It’s a family and close friend run business, so much so that everyone smiles, says hello and remembers your name. The equipment is amazing, everything you need for a good workout and the facilities are extremely clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Durham ultimate fitness to friends and family… or even a stranger.

I’m gonna find everyone of these people that dealt with the same issues get a group lawsuit and call some media channel and try and get this blown up so they stop doing this.

Great staff and they make you feel welcome every time. They both greet you with a smile and ask how your day is going. The gym is clean, amd so are the change rooms. The steam room is awesome extra perk. The last thing that sold my son on joining this, gym was the protein bar and all the different protein balls. They all have been delicious! I have been to many gyms over the years of my fitness career and this is by far the best one yet.

Expérience fantastique: I just finished my work out this morning and the staff attended to a man in need outside in the parking lot. Homeless or not the staff came outside, he had been laying on the ground, it was wet, his clothes were wet and he hadn’t eaten. To say that this gym is fantastic is an understatement but to see this type of kindness and concern for another human being was truly amazing. They took him inside and made sure he had a smoothie or something to eat. Man, there is still hope in humanity. Bravo Ultimate fitness for showing the ULTIMATE compassion for a person in need. I’ve been a member for over a year now and over that time I’ve seen constant change with equipment, services, renovations, etc. I wish this place was a little larger. Peak hours here is extremely crammed and usually makes for longer workout times due to having to wait for equipment to free up. My overall experience with this gym has been positive and I would recommend it to anyone.

Expérience négative: MUST READ******** WARNING: Absolutely Ripped Off – Shady and Unethical Business Practices I went into Durham Ultimate looking for a simple day pass. I was told the day pass was the same price as the month pass, so it just made sense to get the month. Fair enough. Then I was walked through a contract and explicitly told I could cancel anytime. Based on that, I signed—only to find out later that what I signed locked me into a full year of payments. I've now spent two months trying to cancel. Every time, it's a nightmare. They dodge responsibility, refer back to the fine print, and basically say, “Too bad—you signed.” I was pressured into signing something under a completely false impression. I was flat-out lied to. I never would’ve signed a year-long contract if I had been told the truth. What they’re doing isn’t just shady, it’s unethical. Misleading customers into long-term contracts by telling them they can cancel anytime is a disgusting business practice. Extremely disappointed and honestly angry. I’ll never go back, and I’ll warn anyone I can to stay away from this place.

Expérience fantastique: I absolutely love Durham Ultimate Fitness! The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and supportive—not just from the staff, but from everyone working out there. From day one, even as a total beginner, I’ve never felt out of place. I spent about 12 weeks training with a personal trainer to get comfortable with the equipment and better understand different exercises and routines. Tyler is an absolute rockstar—supportive, knowledgeable, encouraging, friendly, genuine and funny, too! He truly cares about your fitness journey, and it shows. He’s been an amazing motivator and a huge part of the progress I’ve made so far. As I continue working toward a healthier lifestyle, I’m super grateful to him for always pushing me—so I could learn to push myself. The gym has tons of equipment, and different areas for classes, lifting, etc., which is awesome. That said, it can get a little tricky to access some machines during peak times. Occasionally I’ve noticed groups hanging out around equipment without actually using it—but that might just be something that happens at most gyms. All in all, I can’t recommend Durham Ultimate Fitness enough. The gym, the staff, the trainers—everyone’s amazing!

Expérience fantastique: Switching from GoodLife to DUFC was a no brainer. DUFC is a family-run business with fantastic staff, especially the front desk crew! The gym equipment is good, but some of it is dated and in rough shape. All-in-all you'll find the equipment you need to get any workout done on your plan, which is a plus. The gym crowd is great, humble, and there's always someone willing to spot. There's obviously the odd ball here and there but what can you do. Would definitely recommend this gym to anyone, and you can do a day pass for free if you just drop in.
