Expérience fantastique: A Wonderful YMCA Experience with Exceptional Staff and Community Support I’ve been a regular at the YMCA in Grimbury for a while now, using both the gym and basketball courts, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience there. The facility is always well-maintained, and I’ve never had an issue with the cleanliness or upkeep—everything is on schedule and properly cared for. The staff at this YMCA are top-notch. They are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. They create a positive atmosphere that makes every visit enjoyable. What really stands out, though, is the sense of community that exists at this location. Everyone I’ve interacted with, whether they’re working out or just enjoying the space, is kind, respectful, and genuinely friendly. Recently, I had a difficult experience when I tore my Achilles while playing basketball (no fault of the YMCA or any of the people there). I’m so grateful for the amazing support I received during this challenging time. The staff were not only helpful, but incredibly compassionate. They took immediate action to ensure I was comfortable and assisted in any way they could. A special shout-out to Brandon, the manager, who went above and beyond in helping me. From providing multiple ice packs, guiding me on the next steps for treatment, and staying with me outside while I waited for my parents to arrive, he truly exemplified what it means to be caring and attentive. Even the next day, Brandon followed up with me to check on my condition and to ensure a smooth transition back into the YMCA when I’m ready to return. It’s rare to find a community so supportive, and I feel fortunate to be a part of this one. I’m thankful for the wonderful team at this YMCA and the kindness of my fellow patrons. It’s clear that this place goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels welcomed and supported, no matter the circumstances. Thank you, YMCA Grimbury, and thank you, Brandon, for making such a tough situation easier to handle. I’ll be back soon, ready to get back to my workouts when I’m healed up!

Expérience positive: Very clean and well run facility. Some of the patrons need to be educated on gym etiquette. So many people remain on the equipment for extended periods between their sets. Yoga and spin instructors are amazing!

Expérience négative: Judi who works at the front desk, is extremely rude! I came with a group of individuals with disabilities and she was very rude and unhelpful. Just a recommendation if you are going to have a negative attitude don’t work at the font desk. I was pretty disappointed as I’ve had good experiences other times.

Expérience négative: Very expensive and manager quite rude, no good deals for students; will be switching gyms in the near future. Forced to Pay for a month, when i’m only visiting for a week. The rest of the workers are very nice.

Expérience fantastique: Haven't taken out a membership as yet, but will be doing so soon. Did the tour of the facility with Phyllis who was just lovely.

Expérience positive: Great though it was a bit chilly waiting for a functional shower in the family change room.

Expérience négative: Great for kids and adults. The only thing that I don't understand is why my wife have to fill up the screening form every time if the covid restrictions were removed 2 years ago?

Expérience négative: Very expensive! $10 for 1 hour per adult of swimming. Membership is also very steep considering the lack of programs available. Ended up cancelling my membership for these reasons.

Expérience fantastique: This is such a great gym. Clean. Good equipment. All new dumbbells. Loads of space. Great pool (although the aqua fit classes always seem to clash with when I want to swim lengths). Only slightly more expensive than others in town but many times nicer!

Expérience fantastique: Surprised to see how well maintained compared to other mainstream clubs and gym. Really good place.

Expérience positive: The Grimsby location has many pros and cons. Pros: facility has a pool, indoor track, and many classes/programs. Cons: Staff can be condescending and frankly rude at times, particularly to visible minorities, which reflects most likely on how management is training them or treating them (not sure which one but it needs to change).

Expérience fantastique: Went for a swim with the family. Friendly service, the change rooms were clean and the pools were great. Will definitely come back

Expérience négative: Someone please supervise the disrespectful children upstairs and your treadmills keep stopping. As well, the upstairs bathroom door slams shut (automated) and the bathrooms downstairs (not change rooms) are awful.

Expérience fantastique: We went there just to swim. There was a nice warm pool for our youngest one and a larger pool for the adults. Water was at the perfect temperature for both areas. Overall very clean changerooms and facility.

Expérience fantastique: We love the YMCA. It a great family gym. The locker rooms are spotless and there is ample equipment. You will never have to wait.

Expérience positive: It is a family friendly place with excellant staff. The cleanliness sometimes lags a little on some days When the teens and school kids are there, they do not wipe down the equipment. Maybe it would be nice to have someone tell them this? Suggest placing metal shelves in the dressing shoer stalls for the exclusive membership fitness goers. Keep up the great work staff and volunteers!!! Thank you!

Expérience fantastique: Great place to work out. They offer fitness classes, yoga, swimming and programs for kids. Fun and friendly atmosphere, great equipment except. Can be real busy at certain times of the day but you don't wait too long for equipment.

Expérience fantastique: I sent an email and they quickly responded to my answer. My daughter and I are very excited to try the free 7 day trial to test the fitness area. Looking forward to seeing the facilities and what they have to offer.

The fitness manager also reached out to me about a previous comment on here and cleared everything up which is wonderful and shows they actually care about their facility and the people in it. 6 stars

Expérience fantastique: Cleanest in the area! We go for swims with a little one. Reception is often 1 person so wait times can be long especially if they are held up on the phone.

Expérience positive: Very nice facilities. Staff have always been very helpful and friendly. The one major frustration is the lack of open swim times during the weekends. 12-1pm usually but if you have small kids, that's nap time. Why not have free time sometime before noon or after 3pm and fill in the middle of the day with birthday parties and swim lessons?

Expérience fantastique: After switching from a private swimming lesson centre in Burlington, I had some high expectations which were exceeded at this YMCA!! my four-year-old has only been enrolled for just over a month and he’s already so confident and trying to swim by himself!! I highly recommend, and will continue to go here for as long as possible.

Expérience fantastique: Recently began attending the YMCA and have had nothing but positive experiences. The staff is always welcoming, friendly and tries their best to help answer any questions I have. The fellow members are polite and non judgemental, you do not worry about feeling judged at the gym. I am excited to see what kid programs they have planned this coming season!

When I'm on the fitness floor I never feel like I'm being judged by my peers because everyone is just trying to be healthy, it is not a gym filled with crazy health junkies. 10/10 recommend

Expérience positive: Great for an avid fitness person. I like swimming. Their regimented swim times are partially understandable but their times are not always my free times. Plus it's very expensive. Not for me.

I miss the people and the atmosphere (not to mention losing the weight) that made this Y the place to go. I continue to hope it opens back up again for workouts as the COVID trial continues.

Expérience négative: Not a member absolutely ridiculous pricing ! Staff are extremely rude ! Especially the people working the front desk! The lifeguards just stand around and barely pay any attention to the swimmers. Came in to watch my niece and nephew swim I asked the front desk person to go thru the side door she said no it’s just for staff that I have to pay (just to watch) walk all the way around and go thru the change rooms just to go back to the entrance where I am already just on the other side of the glass.

Expérience négative: Great place if you only use cardio equipment. Severely lacking weight training equipment and maintenance of them. Long wait to use 1 of equipment and students tend to sit on equipment not in use by them. 1 type of each pull down bar for all cable equipment shared by many. Most people dont wipe down equipment after use. If you are looking to do weight training, look elsewhere. There is a pic of 1 squat rack. Its because there is only 1.

Expérience positive: Squat rack can get a little crowded at times. Lots of cardio machines. Friendly staff. Little pricey but they can provide financial support if needed. Horrible parking layout though it's really terrible walking through that dinky little pathway in the winter at -20C weather conditions. I'm not entirely certain about the building plans but why couldn't they put the parking in the front? The curvy drive into the parking lot is also terrible. It cant fit two cars through it at the same time so usually one will have to wait so one can come through.
