Fantastic experience: I attend this studio online but have interacted over email and phone with them as well and I have to say that the team is absolutely incredible. The customer support team is amazing - so accommodating and supportive! I have emailed to ask questions or to ask for class recordings for classes I sign up for but can't attend live and they are very responsive and always willing to help. I called today to sign up for a class that I missed the booking window for and the person that answered the phone was incredibly kind and helpful and got me signed up before class started! In terms of actual classes I have had amazing experiences with the instructors. All the instructors that I've experienced class with have been incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and fun. They are always open to questions, ready to support you with any limitations, and their subject matter knowledge and ability to use terminology for body anatomy and movement is at a high level that you don't see everywhere. For level classes not hearing the studio music is no problem, but my one recommendation would be to engage a tech expert for the choreography classes so that online students can always hear the music. For some classes I cannot hear the music (and instructors are aware of this) which really sucks for a dance class!

This school rocks in more ways than one, offering an array of classes to suit any schedule at all levels :D!

Positive experience: Went to this studio for a birthday party (featuring pole lessons!) and omg!! The teacher was amazing. She was understanding and good at showing some moves and thorough in her teaching and explanations while also making sure there was time for other groups to test out the poles. Besides that, the space was gorgeous and the party was a blast

Fantastic experience: Wanted to give the studio a several months before I left a review and safe to say it's been a pleasure attending this studio and taking pole classes here. I reached out to this studio several months ago with questions and didn't realize I accidentally emailed the owner - but they were quick to respond to all my questions personally which left a great first impression. Studio and general atmosphere is really welcoming. I love the small class sizes! Elena has such a sharp eye for mistakes and I love how hands on she is! I had a few classes with Angie and she was also great and very friendly (and awesome music!) I love how I feel secure and adequately spotted because of the class size. The studio is well kept, clean and the space is utilized well and the poles are nicely spaced out. I don't have to worry about timing my spins to avoid other students and no pole share from what I can tell. And most importantly - I think the pole 1, 2 and inversions curriculum is really well thought out. There's probably a ton more positives that I'm forgetting right now! My only feedback would be to have some sanitary products available in the washroom (if they aren't already) and the main pole room can get a bit hot!

Fantastic experience: Merissa and her team are kind, accommodating, and communicative. Their email response time is incredibly fast. Looking forward to visiting their studio next time I’m in town!

Fantastic experience: This place is the best! I was only in Toronto for a month but went 6 times. I love that you can book individual classes and all the instructors offer something a little different, which I really liked. Lovely atmosphere and people as well!

Fantastic experience: I've always been slightly intimidated by dance classes.. but UV was amazing in making me feel welcome and totally comfortable. I had my intake with Christine, she was so kind to take the time to review my skill level with me so that I would be placed in the correct level for classes. In as little as 5 classes I learned SO much and it made a huge difference in my fitness, each class is so impactful and 10/10 worth it!

Negative experience: Updated review - Thank you kindly for your reply. Please check your email. Reply was recieved more than a day later from your studio (I purchased sept 10, your reply sept 12. I did reply back after mentioned to check with my cc company (SEPT 12) when it was not my cc or my fault at all it did not go through and it turned out to be your studio app that caused the issue . There was very little apology for the difficulty of this. I am removing 1 star for the poor CS response recieved back. Please check with your own platform before blaming user error. Thanks ---------------- Can not seem to even get a package to join. Studio was really slow in getting back to me. I am sure once you join they are great. But rating is based on my experience so far with them.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to UV since beginning of Jan, and I haven’t looked back since. I am forever grateful for this studio, the teachers are very skilled, kind and supportive. It’s a safe space for everyone and there’s absolutely no judgment. I recommend this studio to everyone, and I can’t stop talking about it. Give it a try!

Fantastic experience: It's a beautiful studio, and they offer so many different types of classes. The instructors are all patient and kind, and it is a great, judgement free atmosphere to learn and have fun. At the same time, the instructors are all knowledgeable and helpful. I'm pretty excited to learn more each class!

Fantastic experience: After taking an introductory package I quickly decided that their environment is amazing, the instructors are top-notch and the person on the phone who does the admin went above and beyond to make me feel like my business was valued and appreciated. I’ve since become a member and I love this workout! They break everything down and really give you instruction on what you should be doing! Highly recommended to anyone!

Fantastic experience: We went as part of a bachelorette and we had such a great experience! The teacher, Angie, went out of her way to make the class fun and accessible for all levels. Would highly recommend and will be going back!

Fantastic experience: LOVE UV! I thought I'd come and try a class just for fun, but ended up finding an amazing community of supportive people and an amazing new hobby. They have a variety of classes that cater to a variety of interests and goals, and can't wait until in person classes are a thing again. In the meantime, the virtual classes are great. Would 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic experience: After taking 6 beginner classes here I think I can leave a review. I highly recommend this studio to everyone. Great location (feel super safe compared to some other studios... ), great instructors (really cares about each individual), reasonable class contents for beginners, and great environment. I feel so lucky that I found this place.

Fantastic experience: I have been to several pole studios in the city, and UV is my favourite! It is a very tight-knit community of friendly students and staff. The intimate class sizes make it easier to get instructor-feedback and to make friends. While some other studios have either technical classes or erotic choreography classes, I love that UV has lots of both! Plus frequent showcases for students of all levels to gain performance experience :)

Negative experience: I made a reservation for a bachelorette party months in advance. When me and the 9 other women arrived I was told there was no reservation and we waited for 20 minutes where there was very little communication. Finally they decided to let us in after I showed email proof that I had booked a reservation (or attempted to in their eyes). The class was fine, the bride was happy so that’s all I cared about. But a while after we left I received an email demanding that I pay the deposit that I apparently never payed even though I gave my information over the phone. The owner said that for my own protection I should never do that when it said explicitly in an email from someone that that was okay for them to do. I payed the deposit almost instantly and was so mortified that I had been treated the same way a scammer would have been. I have emails of me asking how I could finish the process of booking and emails asking how to pay. I never received a response to those. I called and put down the deposit though. Just to wrap it all together I never received any sort of discount or anything. The class didn’t come with the boas, the gift for the bride, nothing promised in the website. Not only that I had to wait 20 minutes passed the scheduled class then got yelled at for not paying a deposit that I was told previously was payed. The owner then told me that I should’ve gotten a receipt to indicate it was booked, but that was never made clear to me either. Very disappointed with this whole experience and embarrassed because I was in charge of booking everything for the weekend. Too bad too because it could’ve been a lot of fun.

Negative experience: In general poor expression. This is definitely not the place to learn how to dance on the pole and progress. Classes are misdescribed: "spins and transitions" where was shown just a single spin, "pole flow" requiring knee protectors and socks, reminding crazy mix of floor play and twerk....I'm sorry but no, just 2 stars.

Negative experience: Took me a long time to consider writing a negative review for this business (nearly 6 months!). I was enrolled back in September 2018. I had high hopes and an initial great experience with my 1 month membership and their showcases. I originally came from brass vixens and thought of giving UV a try after a friend of mine transferred over and became an instructor there. It wasn't until a few classes in, until I realized that this studio wasn't as open and supportive for gender equality as my other previous studios. I understand that there's still some negative stigma for males in the pole dance space. I had started receiving a cold shoulder vibe from one of the instructors and felt rather uncomfortable. I thought it would be mature and confront the situation with a mature and honest conversation. Unfortunately, she didn't feel the same and just didn't wish to recognize my concerns and chose to just ignore me. Very unprofessional. I later brought the issue to the boss and hoped that I can make some progress and clear the air. I didn't want to continue in the space with any negativity in the air. Sadly, the boss didn't want to recognize my concerns and chose to side with her staff and asked me to not take anymore of that instructor's classes and avoid each other. Later, I had the feeling I wasn't all that welcomed and was not recognized as a valued member of the community, let alone a proper customer and was not given anymore dialogs. i had another 10 days left to my membership and was told, over email, I couldn't return without any future dialogue nor refund. I was shocked and tried to just ignore it and move on. This really broke my heart because I made some really great friends here. Sadly, this is not as open of a community as I thought. If you're here to just work on your craft, that's fine, but don't expect anything more if you're looking to make friends in this space. You're better off with brass vixens, where I'll return to. Maybe that's why there's many more students enrolled at brass vixens and so few at UV. I hope this doesn't come off as some sad rant but worth notifying potential future clients and hopefully the studio to take corrective action towards a more welcoming and equal community. For me, I can always grow my skills with any studio with time, but it's the friends and community that you connect with that makes the difference. Sadly, I cannot recommend this studio.
