Expérience fantastique: Durham Ultimate Fitness is unquestionably outstanding. First and for most the staff here are very personable, they genuinely want to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The staff make the effort to remember your name so they can welcome you accordingly. This gym is immensely clean, floors are always vacuumed and mopped, machines are in pristine condition, the change rooms and bathrooms are always spotless and they play great workout tunes to keep you motivated! If you are looking for an affordable gym with friendly staff, amazing equipment, and a positive atmosphere look no further!

Expérience fantastique: Switched to DUFC when I moved to bowmanville in 2022. It was awesome from the start and an easy switch! They are constantly working to improve the gym with expansions and new equipment. They have the best staff who are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. DUFC makes going to the gym the best part of my day!

Expérience fantastique: Astoundingly clean and organized gym. Plenty of equipment, but not crowded. Great ventilation and natural lighting. My only complaint is that it was a little hard for me to purchase or enquire about single-day passes online prior to my weekend in Bowmanville. However, I would still give them five stars because once I simply showed up in person, they helped me out and set me right up with a day pass! Excellent example of customer service. Overall, I would recommend this gym over any of the other chain gyms in Durham.

Expérience fantastique: I got lazy during Covid, saving the world from my couch. Covid 19, turned into Covid 29, and eventually Covid 39. I had to do something. New to Bowmanville, I set out and visited a number of fitness locations in the area. I wanted to have access to the typical stuff, free weights, machines, and cardio. You get that everywhere. I really needed a personal trainer to help me gain some momentum. I also wanted access to group classes/training since this has often pushed me in the past. I read a lot about HIIT so I thought I'd like to try this at some point (not ready for that yet, but maybe soon). I choose Durham Ultimate Fitness because with this gym I can have access to all of this, and more, including a nutrition expert to help me get my eating on track. I decided to join in November (2023) and have been so glad I did. I have been working with an excellent Personal Trainer (shout out to Jenn) who is pushing me hard and encouraging me with grace. Jody is helping me to keep my eating on track (although I still have a tendancy to self-sabotage from time to time). The atmosphere is excellent, non-judgemental, and clean (great job John). This gym has everything I want and need and more. Thanks to all the team at DUF...love this place! PS, I just started enjoying the amazing steam room as well!

It’s spacious and offers so much high-end equipment, while maintaining a supportive, safe and encouraging atmosphere. The staff are all so kind, motivating and professional. Expérience fantastique: I'm a member here and I cannot recommend this place enough. The new set up is amazing and they did a brilliant job in making it what it is now. The new machines are great to use and are really well maintained and clean! That goes for the whole health club. I'm really satisfied with the service I get there and the staff are really nice and easy to approach. The owner is great and really knows his stuff about health and fitness and how to keep members happy and provides what they need. He's actually on the floor most days making sure that everyone is satisfied. I can't recommend it enough. If you're in the Bowmanville, check them out! From beginners to elite athletes, you can't find this kind of service from the big box gyms, and I've been in gyms around the world. Jason

Expérience fantastique: I joined Durham Ultimate Fitness in May 2023. I came from a chain gym that offered classes so coming to Ultimate was out of my comfort zone. As soon as I started I was hooked. The staff are incredible and the clients are so friendly and helpful. This gym is like one big family who support each other. Late Summer 2023, after working with Glenda and Jody I made the decision that I was going to take my fitness to the next level and challenge myself. I decided I would prepare myself and step on stage for my first bodybuilding competition. Glenda was my coach and began working me through grow phase and then full prep to get me up on stage. April 27th I stepped on stage for the first time after almost a year of hard work. I ended up placing 2 first place and 4th in my classes. The sport is a lonely one but I couldn’t have done it without the overwhelming support I received from the staff and members at Durham Ulitmate Fitness. They made the tough days bearable and gave me the pushes I needed when I was struggling. If anyone is looking at becoming the best version of themselves with their fitness I would hands down recommend Durham Ultimate Fitness. The knowledge and compassion the staff have for their members you will not find at another gym! Thank you Durham Ultimate for igniting my passion for this journey!

Expérience fantastique: Ultimate Fitness Bowmanville is such a great gym, at such an affordable price! The staff is always so friendly, helpful and goes out of their way to bring a welcoming energy. I love the Yogalaties class , and also love that the machines are always maintained in great condition ! I usually go around 7:30 am or 7:30 pm and I’ve never encountered a broken machine, or had to wait to use one. Definitely checkout this gym if you want a great value, friendly and judgement free environment.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been coming to this gym for a few years and it’s great! The staff is welcoming and encouraging, they have great equipment with new stair masters/machines. They also have a sauna/showers that come with your membership, also 24hours!

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been going to Ultimate Fitness since July 2023 and it’s been such an amazing experience so far. The staff are approachable, knowledgeable and supportive. They have a wide range of clean equipment for whole body workouts from machines and free weights to foam rollers and mats for stretching. I have never used a hip thrust machine, battle ropes or weighted push sled before, the community is very friendly and everyone is eager to show or help you. It’s cheaper than Planet Fitness, 9.99 biweekly and I received 2 weeks of PUSH classes free. PUSH I only started recently but I can’t say enough about the classes. The staff are so motivating and set up the perfect sweat monster class thats appropriate for all fitness levels. Definitely would recommend as it has introduced me to proper form and different exercise options. If you’re a busy person like me and unsure of your fitness journey they offer several different class times and the gym is open 24/7. MAKE THE CLUB SWITCH TODAY, you won’t regret it!

Expérience négative: Feb 2024: Absolutely disgusting decision to expand “the Push” into the women’s section, removing a safe place for women who are uncomfortable or anxious in the gym. Great you’re getting new equipment but also terrible that the space is so small and so overcrowded. It always smells stale, likely from many members not wearing footwear. The change room is also not clean… the same hair clump will sit in the shower for days in a row. Shame they’ve gone from several locations (a great set up on Bloor) to one small, smelly, overcrowded place. Was great. Now not so much. Feb 2023: Women’s section (more like a tiny corner) is an absolute joke. It was better pre-reno. Finally gave women a squat rack and then took it away when they moved the women’s only section. Mis-matched free weight and really no space to use them.

I absolutely love ultimate fitness, the gym is always clean and the recent expansion of PUSH is extremely beneficial for those who have been waiting to attend classes! Expérience négative: I’ve been going to this gym for almost a year now and have really enjoyed going there up until now. They recently decided to close the women’s only section to make more money off of their push classes. I think it’s absolutely disgusting because that space is there for when women feel unsafe around other individuals in the gym or lack of confidence, it also can be another space when the gym is really busy. It shows the type of gym they really are and will be the sole reason why I will not be returning once my membership is over. Really disappointed!!!
