Fantastic experience: Awesome gym in Kelowna! After moving here from Vancouver, I was searching for a new gym with a high-level, competitive atmosphere. This place delivers! The instructors are knowledgeable, and there's a great focus on drilling techniques and live rolls. I feel challenged and supported every time I train. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: The director allowed another child to swear at mine after the child sprained my kids ankle, then kicked mine from the area because he was screaming in pain. I asked politely for him to address the class about polite language and my son was kicked out. All of this could have been avoided if the director had communicated with me. Instead he told me not to come back. Very unprofessional. Very ableist towards autistic students. Do not recommend. It is not the place if your child is autistic. I tried to be reasonable with the owner and find a solution where we talk to the class or we have 1:1 sessions and he was not willing to negotiate. My son left that place with a sprained ankle and a broken heart. I have filed a complaint with inclusion BC where you can view my story.

Fantastic experience: I was in town for work, I just showed up and ask if I could join the class, and without hesitation, coach Sterling gave me a warm welcome. Although he knew I was only there for 1 class, he made sure I got the techniques right and made me feel like a full time member. Exactly the kind of environment you want to progress in your training. Fantastic experience: Dropped in on a Canada Day long weekend Saturday. Full mats, lots of smiles and great JJ. 30 mins or so of positional warm ups, then drilling and then rounds. Was a cool bunch of guys and gals, everyone smiling and having fun. Great facility, clean, open, well ventilated. Great work and thanks Sterling!

Fantastic experience: Sterling is fantastic and really knows what he is talking about and it's not the type of gym that gives you belts after x amount of weeks/dollars. The advance guys of the gym all help out if they notice you are lacking somewhere. It's great to be in a "no ego" BJJ gym.

Fantastic experience: RDC has been my home ever since finding this gem in 2015. Sterling is a top level coach. His humility and skill set really shines, and is reflected by both the senior and junior members who train here. I no longer live in Kelowna but I always make a point of training with the studs at RDC when I’m passing through. Always keeping their fingers on the pulse of the modern competitive BJJ scene, there is always something new to learn and egos never make it onto the mats. Highly recommend this gym to any beginner, intermediate or advanced athletes looking for a home or a change in atmosphere.

If you're new to grappling, Sterlings beginner classes are a great way to get your toes wet and build your grappling foundation and confidence. If you're a hobbiest or a competitor, the all levels classes have something for everyone. Sterling is not only a great teacher he stays on top of the current grappling meta, you're never learning outdated stuff. Sterling has also built a team of high level grapplers to aid him. Fantastic experience: I loved going to this gym in Kelowna and have learnt a lot of great applicable skills. So much support from the coaches and teammates, really helps with the culture of the place. There are competitive hungry learners all around that uplift you to strive for better. They have great programs for beginners and people transitioning from beginner to intermediate/advanced level. The level of Jiu-Jitsu taught here is hard to find anywhere else around since there are many experienced black belts to learn from. And the main coaches are great at making a tailored lesson for every group of people. Love this gym and excited to come back this Fall.

Fantastic experience: If you like to learn, train and do rounds, this is the place for you. The coaches are welcoming, knowledgeable and never dodge a roll. Once I decided to start competing, the coaches made themselves available outside of training, and have also travelled to competitions outside of the Okanagan, with myself and others. These actions make the club feel like a community, or as Dominic Toretto says...a family.

Coach Sterling is the real deal - the guy is a jiu-jitsu wizard, but also one of the friendliest, most down-to-earth coaches you'll ever meet. They are not just accomplished competitors but very knowledgeable instructors as well. Fantastic experience: New level is the only straight no gi gym in town. All the classes are black belt led and it’s a great place to train for beginners and more experienced guys. Sterling only teaches stuff that works in competition and the classes are very structured. I have trained at a bunch of different gyms all over but the way Sterling teaches I am able to pick up a lot easier than other places and he is always teaching stuff that is used at the top level of competition and he breaks it down and makes it easy to understand, showing both the offence and defence.All the instructors are very knowledgeable I have learn a lot of wrestling offence and defence as well as pressure passing from Andre and I am currently levelling up my leg lock game with professor Dan and Sterling. Anytime I have had a question about a technique i get a detailed breakdown. I feel in the last year of training with these guys I have made the most progress since I started my bjj journey I strongly suggest you come give it a try, I am glad I did.

They are very professional minded, safety conscious, no ego battling, and everyone is treated equally and respectfully regardless of your skills and background. The group is fun and welcoming, easy to become part of the family. Sterling (owner/instructer) comes from a very legit lineage and it is fun hearing stories from his training days with big names you'll recognize. Highly technical training with personalized instruction from student to student. This is not a dojo where you are a number on a card, it is a fighting family and I cannot recommend enough!
