Expérience fantastique: This gym is definitely large with many machines and is broadly clean, well organized, and the staff are friendly. My one complaint is that the Mind & Body studio is never open. I have to ask a staff member to open it for me all the time and they're really accommodating and very friendly about it but I've never understood why it isn't open for the morning workouts. It's a nice space too.

Expérience négative: The recent renovation has definitely improved the facility’s look and equipment. However, my experience as a member has actually gotten worse. Now the space is being overrun by personal training sessions. During my last visit Friday afternoon, I counted five PT sessions taking up space beyond the already designated PT area, leaving almost no room for regular club members to use the gym. The upgrades are appreciated, but what’s the point if paying members can’t actually use the space? I hope management reconsiders how space is being allocated.

Expérience fantastique: I’m new and about to start my gym journey here. My initial chat and tour of the location left me good impressions. The location is very big and fairly maintained. If it’s also your first time there, I would recommend doing your first consultation with Harman! He’s super chill, friendly, and will actually take the time to help you think of different ways that will help you to achieve your goals.

Expérience négative: The towels are the dirtiest in any good life I’ve ever been to. They’re such a cheap material and they never replace them. I wish Management did something, but they don’t care! might have to reach out to corporate because I got a staph infection.

Expérience fantastique: This location is very spacious and has huge new renovations on the top floor. It can get busy but that's to be expected at any gym. The parking is very convenient, especially with the new entrance on the side (although I'd love for a parking validator to be added to that side entrance). The staff are incredibly friendly and the gym is very well maintained. Definitely my favourite one to visit.

Expérience négative: I’ve been a member at this GoodLife location for a while, but what happened recently was unacceptable. While I was working out for less than two hours, I came back to find my locker had been cut open and left unlocked. Staff told me they thought another client had left something inside, which wasn’t true — the locker was completely empty before I used it. Even worse, my personal belongings were clearly searched without my permission. The staff member who cut my locker was named Orris Achacoso. The manager apologized but didn’t offer any solution or compensation. I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of responsibility and privacy protection at this club. I hope head office takes this seriously and improves management oversight.

Expérience positive: I’ve been going to this location for a while and it’s pretty good compared to other places. The front desk staff members Rola and Heidi are always very friendly and helpful. The place is big and I’ve met some really good people here. The majority of members are very polite and respectful. The only thing that makes me not give it 5 stars is the terrible wifi service and there is a funky smell in the men’s showers. I hope that these issues will get resolved quickly as both of them are important especially the smell in the showers which could be mould buildup.

Expérience fantastique: Spacious, this is important for comfort. Good equipment ample equipment so the need to share is rare. Intentional placements of gym equipment such as treadmills with places of air flow and glute bridge machine in the corner. The people in this gym have a good vibe for working out. Harman was great, he understood my needs for the gym was a deciding factor in signing up.

Expérience négative: I had a awful experience today. I booked a yoga class for 11am(by Luda K). When I got there, some lady told me that yoga class was cancled. She was even not a staff. At least 10 people who showed up for the class wasted their time. I didn't get any notice about cancellation. I didn't get any explanation about situation. This is really ridiculous. I didn't want to start my saturday morning with this bad feeling.

Are you kidding me? Have you ever listen to the people regarding AC issue. But you gave all good and fresh area to Personal training and even you extended for them ? I can say all good area are belong to them. Because they pay more money and they can train there but upstairs still there is AC issue. Please donot comment we gonna fix etc etc , instead of saying, just do it. And lastly we DO understand! you better check your self and do better.

Expérience fantastique: Homa the front desk manager and heidi are wonderful front desk employees, They’re so kind and welcoming. You’ll absolutely love this gym. The equipment is outstanding and up to date. I would 100% recommend that everyone choose this gym as their go to gym. Everything is very clean and the environment is amazing and friendly. The members are respectful and won’t take your equipment if you’re using it, and they have a pool and yoga room.

Expérience négative: I have been going to this gym for the last 5 years. They have friendly staff and personal trainers. All the equipments are well-maintained. I love that they have swimming pool and sauna, although sometimes it has closure. All is well until… I would like to file a complaint to the recent renovation to the 1st floor. They blocked off the stretching area on the turf for personal training purpose, meaning for those of you who would like to stretch after workout need to go through the alley and go up to 3rd floor to stretch. They also moved some machines to the personal training area so that general public do not have access to those machines. This creates huge inconvenient to the customers and I am reconsidering changing my main gym.

Expérience fantastique: Better than other Goodlife clubs in North York. Spacious Weigh-lifting, cardio space with ample equipment & mens changing room with loads of locker. The staff were friendly and helpful. I liked multiple flat bench, cable machines, lifting platforms and multiple dumbbells workout areas. Was not able to explore everything in one visit. The air conditioning wasn’t working in the upper deck, probably due to ongoing construction, hopefully gets fixed soon. Better than Goodlife Yonge & Finch for sure. Youth aged members but respectful. Improvement suggestions - Need more incline & decline bench press (1) and mens shower had an unusual smell which wasn’t pleasant. Overall-Recommended for Gymrats

Expérience fantastique: #1 Goodlife in Toronto. This gym has it all great staff, all the equipment you ever wanted including hot yoga, pool, the best steam room and 3 floors of equipment for all your exercise needs. Not to mention one of the floors just tripped in size and got a full renovation with great lighting, brand new equipment and a huge turf zone.

Expérience négative: I am writing this review to help the gym improve its service quality, as well as to protect my legitimate rights and personal privacy. Around 9:45 PM on August 3rd, while I was exercising at Goodlife Madison, I used a personal tripod, wore headphones, and was facetiming with my friend. A female customer nearby asked if I was recording a video, and I politely and clearly stated that I was not recording any video. After finishing my workout, I went to the women’s bathroom to take a shower. Right after I had finished showering and was still wrapped in a towel, not yet dressed, a female staff member named "Paniiz" abruptly entered the shower area to question me about "recording videos," based on another customer’s complaint. Although I clearly reaffirmed that I was not recording any video, she continued to warn me to "be careful" because customers were upset. The act of a staff member entering the bathroom while I was in my most private and vulnerable state was unprofessional and displayed a severe lack of respect for personal privacy. Having a stranger approach me in such a sensitive situation caused deep psychological discomfort, anger, and frustration. I felt unjustly treated because I was not recording anything yet was approached as if I had done something wrong. The repeated warning to "be careful" intensified my feelings of being unfairly accused, causing anger and resentment. This situation left me completely passive, unable to fully and comfortably defend myself at a moment when I felt most vulnerable. This type of scenario can lead to prolonged feelings of stress and damage to personal self esteem. The attitude of this staff member was entirely unprofessional and inappropriate. Respect for customer privacy is the minimum standard expected in any professional customer service environment, especially at a gym. Entering directly into the shower area without prior notice or patience is highly unacceptable and disrespectful. I question how a well established gym like this can lack clear protocols for addressing customer complaints. If proper procedures had been established, staff would not act so impulsively. This incident clearly indicates insufficient employee training, particularly regarding communication skills, conflict management, and empathy toward customers. I would like to emphasize that, from now on, if any issues arise involving this particular employee displaying disrespectful behavior or difficulties toward me, I will consider it as personal retaliation due to my posting this review. I sincerely hope the gym will carefully review and retrain staff in basic communication and conflict-resolution skills to prevent similar negative experiences from happening to other customers in the future. Expérience positive: Some say it's crowded and tiny, but I like it. It's in the area I live in, has a swimming pool, plenty of machines, free weights, steam room, large group fitness area, and spin classes. They are also tripping the size of one of their floors, so I'm actually really excited about when that floor finishes. The gym also connects to the sheppard center, so you can get there underground if it rains. All in all, I have nothing to complain about. More squat racks would be great - sometimes I have to wait for them as there's only 4, but otherwise it's not a bad gym

Expérience positive: Been going to this gym for some time now. I usually go at night due to my work schedule. The gym is currently under construction but still a decent amount of equipment available. They also have a swimming pool which is awesome. I had a negative experience tonight where I was in the change room and an overnight housekeeping staff was dusting the top of the lockers with looks like a lengthwise mop (just looked it up, I guess it’s called a microfibre mop)? I noticed he was doing this after I came out of the shower and walked towards my locker. I noticed that as he was mopping above the locker, he would bring down the mop and shake it, causing dust to aerosolize. I’m allergic to dust by the way. Shortly, I became congested and my throat started to itch. I got out in time and took Benadryl right away. I’m still congested and my throat isn’t itchy. What if there was someone that was more sensitive to dust than me resulting in a compromised airway? It was upsetting the lack of consideration from this staff. I just called GoodLife to make the front desk staff aware of the situation and the staff was very receptive and understanding. That’s why I’m giving this gym a lower rating.

Expérience négative: Overall, the gym is fine, but a few things are frustrating. Personal trainers act like they own the place. On certain days, they don’t wear uniforms at all, which makes it hard to tell who’s staff. From a health and safety perspective, that’s a concern!!if someone needs first aid, how are members supposed to know who to turn to? Personal trainers also rarely use the designated personal training zone, even when it’s completely empty and the rest of the gym is busy. Instead, they take over the turf area. On top of that, most trainers seem to run their clients through the same handful of exercises, with little variety or personalization. Renovations are in progress, which is great, but there’s no AC on the third floor during this time and only one small rented fan for the whole area. If money’s being spent on upgrades, renting a few more fans doesn’t seem like too much to ask. I guess owning a couple would be too expensive for them. Lastly, it's pretty clear they don’t actually read reviews, but they just reply with generic, copy-paste responses that sound like they came from ChatGPT.

Expérience positive: I’m not a huge fan of this gym overall. It’s located in what feels like a dark basement, which I find a bit uninviting. I also don’t appreciate how some of the personal trainers walk around like they own the place and occasionally give you strange looks. The gym-goers can also be a bit intense; I’ve noticed people staring for longer than is comfortable. That said, I’m giving this place 4 out of 5 stars because the front desk staff are consistently friendly and professional. Most importantly, the manager was extremely understanding and respectful when I needed to cancel my membership due to a valid reason. She made the process easy and didn’t give me a hard time at all, which I really appreciated.

Prices are way too high — $110/month for unlimited, while Planet Fitness offers much better value at just $30, with cleaner and newer equipment. Even LA Fitness is only $56/month and far more organized. I’ve tried multiple GoodLife locations and none met expectations, especially for someone who trains daily. Honestly, Planet Fitness or LA Fitness are much better options.

The gym is huge, fully equipped, and always clean. The staff are some of the nicest people—always cheerful, supportive, and motivating. One of the best features of this location is the great pool and steam room, which my family and I really enjoy. They’re perfect for relaxing after a workout or just taking some time to unwind. I want to give a special shoutout to Homa, who helped me and my family sign up. She’s been incredibly helpful with everything—from booking group classes to guiding us through personal training options. She's always friendly, welcoming, and professional. Anytime we’ve had questions or concerns, she’s answered them clearly and kindly. Thanks to Homa and the amazing team, going to the gym feels more like a positive routine than a chore. Expérience négative: Avoid GoodLife Fitness North York - Dishonest Sales Tactics Had a very disappointing and frankly shady experience with the North York location, specifically with a rep named "Homa". She deliberately misrepresented the membership pricing - quoting a rate as if it was per month, when it was actually bi-weekly. Worse, she pitched pricing for two people but framed it as the total rate rather than individual rate to make it seem cheaper. Once we were ready to sign up, trying to rush us into signing up without clarifying anything. This wasn’t a simple misunderstanding - it was clearly done with intent to deceive and push a sale. It was very shady, deceptive and unethical. I’d seriously reconsider trusting any business that trains its reps to operate this way. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t trust this gym with my money or personal information. If this is how they treat potential members, I can only imagine what it’s like once you're locked in. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere that respects its customers.

Expérience positive: Great location. Lots of equipment. The members who go there tend to be more considerate than many other locations. Change-rooms are usually clean. I have always been able to find parking when I drive there. Yorkmills train station is very close by.

Expérience négative: Not worth the money - other gyms are better 1. Broken pool - was never fixed. The one at Madison centre has been broken for 9 months before I decided to leave . Similar with other broken gym equipment, took way too long to fix. This location in particular is old and tired. 2. Sneaky membership arrangement. My 13 year old son also had a membership attached to my account as a family member and paid by me. But when I cancelled my membership it apparently didn't automatically cancelled his eventhough he is a child and not paying for it. Not only that, they changed his membership without the family discount automatically to a higher price , no notification to me the account holder . 3. Horrible customer service. The manager could not even record my complain instead gave me a head office number to call. So if you considering to join a gym, go to LA fitness across the road instead , much better facilities including 25m lane pool and better customer service for half the price of membership.

Expérience négative: We were very excited to try out Goodlife and hoped to change our subscription from LA fitness to Goodlife however the people standing in the front (I don’t know what’s their title, they let u in and out and do the registrations) were very ignorant and wasted our time a lot. We came in to workout as a group and my 3 other family members already had the membership. Somehow the workers felt the need to make us wait for quite a good time while two of them were absolutely free just waiting to assist the next members, to just tell us about a mistake that they themselves had made and because of their own mistake they won’t be able to let us use the 3 day trial. They ended up letting us in for that one time however I don’t need to switch my membership to a facility where I am ignored and feel disrespected. However I had the privilege to meet the manager of this branch as we were working out and he is genuinely a very nice person and I respect him, I hope that he gets to know these concerns and hopefully work with team on fixing it.

About a month ago, I started personal training with Coach Joe at GoodLife Fitness. He created a very professional and detailed training plan for me, progressively improving my muscle mass and overall metabolism. In addition to the training, Joe also adjusted my diet based on my condition—carefully planning both the amount and types of carbohydrates, managing my carb intake while ensuring I get enough protein and nutrients. This not only helps with blood sugar control but also supports my muscle-building goals. Now, just about a month into personal training, I’ve already seen a significant increase in muscle mass, my insulin usage is gradually decreasing, and my blood sugar levels have become much easier to manage. I needed to visit a chiropractor almost every week to manage the discomfort. I started training with Joe at GoodLife Fitness over five months ago, and I’m still working with him now. He created a well-structured and personalized workout plan that gradually strengthened my core, glutes, and leg muscles, all without causing any injuries. Thanks to his guidance, my lower back has improved a lot, and I rarely need to see my chiropractor anymore. And the team is not highly competent. I paid more than $120, even though I called them multiple times to cancel my subscription, but they kept telling me that the manager was not available. Eventually, I had to go there myself to resolve the issue after a while.

Expérience négative: March 11-The review below I did a couple of weeks back. Today they did it again. My shows were stolen from the locker room. Just left them there for 10 minutes to take a shower and came back and my shoes were gone!!! Thise were 250$ shoes. As always, nobody says anything and it’s all on us members. As I said then. This is the worse gym there is. I’m finishing my membership there. I had it. This is the worse GL club. It’s a huge place so “everyone “ is welcome. Unfortunately that brings in people that don’t have any kind of respect for others. Men s locker rooms is always a surprise. You can find rest of food or trash in the lockers, people trim their body hair in the open a leave hairs on the floor, leave wet towels on the floor. I wouls stay away from this place if you can help it. Unfortunately for me I don’t have other options in the area. Also they reduced yoga times in the afternoon. There used to be 2 classes and now it’s only one and the other option is paying 20$. Anyway, worse experience for me

Expérience négative: Please turn the music down in the squat rack area, I tend to workout around 4-5am and for some reason the music has been blaring in that area. I’ve asked for it to be turned down but it’s annoying to have to do every time I go, everywhere else seems normal volume. Also, at this point I don’t think the pool is coming back so if you are looking for a gym with a pool you should look elsewhere. It’s almost been a year with no updates. I’ve been going to this gym since it was an Extreme Fitness and it’s only been getting worse over time, if LA Fitness was 24 hours I’d go there instead.
