When I first signed up, Patrick was incredibly helpful and friendly, making the process smooth and easy. Later, I decided to try personal training with Addison, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Since working with Addison, I’ve seen amazing results. Expérience fantastique: I’ve been a member at GoodLife McKenzie for a while now, and it has been a fantastic experience! The gym is well-maintained, spacious, and equipped with a great variety of machines and free weights. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with any questions. A special shoutout to Patrick—he is always super helpful, professional, and encouraging. His positive attitude makes a big difference, and he truly goes the extra mile to ensure members have a great experience. The gym never feels overcrowded, even during peak hours, and the cleanliness is top-notch. I also appreciate the group fitness classes and the overall positive atmosphere that keeps me motivated. Expérience négative: I have been going to this gym for about 8 years now. I only attend classes. All the trainers are very professional. Thanks to all the trainers for their work! But the receptionists or those who just walk there around are considered to be gym workers.., are absolutely useless. They are not orientated to the information about the gym ( specially Larissa). Not knowing the correct information, they give us false information, which leads to disappointment on my part. These staff are not focused on their work, even if they have been working there for several months. The manager is never in this gym since she only works from home. The assistant manager works only on weekdays. So if you have problems or questions on Saturday or Sunday, NO ONE will help you. One day, I noticed that two girls at the reception were eating food from plastic containers while clients were entering the gym.

Expérience positive: I love this place. Very lowkey compared to 130th, whole reason why I go here One thing that I dislike about this gym is one of the workers at night. Seems to not acknowledge many people who walk into the gym. They would rather be on their phone while someone walks in. This overall gives a pretty sour taste in my mouth, a simple greeting can go a LONG way. They often try to close the gym by 9:50 and already have all the lights off by then. I’ve worked front desk at a gym and it’s really not hard to smile and at least know who’s going though the gate. LOL.

Expérience négative: The gym is clean and equipment is nice. I hired one of their personal trainers for a year and would start at 6 am a few times a week. The trainer called in sick about 20 times that year. when the year was up I wanted credit for his no-shows and they said no. Once they have their money your no longer worth the effort. I wouldn't recommend using their trainers.

Expérience négative: Ignore you when you want to cancel your membership, called and was told to email in about it, emailed and my email went ignored for 5 days, emailed back multiple times, called back and was told the manager was not in that day so they couldn't do anything until she was back. Had to just call GoodLife customer support and get them to handle the cancellation

Expérience négative: Changing my rating for this place from 5 stars to 2 stars, I used to go there a long time ago and few weeks ago I stopped by and I thought I might give it another shot since I left to The Y because of my kids wanted to be there for the pool and the big basketball gyms, now my kids all grown up and I decided to see if it is still good, I had to go through the whole process asking all these silly questions about my info and my goals and so on , although I told I have been there and told the whole story. At the end the manager said “no” sorry you can try it not even for one day

Expérience fantastique: I have been coming to this GoodLife location for over 10 years and the staff is great and always super friendly. Today, I was accosted by a very rude, racist man who would not leave me alone. When I refused to engage any further with him, he complained to the manager, who agreed that I had done nothing wrong and whom I asked to please tell the man to not speak to me again. This experience and the man’s behaviour were strange and quite shocking, so I’m happy and thankful that the manager was understanding and dealt with the situation respectfully and professionally.

Expérience négative: I didn't have a great experience. First, when I checked in, I asked a question, and the manager threw the associate under the bus. The gym is smaller, which is fine but the layout was cramped and didn't make sense (i.e. the leg extension machine on the opposite corner as the Flexion machine and the leg presses). There are also not enough dumbbells for the space. Once I was done the workout, I found bugs in the shower. If you have time to drive the extra 5min to the one on 130th, do it.

Expérience négative: This gym is way too hot. It’s summer now not winter anymore. Please turn off the heat as it is hard to have an effective workout without feeling faint from the heat and large windows with sun shining in.

Expérience négative: My boyfriend’s lock got cut open and someone stole about $1000 worth of belongings from his locker (including his wallet, puffer, and watch). The staff said they would call him upon looking at the cameras, but no call was received. The day after, my boyfriend had to be the one calling them to get an update rather than them reaching out. Feels like something more could have been done on their end, since this happened on their facility . A bulky puffer jacket was stolen and I feel like that would be hard to miss on camera. A lock cutter could’ve be hard to conceal as well. It’s a quieter gym and he went during a not-so-busy hour. It clearly wasn’t busy since no one noticed this person cutting a whole lock. I understand there’s only so much they could do, but staff should be more aware of these occurrences and have better protocols and security cameras to avoid this happening again. Police can’t do anything unless there’s evidence such as security footage.

Expérience fantastique: Friendly staff and usually less crowded than the bigger 24-hour gym on 130th. Interior is a bit older, but the ability to use most any machine during peak times and close proximity to home makes it a great alternative for a quick workout when my schedule coincids with it being open. I frequent both this and the 24hr facility and like them both for what they "bring to the table."

Expérience négative: I had the unfortunate experience of being a member at the McKenzie Towne GoodLife Fitness location, and I must say that it was nothing short of a disappointment. From day one, this gym seemed more interested in robbing you of your hard-earned money than providing a quality fitness experience. First and foremost, the equipment was consistently in a state of disrepair. You would think that for a membership fee of $130 a month for two people, they would at least ensure that the machines were functional. But no, it was a common occurrence to find broken machines, and they never seemed to get fixed. It's like they were too busy counting our money to bother with basic maintenance. We had a scenario where the gym weighing scales in the bathroom which we were using to weigh ourselves and up until we asked if it was working they did nothing about it. It read 10 pounds or so lighter. We bought 2 other scales at home because we assumed the gym scale was correct - but no, no one had checked it in months until we mentioned it! The hygiene situation at this gym was appalling. The place was filthy, and it felt like they hadn't cleaned it properly in years. The staff, or lack thereof, were another source of frustration. It often seemed like no one on the premises was actually working. You'd find employees loafing around, chatting with each other, or even worse, engrossed in their phones. It was evident that customer service was not a priority for them. I guess that's the reason you'd see change in staff frequently. Trying to cancel your membership was an exercise in futility. You can't just walk in and have a conversation with someone at the front desk. Oh no, you have to send an email and then wait for a reply. And let me tell you, the waiting game is strong with these folks. I would advise sending multiple emails to increase your chances of getting a response. All in all, McKenzie Towne GoodLife Fitness was a complete rip-off. For the exorbitant price we were paying, the subpar facilities, lack of maintenance, and indifferent staff were unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering a membership here to think twice and explore better options in the area. This gym is a clear example of how not to run a fitness center. PS. My husband owned a gym in Ontario - Mckenzie towne fitness I wouldn't even give you a 1 star only I have to!

Expérience négative: Going on 1 year of a giant pool of water at the entrance of the bathroom sauna and shower, it's unavoidable. You will slip, your socks will get wet and I have no idea why it hasn't been fixed or anyone is accepting of this paying full membership fees. Not cool guys spend some money and get it fixed thanks

Expérience fantastique: I went in a couple days ago to sign up at Goodlife as I'm super sick of other gyms offering nothing for what you pay for. My boyfriend signed up a couple days earlier, super easy process and all good to go. When I came in, I was lucky enough to have Louissa (I'm sorry if I spelled that wrong lol), and she was an absolute angel. She went through the whole thing, asked me all of the questions, told me about PT etc... and just made signing up an overall great experience. She wasn't pushy or aggressive with anything, and she made me feel extremely welcome in the club. Louissa, you were an absolute pleasure to deal with- so thank you !!

Expérience fantastique: Marc-Andre Alain (personal trainer) - simply, THE BEST! I can't say enough about this excellent human. He basically "healed" my lower back aches (along with physio of course) and increased my motivation to get my training and health in top order. His knowledge is superb, his energy and positivity is contagious and not a session went by that I didn't absolutely love and feel amazing thereafter. He is worth every dollar and I hope he never leaves this gym. God bless & much luv to Marc!

Expérience fantastique: I love this gym, and find it a great alternative to 130th (also a great gym, just gets packed.) McKenzie is less busy, always clean, equipment is always working or quickly fixed. Great RPM classes too. Happy with this gym for sure :)

Expérience négative: I’ve been a member here for over 2 years. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Unfortunately their cardio gear is not in good shape and rarely gets looked at. The entire first year 4 out of the 6 bikes had faulty bearings and rode terribly and 2 of the TVs were broken and never fixed. I suffered from a herniated disc and was out for a year only to return this month and have 2 bikes completely out of service and 2 of the others with faulty bearings! For the $1000 annually I spend for my wife and I I would expect Exercise gear that works! Do better!!!!

Expérience positive: The only complaint I have is that it gets crazy busy in here a lot of the time. (I don’t even bother going between 5 & 7pm) But the equipment is great, lots of variety & extras offered. I see a lot of gym influencers and coaches here, makes for a different kinda vibe.

Expérience fantastique: I have just recently come back to Goodlife McKenzie Towne, after a bit of a break during you-know-what. I am absolutely obsessed with Spinning and how good it makes my body feel, so it was a natural option to do these classes at GLMKT. I find there aren't that many great spin options in YYC SE, that are affordable, well-run and community-oriented, so I am happy to have found this space again. A huge effort is being made to bring the community together, make the gym a clean and welcoming space, as well as bring great offers and fun to not only new members, but also EXISTING members. I really appreciate that!! So happy to call this my gym!

Expérience négative: Running on the treadmill 20 minutes in had a member interrupt me causing me to almost wipe out, because of "improper foot-wear" Legit some of the people here are awesome. But there are more than a few that are arrogant, inconsiderate of peoples saftey and space. Who does that?

Expérience négative: DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! STAFF TELL YOU THERES NO CANCELLATION FEE AND THATS A LIE! Months ago when we wanted to cancel our membership they offered us to freeze it instead and informed us that we can cancel it later with no penalties. Months later when we wanted to cancel our membership they told us there's a cancelation fee. We had two accounts we wanted to cancel. We went there in person to cancel them. A month later I received a notice saying my account freezing was about to end. So on the phone I was told by them that I can cancel my account but I'll again have get charged with a 30 day notice fee because they don't have a cancelation fee. So they wanted to charge me the period in between my FIRST CANCELLATION NOTICE and now. Which makes no sense since they have "FORGOTTEN" to cancel my account and thats why I had it for another month. Nevertheless after a discussion I had it with them I was informed that I will not be charged the fee. A BUSINESS WITH PRACTICES THAT'LL PUT PHONE SCAMMERS TO SHAME. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. CONSUMER PROTECTION WONT HELP YOU AND YOU'LL BE LOSING YOUR DOLLARS FOR NO REASON.
Hi Alp, we can confirm that our memberships do not require a buyout to cancel (personal training within binding does however). All we require is 30 days notice for cancellation. If you feel an error took place, please contact the club manager to look into this further for you.

Expérience fantastique: This is the place to start your workout. You can go to any location for working out, but you must start your membership with Goodlife Mckenzie. All staff including manger and assistant manager are super supportive.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been going to this location for about 3 months since I moved to the area. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The gym is well maintained and there's always plenty of room for everyone. The assistant manager, Brandon, who signed me up for GoodLife is always on top of things and has plenty of insightful advice. Alongside his professionality and capability at his job, he's also become a great acquaintance at the gym. I recommend this location to anyone considering to sign up for a gym membership at GoodLife.

Expérience fantastique: I'm already a member/volunteer at the YMCA but I looked for a second gym closer to the office, for lunch hour workouts.After checking out the facilities in the neighborhood I chose GoodLife Fitness.The reasons why I chose this gym are the cleanliness, the excellent staff (in particular Jordan and Dustin), the nominal $100 early-cancellation fee, the fair monthly rate and reviews from a few people that I spoke to in the gym.I've seen some bad reviews, but my experience was positive, fair and professional. Hoping for new locations in the North.
Expérience fantastique: I’ve been going to this location for about 6 months. The staff is always friendly and responsive to any questions I have. There is always enough room and I never have to wait for machines or weights. I recently had an experience where I (accidentally) locked my key in my locker - they went out of their way to resolve this issue for me. An employee ended up going to their other location to get a bolt cutter so I was on my way quite quickly considering the circumstance. Would recommend this gym to other new gym goers in the area.

Expérience fantastique: My husband and I love coming to this gym . The facility is nice and clean, has a huge variety of equipment and everyone is super friendly, especially the front desk staff. Octav is so lovely and is so pleasant when greeting us every morning. Highly recommend this gym!

Expérience fantastique: Very nice people and the gym looks very nice I just signed up today and it looks amazing and everyone there seems so nice and was very nice when I was getting my membership setup. Gave me a good life fitness bag and everything.
Expérience positive: Great gym with all the basics when I want something close by and don’t want to drive to one with a pool etc. Good layout, very clean. Had to take a star off for the showers tho. Teeny cheap heads are like 7’ off the ground with zero pressure, takes me like 10 minutes to rinse out the shampoo and I unfortunately prefer to shower at the gym as I go to work after.

Expérience négative: Really disappointed by their customer service department! 'd call it lack of training. I left a watch at the this gym which was worth $150, and I get it its not super expensive. I was told the watch is there, I can come get it whenever. I even gave my name,(not sure if they cared). I called in after a month and apparently it was still there according to 2 of their employees I spoke with, but the GM said he has never seen a watch like that. Called the loyalty department, and was told I can escalate this situation. Called them again after a week after no follow up, and guess what lol? Next person I spoke with says there is nothing called escalation in such matters. I understand it was my fault too, which is why I'm not too mad about it but the fact that nobody was on the same page was what threw me off. I can obviously afford another watch, but it all comes down to the principle. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! There's a lot of unemployment out there right now Goodlife, I'm sure you guys can do better!

Expérience négative: Feels like they don't really want people who use the gym daily to go there, they would be happier if you had a membership that you didn't use at all. You can really tell they took government money to get through lockdowns, they made masks mandatory before the government did, and they impose harsher restrictions than the government does.

Expérience positive: Really nice facility but super annoyed with the schedule. Showed up Friday at 6am as online states the gym opens at 6am. Other people were also sitting outside in their vehicles waiting for the doors to open. Tried calling around 6:10 and the phone kept ringing. I had to leave and drove to canyon meadows to get my workout in so I wasn't late for work.

I use to go to the canyon meadows location and had nothing but problems with there daycare. Even talk to the manager and nothing was done about the three incident involving my son been hit by a child

The front desk staff, management, and trainers, are all helpful, professional and super friendly. The gym work out areas and women's change room/washroom are extremely clean.

Expérience positive: One of the best gym cultures in the city. It is small but it has quality members and staff.

Expérience négative: For the love of god don’t sign a contract there if you ever plan on cancelling. It’s 250$ no matter when you cancel, even if you become handicapped and find yourself unable to use the facility they will still charge you 75$, don’t sign the contract.
Expérience positive: Dean is amazing for Spin!! Love going to his classes on Saturday morning, he's motivating and makes it so fun! As far as a regular workout, I prefer the Stephen Ave location as there is a bit more room to workout. But the staff at Mac Towne are nice!
Expérience positive: It's a nice gym. Staff is friendly. Place is clean. It can get busy at peak times (3 to 7pm). It is a small gym. I would like to see a complete mezzanine instead of just the existing half space. It would allow for much more equipment. 2 small complaints: There are 7 TV's but they only have 4 things on. They duplicate the screens. I don't know who chooses the stations, but the business network at the gym? Give your head a shake. It's my wife's #1 conplaint. My old world health had 12 tv's and 4 music stations I could tune into. This needs an upgrade. Another pet peeve is something always seems to be broken and for longer than it should be. Otherwise a solid 3 stars.

Expérience fantastique: Higher end feeling location for sure. Feels new and looks great! Little on the smaller side though and the equipment seems squished in there a bit.
Expérience fantastique: would like to acknowledge the General Manager Gordon , and all his staff for going above and beyond to make sure my experience with goodlife has been nothing but great. Even when a situation occurred that would displease most people, and something he very well could have brushed under the rug, Gordon went out of his way to make sure to rectify the situation and never leave a client displeased. Im extremely happy with the service that has been provided by this staff.
