Expérience négative: Terrible company , they overcharged me a month of training even though I canceled it and said I would get the money back. Six weeks and counting still no money. This isn't the only thing they have messed up. They don't care about their customers at all. Lowered my gym membership to a lower tier to make up for lost money that I need and they charged me for that too...

Expérience fantastique: Review - Personal Trainer Arman My husband and I have had just three sessions with Arman so far, and we’re already really happy we started. From the beginning, he took the time to assess where we’re at and then pushed us just enough - challenging but never overwhelming. We really appreciate that he saw what we are capable of and didn’t let us coast. Each workout has felt purposeful, and we both leave feeling like we actually accomplished something. Expérience négative: Giving worst service and speaks a lie during when i go to get the membership then they asked me i can cancel my membership anytime as well as asked about a offer which is include 2 months free membership that time they charge 55 dollars and when i cancelled my membership then again charge $107 so called anual fee. Before buying the membership they don’t asked about any anual fee. When I cancelled my membership on 1 july again They deduct 2 extra payment from my account. I never see that kind of worst service of any gym in my life.

Expérience fantastique: I've been a member at Crunch in Welland for 3 years and have found it to be a good gym with a wide variety of high end equipment and very helpful staff, particularly at the front desk. There has also been a noticeable update of equipment recently including a couple of massage chairs - a very welcome addition! And a special shout out to personal trainer Adam. I first worked with Adam about a year ago to help me with an exercise program that would not aggravate, and later on would help with, some sports related injuries. I found him to be dedicated, easy to talk to, encouraging and very knowledgeable. He put together a couple of packages to work around the injuries and made changes to these routines as I made solid progress. I'm very please with the results and would highly recommend Crunch Welland.

Expérience fantastique: I first had a membership with crunch when they first opened and recently got my membership with them again because of how much I loved the environment at crunch. This time around i decided to do personal training as i had lost a significant amount of muscle and struggled with getting enough food into my body. I met with Nassar first and he listened to my goals and immediately had a person in mind who could help me achieve my goals. I started working with Arman and in only about 2 and a half weeks I have noticed my muscle growth and my body starting to react normally again regarding food. If you are looking for an environment that will help you reach your goals crunch is it and if you want or need someone to assist you with those goals then Crunch is definitely where you want to be.

Expérience fantastique: When first starting at this gym I was very intimidated and shy, until I started working with Nasser and Arman for personal training. These two are so passionate about what they do and always establish such a professional relationship while aiming to help me accomplish my goals set in place. I’m only at week 4 of my training and have witness amazing growth in the gym thanks to them. Would highly recommend this gym and these trainers if you are looking to start your fitness journey!

Expérience négative: Loved coming to this gym the vibes were great everyone was friendly but unfortunately I won’t be returning. I paid for personal trainer (8 sessions) costing over 500$, we did about 5 or 6 sessions max.. at initial booking I specifically said I would see how it goes with the 8 sessions to manager and then If I want to continue I will book again (more sessions).I took a break from gym due to moving. I still have sessions left from my first payment..last month another over 500$ came out of my account, and then this month another 500$.. so I paid over 1000$ for nothing and I didn’t appreciate being gaslighted on the phone claiming I agreed to it and him remembering the conversation, which I certainly did too and it was very disheartening to hear his recollection was very far from the truth. Not sure if a refunds coming, but it didn’t sound promising at all. I strongly suggest you go somewhere trustworthy. Scamming is not the way to go to keep clients for the gym nor personal trainer who is a kind lady.

Also $87.86 were charged as annual fees, but wtf is that for? You cannot cancel the subscription in 2 months and when somebody came to you that they don’t want to continue you just charged $87.86 then refuses to refund. Can you please resolve the issue other wise i have to take a legal action against you. Expérience fantastique: Just wanna give a shout out to Gabe at the Welland crunch fitness ..he is an awesome trainer… Patient and very encouraging. I highly recommend him… He’s created great exercises , training and diet exercises for me.

Expérience négative: Don’t come here to often but when I get the chance to everytime it gets worse and worse. It is very hot in the gym, no AC whatsoever. The equipment is falling apart, the padding on the machines are all torn, the cables stick and it’s almost impossible to actually work out on these. Way too busy in this gym and can’t keep up with proper maintenance and cleanliness of the gym. Canceled my membership as fit4less is way better as a whole

I have called and emailed and spoke to managers and still I just checked and money still coming out of my account. Scammers thieves. Expérience négative: absolute worst gym ever Don’t ask or get a personal trainer, don’t believe in what they say cause they’ll say anything to get your signed up with them. All they wanna do is make money , and if you’re new to a gym and don’t know what you’re doing … look into it before going to this gym. They pretend like they know what’s good for you , but really they wanna get as much money from you as possible. Highly recommend staying away.
Expérience négative: Tried this gym out on a 30 day free pass, I signed up with PF instead, this place is very compact and they play music extremely loud all the time. Why would anyone want to go there? You can hear their music over or in the background of the music that's in your own headphones. It's ridiculous. All of the staff seem like they hate their job as well.
Expérience négative: Do not waste your time signing up here, it’s a crap shoot. The equipment is often broken and weeks before repair. More importantly the manager Jason is a terrible manager to be running this gym. He is very - make you feel bad type of person, tries to make you look stupid when reaching out for equipment advice, equipment breakdowns / functions and also billing. I do not recommend the gym nor do I recommend dealing with Jason. Terrible, will never go back. Also read the fine print before signing memberships.. they like to get their money from you after you cancel.

Expérience négative: Me and my wife both signed up for the 14 days for $.14 and after five days, only one of us are charged a $25 charge and then the company refused to do anything about it telling us they told us at the calendar that we get charged separately and a whole bunch of other ridiculous stuff I would just say avoid the headache not a good experience at all front desk clerk child to pull heavy on you when you’re on the phone kind of cute.
Expérience négative: I thoroughly enjoy the low monthly cost and convenience of this location, I am really starting to hate going tho as there is little to no equipment, overflow of cardio, the workout space feels squished and crowded. I'm tired of how overcrowded such a small space feels. It is almost impossible to get in a proper workout here. It's a 11.99$ monthly fee but every so often ( 2-3x /yr ) they withdraw 160$ without consent from your account.

I did not feel i was treated well and perceived judgment in the responses i received. I found each interaction hurtful and felt unfairly judged throughout just because I’m a young black man.

Use at your own risk, and definitely provide them a fake email address when you sign a waiver. The marketing as been on robo-dial and the marketing team is uneducated. Comes from the top. Protect your personal information and enjoy the cheapest gym in ontario, hope you never need a first aid kit.

Expérience négative: Everything is always scheduled for service, the abduction machine has been scheduled for maintenance 4 months ago… meaning what? you can’t do a proper leg workout in this place. The following pictures were taken on a single day of all the machines broken scheduled for service. Another machine scheduled for service 3 weeks ago, this gym is a JOKE.
Expérience négative: I would give 0 stars if possible! Okay but dirty gym. But I haven’t been able to get around to them to cancel my membership. Tried to email them and the owner pretty much ignored it and was dismissive. They said initially they would swap me to the cheaper plan after my initial trial LAST YEAR yet they’ve been charging me over $30 a month since! UNBELIEVABLE. Going to have to try to dispute the transactions. They proceeded to try charging me $67.79 for an annual fee for a membership I had tried cancelling all the way back in December of 2023. UPDATE: Sent back and barely forth some emails because I am not getting spam called by Crunch Fitness' call centre due to them ignoring my initial cancellation. The call centre lady that had called me kept speaking over me and I thought they were talking about my phone plan being cancelled and did not identify otherwise about 5 minutes into that call after me repeatedly asking who was calling and what company. She never gave me her name and was disrespectful the whole call raising her voice over me as explaining the situation.

I joined up at this location because it was close to my work assignment I had at the time and since my membership allows me to visit other Crunch Fitness location it did not seem necessary for me to switch my home branch because I still do work in the area from time to time just not has much as I use to when I initially joined up. My recent interactions with the company have been extremely frustrating. Despite multiple attempts to make a payment on my membership, I've been unable to do so. Since I live in London and cannot simply drive 2 hours to make the payment in person. So, I thought I would be able to make the payment via over the phone or at the very least at another Crunch Fitness location closer to me. I was told by an associate, the company only accepts major credit cards when making a payment over the phone which at the moment was not feasible for me due to other circumstances. I've tried making the payment through their mobile app, website, and even at another location, but none of these options have worked. For some ridiculous reason I was told I would have to go to my Welland Ontario home branch which is again approximately 2 hours away from where I live and that will be the only way. To add insult to injury, I've now been charged a late fee that is nearly the same cost as my membership fee. This feels unfair considering the difficulty I've faced in trying to pay my membership using other payment methods but was unsuccessful. I’ve also inquired about switching my home branch closer to me so I can go in person and make the payment but unfortunately that too I cannot do until I make the payment, so I’m back at square one (cannot use the facility but still be charged late fees). I am extremely disappointed with the lack of flexibility and customer service from Crunch Fitness.

They would not let me cancel my membership via the phone or email even though I was out of town for work. I was lied to several times. The gym is in serious decline and will do anything to nickel and dime you.
Expérience positive: Pretty good besides the AC being piss poor some days. They are pretty good woth trying to fix equipment and replacing attachments. Also quite clean

Expérience négative: This gym is such a rip off. Incredibly money hungry with little regard for their clients. I signed up last year for a 6 months personal training session. I was paired with a less then capable training. Which showed up late, ended early, didn’t have a training schedule, always guessing at what should be done, constantly on her phone, talking to other clients during my paid session. She offered me a personalized meal plan which I paid her $275 for and never received over the 3 months I worked out with her. Eventually I went to management and explained the situation and how I was scammed for money and no happy with my trainer. She was fired and they pretty well said too bad about the almost $300 I gave her. I was paired with another trainer who got into a car accident and couldn’t train, I was on hold for 3 months waiting, he wasn’t back within 3 months so they offered another trainer during the day which I work, so they expected me to change my work schedule to come to the gym. I was eventually after 9 months since starting my training paired with an amazing trainer named Kailan (only good thing about the gym) but I have come on some hard financial times and I could no longer afford the almost $500 a month for training so asked to cancel. I offered paying a cancellation fee. I begged for anything to be out of this “contract”. They offered nothing and told me I would be sent to collections if I didn’t pay. It’s insane actually, that when I signed up I went through this awful experience, they couldn’t find me a trainer and couldn’t hold up the end of their contract, but I’m expected now a year later to continue a contract I can no longer afford (if I had gotten a good trainer form the beginning I would have been financially able to continue). They charged my card today for over $100 which they weren’t supposed to until July and I now have to pay an over limit fee on my credit card as well I now do not have grocery money for myself and my son. They don’t care. They will do nothing and will not work with me at all. All they care about is money and I’ve heard this from many people who have gone to this gym. Highly recommend against going here.
Expérience négative: Crunch Fitness has a wide selection of machines and various workout equipment with an affordable monthly price. This is where the good things about Crunch Fitness end. You can see how run down this place is before even setting foot inside. There is a window that has been broken for months (years?) and their solution was to build a wall on the other side, while rain/snow gets in and surely creates a future mold issue. They must have used all their building materials making the wall, because there are multiple holes in the walls inside that have never been puttied, nevermind fixed. Once you actually walk in, you're greeted by a bunch of shoes/boots that have been there for, again, months. Last week, a can was added to the collection, which I'm sure will be a mainstay, greeting customers for months to come. Crunch offers a water refill station, which is covered with salt stains and obviously hasn't been cleaned in a long time. The seal to the wall is cracking, with residue growing along the seams. Below it is caked on dirt, which is a common theme throughout the establishment. Almost any corner you look in has dirt, as the only cleaning that occurs here is a quick vacuum every morning. Nothing is washed or scrubbed, and obviously hasn't been in a long time. Luckily I have little use for electrical outlets at a gym, as most of the covers on them are broken, if it isn't just an open hole in the wall. I'm no electrician, but I can't imagine this is remotely safe. Speaking of broken, I hope you don't have a favourite machine because it's likely to be broken. No less than 5 machines are broken at any one time, and they stay broken for weeks at a time before they get fixed. How are all these machines breaking you ask? Because people slam the weights down, and the staff do nothing about it. This leads to many broken machines, and machines that "work" but don't function properly. And beware of rolling dumbbells, which are also dropped haphazardly then roll into other people's areas. Need to clean up after your workout? Don't worry, Crunch has you covered with broken paper towels dispensers carrying the cheapest brown paper towels on the market that do an amazing job of spreading the unlabeled cleaner they provide, which I'm pretty certain is water with some dish soap. But don't worry if you can't clean up after yourself, since most members don't wipe down machines, again while the staff do nothing. Judging by the stains and grim on the machines, they haven't been cleaned in a long time. Thinking of cancelling your membership? No need! They'll just keep trying to charge you even after you cancel your membership or personal training! Who doesn't want to spend $20 on getting a stop payment from your bank? Switching gyms from here is like leaving an abusive relationship, Crunch taught me all the things I will not tolerate from a gym. Thanks Crunch!
Expérience négative: My spouse and I signed up a couple months ago. There were machines broken and signs for repair on our first day, there still broken. Since then many more machines have broke down, are stuck on high weights or have very worn out pads crumbling. They do not maintain the equipment. Wish I had read the reviews about this before we signed up. If you want functioning equipment try another gym in town.

Expérience négative: I started a 6 months program with a personal trainer. The personal trainer was good, but change In my life, make I could not loos weight. So I decided to stop the training, figure out the problems. When I asked to stop the program they told me best they can do is to put my program on hold. Doesn't matter if I loos my job, or get sick they expect me to pay for the 6 Months program. I offer to change the contract from 6 month to 3 months, and I will pay the difference. They refused to do anything, they want me to pay for the 6 months. They do not understand what customer care is. They 're have no understanding of the long-term benefits to keep customer happy. Instead they are looking for short-term benefits to make money. I was planning to comeback when time and money was right,instead I will found an other place where customer care has a meaning.

Expérience négative: Gross gym. All equipment is dirty, stained, torn, broken or defective. The walls are dirty with holes in them and panels missing. No organization what so ever lol all the weights and dumbbells are just wherever on whatever or just on the floor chilling. I’m embarrassed to even say I go here but they have a wider range of equipment than planet fitness which doesn’t matter because half of it’s broken. This gyms a joke

Expérience négative: Poor customer service. Lack of customer care. Lack of administration.Employee do not do what they say they will and have no accountability with managers or owners. Snowbirds go elsewhere too expensive to put your account on hold. After asking Joe to cancel my account ( he insisted on a hold not caring what my family was going through, not putting his customer first). I was put of town dealing with serious family illness he did not follow through. Caused me more stress and financial issues because they proceeded $30 twice at my bank. When I called him (Joe to ask him why I was billed again.Joe was the rep I spoke to that assured my issue had been dealt with) he told me that Jason Davidson the owner wouldn't care about my complaint to have a nice day and hung up on me. So I had to charge the institution with fraud at my bank. Do not let this untrustworthy business access your bank account. I once a crunch gym fan am never doin business with them again. Life comes up. Joe has shown me that customer service reps at this people oriented business don't care. My advice go to a gym that puts what the customer needs first. Instead of worrying about a membership. You should be more that just money to a health and wellness club.. Poor customer service ,care and No reachable administration. No accountability for employee customer relations.
Expérience négative: Not sure what happened to this gym. Critical equipment such as power cables and ab machine has been down over five weeks and no response from management about the status of the repairs. They keep telling you they don't know. Its looking more and more like a low class gym. Music is too loud during group sessions and truthfully the genre of the music that is constantly played is rock and metal. They need to diversify their music genres to include pop, hip hop, techno etc. I feel like the condition of this gym is deteriorating.

Expérience fantastique: Very friendly staff, always greeted leaving and coming in. Very clean. Although it can get pretty busy during peak times like 5-8pm
Expérience négative: Dirty gym and thiefs to top it off, any positive reviews of this gym is clearly paid for or fake accounts to boost the rating, highly recommend staying very far away from this gym, jason a terrible rude manage and openly admits he does not care about the members or stealing from them.
Expérience fantastique: The owner is really helpful! He helped me pick a membership for my needs and took the time to get through the registration at what seemed to be the busiest time.
Expérience négative: Excessively loud music playing during a workout class that runs in the open gym area. Asked the lady running it to turn it down. She in turn was very rude and told me to leave the area as the people pay for this. Jason the GM was no help, and said they pay for it nothing he can do. I explained I have a hearing issue and it’s not helping. I understand they want music no issues with that. I don’t think it needs to so loud that it overpowers my headphones. Again my hearing issue I won’t use full volume. Either Jason was ignorant and the lady running the program was absolutely rude. Canceled and moving on to a new gym.
Expérience négative: August 2025 update: - Fees have gone up to $15.99/month, however, there is a hidden $2/month service fee which is not specified anywhere. Given that they are withdrawing from a bank account and not a credit card, there's zero reason to have a service fee so this is just a sneaky way of charging $17.99 which happens to be what Planet Fitness is now charging. - Most of the broken equipment has been fixed but there are still a few pieces which are unusable. Jan 2025 update: - New "toys" in the gym such as two massage chairs and automated paper towel dispensers - However, many pieces of equipment continue to be broken for weeks (if not months) on end with really basic issues such as snapped cables. There are more broken stair climbers than functional ones. Jan 2024 update: - Fees have gone up by $2 per month as has the annual maintenance charge... However, many pieces of equipment are "scheduled for repair" (see new photos)... Another update: - I have had zero luck getting refunded my initial payment on a monthly plan after I switched to a prepay in full for the year. Two visits when the manager was in and filling out the contact form on the Crunch Canada website has yielded nothing. They can process credit card payments so why can't they process a refund?!? - While the equipment issues I had posted about in my last update were finally resolved, one of the only two leg extension machines has had its cable broken for at least two months. It is ridiculous that they don't have someone fixing and doing preventative maintenance at least once every couple of weeks. UPDATE: dropping one star from my rating as many equipment maintenance issues haven't been addressed for months. See photos... Original Review: Good variety of equipment, fairly clean, good overnight and morning staff. You can't beat the price and compared to the Crunch I used to go to in Mississauga, this one is a palace. The free weights, cardio and weight training equipment is all fairly new. Lots of squat racks and multiple cable stations so other than the late afternoon or early evening there shouldn't be issues with getting in a full body workout. There are at least four triceps pull down ropes (not sure why the other reviewer only found one) and most of the members who work out in the early morning are good at wiping down the equipment before and after their use. When a piece of equipment is broken, so long ad that is mentioned to the staff it is usually fixed fairly quickly. The exception is one of the two hand dryers in the men's locker room - that has been broken for months. I don't trust ANY gym when it comes to preauthorized payment so I just prepay once a year and I don't worry about being charged extra.

Too bad I already have a local membership elsewhere but I both commend and would recommend this gym based on good principles and fantastic customer service.

Expérience positive: So, I don't know what gym most of the one star reviews are for, it can not be for the Welland location. Yes the equipment does need repairs, 98 % of the stuff works. I have not had any issues with the Crunch Gym in Welland. It would be nice if the work out class is going to be going on in the area people are exercising, that they close the gym for an hour or keep the excessively loud music they use down (rock concerts are quieter)

Expérience fantastique: Early morning hours, 'I have run of the mill'. Very large, very clean and friendly attitudes. Most people just mind there own business.
Expérience fantastique: HITT classes are great! because the instructors who teach; Alyssa and Rhonda are excellent at training us with enthusiasm, dedication and example, they motivate us to work harder and give our best every class.
Expérience négative: Terrible music, staff aren’t really attentive. HITT classes/instructors aren’t mindful of the other members - blasting loud garbage music and occupying the turf and heavy bags when it can take place in the group fitness room.
Expérience fantastique: Welcoming environment, phenomenal classes and engaging instructors. This is a huge win for someone who’s never been into working out but since joining I’ve been able to go consistently for a year and it’s something I genuinely look forward to.

Expérience négative: Very clean facility, friendly staff and the equipment all works. If you cancel your membership, make sure you close your bank account or they will continue to withdraw money from your account, and the manager does not respond to emails or calls about billing issues.
Expérience positive: Great gym, just need a place to do classes that doesn't take equipment away from other paying members. Can't use the sleds , punching bags..ect when a class is going on.
