The Municipal office will be closed on Friday, April 18, 2025, for Good Friday, and Monday, April 21, 2025, for Easter Monday. The office will re-open on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. with normal business hours.

The North Kawartha Community and Fitness Centre will be open with weekend hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, and closed for Monday, April 21, 2025, for Easter Monday.

The Haultain and Anstruther Transfer Stations will open with normal business hours on Friday, April 18, 2025, and open with Sunday hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025, per the winter schedule.

Curbside Garbage and Recycling collection will operate as normal on Monday, April 21, 2025.  Please have your material out at the curbside by 7:00 am.

For missed curbside garbage collection, please call Waste Connections at 705-742-4268 and for missed recycling collection, please call Emterra at 1-888-597-1541.

Please do not place your brush on the roadside. You are responsible for disposing of your brush at the locations below.Do not pile debris on municipal roadways or ditches.Roads crews are chipping Township debris only in front of residences

The Anstruther and Haultain Transfer Stations are accepting brush (no stumps) from the storm.  Debris is accepted free of charge and debris over 6” in diameter needs to be separated.Other Storm Debris Locations

Crews are working to clear debris from municipal roads over the next several weeks. To report a roads emergency after hours please call 705-742-6823.

Reduced load restrictions are applied each spring during the thaw when the road network is most vulnerable to help prevent permanent damages to pavement and surface treated roads.

The Garbage and Recycling program in North Kawartha consists of Curbside Garbage and Recycling Collection, and two Transfer Stations (Anstruther and Haultain).

Are you looking for the perfect space to host an event?  The Township of North Kawartha has a number of indoor facilities available to rent. Banquet Halls, meeting rooms and arena/ice surface are all available for rent.

Fantastic experience: We have been cottagers in this area for 19 years and having recently made this area our permanent residence,we have always had a positive experience when dealing with the municipal office in Apsley. Small Town does make a difference .
