Expérience négative: I’ve been a member of this gym since 2022, paying $26 per month (including tax). However, starting in August, they began charging me double — $42 — without any prior notice or email communication. When I contacted them, they simply said the fees had increased, which I find completely unprofessional. The gym itself is very small, with limited equipment and a poor location. The service is terrible, and there’s hardly any value for the money they charge. The only reason I stayed this long was because it’s close to my home. Today, I’m cancelling my membership and would not recommend this gym to anyone. Definitely the worst gym experience in Cambridge.

Expérience fantastique: I have had a membership here for over a year. Lovely gym and equipment is usually available if it isn't peak times. I have heard the horror stories of trying to cancel a membership, but that was not my experience. Josh was extremely helpful and courteous and I was able to cancel my membership in under 5 minutes by going into the gym. A great place! If I didn't have a home set up I'd still be going.
Expérience négative: I joined this gym thinking it was a good deal, but their cancellation policy is very unfair. They don’t explain the terms properly in advance, and when you try to cancel, they charge you for an extra month. Felt like hidden fees. Be careful before signing up

Expérience négative: I was a member at Crunch Gym Studios back in 2020, and I cancelled my membership that same year (I have both text and email confirmation as proof). Despite this, they continue to randomly withdraw money from my account years later, which has caused bounced payments and unnecessary NSF fees on my end. Each time, I’ve had to go through the hassle of dealing with my bank to block these charges, only for Crunch to claim I still have an “active account.” Years will pass with no charges, and then suddenly they’ll take another $60 out of nowhere. On top of that, they continue to call and harass me about an account that should have been cancelled years ago. Managers ect have contacted me and keeps telling me it's closed. This behavior feels deceptive and unprofessional, and in my opinion, it’s nothing short of a scam, they actually owe me money at this point. I strongly recommend avoiding this gym unless you want to deal with endless billing issues and frustration.
Expérience négative: DONT. SIGN. UP! I have been scammed by them for over $400. They are going to be getting sued. I cancelled membership and a year later started charging me the maximum price every month. Biggest SCAM of a gym.
Expérience fantastique: Im back and fourth between the 2 crunches in cambridge and this location has the best front counter staff by far. 5 stars for such a friendly and welcoming bunch.
Expérience positive: I’d like to give a huge shout-out to David at the Galt Crunch Fitness on 89 Main Street. He has outstanding communication skills and top-notch customer service. Every time I walk into the gym, he greets me with a warm and friendly attitude that makes my day better. David is always willing to help, answer questions, and go the extra mile to make members feel welcome. It’s such a pleasure to see him at the front desk — he truly makes the gym experience even better. Thank you, David, for being amazing!
Expérience négative: Been coming here for better part of 5 years. Never had any issues. Today (July 31 12:35pm) front desk workers couldn’t have been more unaccommodating. Gym was empty, and they were adamant I couldn’t book a 30 second scan. “There’s a process...” is what I was told. Empty gym. 3 workers. Standing around. Doing nothing. Excellent job guys. Way to treat your long time customers with class.

She went through medical issies and a location move but theu rejected her requests to cancel and charged $745 MONTHLY TILL DATE. How bad does this business have to be to ensure to sign up clients for contracts but not allow them to cancel for real life changing reasons and continue to charge hefty amounts?

Expérience fantastique: Viki is an amazing trainer! She really helped me with my form, which was my biggest concern. She’s super knowledgeable and also so easy to talk to. I felt comfortable and confident right away. If you’re looking for someone who knows their stuff and makes you feel good doing it, she’s the one!

Expérience fantastique: Over the last year I have come to enjoy my time at Crunch. The staff is welcoming, polite and always available for you, in particular Heather, Kevin and Tyson are a great part of the experience. The gym is clean and the equipment is well maintained. Although some machines are out of commission for an unreasonable amount of time, which could be avoidable. Overall, highly recommend!

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful spacious gym with some different equipment such as the belt squat machine and the standing glute machine. Def worth the drive from Brantford to use this facility.

I like that they have an access gate for members; especially given the part of the city that it's in, and the extras like the massage chairs and hydrotherapy are A1 after a good push

BUT, beware of this place because so often they ripped you off especially when you canceled the membership. I read so so many comments, posts on fb that crunch fitness ripped them off and there's NO contact for their HQ in case if something happens. They will charge you then tell you "oh I forgot to tell you there's an additional fees" when it was NOT in the paper. They will also attempting to take hundreds of bucks then try to convince you to use the "credits" when they are one messed it up. Yeah it happened in Cambridge and one in kitchener. So beware and make sure you reading everything before you sign up as a membership. Have a nice day
Expérience négative: Would never recommend this gym or Crunch in general to anyone unfortunately, Just recently canceled my membership due to issues with my membership and lack of customer service around finding a resolution. Got charged a late fee for a card that expired in November in March after having 3 payments withdrawal from that card. Make zero sense. Ryan from head office said he would get back to me and never did. David at the front desk is probably the only thing this gym has going for it. Give that man a raise!

Expérience négative: This place is GROSS. The changerooms/washrooms are dirty all the time. The machines are dirty and are falling apart - I've never seen one get fixed or replaced. To charge almost $40.00 for the highest membership is insane. This is one of the only gyms downtown Galt and they could make a killing here if they treated it like the gym in Hespeler. Not to mention, there are no classes at this gym so don't bother paying the extra for the membership. The few classes they do run start at noon and finish before anyone is home from work - makes absolutely no sense (instructors are not fitness people either). I've tried to email in complaints and cancel my membership through email and have NEVER received a response. This gym needs to do WAY better.
Expérience négative: Gym is majorly over crowded will spend half your workout waiting for equipment to become available. I recently went into this location to cancel my membership, at this point I asked staff to pull up all remaining payments. The employee told me I had #1 remaining payment for $20 something! Fast forward to yesterday when I get a notification that I have been charged an additional $56. When I called they said they will not remove the charge even though they failed to inform me of this when ask prior. Save yourself some time and money go anywhere else
Expérience négative: Overcharge the monthly rates and then try and bill a yearly fee AGAIN after a couple months because they messed up the billing and need to reset things in the system. What a scam, who knew fraud was legal, just need a gym to pull it off
Expérience fantastique: Great location!! Did a 6month PT package with Christine. She is no longer there but she is phenomenal. She worked me hard and helped me achieve my goals. She helped me feel more comfortable with the gym and the equipment. She set me up to succeed in my new "gym" era. I miss her greatly. Brandon is also another trainer. He is always up to motivate you even though your not his personal client. I appreciate all his kind and encouraging words. Def helps to keep you going when its one of those hard day. Gym wise this is a great location ample parking available people are so nice and friendly I always get a greeting as I come and go. Happy with all the new staff so many fresh friendly HAPPY faces. Machines are great but of course some get wear and tear from just general use and abuse of members but the padding is always being replaced and fixed quickly. Cardio machines is another story especially the threadmills. They are OLD. Most of the time a couple will be out of service. Most have tape holding them together or emergency strings broken off. They def need an update. Love the new massage chairs ! Great addition to the hydro massage beds. I have no real issues or complaints. Its a good gym with great members and staff. Only 2 suggestions I would give is 1. extended the gym hours. Weekends close at 5pm sucks. 2. Open houses - the djs playing extremely loud music and the people talking over microphones is horrible on those days.The most recent open house that took place wasn't nearly as bad thankfully. I have visited the Holiday Inn location as well which is nice and def a newer facility. It's a larger gym and has newer machines and equipment. Just not as convenient as Galt for me.
Expérience négative: Gym is situated in downtown Galt in a great spot. This gym has cleanliness problems. Benches and equipment are stained and have not been properly wiped down. Being a regular patron for a lot of years the bathroom is NOT cleaned properly. Beneath the urinal is NEVER cleaned. People stand in this and then track it all through the gym. Think twice about stretching on the floor.. I would recommend Holiday Inn drive or the Waterloo facilities.
Expérience négative: The people are great here from all the staff other then a lady called “Avalon R” do a fantastic job from their personal trainers to their front desk staff. They always greet me with a positive attitude. Sadly I was banned for speaking my mind to and older person who mis understood what I was doing at the time. Yes they both accused me of wrong doing without any evidence and also while I have 3/4 witnesses they still banded my time at crunch Gult. I feel with all the defamation that has now gone on to my name I should take legal action but they are not worth my time or my money. For some reason I feel targeted just because how I look, I find it ridiculous how I was targeted and when I haven’t done any wrongdoing other then denying faults allegations.

Felt betrayed. I will rewrite the review if you bring back punching bag. By the way Waterloo Crunch is awesome.

Expérience négative: Signed up and was given a three month free promo. Then ended up getting charged month one and a late fee when I wasn’t even expecting a payment… talked back and forth with staff and their manager (who now is gone) and was told if I stay I get a bunch of perks for free, but when I chose to leave I was charged cancellation fee and got no refund for the $60 I was wrongfully charged. What a joke of an establishment.

Expérience négative: Gym can be crowded and the employees will blast music at an unbearable volume. The employees customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Will rarely get a welcome greeting or goodbye and will often get annoyed glares and scowls when entering the gym. Employees also don’t have control over the tvs as the manager will lock the remotes in his office. The gym is nice when clean and if you can get there when it isn’t packed. Gym is passable 4/10
Expérience négative: Worst customer service ever!!!!!! I have been a member for almost 1.5 years now. Started my PT in January by stating to enroll in the 3 months contract and due to irregularity of trainer didn't completed my classes on time. Due to that didn't completed my 3 months on time and they charge regularly on my account. So have to chase down the PT manager there to fix the issue. So after I’ve been a member for almost 1.5 years. I started my personal training (PT) in January with a 3-month contract. However, due to the trainer’s irregularity, I couldn’t complete my sessions on time. Despite this, they continued to charge my account regularly. I had to chase down the PT manager to resolve the issue. This resulted in two extra months of PT that I didn’t want. I thought the issue was resolved in May, but it wasn’t. After the PT manager left, the deductions started again. I tried calling the gym for help, but no one responded. I had to follow up after three days and eventually got the email of the VP of PT. I’ve been trying to contact him for the past three weeks with no response. After two weeks, I spoke with the gym’s GM, who said he would contact the VP of training and get back to me, but again, no response. I’ve had to reach out repeatedly with no resolution. If I could rate this gym, it would be in the negative.
Expérience négative: Cleanliness is an issue at this gym. Change rooms smell really bad and you can see dust all over the lockers and floor. Other than that avoid this gym in the evening as it gets really busy. Also they only have two squat racks (one that's full cage) which sucks.

Expérience négative: Gym is alright but don‘t bother going in the last 2 hours before closing. The Employees will harass you out of the gym 30 minutes before with obnoxiously loud announcements every 5 minutes and either turning the music off or so loud that it becomes a health hazard. Worse than a night club loud. Absolutely ridiculous.

Expérience positive: Great space if you come any time before 2pm otherwise it is PACKED! Really wish their were a few more machines including stair climbers and squat racks, and another cable machine, but the space is pretty maxed out. The space and change rooms are very clean, I cannot speak to the tanning or hydromassage. The staff however is extremely welcoming and will always say hi and bye to you, I appreciate it! Update: Added more cable machines, stair masters, added their yanga water dispenser, and updated some paper towel and soap dispensers - so great! Would love it if the hours were extended, especially on weekends!

Expérience positive: Reasonably convenient and very clean. Machines have some wear and tear. It's on the second floor and gets hot during the summer - especially during the day, so they need to set the ac a bit higher. My biggest complaint is that the music is WAY too loud. Most people, including myself, have their own. I had mine cranked and still couldn't drown it out. Needs to be turned down!!! May 2024 Edit Since the introduction of their $10 membership fee, Crunch has gone downhill. Constantly kids there using it as a hangout spot, taking up multiple areas/machines, sitting on benches on their phones, taking videos, etc. Terrible. The staff does nothing about it. My 45 minute workouts become 1 hour+ because of this. Crunch corporate: PLEASE do away with the $10 monthly fee! Otherwise, I'm gone!
Expérience fantastique: Love this gym. Different vibe, and very much like a family. Everyone on the staff is extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Always greeted with a hello coming in and a goodbye on my way out. Even the people who attend the gym are friendly and will offer help or a spot if needed. Affordable plans as well. Crunch Galt location is a great place to go get it done cause everyone has the same goal in mind. Get fit, strong and healthy.
Expérience négative: I recently witnessed an alarming incident at [Crunch Fitness Galt] where the manager (Lawrence McNeil) displayed highly unprofessional behavior towards my friend at the Gym. My friend, who has been a loyal customer for quite some time, was unjustly pushed out of the gym without any valid reason by the manager on 26th April, evening. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and goes against the principles of customer service and respect. Not only was my friend embarrassed and upset by this treatment, but it also reflects poorly on the overall atmosphere and management of the gym. Customers should feel welcomed and valued, not treated with hostility and disrespect. I urge the management of [Crunch Fitness Galt] to address this issue promptly and ensure that the manager, undergo proper training on how to handle customer interactions professionally and respectfully. Until such changes are made, I cannot in good conscience recommend this gym to others.

Kids on laptops doing homework in the change room, sitting at machines and benches just chatting or on there phones for over a 20min (maybe do 1 or 2 sets in that time), taking half naked pictures of each other (probably for grindr), and machines always broken do to being mistreated. Hard to get a good workout in unless you go when they open or just before close. Update: I have have asked crunch fitness to cancel my gym pass. They told me I would be charge another month plus a year fee of $85. This gym will scam you for any penny. Fernando is a great guy though and needs to find a job at a better gym.

Expérience négative: Crunch itself is an okay gym. Affordable, good locations, etc. However, very scammy in terms of pricing/fees and general pushiness when it comes to memberships. I wanted to cancel my gym membership after being pregnant because I was going to be postpartum I wasn't going to be going to the gym for a while and gave me the hardest time about quitting. They give me huge guilt trips and it basically took me three different attempts to get them to cancel my membership, oh and by the time this happened, they added their extra yearly membership fee and additional fees so I ended up paying almost $100 for a final month. Fun times, crunch.

Fernando is frigging excellent and so invested in the personal fitness and overall health of his clients; he has already gone above and beyond for me. Expérience négative: *SCAM ALERT* Guys! Save your money. This gym doesn’t not provide clarity on the charges they are going to do on your card when you register with them. They do not disclose this information about the cancellation month fee and the annual fees. We registered for a monthly plan of 14.99 plus taxes and during the registration they do not mention about any additional charges even after asking them. I was going to move out of Cambridge so decided to cancel my membership and did before the next month due. They charged me money for that month stating it’s a 30 days cancellation policy which was also not informed during registration. Next day I also received an email stating il be charged for another month with the 69 dollars membership fees. We went to talk about this and the staff member mentioned this is the policy and when we insisted to talk to the manager she wasn’t in yet and asked us to email her but clearly mentioned they won’t be able to do anything but you can try. Such a bad experience with the entire gym policy. Il have to pay 2 months fees which is 18 dollars and 69 annual membership fees 105 for noting.
Expérience fantastique: One of my favorite places for a good work out, you can be you, no judgement, everyone is on there own personal goals, wether new or just starting too get into fitness it's a great experience
Expérience négative: I visited Crunch Fitness today because I was thinking about joining. But after I met a staff member named “Waverly”, I decided not to. She was very rude to me, and it made me feel unwelcome. It was about 7:30 in the evening, and I was ready to sign up, but the way she treated me changed my mind. I didn’t expect to be treated like that. I think the gym should know about this so they can make sure it doesn’t happen to others. I won’t be joining because of this experience. I hope they improve their service.
Expérience négative: Was made to wait over an hour to cancel a personal training sessions, that I required and had an appointment to do, management (Nina). This place just wants to take your money go elsewhere.
Expérience fantastique: I have been going for 8 months and love it. The front desk staff are so nice as well as the people at the gym. It can have its busy days, but as long as you are flexible, I have never had any issues. Tons of free parking, which is great for a downtown location. Change rooms are clean and large. I have never had an issue getting a locker.

Expérience fantastique: Just started going to this gym last summer and I’m not gonna like I already love it here. I wouldn’t go to any other gym except this one even if they offer free memberships. The staffs are so nice, especially Waverli and Alejandra. If you’re thinking of signing up for a gym membership, this place is the best for you.
Expérience négative: Poor gym service and rude staff. You're better off at Fit4Less. From my perspective, the customer service has been subpar, characterized by dismissive looks and an overall lack of assistance when seeking help. What's even more distressing is the perceived racial insensitivity that has tainted my visits, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere that contradicts the positive gym experience one should expect. Addressing billing discrepancies has proven to be an additional challenge. Despite reaching out to the billing department, the issues persist, and attempts to connect with an on-site manager have been futile. The lack of resolution or even acknowledgment of the problem is disheartening. In addition to these issues, I must express my dismay at the body shaming experience I encountered with the fitness instructor named Nina. What was supposed to be a "complimentary" session to review my health turned into a deeply uncomfortable encounter. Nina took it upon herself to conduct a BMI test and proceeded to make inappropriate comments about my weight, suggesting that I needed a personal trainer to lose weight. I understand the business aspect, but such treatment of clients is unacceptable. I've conveyed these multifaceted concerns to the front desk staff, requesting a callback from the manager. Unfortunately, my concerns appear to have fallen on deaf ears.
Expérience fantastique: In my seven month journey, coming to this location has never felt like it’s been a hassle. The atmosphere is a very pleasant and welcoming environment, which never fails to bring inner comfort to my being. All the staff I’ve encountered has always brought a positive and helpful attitude, which is very heartfelt considering this world’s constant battle against positivity. Places like this one makes me believe in the collective and keeps my morale high for the possibility of a better future.
Expérience négative: Save your Xmas & NY RESOLUTION money. Tiny smelly,dirty,machines r utterly disgusting & always need repair/replacement. Pathetically unprofessional culture top down. Just signed with FIT4LESS state of the art operation & new location @ Dundas&Franklin. Save yourself from egotistical scammers and a possibly contracted disease WISHING I COULD LEAVE ZERO AS A GRADE LIKE THE REST OF YOU. GOOD LUCK

Expérience fantastique: I have been coming here for about a month and am enjoying the place so far. It does get busy (even in the early morning), but everyone is respectful, and I am able to make quick changes to the workout if a station is busy. So far, I can't complain.
Expérience fantastique: I am so impressed with Giordan, I have been having sign in issues and he sorted it out in no time at all. Despite the gym being busy with many members coming in, he maintained a friendly smile and helped everyone. He greeted everyone and requested them to wait. Thank you, Giordan Great job.!!!
