Negative experience: They do not respond to phone calls or emails concerning membership programs. Perhaps being handicapped they do not with to associate with me.

Negative experience: If you're going to the gym and for some reason looking for a wet and wild experience, you're going to for sure get the first half at Selkirk Anytime Fitness! The roof leaks in the spring and when it's raining, so watch out for the buckets beside the leg extension machine and preacher curl catching that rain/melt water. These tripping hazards add character to this quaint gym. It's been leaking for a couple years, but maybe this year that hole in the roof will seal itself as they're known to do. On the bright side, it doesn't smell like mold yet from any water damage. It could have been a wild experience too, but someone working there must be allergic to lube. I don't know if they have a schedule for servicing their machines, but it doesn't seem to be followed. The assisted dip/chin-up machine seems to be the most neglected as you can feel the resistance on the rail while using it instead of a nice glide. Hopefully they at least service the cardio equipment as they tend to show less problems before they fully break down. Lubricant is cheap; far cheaper than replacement parts and technicians so please start using it. The last issue is more of a safety concern. Inside of the studio area they have a row of very large mirrors as you can see if you look at their posted photos. One of those mirrors is cracked straight through and has been for at least a year now. These mirrors are quite heavy and the cracked one no longer has adhesive contact on the wall along its entire parameter. This neglect needs to be addressed ASAP as that mirror has a far higher chance of falling now. 2/5 stars I really believe is fair as the gym isn't bad, just poorly managed. If you're an Any Time Fitness member, go to their other locations and you will see a night and day difference. Reply to owner: Thank you for telling me what I think, that's always appreciated. To say I had a great experience at the gym would be a lie. I have a membership at a more local gym and would only go to Selkirk ATF with a friend since that's where he worked out, or if I was already in Selkirk due to other duties. I would actually laugh with staff at other ATF locations about the state of your equipment and leaking roof. How can you say you constantly maintain the facility when your roof has been leaking onto club members for years? That doesn't sound like you take pride in it. When I brought up the leaking roof to your manager she asked me if I expected her to go on the roof and fix it. Maybe try calling someone. As far as bringing up concerns... Keep in mind Ashley is in the gym for 40hrs a week. Do I need to tell her the roof leaks? No, I assume she's the one putting down the buckets to catch the water. Do I need to tell her that the assisted dip/chin-up machine has needed lubricant for over a year now? No, if there was a maintenance schedule that's adhered too, there wouldn't be resistance along the rail. Do I need to tell her about the crack in the large mirror? Well, one would assume she steps in the studio once a day and sees it. Do I need to tell her that after taking down a mirror months ago in the washroom that the hardware should also be removed and patched and painted over? Please, that's common sense, it looks awful. Do I need to tell her that the lost and found should be cleaned out regularly and half drunken bottles of sports drink should be thrown in the garbage and not in the lost and found? What are we talking about here? Do I need to tell her that some equipment is broken like the plastic roller in the studio? Yes, you got me there, but do you not check your equipment regularly? If you took pride in your facility like you claim, you would take a proactive approach to maintenance. As of now there doesn't even seem to be a reactive approach. Maybe take a step back and think why I was so rude to her. Was it built up frustration with how she manages the gym?
Hi Marcel, as you know, your experience here was great and no concerns were brought to our attention until recently when you started your membership cancellation process and were told about the 30 days notice policy. You then proceeded to be extremely rude and start calling our staff names and resorting to personal insults instead of simply following your agreement. Our facility is constantly maintained and we take great pride in that.
Fantastic experience: Always a good experience. Nice to have the app so I can see when to go to miss the crowds. Has exactly what I need.

Negative experience: read the cancellation policy.they won’t let you go easily. I will not recommend someone to get AF membership bcz you will have to pay even if you want to cancel it.
Hi Jasdeep! Yes you’re correct it is important to read a cancellation policy for any agreement you enter into. We’re sorry that you have remorse over the membership you agreed to and would love to improve your experience in the future if possible, however all AF clubs have cancellation policies and yes you should read it and understand it.

Hey Jammin! So sorry to hear you’re not having a good experience with our club. We feel like for a small city that our location has plenty of equipment choice but respect your opinion! As for the bathroom cleaning, of course we are open 24/7 and there is a possibility you went in when it wasn’t as clean as it should be and so we apologize if this happened! We do have cleaning extremely regularly though. Again thank you for your feedback and welcome you to come by our office to chat about anything else as well.

Negative experience: There is much better bang for your buck in Selkirk then this place. Its not clean. Staff is very rude. The equipment is old and dirty. If the membership cost half the price then it may be worth it. Don’t waste your money at this place.

Negative experience: Good Luck, trying to get ahold of someone when you call, it is difficult. I called multiple times no answer until I texted. They do not offer drop in either at the location. Which is huge draw back.

None of our clubs have drop-in only options as we ensure we have a great experience for our regular members. Come by when you get a chance and we would love to go over options with you.

Negative experience: This gym clearly has moving policy and is choosing to make make it difficult for me to cancel my membership over a comment I made in passing at an initial consult. Why would I bother to recommend this place to someone else and transfer my membership over? So this can happen to a friend? No thanks. I don't want to freeze my membership either and continue to pay for something (albeit at a lower fee) when I shouldn't have to at all. Not impressed. if I could give zero stars I would.
Hey Erica, we get your frustration at not being able to easily cancel your original agreement you signed. However we must follow the agreement and if early exit clauses are not fulfilled you have been notified about other options such as freezing your account or transferring to another individual. We hope to come a resolution on your situation and welcome you to continue discussions with management to make sure you’re well taken care of.
Negative experience: I had initially requested information back in December. I was out of town at the time but they talked through the options with me and I let them know I'd think it over and I would get in touch if I was still interested. I've gotten multiple calls, texts, and emails every week since then despite having answered and told them multiple times that I'm not interested anymore and their constant harassment ensures that I will absolutely never sign up. I'm now getting calls from multiple locations. Absolutely unacceptable.

Positive experience: Ok, but doesn't offer the same amenities other gyms(ex sauna, punching bags). No place for bicycle parking. Some knobs and weight markers missing from machines. But most things are working order/good. The increasing number of patrons that have decided to blast their music while yell singing is seriously annoying. Headphones/ earbuds are a thing. Edit: The speaker users have stopped. Thank you.

You are correct Anytime Fitness is not a full service gym we are a fitness only gym, we do feel like our pricing is competitive for the product we provide but respect your opinion. There are spots to park your bike nearby come see the staff we can definitely show you. Negative experience: I wanted an estimate when I called once but never got it unless I came in, 37 texts of spam telling me to come in from march to july when clearly I want nothing to do with the place... come on i tried blocking but a new number comes up each time I do. Clearly harassing is not a good plan

Negative experience: Great small gym for Selkirk but they removed a lot of the options for shorter time frames for gym access eg: week, month etc. Forces you to buy 2 weeks at 50$ which is pretty steep if you are transient traffic usually a month at a time...
Hey Martin! We have several options at AF Selkirk. We’ve never had any smaller options than the 2 week vacation pass that I see you purchased. We have options to freeze your account that I understand you turned down. If you’re ever looking for a different sort of deal give us a shout, the 2 week vacation pass is usually meant for people visiting Selkirk for 2 weeks only, not someone in your situation where you might want an occasional month off etc...
Fantastic experience: It meets my needs and there is a tanning bed. I never have trouble getting equipment and I love the televisions on the machines.

Fantastic experience: I found the atmosphere, the staff, and equipment at this gym to be exactly what I was looking for. I was able to come in, go through my workout and enjoy the clean and professional facilities that other gyms lack. I'd recommend anytime fitness to anyone.
