Expérience négative: I was cool with this place at first, but that changed fast once I realized they let certain gym influencers film content here that pushes really bigoted, offensive stuff. They regularly feature Mark Plummer, whose online posts are some of the most vile, hostile, and discriminatory content you’ll come across. Once I saw that, it was pretty clear this gym isn’t a welcoming space for a lot of people. Definitely not the environment I want to support.

Expérience fantastique: I put off joining for a long time because I thought it would be intimidating—turns out I couldn’t have been more wrong. The people here are some of the friendliest and most down-to-earth I’ve met, and training has become the highlight of my week. The vibe is motivating, the equipment variety is amazing, and I love that it’s not weighed down by typical commercial gym “rules.” Everyone respects the space and it’s always a blast to be there. I just wish 20-year-old me hadn’t been so scared to sign up. Props to Nic for creating a space that’s as motivating as it is welcoming—I’ve never felt more at home in powerlifting.

Expérience négative: It’s nice to have a community vibe and everyone minding their own lifts unless it’s to encourage you. In general everything is well organized and there’s a good assortment of equipment. Cons: - It’s frustrating having to pay for things that are consistently broken/unkept.Plenty of their equipment is ripped with a lot of exposed foam on seats. For example, over half a bike seat was completely gone - unsafe and unsanitary. - The bathrooms smelt like mold/mildew consistently over the 4 months I was there. I wouldn’t feel clean if I took a shower there. - Looked like there was some form of dark green growth on the walls - may have just been a lot of dirt … but still. - If you want to Oly lift on their one platform for it, you may be right beside someone else lifting which seems unsafe and did lead to a near-miss. - There’s not much space to do body weight exercises but understandable for how they advertise their gym - Mandatory Key fob is $20 but their doors don’t lock so anyone could come in The energy is a nice alternative to a commercial gym however I’m not surprised to learn they stayed open during Covid as it doesn’t seem they prioritize cleanliness or client health.

Booked a tour with them, because I need to get into a gym with better equipments and environment. I can’t find any staff to help me when I got to the gym. Tried calling them, can’t reach them at all.

Expérience fantastique: Joined 613 Lift in April 2024 and only because I relocated away from the city after 9 months am I no longer there. At 49 having a 2 decade love affair with powerlifting training then moving on into Bodybuilding type training, this place was Heaven. Half the gym is geared for straight up powerlifting 3 lifts, no shortage of seasoned lifter rdy to spot or lift off, never ran into shitty attitudes, just straight up goal focused lifters. the other half of the gym is geared with a variety of machines, shit tones of plates, dumbbell's everything and anything you would ever need. bathrooms were always clean, gym was always clean and no bullshit policies about chalk, gym bags, or using your cam to film your workouts , or do your thing. in some ways its sad I've moved on but Ill always hold 613 Lift and the community near and dear to my heart.

It’s easily the best gym in Ottawa - - top notch, advanced high quality equipment and an abundance of squat racks - I’ve never worked out and not seen someone cleaning. The place is spotless. - Found an amazing trainer (props to Tyson!!) who got me on track to bettering my health - general chill friendly vibe with extremely friendly people, in no way intimidating - the people who workout here are crazy fit and I find it motivating. I just love coming here. Check this place out!!

Owner Nick was very nice and accommodating to me coming in on a day pass, as I was visiting from out of town. I travel around the world every week and this was one of top 5 I’ve found anywhere and my favorite gym in Canada. I counted 11 racks you could squat in, counting the 3 ER power racks, and several sets of kilo plates for the purists.

Expérience fantastique: This gym was sweet. We're from our of town and I don't like your anytime fitness type of gyms. So when I found this gym on instagram, I knew it would do the treat. Nick was very welcoming and he takes care of this gym very well.

Expérience négative: Owner sold me a 100 lb Olympic Plate for almost half a grand during a pandemic. You would think a licensed business owner would have more ethical practices, but it seems scamming people on Facebook Marketplace is a side business he uses to fund his gym with fancy Rogue equipment. He was suppose to give (and brought with him) two plates which I paid for but gave me one and drove off.

Very friendly atmosphere, and I wish I lived in the area so that I could use it more often. Sadly I live 3 hours away, but am seriously debating on driving to the area just to use this gym again. Big thanks to the owner Nick for letting me use the gym before I even sent the payment , he seems like a good dude. Ton of modern hammer strength and even Arsenal brand equipment that I've always wanted to try, you can tell this place was built by a true lifter rather than walking into a cookie cutter gym like goodlife or planet fitness. 10/10 rating on this place

Would definately consider a membership if I lived in Ottawa. Just watch out not to crack a joke about powerlifters if you are the sensitive type...hint: owner is a powerlifter and he does not appreciate that kind of humour, lol

The owner, Nick, is awesome and takes care of his clients well, and does his best to keep his gym in very very good condition. I had just done quite a bit of travelling lately, so had to put up with other gyms, either that were much less maintained, or that were a complete mess. Travelling made me appreciate this facility more. It's hard to find such a great well-equipped gym! Thanks!
