Expérience fantastique: My main gym location and I love it here and adore the staff

Expérience négative: It has been a while since the steam room has been out of order, and many members are becoming increasingly frustrated. There has been no timeline provided for when it will be fixed, which only adds to the disappointment. We expect GoodLife management to take action and prioritize getting this issue resolved as soon as possible.

Expérience négative: It just doesn’t make sense that the steam room has been broken for over 4 weeks and still isn’t fixed. How does it take this long to sort out something so basic? No updates, no timeline, no one seems to care. This kind of delay really shows a lack of professionalism and respect for paying members. We deserve better.

Expérience négative: I have been a member for over 3 years at this GoodLife location. Have always had a decent experience. Most of the time the equipment is broken or the facilities are out of service to some extent, but I can usually get over it. Today was honestly just the final straw. I have only ever left two reviews in my life, this being the second. So, I’m really usually one to just put up with the bs like everyone else. The staff are usually pretty decent, but honestly the some of the younger staff spend most of the time on their phones or talking to their friends that are working out over helping customers. Today an older lady with darker hair at the front desk was quite judgy as I was attempting to enter. I did leave and decided it was time to make some kind of review. Was feeling quite sore and what not from travelling recently and was gonna get a little work out then hit the steam room. Steam room has been broken on and off for months now. It was broken when I left a week ago, but I was hoping it would be fixed. I understand it’s probably out of control of the business itself, so I was talking to my wife at the counter as I said “oh that sucks”. I then decided I wasn’t feeling just up for a workout and proceeded to leave. As I was doing this, the front counter staff member said “that’s all you use the gym for?” And it was in a tone that made me feel judged. I know she will probably read this and reply “I wasn’t judging you”, or “you took it in the wrong way”. If I did, then so be it, but this is way Google allows truthful and factual reviews. Look, I work in a field where I am confronted constantly. A little bit of judgement from her or anyone for that matter doesn’t bother me. I am yelled at, berated, and potentially assaulted regularly, but I still have to remain professional or I receive complaints like this. I am a 6 foot 4 dude and 250 pounds. I truly don’t care about what she said or how she said, it’s just the fact that I pay 58 dollars biweekly for myself and my wife to workout here and equipment or facilities are always broken in some way, the staff are usually non attentive except for a super cool younger dude who does awesome, and the last thing I need is some staff member judging me for how I use the gym. If I pay 58 bucks biweekly, I’m gonna go in there and sit in a chair for 3 hours if I want to and it shouldn’t be her business unless I am using the gym against policy or unlawfully. Then by all means, judge me and throw me out. Managers and owners of GoodLife Airdrie, all I’m asking is to have your staff mind their business unless it is their business, do the work they are hired to do, and attempt to fix things as soon as possible if it is within your control. It’s a business and people are paying to use it after all. That’s all I’m saying. If the lady was the manager, then just be more professional please. Anyone who regularly goes here knows everything I’m saying is true, except for maybe a one off with a staff member who was maybe also having a bad day.

Expérience négative: Update: its been a few weeks now, still not much seems to be done!? It would be nice to be able to use one of the cardio bikes, but haven't found one that works with a working TV and yet no out of service tags on any of them! Previous review: I Like this gym, however I see the lack of maintenance, cleanliness and poor washroom attendance. Seriously, when it comes to cardio equipment, only 25% of the machines work properly! I have mentioned this to staff, but maintenance tags we not put on machine anyway. Treadmills broke, bikes broke, very few TVs work. When they do we don't want Global Toronto!! Hello we live in Calgary! Simple fix. For over 2 weeks now Lotion in men's bathroom has been out, plus 2 out of 3 soap dispenser empty and the 3rd 1/4 full. You never see any staff walking around disinfecting equipment. It also gets tiring chasing down handles and clevis' to put on equipment. It would be nice if they paid more attention spite the high monthly fees you pay. They seem to focus more on selling training packages to the tune of over $1000.00 a month then seem disappointed you don't agree to part of a mortgage payment!

Expérience positive: Good gym, has everything you need, I wish there was a policy for people who dont wear deodorant to be removed a few times the entire gym has smelled so bad it was almost unbearable to work out.

Expérience négative: Honestly I was not impressed with the high pressure placed on me to do a one year personal training. Just wanted to go to the gym

Expérience positive: I love Goodlife, I have been going to goodlife for the past 10 years and I have been coming to this one for the past 3 years but lately it is definitely feeling quite small. Airdrie is growing tremendously and it is always full now. You can’t find a machine anymore and it is hard to get a work out done. Please consider getting a bigger or opening a second location.

Expérience fantastique: Best gym and if you are looking for best personal trainer, yes this is the gym can provide you! I am training with Anmol since last summer and my transformation is amazing! He is just so amazing and knows what workout suits you best! Thank you Anmol Also the guy with glasses, he’s always cleaning the equipment and wanna thank him too! Bravo!!

Expérience négative: Decent gym with good equipment but compared to other GoodLife gyms it is woefully undersized relative to the amount of members. Given the growth of Airdrie over the last few years an upgrade to a bigger space, or a second location to provide an experience in line with other Goodlife’s is desperately needed.

Expérience négative: This gym has honestly been going down the tubes since they got the new GM. The gym has become some rundown, dirty, dusty, smelling like mold in the change rooms. It also has now have an "ick" feeling now the majority of the staff is entitled and don't do anything. I see the staff, especially entitled personal trainer, I would NOT trust with my fitness goals what so ever. I see them parking right out front the front door, hog the weights in their personal training pit, don't clean up after themselves and clients, literally in the way for us members and some of the trainers stare at us members especially female beyond uncomfortable. This gym is not the Goodlife that was once was, even the members that have joined are entitled, creepy, in the way, hog several equipment, stare at women training, and don't wipe after themselves. This gym needs a desperate makeover from staff to renovating the space for how much us members pay for bi-weekly. I no longer feel comfortable training at this gym and don't feel safe anymore. Airdrie needs a better gym than this gym.

Expérience positive: Ive now seen 2 personal trainers not care about wiping down equipment. I gave the 1 guy the benefit of the doubt and deleted my first review. Today I saw a different personal trainer take someone to 2 separate machines beside each other and didn’t wipe anything down. Great gym other than seeing how many trainers don’t care about cleanliness

Expérience fantastique: This Gym is a fantastic fitness spot! The cleanliness is impressive, making it a comfortable place to work out. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and always ready to help, creating a positive atmosphere. With a wide variety of equipment and machines available, you'll find everything you need for a comprehensive workout. Highly recommend for fitness enthusiasts at any level!

Expérience positive: The gym employee falsely informed me that the steam room in the men’s change room is “automated” and operates on a cycle, implying there was no way to manually activate it. However, this contradicts my previous experience when a janitor kindly turned it on for me from the back. There was no reason for the night employee to make up a lie. Otherwise overall the gym is 5/5.

Expérience négative: It's been about 4 weeks now they are allowing 3 foreigners (I believe they are from Barbados or Jamaica) to use the steam room. Those 3 guys are EXTREMELY disrespectful. They bring Bluetooth speakers and put on music out loud inside the steam room. They also keep opening/closing the doors every 2 minutes. Sometimes they turn off the heat without consulting others. They scream and laugh so loud you can hear from the toilet area. They come almost every night around 7-8 PM. It's becoming too headache. Other people have complained as well and management did nothing about it. The steam room was part of the reason I was coming to this gym but if they will allow a group of people to be disrespectful to others I'll look for another gym.

Expérience fantastique: I always have the pleasure of interacting with Dante at Good life. I can't say enough good things about his great service. Dante is not only knowledgeable but also genuinely eager to help, making sure I always feel comfortable when walking into the gym. Whether I need help with equipment, advice on workout routines, or answers to my questions, Dante is always there with a smile and a solution. He goes that extra mile to make sure members have a great experience. And his helpfulness and positive attitude make the gym experience even better.

Expérience positive: I've been coming to this gym for over 10 years because it's the largest facility closest to me, it's a good space and has everything you'll need for the most part. I've seen many staff/management changes and this gym has improved significantly over the years from when i first joined. Post covid this place used to be really gross and current batch of staff would just chat at the front desk or doom scroll on their phones while sanitzer and paper towel would be completely depleted at multiple stations. Maybe about a year ago (?) they hired a gentleman who wears glasses and he's constantly cleaning and checking stock. The gym has been noticeably better since he was brought in- i think his name is Tyler. Hardest worker ive seen there in a long time. Kudos to him.

Expérience fantastique: Ive been working out at this gym for over a year and I’ve never once had any issues with GoodLife that weren’t solved in the moment. One time, my AirPod fell inside a machine (don’t ask how idk either) but I talked to an employee about it. Zach and Tyler both were a huge help and they successfully got it out for me. They were both friendly and cooperative about it and figured out how to get it out immediately and efficiently. Huge shoutout to them.

Expérience négative: Let's just start off by saying my car was stolen from this location back in 2017( all my things were locked in a locker, lock was cut off everything was stolen) I switched to other gyms since then. The car being stolen resulted in identity theft and the manager only comped my membership free for two months, pretty pathetic considering I was out thousands of dollars from this incident ( I was a member for over 8 years at that time ) I've switched back only because I've moved back to airdrie about a year ago. The last couple of days I've come in to this location no one has been at the front desk to get the tanning bed set up. And I've come in at reasonable times. Literally standing at the front desk like an idiot waiting. Most of your staff have no clue what it's like to work in customer service. Not personable at allllllll. Literally it takes two seconds to acknowledge if someone is waiting. Not a "hello"hey I'll be just a minute" while with another member. Specifically your dark hair one girl who decides to wear a skirt when she probably shouldn't be. Literally acting like I'm not even standing there waiting. -- I work in customer service and on clients and have for the last 16years. Pathetic describes the people you hire to work at this location. I've only had good experience/ interaction with your one younger male that usually works at the front desk. If I managed this gym I wouldn't hire any of them.

Expérience négative: Look at all the low rating comments and most of the response from GLife will say “we will let the management know”. With my experience I can confidently tell that the front staff are friendly and very easy to talk to. The issue starts with the GM at this location. Can you imagine a GM who doesn’t want to talk to customers and will only let staff talk to you though your issue may be very concerning and might impact all the customers? When asked about the process she hides behind the staff. What a useless Gen. Mgr? Absolutely rude and zero management skills.

Expérience négative: Worst experience ever, if you wanna take sauna bath after workout at night time and want to be relaxed then this gym is not for you because every night they turn sauna off although they claim to provide facilities for 24 hour and if you ask the reception to turn it on they keep making excuses, it has happened with me 4 to 5 times , they have mentioned that cleaning cycle is only on Sunday from 2 am to 3 am but I clicked this photo on Wednesday 1 am and sauna is not working , one day i was taking sauna and suddenly it stops working and then i had to make call from changing room to reception for turning it on and then they turned it on ,,, staff if so arrogant and they don’t wanna listen you and if you ask them they would say they don’t know anything about this ,,,

Expérience positive: Great gym, however the front desk staff is terrible. They don’t even acknowledge you when you walk into the gym, even if you say hey some staff just look at you like you didn’t even speak. Good gym but the customer service aspect could be much much better.

Expérience fantastique: I've been coming to this location for about 5 months now. I find it really good. Lots of equipments. Spacious Men's lockerroom. Plenty of shower stalls. Steam room could be upgraded, but still does the job. They have a separate section for women only if they want to exercise just by themselves, but everyone is extremely respectful regardless of the section. The overnight front desk staff are great. I don't know much about the day staff or the classes/private trainers. I don't use those services. Overall I'm satisfied so far.

Expérience fantastique: I joined this gym 2months ago. Every one is very nice. My personal trainer Erik kyler is wonderful. He is very polite. I am very happy that he my personal trainer. Keep up the good work Erik. Thank you so much. I love this gym.

Expérience positive: Straightforward gym. Classes are far in between, otherwise has everything you need for your daily workouts

Expérience négative: Planet fitness is cheaper. But really, the real issue is how broken most of the equipment is and how much you are ignored by staff when reporting broken equipment. Staff don’t care, they’d rather chit chat with their friends their entire shift instead of labeling broken equipment, requesting repairs, or cleaning.

Expérience positive: A great facility. Huge upgrade coming from Anytime, in terms of equipment and space. However I’m not sure why they sometimes three staff members on duty when there is almost zero cleaning being done, they all just sit in their phones at the front desk… Paper towels everywhere, and half the dispensers are empty, the ones that do have paper towel in them don’t have any spray. I’m not scared of germs by any means but the cleanliness of the gym compared to the amount of people working is really gross they could step up in this department for sure.

Expérience positive: I like going here. They have all the equipment I'm typically looking for. My biggest concern is the cleanliness. Some disgusting guy spilt what looks like protein shake at every station he was at on Friday. I watched him do it and I nobody said anything and even worse nobody did anything. That includes cleaning it up. He had it all over his hands and I went to the gym the following Monday and the equipment and floors are still covered in it. It's disgusting. The cleaning is so lax that even messes like this can last for at least days.

Expérience négative: I forgot my key fob and the Staff were busy sitting on the equipment, walking around and the staff member who did see me just sat on the phone across the gym just looked at me. So after five minutes I left and got a membership at another gym and cancelled my goodlife membership later that week.

Expérience fantastique: Came in today, a gentleman named Josh helped us get a membership he was great help and got us out of here within a few min! Definitely would recommend talking to him when signing up.

Expérience négative: Absolutely don’t know who’s running the gym now but 2 of the 8 bathroom stalls have no soap and stays like that for half the week which is inconvenient and they don’t check the changing rooms because after the weekend there’s always someone’s old towel either in the locker or on the floor! This place has gone down hill and now I have lower expectations

Expérience fantastique: We love this branch as it very big, it have a great variety of machines, massage chairs, among other things, and pretty near Calgary specially if you live in the northeast.

Expérience négative: Not sure where to start... gym is always dirty, equipment is never fully clean as you'll see the same dirt on the machines every day for weeks. Soap was empty for over 3 days in one of the dispensers in the mens washroom. Some equipment is literally falling apart with missing pieces. If there is staff at the front desk... 90% of the time they never greet you or even look up, they just play on their phones or chat with each other, one girl I've never seen leave the chair or look up when anyone comes in. Used to be a really good gym but management changed around a year ago to someone with no management experience. Planet Fitness (when open) will hurt this location if management doesn't take control of the place and train their staff.

Expérience négative: The gym is overall amazing; plenty of equipment and space to accommodate everyone. However I have had many experiences where the front desk is empty, where the handful of staff could be seen having long conversations with eachother in various places around the gym or on their phones… There have been times where I’ve had to wait upwards of 5-10 minutes just to get a towel.

Expérience négative: They haven't spent a penny at this location since it opened. The TV's should have been replaced five years ago. There hasn't been a new piece of equipment installed since the 1990s. Something is always broken, takes weeks to fix or they pull it out. Bathroom always smells bad and the fixtures are not touchless. The dumbbell area is always crowded they don't have enough equipment in this area. There are dozens of cardio machines that never get used and the weight area is really crowded. Clearly no one cares who uses what or how they can optimize the space.

Expérience positive: I love the club, just wish people respect each other, I’ve seen customers not cleaning the equipment after use and even spitting on the paper trash cans, this is unacceptable and the worst part the front desk was informed but did nothing. We are all in this together

Expérience négative: Yesterday, I was informed I cannot use the club without c19 vaccine or negative test. Flat out discrimination. You guys are contributing to a two tier society. It really is disturbing to see this in Canada. Time will show how wrong these actions you are taking.

Expérience négative: Use to be my favourite GoodLife but unfortunately they have been going downhill as of lately and it’s becoming one of the dirtiest locations especially the men’s bathroom with only one working urinal and the other 2 taped off! How long does it takes to fix the urinal? Been like that for weeks!

Expérience négative: This is by far the worst goodlife in the Calgary area. I live in Airdrie but drive out of my way to go to Calgary locations just to not go to this location unless I have to. Equipment is always broken, the location is smaller than most other goodlifes and has less Equipment and space, even the men's washroom was down to 1 urinal for about a month last time I was there because the issues are never fixed. I always see staff members wondering around with cleaning supplies and yet the showers and bathroom facilities always feel and look disgusting.

Expérience positive: The gym is very clean, there is a wide selection of equipmemt, the staff is lovely and people put their weights back. The gym is also not excessively busy (well in the mornings because that is the time I train).

Expérience fantastique: Its a great gym! Has a big turf zone for all those functional movements! Its loaded with good equipment and the gym is kept tidy! It has everything you could want! Some excellent personal trainers work there as well!

Expérience positive: I love this gym for the women’s section! very spacious and love the 24/7 hrs. Update: started coming to this location regularly again after switching for a couple years, and i have to say I still like it but wished they kept up with cleaning more, especially with the price increase this year I really don’t enjoy seeing the same dirt exist in the same spots. For about 2 months now i feel like the locker cubbies never get wiped down, always seeing the same weird short hairs and dirt in the same spots, idk when the last time the woman’s washroom doors were wiped down (been staring at the same weird white stain on the stalls)

Expérience négative: Awful treatment by manager. I asked if I could come in earlier than my 7 pm start time and receptionist said no problem. Ten minutes on the bike the manager walked into the room to tell me to get off the bike because of the rules they had implemented due to the pandemic. She was absolutely rude this woman; I simply quit the place!

Expérience fantastique: As with most of Canada, my wife and I have been easing back into pre-covid routines at the gym. It can be daunting to resume a workout routine after a break of several months (yes, we were pandemic slackers). Having said that, the early shift staff at GoodLife in Airdrie are top notch, always smiling (even through the masks) and going the extra mile to keep the equipment and change rooms clean and safe - and all with a cheery attitude, even at six in the morning! So a big shout out to Jack, Murial, and Julie on the early morning crew at GoodLife in Airdrie! You are very much appreciated!

Expérience fantastique: GoodLife Airdrie is amazing! The club is large and very well equipped. Machines are cared for and maintained. The gym is well stocked with weight and multiple machines of the same type so availability is rarely and issue. The staff keep the gym immaculately clean. With the pandemic, cleaning of equipment is continuous and there is availability of wipes and sanitizer everywhere. The staff are outstanding! They genuinely care about their members and work so hard to make the club experience enjoyable! They make you feel like part of the family everyday! I have been going to this gym consistently for 5 years. It is, by far, the best gym I have been to. I highly recommend this club!

Expérience fantastique: Goolife, the best of the best - more expensive but worth it for the quantity and quality of equipment available and the many different goup fitness classes. People who come here seem less chatty and more serious about fitness. One of the cleanest gyms i have belonged to.
