Expérience positive: Compared to other GoodLife locations you can really tell the staff take pride in this gym. The weights are put away properly. The paper towel dispensers and sanitizers are always full. The gym isn’t overcrowded and the members seem to care for the gym and equipment. Only cons are that there is no towel service, no lifting platforms or bumper plates for oly if you’re into that. Most other GL locations have those things. Also found there’s a shortage of benches where the dumbbells are and the women’s area doesn’t have heavy enough dumbbells, no bench or squat rack. I wish GoodLife was more consistent across their locations, especially considering the prices they charge for memberships. The staff here are kind and friendly which is refreshing compared to other locations.

She has had the answer for all of my problems that occurred with creating my account and helped my understanding of the terms and conditions of my membership. She was so patient with me, walked me through all steps and was very resourceful (had a very good understanding of the whole process even though most of the time I’ve come into the gym my questions were always answered with “I’m not sure”). Expérience fantastique: My go to gym…. Since I live very close by, love how it’s not to busy like all the other good lifes. Very friendly staff, clean. The only thing really missing here is a hip thrust machine!! Please us ladies really need one here. Considering changing gyms because of one equipment.

I highly recommend booking a session with him if you're looking to learn new exercises. He's very patient and knowledgeable. The gym is very dated though and needs a significant update.

Expérience négative: GoodLife is pouring millions into club renos in st Catharines and Hamilton, but this club can't even get towels or shower stalls. GoodLife has no standards whatsoever. The strobing effect of the lights installed directly over the fans makes the quality of light an AODA violation for the photosensitive member. GoodLife ignores almost all requests for improvement, and there is no channel of accountability from members to head office except through the managers, which head office ignores.

Expérience fantastique: Pamela is the bestest GoodLife staff I have EVER dealt with in my 30 yrs in this industry.Super nice and friendly. Equipment clean and organized and so much of it!!!!! Lots of events happening too. They leave you to do your thing which isn't always a bad thing but it might make a Newby nervous Seriously though- Pamela is sensational. Lucky to have her.

Expérience négative: Worst then fit 4 less I went to take a shower and saw 2 old dudes are naked standing having shower like Vietnam war prisoners shower. One looked like "dug ford." There's no partition, and they only have 3 shower which you share with other people naked I recommend you go for a day and check before paying.

Expérience négative: Out of all the Goodlife’s this has to be by far the worst. No wifi, no towel service. Outdated equipment and unclean. Small, Dingy and unappealing for a gym. For the price you’d assume there would be obvious upgrades. I would rather drive to Hamilton or st.Catherines or Burlington than go here

Expérience positive: The staff is fantastic. The gym is really dated. Considering the size of this place, a remodel would make it one of the best gyms around. I end up going to the Stoney Creek Queenston location just because it’s a nicer gym with nicer equipment and amenities.

Expérience négative: Took time off, personal reasons, I was still being charged every month, even though I haven’t used the gym for over 3 years, eventually covid hit, I had to cancel my membership after being a member since Champions days in late 80' , 90's then, eventually GoodLife took over. Called them to see cost, was paying $25.00 as long term member. WOW, Expensive now, they wanted $60.00 month plus tax? Basic dated gym, was told, no special pricing for former members. I was dissapointed.

Expérience négative: How is this gym location called goodlife? This is more of a fit4less or crunch fitness. They shouldn't be charging us $60+tax every month for old and broken/squeaky equipment. The crowds there are so inconsiderate and talk loudly when working out. I don't have other gym options in Grimsby or I would cancel my membership in a heart beat. Goodlife fitness get better equipment here please and add more treadmills and newer ellipticals. The women's only section is such a shame :(. It's smaller in size than most apartment buildings free gyms. So disappointing

Expérience fantastique: Huge location 24/7. I was there for the 1st time doing CPR course. I was impressed how spacious the place is. And they have the whole section with TRX which is absent in my location. As far as I noticed they even have punching bag for men and those who can be interested. Huge cardio section. The woman’s change room looked clean and big enough. Even though it was late in the day. If you live in Grimsby I definitely recommend to check it out.

Expérience négative: BS hours despite have (6) six 24 hours signs on literally (1) one building. Only gym in 30 mins parameter. Every fit4less i have ever been to has better and more equipment. Not sure why this place is considered a "Goodlife" and not "fit4less", if both are owned by the same company yet this facility has absolutely nothing that any goodlife offers. The staff is the only thing credible about this facility. Conclusion, if this was fit4less, it would make a little sense. Because the facility is called Goodlife, it's nothing short of a SCAM.

Expérience fantastique: We have a membership that gives us access to all the Goodlife gyms in the area. We have been to many different locations but I can honestly say, the customer service at the Grimsby Goodlife is the best we have experienced. The staff at the desk in particular go above and beyond their job responsibilities to ensure that the members are happy and satisfied. Expérience positive: I've been coming to this gym for many many years. It is conveniently located and I like that it's not very busy, especially in the afternoons. The gym staff are exceptional and deserve some recognition. In particular, club attendant Johanna is always smiling and super kind. She is so friendly and since she has been hired, the gym stays spotless! Sarah is also a stand out. She is so warm and has introduced me to several other people at the gym. Pam, Jaxon and Kristy are also always so friendly when I come in. Dakkar gave me an awesome free one hour training session and I really learned a lot from him. One area of improvement however is definitely the aesthetic of the gym. It is very dated. Many of the machines are really old and there is only one smith machine. I would absolutely LOVE a hip thrust machine. It is so cumbersome to set up for hip thrusts all the time. A remodel with new machines would so very much appreciated!

Expérience fantastique: I absolutely love the GoodLife location in Grimsby! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, with a special shoutout to Kristy and Alyssa for being fantastic managers. They always take member recommendations seriously and truly make the experience enjoyable. My only downside is that the equipment feels a bit outdated, which sometimes leads me to visit the Queenston location instead, even though I live on Fifty Road. Overall, a great gym with an amazing team, but a little update on the equipment would make it perfect!

Expérience positive: I took some time away so I’m back and was hoping to see some changes in the equipment. It’s really outdated and there are way too many of the same machines. Please please please get a hip thrust machine or two, kettlebells, boxes and equipment that isn’t hiding upstairs collecting dust. Some fresh paint would be awesome and bring it into 2024. I want to love coming to the gym, but this isn’t doing it for me. Come on Grimsby!

The fans are installed right under the lights so there's a slight strobing effect on every flat surface in the building. Impossible for anybody who is photosensitive to attend. GoodLife has completely ignored my concerns, which I have brought up more than once.

Expérience négative: Went back to the gym after a few years and sad to say found that it has the same old outdated equipment in need of repair. Cost has gone up considerably and the rug throughout looks like it is a bacterial spore haven....shouldn't they change the carpet every 5 years? I don't think the rug has ever been changed since opened. Overall can't compare to Planet Fitness in Burlington to 1/5 of the price. I know it is hard to run a business and I'm not sure what Good Life is going through, I am trying to be fair, but owners have lost their passion and sad to say I think this is neglect .

Expérience fantastique: I signed up about approximately a year ago with this location. I love all staff, especially Sarah and Nick, top two on my list of employees there. Everyone that works there are so friendly, reasonable and understanding. If you have no issues of flowing the internet gym etiquette suggested guidelines. There should be no problems. AVOID using two pieces of equipment that are far away. Supersets and circuits don't run from the chin-up bar to the bench press rack over and over again. Trust me, few things are as frustrating as setting up a piece of workout equipment, only to have someone fly in from across the gym and say they were using that. RESPECT, Common sense. Expérience fantastique: In response to the negative review from Mohsin Javed. I was personally in that class on Wednesday July 10th. His review is unjustified due to his actions. I was 1 of 15 in the class and experienced the interaction. This was UNJUSTIFIED as what he is saying did not truly happen. Mohsin Had come into the end of class;Interrupting the class and the patrons in it. As a paying member of Group fitness, I am appalled at the response as Veronica is Highly professional and ethical in her teachings. Making her classes highly inviting for all. It astonishes me that For someone who came into the class extremely late and highly disrespectful can have the audacity to write some filth. I hope Goodlife head office takes this into consideration and not just pass it off to the General manager to review. I have as well as other members have been to many of Veronica's classes and have always felt loved and wanted. Veronica treats her group members with the utmost dignity and respect. AGAIN DISGUSTED THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE SO CONDINSENDING OF THEIR ACTIONS.

Expérience négative: Extremely disappointed with Veronica at GoodLife Gym Grimsby (July 10, 2024). Refused to let me join my first class despite plenty of time and available machines. Unwelcoming and inflexible behavior. We were alternating childcare duties to allow each other to work out, but Veronica's inflexibility ruined our experience. As new members, my wife and I expected better. Hope management takes our feedback seriously and improves their approach.

Expérience fantastique: I have been attending Goodlife in Grimsby for quite a while now, but there is one thing that this gym includes that no other gym has: the Person Trainer Veronica Romano. Veronica always greets you with a smile and conversation she is always free to help you whenever you need it. Veronica also teaches a few of the classes at Goodlife. She makes them fun and inclusive to everyone. I would not be where I am today in my lifting journey if it wasn't for Veronica's motivation

Expérience fantastique: Im a fairly new member at this goodlife and have had many interactions with the associates and the personal trainers. I completed my free 1 hour pt session with Veronica Romano and participated in many of her fitness classes, my favourite being the RPM. I am very excited to attend her classes each week and continue to see the improvement i make with each visit. Her feedback is very important to me and she always praises me for my hard work. She is a great teacher and mentor, she makes her classes fun and treats everyone with respect. She jokes around with me and makes me feel very comfortable.

Expérience négative: So overall the gym is ok. It’s pretty small, I kinda wish they expanded but whatever no big deal. Problem is. 1. Their scheduling is weird. Says it’s 24 hours but not really. Weird on weekends lol so it feels like false marketing. 2. They don’t offer towels. Which is crazy in 2024. How do you not offer towels in 2024. Literally lol invest in your gym community guys. Especially if they’re small. Anyways. Stopped going here and drive out to a GoodLife with more space and towels.

Hours are typically based around club attendance. We will share this feedback, along with the towels with the appropriate team.
Expérience négative: Disgusting the way the keep the equipment. Zero maintenance on machines. I walked up mts high row machine and there was actual humane faeces on the handle. When I asked staff if they clean the machines the replied that the members are supposed to clean. I’m actually stunned he would say that. Disgusting gym.

I’ve only been signed up a couple of weeks but I have gotten a phone call every couple of days plus emails saying how many times I’ve been to the gym etc. it’s too much. Also it’s only open 24/7 3 days a week although says 24h right outside the gym!

Expérience positive: As someone who had never been into the "gym" experience, I was so pleasantly surprised at GoodLife Grimsby. There's truly an awesome community here and it's such a positive space with good vibes. The gym and change room are always immaculately clean, the sauna heats up really nicely. The staff is super friendly. They have a variety classes which are great- Veronica who teaches spin and yoga is an absolute gem of a person. This is an awesome gym. Only wish they had more features like a cold plunge/ hot tub, towel service like they do at other locations.

Expérience négative: Gym machines and layout are outdated like crazy. Somehow the sauna (their only amenity offered) is broken every 3 months and takes 2-3 months to get fixed. It’s ridiculous the price they charge. My family used to have a pass with 3 members, we’ve all cancelled and switched to the fit4less in superstore. It’s 2 mins away, Much cheaper and since GoodLife machines and sauna are always broken it’s basically the same gym. Sucks because I would’ve paid the price as it’s the only gym in area which offers sauna, but I guess that doesn’t even matter since it’s always broken.

Expérience positive: Super friendly staff, I love that it has a sauna and tanning. Plently of equipment except it's missing a hip thrust machine!! Would really like to see one in the near future. Can't even set it up with the smith machine because it doesn't go low enough. Could also do with some updating, fresh paint. All black would be really cool.

Expérience fantastique: The atmosphere of this gym is immaculate. The staff are some of the best and friendliest people you’ll ever meet. I once had a flat tire and desperately needed help changing it. Blake took the time in the cold and snow to come outside and help me put the spare on just so I could save money on a tow truck. Blake’s kindness and willingness to help myself and others around him is one of the reasons I love this gym. I can’t remember a single time I came in and a smile wasn’t waiting for me at the front from any of the motivators.

Expérience négative: Solid gym, been coming here for more than two years lots of nice people, solid equipment and nice staff. For some reason tonight as me and my gym buddies were leaving we were confronted by the night shift guy because one of my friends scanned in with someone else pass. We have been doing this for around a year but this time we got a lecture and he tried to embarrass us as we were leaving. As we were walking out in the parking lot he stared at us through there break room and continued to make comments on how we should keep on walking and that we shouldn’t touch his truck (which we were no where near close to and did not touch) he continued to yell at us as we were leaving when we tried to explain we didn’t even know it was his truck. Not sure if I feel comfortable around someone trying to pick fights and let out his short man syndrome on us. Unprofessional behaviour and sad.

Expérience positive: Hello. Please upgrade this franchise. The floorplanning is ancient. Sure, it's a nostalgic experience entering in because it reminds me of my high school in 2002. It's 2024. No towels, either. Only a handful of options for lower body workouts. Some of the machines are fairly worn out. Looking at the size of the facility, this gym would attract a lot more business if they kept up to date. I wonder if this goodlife franchise is still within the company's standard... It's the only big gym in the area, so I think the owners don't care about upgrading it anytime soon (less competition). As soon as competition presents itself in the Grimsby, Lincoln, they'll lose clientele. Other than that, service is great. Love the front desk people. Very kind workers. Please upgrade this place..

Expérience fantastique: This gym offers a wide variety of classes, excellent facilities, and an excellent workout experience. An inviting environment is created by the awesome staff. One improvement could be a hip thruster machine in the women's area. The women's area would greatly benefit from the addition of this machine, which might also aid in injury prevention given the current layout.

Expérience fantastique: I love love this place!!! The staff is AMAZIIIIINNNNGGGG!!! The nicest, friendliest and welcoming people at a gym I’ve ever met and seen in any gym!! They have all the equipment I need except one thing that I’ve seen at other goodlifes… the hip thrust machine. I am working on my glutes as I need it for my next fitness competition and using a bar with a bench doesn’t really cut it It gets painful on my hip bones even with a pad . I see all the other girls doing the same and I’m sure that if you’d get the hip thrust machine EVERY WOMEN IN there will be soooooo happy!!! crossing ❤️my fingers for that piece of equipment for the new year of 2024 !! I really love this place, Morgan and Christine from RIDE are extraordinary. If you really want to work out, go get your pass, and you'll find this place is amazing.

Expérience positive: Great gym, has most machines, albeit some outdated. Staff is nice. Not typically too much rush. Only concern is not open 24/7, but yeah, 24/4 also works and weekend timing is decent.

Expérience positive: I love my club, and I find the opening hours work well for me. The staff is great, and have been very supportive on my fitness journey. I would LOVE to see them add a hip thrust machine and towel service. Not that it matters, but a fresh coat of paint or a mural (like other GL locations) would break up the VERY beige aesthetic.

Expérience négative: This place is so OVERPRICED and OUTDATED. Everything is always always broken; especially the sauna ( the only amenity they offer). They should have a massive price drop for this location because it’s just basic as can be and does not offer anything unique at all. I wish I could’ve stayed here and enjoyed it. So close for me and convenient, just WAYYWAY TOOOOO EXPENSIVE!!!!! I can’t justify it sadly.

Expérience négative: GoodLife is pouring millions into club renos in st Catharines and Hamilton, but this club can't even get towels or shower stalls. GoodLife has no standards whatsoever. The strobing effect of the lights installed directly over the fans makes the quality of light an AODA violation for the photosensitive member. GoodLife ignores almost all requests for improvement, and there is no channel of accountability from members to head office except through the managers, which head office ignores.

Expérience positive: Glad to have this gym availability in Grimsby. Having travelled throughout the Province this is one of the most basic GoodLife locations. It’s below the GoodLife Franchise standard and it’s a 3 of 5 in comparison. Same complaints from many members for many years and a few small and consistent issues need fixed, however, they never are. 1) Fix the prison showers. In todays world private stalls are a must. 2) Add towel service. Just cleaner for everyone. 3) Why do we have a women’s only area. That area can be renovated and shared by all members. I think we all pay the same right? In some responses it’s indicated there isn’t space to fix the issue. Well there’s the solution. The St. Catharines location is of course the gold standard but try and make all location experiences as close as possible. Appreciate the staff there and grateful to have a GL location in Grimsby but something needs to be done. Its generally just “tired” and it’s time for a Capital Investment at this location especially as the area around the gym is growing rapidly. It’s a good gym that could be so much better.

Expérience positive: Their team is great! Some of their equipment however is old and requires repair/ maintenance. Overall….It’s my go to whenever I’m in Stoneycreek/ Grimsby. Also, as an ultimate member I’d love my towel service and it’s very sad this location doesn’t offer it. I feel it should be standard at all locations- ultimate members should get what they pay for.

Expérience fantastique: A nice smaller gym. Has everything you need. I'm a huge fan of the lady section as it has real weights for lifting and mostly everything you need in a small space. Never overcrowded! Lots of cardio machines and a separate fitness studio for stretching!

Expérience positive: Compared to other goodlife’s in the area the gym is very spacious and the staff is fantastic, but in need of an equipment update. There’s only 1 deadlift platform which is located inside the personal training section and 3 squat racks in the free weight section. Every other good life in the area has calibrated plates and at least 3 platforms outside the personal training area. I can say that in the past few years they restocked on all weight plates in the free weight section and the staff is always quick to rerack the weights properly if left undone, I never have a problem finding the plates that I need.

Expérience négative: If you're looking for a gym with a $90 membership, but none of the amenities, look no further!! The machines; and Sauna are constantly out of order. If anything breaks, just know that it'll take 4 months to be fixed (no exaggeration ie sauna/back row machine etc). In addition, theres no towel service, Squash courts, swimming pools, modern tanning beds, or Hot Yoga studios. - i do love the staff, but someone should really buy this gym from the owners.

I was really excited when Covid protocols started easing up and expected the hours of operation to follow suit but they have not. Please bring back later hours - especially on weekends. It would really make a world of difference.

Expérience positive: Why am I paying fees for a 24/hr gym that closes at 5 on Sundays and 10 every other day of the week? There are no COVID restrictions…why aren’t the hours back to normal? I don’t see my bi weekly payment reduced to reflect the fact that I can’t go during the week because I finish work late Monday-Thursday, or the fact that I can’t go on the weekend if I have obligations during the day. Are the hours ever doing back to normal or is this the new status quo? Edit: after speaking to a rep at the gym, the early closing hours are going to stay until the end of summer at least. I’m sad because I really like this gym but it no longer fits with my schedule.

Expérience fantastique: I just finished my first class of the year, and WOW! This is the best Flow release ever, hands down, bar none. The moves really did flow. There was time to get into each stretch and build intensity. Great workout, low volume on the music too, sweet.

Expérience fantastique: Having been an active and regular Goodlife member for 25 years I thought it was time to leave a review. I have attended large and small Goodlife clubs throughout the province including London, Woodstock, Cambridge, Guelph, Waterloo, Orangeville, St Catherines, Burlington, Oakville, Toronto, Mississauga, Scarborough, Pickering. The point I am making is that I like Grimsby Goodlife and have made this my home club for several reasons. You don't have to walk through the whole club to attend group fitness. The group fitness is at the top of the stairs that are located by the dront door. The studios also has windows and lots of natural light which is great in summer that a lot of Goodlifes don't have. The group fitness instructors for spin, pump, step, hit are very fit and deliver classes that is comparable to big cities like Toronto where I instructed. I have found some clubs do not take the group fitness to the next level.There is also enough equipment for everyone which is an issue with bigger clubs. The club has tonnes of parking and is kept clean. The club is located by itself on a street which minimizes all the other person traffic that clubs in downtowns or attached to malls have. I observe staff cleaning machines on a regular basis including in the women's only section that is great to have. The staff can be seen walking around talking to everyone and the manager is great and listens to feedback. There is a large selection of cardio and weight equipment needed for competitive training that is well spaced out. The layout it well done so that you can have workouts in various areas and not be bothered. This club also promotes community and does fun activities throughout the year. The only thing this club needs to offer is towel service. The club has a few new personal trainers that are observed to be very hands on that is not seen in all clubs. I would recommend highly recommend this club.
