strength and just all around feeling healthier. I highly recommend this gym, and especially recommend working with a personal trainer for motivation, guidance, and support.

Expérience fantastique: The best in the city of Edmonton. Usually quiet outside of peak hours which is expected. It's always clean. Staff are active on the floor tidying or just interacting with clients (unlike other locations.... on the south side). Only downside is out of their control because it used to be a movie theater but the lack of windows in the free weight area makes it feel kinda jail like.

It's spread out; has a variety of equipment, group classes and pilates to allow for a good variety of workout styles. In January, I decided to enroll in a Personal Training program and Alex became my coach. I've had ongoing lower back issues and with the right training it's improved. I feel stronger and more confident. Alex is knowledgeable on both fitness, health and nutrition. He keeps me on track and encourages me to push my limits. He is a good motivator and keeps the program challenging, interesting and am happy with my progress. Thanks Alex!

I have been a member at this location for just over 6 months and have to say it's the best gym I have been to in over 20 years of working out. Even during standard gym 'busy' hours, I have noticed it never seems busy to the point where you are waiting on equipment. The hot yoga classes are awesome.

Expérience négative: I’ve been a member of this gym for over 5 years, it’s a shame to see how much it went downhill, especially since the new management team. Majority of the equipment has loose components and bolts, which can result in an injury one of these days. The temperature has been very hot for a gym making you feel sweaty before you even begin your workout, resulting in an uncomfortable atmosphere to workout in. Gym etiquette Is to wipe down equipment after yourself, which can be difficult at times as often the spray and paper towels are not replenished. Machines that are out of order take weeks to be fixed. In comparison to other GoodLife locations, this one has to be the worst, which is a shame. I have been voicing my opinion to other members of the gym who also have similar views. I believe there should be improvement from the management team.

Expérience fantastique: I'm a fat person who has had bad experiences at gyms and fitness/wellness programs in the past, and I was anxious and nervous at the idea of entering a fitness space when I first signed up with GoodLife. Now I'm 3 months in to personal training with Alex, and I'm incredibly impressed with the quality of service and professionalism I've received from not only him, but all staff I've interacted with at GoodLife Clareview. Alex has changed my perspective and outlook on exercise; he's keen to share knowledge, clear in his instruction and keeps it fun. So far it's been an investment well worth the cost. Overall it feels like the staff here are focused on social capital, forming positive connections with their customers, and they want to make sure you're getting your money's worth out of your membership, which is appreciated. The facility seems well taken care of, is clean, and has a good variety of equipment and machines. Definitely would recommend this location and the services they provide!

I didn’t appreciate it and it made me really uncomfortable. It’s not the first time this has happened with him either.Definitely not a great look for GoodLife. I won’t be going here during the day ever again

Expérience négative: 1 Star – Disappointed and Frustrated I’ve been a regular at this gym for a while, and it’s honestly gone downhill. The sauna has been broken for weeks with no clear update or urgency from management. This isn’t the first time either—it keeps happening. I completely agree with James’ review—this place has become a total joke, and the management clearly doesn’t prioritize member experience. I’m paying close to $80 a month, and at this point, the only “amenities” available are the showers and washrooms. For that price, I could be at Fit4Less or another gym that actually maintains their facilities and treats their members with some respect. If this is truly a parts issue, then why aren’t they stocking spares to ensure quicker repairs? It just feels like laziness or lack of planning. This gym used to be great, but now it’s clear customer satisfaction is no longer a priority. Unless things seriously improve soon, I’ll be switching to a gym—even if it’s farther—that actually cares.

Expérience négative: this place is ok in some ways, but sucks in other ways. Even though we now use MST, no staff has bothered to change the clocks, this is utterly irresponsible. Plus they put on loud music just to please some customers who need loud music (as if the customers can't bring in their own device). Hopefully some senior management comes in to witness the crap within this place.

What stood out the most was Adam’s genuine passion for fitness. His insights were practical and helpful, making it clear that he not only understands the technical side of training but also how to guide individuals based on their personal goals. He answered all my questions thoughtfully, never rushing the conversation, and ensured that I had a clear picture of how I could make the most of my time at Goodlife. If you’re looking for a fitness center with top-tier customer service and an inviting atmosphere, I highly recommend the Clareview location. Expérience positive: Edit review** It seems like the staff member has been engaging in conversation now and changed her demeanour which is very nice to see . The new equipment they have is very beneficial as they finally added a second smith machine, a hip thrust machine and a ton of squat racks/ dead lifting areas. The problem still exists where people are just leaving the weights around and walking away from the machine without re-racking and wiping down the machine. The personal trainers are friendly and very knowledgeable! Whenever I have a question about a workout I’m doing they are always there to help me! There is just one employee there that brings down the atmosphere from the rest of the staff which is pretty upsetting. I don’t know her name but she’s short and black and ALWAYS on her phone. Whenever I walk in to start my session she’s never at the reception desk, she’s sitting on the long white tables near it. She never greets me in (or when I leave) like the other staff members and If I ask for a towel after my gym session it’s like she’s giving me a bit of attitude like I’m inconveniencing her. The two stars has to do with the people who attend the gym and the amount of disrespect they have for the facility. Nobody puts away their weights when they are done, after using the bench press, squat machine or any other machine they just stand up and walk away without wiping down the machine or putting the weights back. The male locker room 80% of the time is a complete disaster with towels everywhere, water on the ground and powder on all the benches and counters. And the fact that there is one Smith machine in the entire gym despite the renovations is crazy as people are still using the smith machine for hip thrusts when the machine they added is available. When I need the Smith machine for 1 workout, I would go and complete my other workouts which are usually an hour and a half long and the same person would finally be off the machine. If they could start kicking people out of the gym or banning them for not putting the weights away, wiping down the machine it would make a world of difference to the people who respect the place. I don’t usually take pictures of the gym but man if they could start enforcing rules to people who are treating this place like garbage majority of us wouldn’t be thinking of joining another gym nearby.

Expérience négative: Imagine the owner of this place having no idea the amount of “supposed to be clients” being pushed away by an arrogant, rude condescending person they hired as receptionist or that who answers the phone. We would like to start going to this gym so I decided to give them a call first and inquire. Unfortunately “Eliza” doesn’t seem to be keen in aswering questions or help and just so rude the way she talks over the phone. Well hopefully the management will access your behavior because if not you will just continue to give bad impression to the business.

Want to extract every penny out of your account and do not want to accommodate. All I was requesting is a hold that I will be joining the gym next month and they did not accommodate. 10 year of membership I had with them and she rather cancelled my membership then putting it on hold for one extra month.. I mean Wow... AFTER ALL THIS AGAIN THEY CHARGED ME MEMBERSHIP FEES ON JUNE 26TH... VERY POOR WAY TO EXTRACT MONEY OUT OF CUTOMERS. HAVE NOT USED SERVICES IN 5 MONTHS AND YET PAYING AFTER CANCELLING.

Expérience négative: ha a recent incident with a sales representative named "Sarah" regarding possible racism. (this Sarah looks to be in the 30's) as a proud Columbian immigrant I have a thick accent when speaking English as it is not my first language, and I love speaking my native tongue with family and friends. During a recent visit I was with a few of my friends (who are also from Columbia). we were speaking our language together when we were informed that we should either speak English or go back to our country, and myself in particular should not be working out in the gym and instead be working in labor as my workout as I do not belong in the gym and should at least contribute something to society. I am unaware if this is because I am Columbian, or because of why i was dressed (I was dressed clean). or maybe it was my smell, (I work in an oil field, and hadn't showered prior to going to the gym). but this behavior was unprofessional, and extremely rude. PS. i do not wish for anything to come of this, surely this employee just had a bad day, but you cant make others days bad as well, but i am willing to give the benefit of the doubt for this person. i will not return in the future

Expérience négative: I cancel my membership because its conflict with my work schedule and no time for gym anymore, but they said no early cancellation. They still deduct 2 months until it was totally cancelled even though i didnt go there anymore . And also they didnt give me a free bag during registration as it was out of stock . They said they will just inform me once available. So sad been there for long time and finished my membership and didnt even get the free bag.

Expérience négative: This GoodLife is honestly so disgusting compared to other GoodLifes in edmonton. The disparity between this location and all the other locations is mind blowing. There is often no toilet paper in the bathroom stalls. The water that comes out of the sinks is always an odd powdery grey colour and has a weird odour. Often the equipment is out of order. The stairmasters are so old and often taped off for repair whereas brewery district has 10 state of the art brand new ones and I saw they’re getting even more equipment! I really hope they renovate and upgrade this location since it’s always so busy!

There are two rooms and one of them should be converted to a women’s only section. The cycling room has been a storage place for random fitness equipment that are outside. Given the large Muslim community in the area this is a huge oversight for this club. They have the space but are not catering to their community.

Two areas this gym can greatly improve on: - improving their social media game by posting holiday hours instead of reposting members twerking in the mirror, jk. But seriously. Please, for the love of God post holiday hours on the social media page as a post or a story indicating early closures or limited hours. Yes it’s posted on a sign in size 6.5 font at the front desk a day prior. - add a power lifting platform or two like how Goodlife St. Albert has one. PS, on a safety note for staff and other members. Maybe add a few more sharps containers in the men’s locker room. Closer to the large mirrors so that people don’t accidentally throw their “insulin needles” in the garbage.

But the north club is closest for me . I find the staff at this location is very nice & professional and deserves recognition for the hard work catering to the members. Emily is one name that jumps out to me when writing this due to her warm personality & professionalism when dealing with members!!

Expérience négative: Staff has no phone etiquette. Called for some info and employee answered by saying "Hello" as if she was answering a personal call. It took me a second to remember where I was calling because I thought I had misdialed. She hung up the phone without saying goodbye as well. It always seems as if we're bothering the staff when asking for anything.

Expérience fantastique: I recently became a member and I realized I had some issues with my bank. I brought this issue up to the GM, Chloe, and the problem was handled efficiently and effectively. Since I’m a new member, I find the gym to a very intimidating environment. Chloe went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. 5 stars from me.

PIERRE the pt is rude, Interrupts your set to as you to leave off a piece of equipment he is not even using. He has a bad name all through the gym Maybe if the personal trainers spoke to the regular members likely do their clients, the trainers there would get more business. Just because you're an underpaid goodlife Personal trainer doesn't give you the right to kick people off equipment (that you don't need , but it's to "busy" for you to be in there area) and act like a douchefluete. 2 stars cause Nelly rocks

Expérience négative: Across all GoodLife location in Edmonton this is without a doubt the very bottom of the barrel Aside from constant broken equipment, and overflowing syringe cases- the staff is the least professional I have ever seen. 3-5 stand at the front talking amongst themselves. Occasionally one of the young girls might greet a guy who she wants to flirt with. Everyone else gets a dirty look. This is not your local community gym. This is your dirty, Ill mannered high school gym with children working the front desk.

Brooke welcomed me and made me feel comfortable, she gave me a great tour of the facility but she also made me feel like I was checking out this new gym with a friend! I'm excited to start my journey and don't worry Brooke you won't have to call lol I'll be there! Thanks again The Facility was nice and clean and so were the locker rooms!

Expérience positive: Love the gym , but I'm not impressed that you buy their most expensive plan an they don't even have the things available in this facility an you're expect to go to another gym to use the Amerities ... Few things I don't like Is that the staff sure are joyful an all yet walk around the gym an cleaning supplies are always empty the paper towels are empty an their all at the front or hiding . I feel better coaching is needed an I only say this as I come from a gym on Vancouver Island where things were done a certain way an it worked an they didn't promote plans that weren't readily accessible

Expérience négative: I've been with them almost 3 months, and they charged me for every 2 weeks I payed $360. So their cost is overpriced. When I decided to leave and stop exercising there and canceled my training, they charged me still and take money from me, $1224 and I told them I didn't want to exercise there. The manager, Ashley is not a respectively person and shes rushy too when I called her. Asked her to give my money back but she didn't. Seems to not care about my concerns. I know many people who left this gym because of the rude environment. Personally though, my trainer was very nice guy. There gym and training stuff overall is good and they have many options but is a bit overpriced. But they seem to not care about canceling membership and getting things right and continue to get money from me. And I'm really upset about this.

Expérience fantastique: Awesome gym, one of the best in Edmonton. Every section is huge (cardio, free weights, machines) and nothing is neglected or compromised to fit something else in like other gyms seem to do. Also great locker rooms, lots of space. Prices are decent and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Seem to also have a lot of trainers available too.

I went in to pay with my debit card (including service fee) then cancelled my memberhip. They still took another payment out plus service fee. Bunch of crooks.

Expérience positive: I have been going to this gym for months and I think its ok. I chose this gym because its the only 24 hour gym that isn`t fit4less and because its closest to my house. In terms of cleanliness, for sure could be better. People here are nice and usually not too crowded. Sucks how its around at least $30 every two weeks yet I cant bring a friend. And there isn`t any hip thrust machines or weight machines more for beginners that make it easier on us. If there was another 24 hour gym that was good probably would be here honestly but still isn`t bad.

Expérience positive: Overall this is a very nice gym. Very nice layout, not too busy and friendly staff. The cleaning protocols could use some improvement tho. The change room tends to need maintenance and the equipment is a bit dusty.

Expérience négative: The gym is like my second home. But definitely not this one. Never clean. Staff is friendly but they don’t do anything other than talk and be distracted by their phones. I’m at the gym anywhere around 5-9. Locker rooms are always a mess. Lockers themselves are always a mess. People should leave their shoes at the door like everyone else, staff doesn’t say anything either. Gym doesn’t even have boot bags this year. Stalls have toilet paper flying around. Have of the time the cleaning solution bottles and the paper towel rolls are empty. Please do better at cleaning this place. Have staff do their job, get the janitor in before 10pm! Waiting for the gym on manning to open up and i’ll be the first one cancelled my membership at goodlife!

Expérience fantastique: A great place to enjoy your workout. There are a lot of machines so that you can enjoy your workout without waiting for others. You can enjoy the daily classes as well. In addition to the massage seats and dry sauna. The staff are very helpful.

Expérience fantastique: Amazing gym, highly recommend. Staff is always helpful and friendly especially the GM Chloe who helped me with getting signed up for my membership. Much better equipment and hours than other gyms in area!

Expérience négative: The support staff is friendly and the gym has what you need to reach your goals. However, the personal training program is not something I would suggest. I have been in personal training since June of 2022 and in the last 3 months I have had 3 personal trainers. This location has lost more than few personal trainers in the past 6 months. The turnover in this particular location has been less than ideal. I have recently expressed to the manager my displeasure in how things have gone for me these last few months and while she has shared some empathy towards the situation, I have not taken it to be sincere. I have only been told that there are many other trainers that would be willing to assist me in my training goals and I would better off with another trainer than on my own. Since the third trainer has put in their notice in I have expressed my desire to cancel my personal training program because the constant change is not beneficial for the goals I have set health wise. I wanted consistency and lately GoodLife has not been able to deliver that. It would seem that they value policy and contracts over people. I will have to pay out 20% of my contract just for peace of mind. I would rather not but that is the price of my peace. I would not suggest using this location for personal training. You’re better off finding an independent personal trainer and it will probably be better for your mental health as well. This has been a nightmare of an experience.

Expérience fantastique: Gym is massive with more then enough equipment/machines to go around. Only second to Brewery district in terms of size and atmosphere. Staff are kind and professional. Been going here for a few years and I always recommend it.

Expérience fantastique: I had the pleasure of getting help signing up for a gym membership with Dan. From the moment I walked in the door, Dan made me feel welcome and was eager to help me with my membership process. One of the things that stood out to me about Dan was how he broke down all the diffrent options and how we wanted to ensure I choose the right membership . He took the time to thoroughly explain the different membership options and answered all of my questions, making sure I fully understood everything before I made my decision. He was patient and helpful throughout the entire process, and I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. In addition to his excellent customer service skills, Dan is also a friendly and personable individual. He made me feel at ease and was always happy to chat and get to know me. I left the gym feeling confident that I had made the right choice for my fitness goals, and a large part of that was due to Dan's exceptional service. I highly recommend Dan for anyone looking to sign up for a gym membership. He is a reliable and professional employee who truly cares about helping members achieve their fitness goals.

Expérience positive: The gym itself is great. Good variety of equipment and lots of space. There are several issues I ran into going here for over a year. 1) staff do not seem to really care. They just sit at the desk and do nothing. Asked them to look at broke equipment and they did nothing. They let people walk into the gym with soiled outside shoes. 2) it is not the cleanest gym especially around the equipment an near walls. You can see visible dust,dirt and hair which stays for weeks sometimes. 3) the gym is overpriced as hell. the cheapest membership is $64 a month and I can get memberships as low as $15 a month elsewhere. All in all you should shop around before signing a 1 year contract which is also a hastle. Was told i get the $100 fee back after a year which was a lie.

Expérience positive: Nice staff and good weight training area. Only issue is they haven't gotten new machines since the first generation iPod. It's disappointing that the membership is as much as it is and the cardio machines are so out of date. Do better please.

Expérience fantastique: 4 months here Its my favourite gym in Edmonton. Clean, good equipment, great culture customers and staff. day reception Kimberly I believe is always on the ball. Manager Edgar is accommodating and nice. Location is very clean combination of staff and the folks that also use the location. Best part is most other gym goers at this location are beyond nice and helpful to new members tips spots and sharing equipment between sets. Equipment is in good shape and when equipment has been down they have gotten it fixed asap. Does get busy at peak times but for good reason as it’s a good location, with lots of people ☺️. Generally very clean but with any place that’s busy it can change quick with a few irresponsible patrons. Team here is quick to get it clean.

Expérience négative: The worst manager and rude staff, I have a membership with YMCA, Crunch fitness and Evolve strength I never had a bad experience like this. I will recommend to avoid this location.

Expérience positive: I really like this gym but have been getting sick every time I go there… I’ve been to other gyms and feel fine after so I’m wondering if anyone else is having the same experience??

Expérience négative: It's a good enough gym for my needs but the staff does not enforce gym rules. Some of the rules they don't enforce are mask wearing when not using equipment (ie walking around the club), cleaning of equipment before and after use, removing soiled footwear upon entering club. If not for a work discount I'd go to Millennium Place in Sherwood Park or try the City of Edmonton club.

Expérience négative: Staff are nice and friendly. But I been to other GoodLife fitness facilities but this one specifically had the most disgusting washroom in the city. Very smelly and bathroom stall look like a war zone in there. What happen to following covid cleaning protocol ? Maybe AHS should come and take a look at it …

Expérience négative: Gym is good, staff is terrible. Personal trainer (pierre) threatened to kick me out so i decided to leave this gym. Not the first incident with him. I go to the gym to relax and let out stress not to deal with this horrible customer service. Just joined GYMMVMT!

Expérience fantastique: I have been coming here for 4 years, the GM Chloe, AGM Chance, and the rest of the entire staff are always working hard to ensure everyone is welcome to work on their goals in a safe, encouraging, professional environment. They handled lockdown restrictions well, they have very knowledgeable front desk, cleaners, personal trainers, and fitness sales advisors that are helpful with anything you can think of! The facility itself is packed with equipment, hot yoga and group class studios, massage chairs, shower and towel service, and a hot sauna! EXTRA THANKS to the angel who saved me from dying in hot yoga once!!! I look forward to many more years here!
