Okotoks Karate

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our boys to Okotoks Karate since September and love what we are seeing! Sensei Steve is so amazing with our boys! We were concerned that our oldest boy who is autistic, would have a challenge with it, but Sensei is so good at working with him! They say a flower needs good sunshine to grow strong and beautiful, and Sensei Steve is a great part of that light. The Dojo is very affordable, which these days is a pleasant relief, but what the boys are getting out of this is Priceless.. Thank you Sensei Steve

Fantastic experience: Sensei Steve is phenomenal. He is very supportive of the students and takes an interest in all of the kids. He has a wonderful sense of humor that the kids just love. Our son loves him so much that he wanted to model his haircut after him. The skills being taught go above and beyond karate. We would recommend Sensei Steve's classes to any parents looking! We love Okotoks Karate!

Fantastic experience: This place is great and so is Sensei Steve. It's a little early to call it and I worry about jinxing things but, I've seen a huge difference in my five-year-old since she started here about a month ago. She's proud of how she's improved in class, seems more focused, in general, and more respectful when I ask her to do things. It's a little sus, to be honest. (Joking.) Highly recommended, especially for kids who have trouble focusing in other sports. I think the direct instruction and consistent expectations are great for the little ones.

Fantastic experience: Okotoks karate is THE place in Okotoks and surroundings where your kids can learn martial arts in a safe and friendly environment. Sensei Steve is the best and he's super friendly and patient with the kids and older students. We have our 4 kids doing karate here and they love it. I would never send them to another dojo. I wish I could rate this place with more than 5 stars because they definitely deserve it.

Fantastic experience: I have been bringing my son to Okotoks Karate since it's inception 5 or 6 years ago. It has been a tremendously positive experience for my son's growth both physical and mental. Sensei's Steve and Duane provide excellent guidance for the dojo while teaching both martial arts and life skills. My son has the attention span of a typical 11 year old boy (which is brief at best). We have cycled through several other activities in the area (soccer, basketball, golf, swimming, etc.) but he remains highly motivated and interested in his karate training, and truly wants to succeed , progress and achieve!!

Fantastic experience: A great place not just for kids, also for adults. There is Steve the owner and some other black and almost black belts working as trainers. So they can split into smaller groups which is great so that there is a trainer for every level. There is training three days per week with different hours, so everyone can find the time which fits or you can go multiple times per week. He is also offering it for a reasonable rate and you will get a discount if you´ve got more then one kid joining the training. My son is there for about 4 years now and still enjoying it. So I would highly recommend this place if you want to learn Karate.

Fantastic experience: I have been studying karate and other arts on and off for the best part of 35 years. I have been with Okotoks karate for the last four years, attending with my daughter who started at age six. The time that I have spent with my my dojo family has been extremely enjoyable and rewarding. I am inspired by the patience that Sensei Steve Vinden has for the kids and the adult students too. Not only is karate taught but solid life values are also emphasised - respect, honesty, hard work, integrity. I hope to be able to continue my training with Okotoks Karate for a long time to come.
