We give children and youth the chance to Dream Big. As Canada’s largest child-and-youth-serving organization, Boys & Girls Clubs transform lives by providing safe places where kids can develop confidence, gain skills, and experience success so they can reach their full potential.
Today this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous peoples.
BGC Niagara- EJ Freeland Community Centre & Child Care: Opinions
Negative experience: The only time I usually would like to visit this place is on the weekend, sucks to only have free time on the weekend and can't ever visit because of hours. Miss when this place was open on the weekends during the YMCA's time.
Positive experience: The staff are very pleasant. Lovely sauna. The whirlpool on the pool deck is better than the one in the women's changeroom.
Fantastic experience: I love going to the basketball court it’s my favourite place to go to practice and make friends but the membership and go everyday I love this place
Negative experience: The beginners class to water aerobics are very loud do to people talking and you leave stressed out. The instructors don’t stop the class to tell them to quit down.
Fantastic experience: Helpful and courteous!
Positive experience: understaffed not very clean. equipment from 1970 all the cardio equipment is rusted and hard to use because of the rust and old unkept machines. The weights and benches are useful if you do not have your own at home they have one useful rowing machine but it is also very old and used the seats are cracked the shower area and sauna are always dirty. they do not even have a clock that works in the change room it has been stuck for months. The front staff is very strait forward and not very kind or welcoming. the pool is the only decent thing there but do not show up expecting to swim when you need to because the swim schedule makes it hard to plan a time to swim because they only have one lifeguard and they are so understaffed and underfunded they are struggling to stay open and its not fair to charge what they charge for a run down facility with little 12 year olds running around like a ymca dance. it is dark depressing and doesnt make me feel like having any sort of good time or a complete workout. most times the small gym floor is filled with 10- 14 year old kids using old unsafe equipment. the last time I was there the old lady at the front desk unprofessionally blurted out that my membership was canceled because I paid for three months called and complained about the schedule and the children running around the gym they told me they would send me a cheque to cover one of the three months that I didnt really use because every time I would go the gym room was filled with 20 foreign children through some refugee program or a bunch of teenage kids that hog the equipment and sit on their phones and leave all their backpacks and whatever laying around everywhere. I understand they are trying to do something fro the community but do the community does not need a bad fitness centre when we have two other options here in Fort Erie. I recommend making it for children 14 and younger and 60 plus because you are ripping the rest of the community off. thanks
Fantastic experience: Lots of programs and great service always. I love this place.
Fantastic experience: My daughter does gymnastic on Tuesdays this was her 3rd week the teacher showed them something new each week and is patient with the kids there
Positive experience: Great fitness classes, my teens enjoy playing basketball, running the track upstairs and the teen zone hang out on Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings. There's a fun swimming pool and lovely whirlpool/hot tub
Fantastic experience: Great staff .. you will be missed .....
Fantastic experience: Awesome daycamp this summer. Our first year since the changeover. Stephanie is absolutely amazing. All the staff are.
