Fantastic experience: I came back to this Gym after a few years break and I forgot how great it was. Even better now! Quality equipment, clean and tidy, and friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for a long time, maybe 15 or 20 years? Anyways, it is my kind of place. Everyone is welcome, the staff is friendly and obliging, and if anything breaks it gets promptly fixed. This is not a big city gym, it is Salt Spring's gym.

Positive experience: It's alright, just glad to have gym options on the island. Equipment is outdated and facilities are cramped and somewhat limited, but staff are nice and its convenient.

Negative experience: This is a decent gym, not the best ventilation and quite cramped in the cardio room. Staff were pleasant. However, you should be warned that if you purchase a drop in pass, you will not get a refund even when life circumstances made the need for such out of your own control. Owners hold rigidly to this policy. I originally just posted the above but... Since the owner is deciding to respond is such a way, what happened is that I purchased a 10 punch pass, used one and then got evicted. Gym passes and trying to track down a refund was (of course) at the bottom of my list of priorities, as I believed I would get a reasonable response. I do not even live on Saltspring anymore and only know a few people and yet the owner thinks they are being generous to invite me to sell or transfer my pass. I responded respectfully to this owner, and did give clear communication (not a threat, a heads up) ahead of time that I would be offering an honest review about the rigidity of this policy. I hope the owner feels good about their free $70 and puts it to use helping someone else who needs it. The owner has decided to stick rigidly to their policy despite extenuating circumstances, and I believe that folks should understand that before buying a pass here. I managed to get someone else to use my sauna pass and stopped in this weekend while visiting to discuss the refund, at which point the staff gave me the owner's email.

Positive experience: Extremely compact machine and weight room. Feels like a lot of the space could be used for the better.

Fantastic experience: Spent 5 months on SSI and loved going to Ganges Fitness everyday! Absolutely wonderful staff, super clean and they have all the equipment you might want or need. My favorite was doing a dance/aerobic routine in the large mirrored room to my favorite Motown music. Very grateful for all the support. Thank you Jen, Shawn, Janice, Kira and Erika!

Fantastic experience: Happy to stumble across this little gem. We'll equipped with everything the average lifter would need for resistance training. Make sure you ask for a tour because there's all sorts of goodies hidden in various nooks. Exemplary customer service, clean and well-maintained.
