Ajax Acro's & Durham Gymnastics Academy

Fantastic experience: Only club in Durham with a competitive program for boys! The coaches are amazing, we had a great experience at this gym,my son loves it and looks forward to training. Wish we had started our gymnastic journey here!

Fantastic experience: My daughter is in the Tuesday night jr girls gym and SHE LOVES IT! We have tried Dance and Cheer, but I have never seen her so engaged and excited. We registered here even though we live in Whitby because of suggestions by friends, and I am So Glad we did! Great job Ajax Acros! We will be participating for a long time I think.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been going here for a little over a year now. When she first started she couldn’t even do a cartwheel, now she can do a cartwheel, a round off, a back bridge with no support, hand stand (for a very short time still working on longer ones), balances on the beam with ease and bars! And it’s all been thanks to the wonderful support the team and staff here!

Fantastic experience: Both my 3 & 5 yr old attend here. They love it and are excited every night before class. I couldn't get either of them to go into Taekwondo....so this says a lot. Tammy is great, as are her staff members. TY ladies.

Fantastic experience: Attended an incredible showcase competition for Performance Teams at this gym. So welcoming to all of the athletes and the audience members. Incredible opportunity for the girls to showcase all of their hard work throughout the year. Fabulous entertainment and wonderful awards for the girls making them feel incredibly special. Way to go!

Fantastic experience: My kids were going to classes here before Covid and we loved it. Great staff & coaches. We enjoyed the recreational gym for parent&tot and youth. We miss it so bad. Thankfully my eldest will be going to summer camp to enjoy some practice. Covid restrictions sucks but hey they're doing everything they can to keep kids and staff safe, and stay open sa much as possible. That's very appreciated. Looking forward to fall classes.

Fantastic experience: Did the adult gymnastics class with L.A. the beginning of the year It was fantastic. I had so much fun, it was great to try something new like that!!! L.A. is super motivating and incredibly friendly. Will definitely do this again!!!

Negative experience: Parents beware!!! Zero stars!!!!! Would definitely not recommend!!!!!!! Firstly these people do not care about you or your children as we did not even receive a call from them about the incident that took place with our child. If you think your child will benefit, think again. They have eight children of different levels in the same group with one coach and one helper, who both look like they’re in their teenaged years. They can hardly handle the kids. We had our child enrolled twice a week On one of the days, there was a child in the group, that would not listen to the coaches and kept putting their hands on our child up to a point where we had to address this with the supervisor as we felt that our child was going to get hurt or worse. The supervisor simply advised us that they’d had that kid in classes prior and they’ve had the same issues with him , as he does not get along with some kids and that they are trying their best to keep our child and that child apart in the group of eight. They did try to keep them apart but the other kid would simply not listen to them and was always near our child and the other child could not keep their hands to themselves. For this reason, we were hesitant in registering our child up for the next session as we did not want to put our child back in the same situation. We spoke to the supervisor before enrolling our child and she checked and said that the other child had not enrolled for the next session and that we should enroll our son because we had till after the first class to withdraw. So we ended up enrolling our child in both sessions again. After the third class the other kid showed up in class and we were back to square one. And surely that very same day, there was another incident where the other child put their hands on our child. The supervisor pulled our child out of class and came out to us stating that there was an incident between the two and that they are both pulled out of class for it. Only to see that the other child was still in the group continuing the lesson. We were not happy to see this and tried to address this to the lady at the front desk who was not able to help us. We simply walked out of there to never return to either session again. We did not even receive a call from anyone when our child was absent for both sessions. I guess it’s all about the money for them. They do not care about the children!! Would definitely not recommend this place!!!!

Fantastic experience: My daughter enjoyed her summer kindernastics at Ajax Acro’s Gymnastics Club! She can’t wait to attend the advanced kindernastics this fall. The coaches were so nice and very accommodating. They are very patient as well to these little ones although they were not that hard to teach because they were very attentive and listen to the instruction well. I will definitely recommend this club to other parents like me!

Fantastic experience: I found this centre through a program called traveling tots via mommy connections Durham. With that program my daughter and I have been able to go to many gymnastics centres in Durham region. Ajax acros has been the one we have stuck with for going on two years. (Tot is 3 years old) The programs are well thought out, with very capable and hands on instructors. I am also adding in, this place is clean!!! That was very important for me.

Fantastic experience: I have two of my daughters taking the Gymnastics lessons here. The academy staff & teachers are nice and very helpful. I give thumps-up to Ajax Acro's.

Fantastic experience: Nothing bad to say about these amazing people.. left Pockering Athletic Centre due to their cash mill like treatment and so easnantly surprised how these folks treat the kids and how they don't make you feel like you're just another monthly fee walking in the door. Looking for a friendly place for your kids to do recreational or competitive gymnastics? Look no further.
