Expérience positive: We rented the hall space for a 5 year old birthday party, yes it was during a snowstorm, we were promised 2 staff members during our "gym" activity, we only had one, and that one was very rude and we sensed the vibe that she didn't want to be there. We heard you mutter something as we entered the building and then we felt the result as you *joyfully* invited us to the gym. First off if you don't want to be there get another job that makes you happy, DO NOT SPREAD YOUR ATTITUDE TO THE KIDS. the gentleman at the reception was very polite and considering we appreciated the space and effort of the staff there other than that one lady who was responsible for the 1 hour in the gym. Over all very satisfied and hopefully will return with anticipation of accommodating staff.

She is unfair and extremely disrespectful, remove her from manager please. she’s the reason i don’t want to go there. I feel she’s a very rude person and somebody had to write this review, i don’t know who made her manager but they really don’t know what they’re doing.

Expérience positive: Love it here. My daughter takes swimming lessons and we are very happy with the pool and the instructors. My only issue is sometimes the front desk staff are a bit uninterested in helping out or answering questions. Last time I had a question the one young lady looked annoyed that I was interrupting her conversation . I have seen other reviews where people have had similar interactions with the front desk staff. Either hire more mature people to run the front desk or re-train your staff to understand what working the front desk entails. I think they need some supervision to keep them in line. Other than that the facility itself is great.

Expérience fantastique: Great local community center, been swimming with my Son here for years. Plenty of facilities within a large area and borders onto a nice quiet beach along Lake Ontario.

Expérience positive: I’ve come to this location a few times for lane swim, overall it’s a pretty decent place for swimming. Pretty busy during peak hours where you’ll notice swimmers take up medium and fast lanes to float or chit chat instead of going into the other wading pools, I didn’t notice this before today, but I suppose this is going to be normalized as the hotter temperatures are upon us. Change rooms are spacious and clean, my only concern is when people don’t use a family change room, when they have multiple kids near by running into gym goers and changing out of bathing suits. I’ve overheard a few ladies mention this while there. But this is not something I have control of. I’ve noticed there’s quite a bit of debris at the bottom of the pool, one time I saw toilet paper/ something that looked similar to a tampon. I’m not sure how often the pool is cleaned, I like to think it’s on a frequent basis now that school is out for many families. My last concern is primarily with the front desk staff, there have been multiple occasions where they have overlooked a gym goer to finish a mindless conversation, no greeting or acknowledgement or awareness that someone’s there. I’d say it’s pretty rude, and indicative that customer service is above their pay grade. Overall, 3 stars, you get what you pay for.

Expérience fantastique: We’ve had an outstanding experience at the South Oshawa Community Centre. My daughters have been taking swimming lessons here since 2022, starting as complete beginners and now swimming like mermaids. Recently, just before a swimming lesson, my daughter had a severe nosebleed. The staff were exceptional, especially Lee and Robin. They handled the situation with great care and professionalism, ensuring she was comfortable and calling an ambulance when necessary. I deeply appreciate their swift and compassionate response. Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. I highly recommend the South Oshawa Community Centre for their excellent programs and fantastic staff. ♥️

Expérience fantastique: Our first visit ever to this location was perfect for the birthday party we were attending. The pool is perfect and warm which my young kiddo was happy about. The slide was a hit. The party room was the perfect size. This facility is sooooo clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again.

Expérience fantastique: My favorite amongst all the other community centre in Oshawa for my daughter’s swimming lessons. It is not crazy busy like Delpark. Pool area is also huge. Love love the hot tub - haven’t tried the sauna yet but hopefully soon. It was also where we held my daughter’s 7th bday and everyone was impress on how clean the facility is.

Expérience positive: My child takes swimming lessons here... prefer it over the civic and delpark, to be honest. The only downfall is that the change rooms are absolutely freezing, and during the winter, the floors are pretty gross.

Expérience fantastique: We held a birthday party here and, to say it exceeded my expectations, is an understatement. Everything was well managed, organized, coordinated, and down to a science. From the second I inquired about the party straight through to the last person exiting the building, it was marvelous. Staff were incredible, truly helpful, polite, and all around, ensuring a great experience. I am so incredibly grateful for the lessened load of planning a party because this center has truly thought of everything. Hats off to the lifeguards as well who engaged with our group and kept us safe! Overall, I highly recommend this establishment and have already had a friend book a party there for May!

Expérience positive: Everything was fine, but the pool was really shallow, like maybe 3.5 ft deep? The lane swimming was deeper, just shy of 6ft maybe, but this pool seems better for small children

Expérience fantastique: I like going here with my 2 year old to swim. It's usually not at all busy on most weekdays I've gone, and they have lots of toys for kids.

Expérience négative: A bit disappointing. Gym I have been using has not been swept in at least 4 days. Many scraps of garbage on the floor. One stall in Ladies washroom has been without toilet paper for the last 2 days. I told the front desk yesterday but nothing had changed today.

Expérience négative: Swimming here is pretty good however I must add The girl at the front desk avoids picking up phone calls and they look pretty upset when people ask them questions, I agree with the other people on this review that they seem Completely useless. The girl was Caucasian and there was also an African-American girl sitting next to her who is equally useless. They have no idea the meaning of how to smile and be helpful. No idea how they got their jobs. I will be calling management and complaining about this. I noticed they were busy talking to each other and using their phones. A child would’ve done a better job sitting at the front desk.

Expérience négative: Had the worst online experience of my life trying to book 3 kids different swimming lessons. Beat the last time by far. Had everything set up before 9 am with course codes to just click and pay. So simple. At 9am got 3 courses in cart and hit pay now. Yeah !!!!! Not so fast - we need each childs guardian phone number and stuff. Server error after filling out first guardian / consent form for each different child before paying. Blue circle of death followed by white blank no server response error. Turned off all web security. Why not one consent page for all 3 kids ? Got 2 kids forms filled and 3rd form didnt show up - should have expected no less. Waited forever. Basket emptied due to time limit to pay and rebooked again. Where there any changes from my previous consent forms to deem this step even necessary ? Why this cant be done when you log in is beyond me for any new consent / guardian changes. Could have been done before 9am. This can be added automatically to payments and speed up server. Finally payment page shows up. Server error time out after paying with credit card several times. Kind of like crawling to the top of a mountain and falling down it again and again. Repeat process several times frustratingly seeing courses I picked slowly fill up. Repeat again of server error and cart auto emptied due to excessive time taken. Courses now sold out. Bang head on desk and repeat. Added new undesirable course dates. Repeat process. Now had firefox and microsoft edge on "my cart" page to constantly monitor time left and reclick "pay now" button before time out emptied cart. Finally after presuming everyone else gave up at 11:08 am and server back up I was successful in paying. Not times I wanted but kids swimming back to back but not together. Lucky I guess. Wouldn't it be sensible to have one oshawa swimming pool to start registration at 9am and the next at 10am etc? This would help your server from almost burning up in smoke and reduce the vast negative experience hundreds of parents felt this morning. Great swimming instructors but bad server / planning.

Expérience fantastique: Clean facilities and friendly staff, less crowded than other locations. The gym is well equipped, there is a hot tub, dry sauna, kiddie pool, 25 m pool and a slide for the family. Beside a youth room there is also rooms that can be rented for events. Lots of free parking. Go and check it out. You can go for a walk at nearby park and beach too.

Expérience positive: Went here for a family swim on a weekday due to a more flexible availability of their community swimming area. Facilities a little older looking and will benefit from a revamp but it is clean. For community swimming in Oshawa, I still prefer Delpark over here.

Expérience fantastique: I absolutely love the studio. The staff is amazing. I get to practice my Zumba Gold choreos and play my Latinx music. I 4-year-old boy also had a great experience with the summer swimming class. The instructors are caring and gentle with all the kids. The facility is always clean and well kept.

Expérience positive: We went for a leisure swim. Inside the family changing rooms for the pool. Actually in one of the small rooms someone placed a disposable razor inside the infant changing table. Reflective of the neighborhood. The pool area is well used and still a great place for all ages. Jacuzzi and dry sauna is hot. They provide life jackets for the young. The lifeguards and staff are friendly. The men’s, women’s and family changing rooms is shared with the workout gym upstairs. There’s a spectator area for watchers. We recommend and we’ll return.

Expérience positive: I enjoy taking my grandchildren to swim at the South oshawa Community Center. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The change rooms are always clean as well as the washroom. Expérience positive: The best public pool in the area...have some rules with the pools that do not make more sens for me, but overall the services and the facilities are very good. The majority of issues are with the patrons that are really messy, leave dirty pampers in the changing rooms...and do not clean after them. It's a pity that the lack of patrons educations and scarce cleaning personnel is allowing this facility to get only 3 stars when more cleaning resources could brink this facility to a 5 stars recreation pool.
