Negative experience: Hello to those who are reading the reviews before considering to join and sign as a member. First off, It`s very wise of you to do that first and I wish I had done research myself before anything as that is the smart thing to do. The big question is how much does the Best Secret Fitness membership cost ? Well, just like any other gym in Halifax they have different types of membership such as monthly and annually or private and semi private. Here is the list of payments that I had to make. - Two separate one time payment after signing: $287.50 + $191 - Biweekly Membership Fees: $33.50 -Session fees (for every time you go for a 25 minute workout): $25 Keep in mind that I had opted for the least costly membership that went along with the Black Friday deal and if you tally all the dollar values after a single workout session it totals to over $500 Next big question is what is their cancellation policy? Here is the BIG CATCH. Somewhere in their cancellation policy it reserves the right to the gym owner to cancel a membership without reason provided that the cancelled member is refunded. And that is, my friends, what has happened to me. After paying and signing with them, my membership was cancelled by them only two weeks later and the reason given was that my fitness goals posed a risk to my health. Was I refunded? YES Did I receive all my money back? NO They refunded me for one biweekly fee and $200 in cash (even though I had paid with card not cash) and got to unjustly keep over $250 of my money after they had cancelled my membership. To make matters worse, before I had received my refund they insisted on me signing that I have been refunded before I had received anything. Finally, do they have a privacy policy? YES but only directs you to look for it elsewhere and is not detailed in the membership signing sheet. It`s important to note that when I wrote my first review, the CEO Nataly Seidel took it upon herself to respond by detailing my medical condition on an online public domain after I confided with her in private which was huge a breech of trust and privacy for most people but I guess there is no where in their privacy policy that prevents them from doing that. Now I feel that It`s my duty to share my experience with my local community in Halifax because I know I`m not the first vulnerable person they have lured in and then thrown out after they have succeeded in their scam. But I`m hoping that if I share my story with family, friends, people I reside and work with and members of the Egyptian, Arab & Muslim community I could be the last person they take advantage of. Hopefully their clienteles are limited to those in their Larry Uteck social circle because I don`t know how they have the heart to keep money from those who so desperately need it. (Nataly you didn't have time to speak with me on the phone and yet you have all the time to write a full page response to me. Your manipulation and gaslighting deserve awards and recognition. A master scammer is blaming me for falling for her scam and taking time from her work day to prevent me from warning others. It should be noted that it's never her son nor her husband that respond to theses reviews because it's only her that needs to have the last word. This is a public domain for people to share their customer service experience and you did your utmost best to make me feel disrepected and belittled, well done. Now that she succeeded in giving me a humiliating exit after making sure she secured $287.16 of my money, now she is so hell bent on making sure that her image is squeaky clean. Someone else would have been able to see right through your luring skills but not a naïve person like me. I hope and pray that your deception and malicious intentions will be exposed because you will stop at nothing to silence people and deny their truth.)
Dear Zeinab, Thank you for your new review. As I stated in my response to your first review, we made the decision to cancel your membership based on concerns for your health and well-being. Your request to change workouts without considering potential health risks was something we could not accommodate, as we are not willing to harm your health in any way. Additionally, due to repeated tardiness, disruptive behavior, and multiple complaints from other clients—factors we carefully considered—we made the decision to cancel your membership. You were the first client for whom we had to make this decision, which was not taken lightly. I only responded to your first 4-star review regarding your health because you mentioned your health history in it, which you have since deleted. You paid a $100 joining fee, which includes our upfront check, training plan, and EMS suit. Your membership fee, as you correctly stated, was $29. Additionally, you paid $250 + tax for 12 semi-private sessions. You received a full refund for the services you haven’t used. After the last incident at the gym, you tried to convince me not to cancel your membership, while I was attempting to provide you with your refund. Even YOUR friend, who was trying to explain the situation to you as well, asked me if I needed a hug. This further reinforced that our decision to cancel your membership was in the best interest of everyone involved. While you expressed dissatisfaction, it’s clear that you are upset because you tried everything to prevent us from canceling your membership. You wanted to stay a client with us! However, we should stay with the truth: you were refunded for unused services, and our decision was made carefully, with the well-being of you and all our clients in mind. Furthermore, I must insist that you refrain from making judgments about our clients' backgrounds or residences when you have no knowledge of their circumstances. We wish you the best in finding a gym that better suits your needs. Reply 1st review: Dear Zeinab, Thank you so much for your review. I truly appreciate your feedback, and I’d like to take this opportunity to clarify a few things that may have been misunderstood. Please accept my apologies if there was any miscommunication. You started with us to improve your posture, as you mentioned having an diagnoses in the lower part of your spine. The body scan we conducted showed that your hip and waist are shifting to the side, which is why we initially agreed to focus on gradually building muscles to stabilize your posture. Once your posture improved, the plan was to transition to strengthening your muscles more intensively. After the third session, you requested that we stop addressing the diagnosed issue with your back, which could have serious consequences.You also asked us to design a workout plan assuming there are no back health concerns. After reflecting on your request, I sent you an email last Saturday explaining, that from a professional perspective, that focusing on a weight lift training without addressing your posture could negatively impact your health and well-being. Out of responsibility and care for your long-term health, we felt it was best to acknowledge that we may not be the right fit for your goals, as it seemed you didn’t trust our professional guidance. This is why we offered you a refund! Your review is a testament to the fact that our primary focus is not on money, ratings or image but on helping clients to achieve their goals in a healthy and sustainable way. Fantastic experience: I joined BestSecret Fitness a few months ago and the amount of strength and confidence I’ve gained is truly amazing. I’ve never committed long-term to anything fitness related before. I’m not a gym person…I’ve been a member of a few gyms over the years and got lost in most of them! I’m not lost here. Every session at BSF is personalized and tailored to my needs. The facility is first-class, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The coaches, Marlon, Nataly and Stephan are experienced professional trainers, and I believe they truly care and want the best for their members. Fantastic experience: I work in the building right across from this gym, and every day I go to Parklane Mall to grab a sandwich, passing by Best Secret countless times. I always thought it was a spa! Finally, early this summer, after getting my sandwich, I decided to explore the mall and walked into Best Secret—starting my journey with this amazing place. This is a truly unique gym, unlike any of the mainstream ones I’ve been to before. The whole experience is very personalized, customized, and high-tech. The coaches, Natalie, Stephan, and Marlon, are from Germany. They are not only highly experienced trainers but also incredibly friendly, humorous, and easy to talk to. Because of my job, I spend long hours sitting at a desk, feeling unhealthy and struggling to maintain an exercise routine. Since June, I’ve been coming to Best Secret three times a week, and my physical health has significantly improved. Sticking to it hasn’t been hard at all. Every workout here feels joyful!

Fantastic experience: Beautiful gym environment and very awesome and friendly staff! I have been consistently visiting my sessions for 4 months now for these reasons: - The EMS helps me better target my weaker muscles that I struggle to grow with regular exercises - I have had excellent development with my physique and athletic performance - The trainers customize the workouts for me depending on my specific body goals - I always get excellent feedback on proper form - It's easier to push through important intense reps when having a trainer keeping you accountable I have had knee pain for the longest time when playing basketball and even tried physiotherapy sessions. My trainer Marlon helped me develop more stability and strength in my legs and in just two weeks I was able to play again with 0 pain even until today. The main reason I prefer EMS training is that these sessions are only 25-minutes for a solid and effective workout twice a week. Whereas signing up with trainers in other gyms means spending time and money on multiple hours and days a week, which is harder to commit to. The workout programs are unique and I definitely suggest trying it for at least one session to experience EMS training if you haven't before

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a world class facility to improve your physical strength and mobility, look no further ! I was struggling with my knee osteoarthritis and could not even climb a staircase comfortably. I signed up for 12 weeks (2 sessions per week) and this has drastically improved my mobility and muscle strength. All of the trainers - Natalie, Marlon and Stephan are amazing beyond words. The facility is super clean, professional and the people are very warm and friendly. I highly recommend Best Secret Fitness !

Fantastic experience: I came upon this facility just by chance. I didn't have a lot of time to stop in but they had a brochure at the entrance so I took one. Best decision ever. I googled their process: EMS fitness, and thought it may be a great addition to what I am already doing at home. They offer a free trial so I thought this was a great opportunity to really check out the process. I LOVED the workout. I have issues with some injuries on various body parts but Nataly was very attentive to ensure that I would not be putting any strain on these areas or any area for that matter. Every session I attend she focuses on what I need and what I would like to accomplish. She seems to know exactly what I need to do in the workout because I feel amazing after every one. If anyone thinks that 25 minutes is not enough to accomplish a fitness goal you NEED to try this. I am thankful for Nataly and her husband opening this business and the beautiful atmosphere you provide. I feel welcome, never judged and fully supported in my workout journey. Fantastic experience: I first encountered an EMS fitness studio before the pandemic, alas in Montreal. I was thrilled when finding that BestSecret was open in Halifax, offering next generation - dry - EMS suits. My experience in this owner-operated business has been excellent from the first time I walked in. The Seidels are fully focused on my safety and well being and I am noticing physical benefits in less than three months, If you like to work out and have limited time, BestSecret offers excellent value for money.

Fantastic experience: I had been a gym goer since my 20's and I am now in my 50's! Have done it all- Cross Fit, TRX, aerobics, weights, cross training etc... I had also been playing squash for a number of years. Then I hurt my back and I was finding it hard to get back into working out and I also had NO TIME... life was just to busy. Ironically I was walking through Park Lane one day and came across BestSecret Fitness. I had seen this in Montreal years before- so I had a sense of how EMS fitness (the suit) worked. I was so excited to see a gym like this had opened it's doors in Halifax! I joined right away and got my partner to join too. I work out twice a week for 25 minutes. Amazing! Love it! Its a fit for my schedule and the personal trainer Nataly and her team have worked with me to make sure the workout takes into account my back issue. I can't imagine this not being a part of my routine. :)

Fantastic experience: I love these workouts, it’s so much fun and only 25 minutes, which passes super quickly. In this short amount of time I’m getting a complete body workout and feel amazing afterwards. I also like the virtual reality option, which gives me an unbelievable cardio workout, with the suit on, so building muscle at the same time. And it goes by so quickly because I’m completely focused on the workout, and I can’t believe I burned all those calories. I’ve only been doing this for five weeks and my whole body is getting really toned, my waist is shrinking, and I’m so happy with how it’s working! Plus having very knowledgeable and motivating trainers, as well the beautifully decorated gym makes it a complete and wonderful experience.

Fantastic experience: I hate working out but THIS IS THE PLACE to be, state of the art technology to get you fit and in shape and a team of trainers that are invested in YOU and your journey. Post partum; lack of core strength and constant trips to chiro, massage therapy and physio to get me through a week of aches and pains, but since consistently attending my sessions at Best Secret Fitness, i feel stronger, i can actually engage my core and chiro, MT & physio are impressed at how well my body has improved - my aches and pains have disappeared and now the only pain i get is the post work out muscle ache which is a great feeling!

Negative experience: Give everyone some background about this business and how they dealt with me. So disappointed! At first, I was introduced to this business through a friend of mine, and I liked the fact they are a family business introducing a new way of working out. We did know each other, and I wanted to support them, especially since I like sports and enjoy working out ( I had my regular members at that time ), so I accepted their invitation for a trial session, and I came for it, and it wasn't too bad. I wasn't sure if it was for me, especially since I mentioned it might not work out with my schedule, but I wanted to try it. They asked me to pay upfront fees while we were setting, and they started taking my information and asked me to sign a waiver and what ended up being a contract with a cancellation policy. I was never told about such a policy, and it was only mentioned to me once I wanted to cancel my membership. I didn't ask any questions and signed. A few days later, I told them I wouldn't be a bit to make it to the training, so lets pause and re- assess in mid-July. I reached back around that time, and I told them. Unfortunately, I couldn't commit to the training and would like to cancel my membership. Once I said that, they turned out to be all about a business transaction, and I have no choice but to pay for the next 3 months, and if not, they will send my contract to a debt collector. My biggest disappointment remains my intentions versus how they dealt with the situation. Why I came to them in the first place and how they treated me. If you have such a policy, why didn't you disclose that to me?? Why I didn't know about it until I wanted to cancel. I have yet to use their gym for a single session, excluding my trial one, and now they want to take over $1500 for something that I didn't and won't use. I wanted to support your business, but now that you only care about money, I will never step in your business again. That matter is now with the Nova Scotia consumer protection Act. And I am they won't let that fly.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member here since January 2023 and I’ve been enjoying the workouts. Being postpartum after a twin pregnancy I needed lots of work on my abs and pelvic muscles especially. Nataly has helped me with regaining strength and the workouts have been tailored so that I maintain my milk supply. I especially like the one to one training, the environment and the facilities. I do feel that Nataly is pushing me and also advising me on how to make healthier every day choices. I have been recommending this to all my friends. Although I’ve only been doing two exercise sessions per week I am already seeing results. I also find the team very accommodating and my babies sometimes come with us during our workouts. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: I love everything about this gym! Nataly, Marlon and Stephan are awesome, each with their own style with many routines. I really feel that they are invested in my fitness journey. After only a few months of bi weekly work outs I lost over 10lbs without dieting and lost 5% body fat but more importantly I gained 5% muscle mass. As a 58 year oud woman I was thrilled to see my waist shrank by 3" in my second body scan. The interiors make you feel very comfortable, far more than you would normally expect from a gym, all the amenities and then some. I highly recommend Best Secret Fitness!

Fantastic experience: A really unique and fun experience. Workouts are both simple and intense at the same time and the staff there are simply fantastic. Fantastic experience: Came for a couple sessions while on an extended visit to the Maritimes and really enjoyed the workout. The space is very nice, the trainers were excellent, and I believe this type of exercise was productive. Also it was unlike anything I've tried before. Would recommend!

Fantastic experience: Best gym experience I’ve ever experienced. Nataly, Marlon, and Stefon have a beautiful facility and treat you like family. Couldn’t recommend any higher. You don’t need a gym bag or anything, in and out in 45 minutes (longer if you stay to have coffee and chat ;))

Fantastic experience: Fantastic people, service, and results. Very satisfied with my experience. Highly recommend the 10 month program. Recommend especially for people who have suffered with chronic pain for many years, and have found that exercise and medication aren't enough. This is offshore technology originating from Germany that has been scientifically proven to cure many ailments including chronic back pain sustained from reoccurring injuries.

Fantastic experience: I went here to redeem my free session offered when we sign up. It was a great place with amazing amenities. The instructor is fun to work with, it's a workout that is advanced and you might want to check out if you want to shed weight faster. The only draw back is they have these body suits which we need to pay for and that's around 250$, apart from the biweekly purchase plan.

But our joining fee does NOT ONLY include the rental fee of your personal suit. Our starter package also includes: Rental fee of your own EMS suit, washing and storage, fresh drinks, coffee, towel service, nutritional counseling, free exchange of the suit to another size, membership pause, membership transfer and exclusive all-around care. The EMS suit is worn directly on the skin. Therefore, for hygienic reasons, we recommend each client to wear their own suit. This is also gratefully accepted. If you convert the rental fee to your workouts, it comes to $2.27 per workout. The EMS suit will be washed and stored by us. I would like to point out again that we work with state of the art high tech equipment. Furthermore, our starter package really includes services and products and not "empty" fees like you might find in other fitness facilities. We also have the possibility for you to train in our modular EMS vest system. With this system we can guarantee hygiene for different users. But from our experience it is not as comfortable to wear as the EMS suit. The start package is paid at the time of joining and is due only once, no matter how long you want to use our services.
Fantastic experience: I would give 6 stars if I could! I felt apprehensive about getting back into fitness after a long hiatus but the team at Best Secret could not have made it a more positive experience! I truly look forward to every session and leave in a better mood than I came! I feel stronger than I have in years. Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique and personalized fitness experience.

Fantastic experience: I was certainly sceptical when I signed up, but the results speak for themselves. This is such a personalized experience, and unlike any other workout I have done. There is care taken with each session to work toward your goals and also consideration for any limitations you might have. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Best Secret to anyone looking for a boutique fitness experience.

Fantastic experience: BestSecret is my favourite location! I’m not a gym person and I don’t have a lot of free time so the program they offer is exactly what I needed. After the 25 minutes of intense workout I feel stronger, more energetic and happier. It’s also ideal for those who want to see results in a short time frame! I’m going to BestSecret after an overwhelming day just because the time spent here is a refresh for my mind and body. The instructors and staff are great people and we always have a lot of fun during the workout. After trying the first free workout when they opened, I asked “how do I sign up?” and I’ve been a member ever since.️♀️
