Expérience négative: Went during Christmas and the staff were super unfriendly, and unprofessional, we had all our required documentation to get in because of the covid requirements and they still didn't let us in. They discriminated against us medically which is unconstitutional and is completely unacceptable!

Expérience fantastique: Leslie is the best at her job! I am so impressed with her promptness replying to booking inquiries, as well as her professionalism. She really goes above and beyond when accommodating clients. I can’t say enough nice things about her. Thank you!

Expérience négative: To the lady working nov 19th. I’ve never been treated that way at the Abby center. I’ve been going to the abbey center since I was a little kid. Wayyyyyyy longer than you’ve been working there. I’m unhappy with the disrespect and your reaction to my answers. You asked me if I needed a shoe tag and I said yes. nothing to be mean about there. I’m sure you know who I am and I’d love an apology. Every worker knows my family and are super friendly to us. What’s going on?

Expérience positive: Great place to go if your close by. I can all the way from Edmonton area and it was worth the try.... But not again. The disappointing thing is that the slide exits right infront of the deepest end of the pool so obviously youre gonna get splashed. The other was the line to get into the hot tub. I believe children really shouldn't be in a hot tub but that's my opinion. Us old people need it!! Lol my daughter loved the baby area. The lazy river was great expect for the children holding down the sprayers and getting people in the face. Lifeguards shouldn't told them to stop cuz my 9 month old didn't appreciate getting sprayed. Also bring a lock or be prepare to pay $3 to just borrow a lock. Nice thing are the chairs to lounge and can also bring a bag out with you and the large changrooms are a nice change. Overall cute place but definitely not as big as I thought it was going to be.

Expérience négative: It's a nice facility. Staff are fine. We've gotten sick though the last 3 times we attended the kids play area (in 2025). Most recently it was pretty bad. Norovirus or something similar. We won't go back. Not sure if they are deep cleaning the kids area as well as they should. Might return to use the gym one day.

Expérience fantastique: Had a fantastic day with my three kids (ages 10, 9, and 4)! We drove from Edmonton, and it was absolutely worth the trip. The weather was perfect at +30, and the place wasn’t too crowded, which made the experience even better. The kids had an absolute blast and are already asking when we can return. The entry fee for all of us was only $20, which felt like a steal. While the food was a bit overpriced and outside food wasn’t allowed, you can eat outside of the water park at a nice picnic table on the grass. Overall, it was definitely worth the trip! Can't wait for our next visit! Highly recommend!

Expérience négative: Its a great pool and one of the best around, however after paying a premium for the full year pass we are left in disappointment, Our first year at this park the main pool was closed for the longest time, Not this year the hot tub was operated at 50 percent capacity and now its been totally closed and the water drained out...... This place does have the worst maintained equipment. I get that some things happen but to be all over the place with every pool in alberta to see the amount of issues this place has. The town of Blackfalds outta be ashamed

Expérience positive: Would get 5 but I go play pickleball and they have only 2 courts and more people than spots but there is a court for badminton that no one is using

Expérience négative: Do you know what sucks!? When the phone lines will NEVER take you to a real person. It says push 0 which I have tried multiple times over the years and it just restarts menu selection. I complained and they told me it's not a problem. Well, I'm telling you it's been two years now and you still haven't fixed it. Your machine doesn't take me to talk to a person so I can't inquire about anything unless I choose the child minding option and then it's 50/50 someone picks up. So yeah, maybe fix that!!!!!

Expérience fantastique: Kids love this outdoor pool setup with a couple water slides, lazy river, dive tank, hot tub and splash park the abbey centre has it all.

Expérience fantastique: Fun outdoor pool! Slides are great and come out in relatively shallow water in one end of the pool. Adults are allowed to ride with their child if the child doesn't reach the height requirement. Family rate is not super expensive, but will cost extra if you have a large family. We had six total five kids and one adult all from the same house, had to pay the family rate plus pay for one child as an add-on. Parking is free but fills up on hot days so you may want to arrive early.

Expérience négative: I bought 2 wraps chicken Cesar and I found there bacon and we are Muslim, so we can’t eat bacon . One I took one bite and other was not touched and they refused to give back money I told them gave at least the 23$ from the chicken Caesars that was not touched they gust said sorry and took the two Caesars sandwich. Just I spend my money for nothing.

Expérience négative: Better off to take a trip to Red deer. Rec center thats half the price cheaper for a family as well. Toddler can’t even move around in the hot tub without be told to sit down he’s was only floating. But they let teens argue and push in there. Hot tub is only warm not hot . Can’t even eat our snacks at the picnic tables outside where food is sold even though you bought food from there expensive concession with very small portions. Concession tables were absolutely filthy. Slides always closed as I was told which they were when I went. 4$ for a slushy and 10$ for half a handful or fries. Better spend your money elsewhere to actually enjoy your family time. We were not even there a hour we will stick with our location of reddeer from now on

Expérience fantastique: The Abbey Centre is a state of the art recreational facility that offers a large gymnasium with ample room for multiple sporting events, a fitness room equipped with plenty of cardio machines and stretching areas. The outdoor aquatic playground is a must if you enjoy water slides or are bringing the family. Outside the building, there is an amphitheater for hosting events and a jungle gym for kids. The war memorial is worthy of respect. Take a moment and reflect on all that we enjoy from the efforts of the fallen soldiers.

Expérience fantastique: Beautiful day when we went. The pool opened at 10am Friday and the 2 slides opened about half an hour after that. Quick, easy swim test gave the kids more freedom. Nephew was under 4 ft but is a better swimmer than older kids because of training and he had to go down the slide with someone older/an adult. The facility itself was clean, it wasn’t too busy, there’s a small lazy river and climbing wall, as well as a big dive tank and one diving board. The shallow area and splash park looked great too. Grandma was able to sit on a chair and parents lay on beach chairs. Bring your own lock or rent one out for lockers. Staff helped us with lunch ideas and were kind to all.

Expérience fantastique: We have taken our 4 and 2 year old here quite a few times, and we love it!! Great slides, splash zone, and toddler area. We also love grabbing an ice cream cone while we are there at the little cafe. Highly recommend!

Expérience positive: The staff are super friendly which I love but It's a little frustrating for a regular going to their gym. The weights are all over the place the majority of time. I feel like I'm the only one putting them back. Not everyone can lift 45 pounds to get to the 10 pounds that's behind it. The hand sanitizer has been empty 3 consecutive times I've come after telling them that it's been empty twice. Just feel like the past 3 months or so it's been like this :(

Expérience négative: Went here for the first time to use the badminton court and pool as my daughter wanted to swim but instead we were asked to leave because my daughter is 7 years old and I have to be in the pool with her. Unfortunately I didn’t bring my swimsuit. I stood by the side of the pool at arm’s reach while my daughter is at the side soaked in the 0.45m shallow pool. The lifeguard approached us and asked us to leave since I can’t go in the water. She said that it is their rule that the parent should be in the water with the child. I can respect the rule but her approached could have been less assertive. Her tone was authoritative and when my husband asked for her name she said that she is not a lifeguard and that she is the shift supervisor. Anyhow, I’m sure we’re NOT going back to this facility and definitely won’t renew my husband’s membership.

Do not recommend canteen, food is decent but it took 45 mins for a grilled cheese and chicken wrap. Over all good experience.

Expérience fantastique: It was pretty packed but my kids had FUN!!! The splash pad, kiddie pool, slides and hot tub were all a BLAST. After spending hours and hours under the sun and in the water we mellowed out at the indoor playroom. Even with half of Central Alberta at the pool their staff and lifeguards were IMPECCABLE.

It has something for all ages even infants, a ton of lifeguards which is really nice and it's enclosed and the pool drop isn't too deep for taller 4+yr olds. Wish we lived closer so we could come weekly! Thanks to all the friendly staff.

Expérience négative: BEYOND busy! It is way overcrowded, I could barely get around without bumping into someone or someone bumping into me. And I went on a weekday or I can't imagine what a weekend would be like. I even had times were people separated me and my toddler just by swimming between us. Would not go again anytime soon even though it is cheap to go.

Expérience positive: So much fun! We stopped here on the way to Canmore and this may have been the highlight of the trip! The kids loved the outdoor pool and water slides!
