Barreworks: Opinions
Negative experience: I won a 6 class package from sing and once I got around to using it the place had closed due to covid and now it's offered online however there's no way to contact anyone. I listed this as permanently closed as I couldn't get in touch with anyone online or by phone. How can barreworks be done online anyway?? The bar is the point and most people have no space in their homes to work out in Toronto. Lol
Fantastic experience: Excellent barre studio - very clean and everyone is friendly ☺️
Fantastic experience: Best Barre workout in the city!
Fantastic experience: My sister, her best friends, and I went to this place for my sister’s bachelorette, and we were surprised at how challenging barre is. It was a very humbling experience, and I hope that we can find a place like this in Edmonton. Thank you so much for the amazing service and experience! We had a lot of fun!
Fantastic experience: Awesome studio! Great staff and instructors! Go Barreworks Queen Street W! Really challenging workout yet you have options and of course listen to your body! Fun too #cornercrew
Fantastic experience: Welcoming and such an inviting studio. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to get fit in fun and inclusive way!
Fantastic experience: Everything about the Queen West studio is fantastic: From the moment you are greeted when you walk in, to the facilities, to the fabulous instructors. I always enjoy my classes, and feel great after!
Fantastic experience: Great classes!! I just completed a certification here. Really great experience. Thank you to the instructor JoJo!
Negative experience: Not only does this studio offer an inferior workout to Barre3, but their late policy is just completely oppressive. I was 2 minutes late because of a big parade blocking queen street and was turned away by a very rude staff member. For comparison, Barre3 lets students come in whatever time they get there, (just asking that they wait to enter the studio at a time that meshes with the class movement/transitions) because they understand that the realities of city living mean things like parades, TTC delays, etc will get in the way, it's not a student's intention to ever be late, things just happen. The excuse is that the late policy "keeps students safe" and avoids any sort of interference with the flow of class, but Barre3 seems to be doing just fine with their lenient late policies. I'm not sure if it's some sort of scheme to take money from their students or to overbook their classes, but it's the worst feeling in the world to make it all the way down to a studio only to be turned away. I won't be coming back to Barreworks again and I would advise anyone else from going there either. Life gets in the way of things and I don't appreciate having my money stolen.
Fantastic experience: I miss Paul, but this place is fantastic!
Fantastic experience: This was a great workout and a very relaxing atmosphere
Negative experience: I'm sure it's a great studio, I wouldn't know however as I was running a bit late and they didn't allow me in. Brutal.
Positive experience: Clean studio, but very strict on needing to enter class before it starts.
Fantastic experience: It has been 5 years since the first class and I love coming here!! I am filled with inspiration and positive energy from the instructors, the ladies at the reception desk and the physical atmosphere of the studio spaces. The variety of exercise classes has made me feel stronger and healthier. THANK YOU!
Fantastic experience: Super clean and beautiful space with excellent instructors and friendly staff! Love it here!
Fantastic experience: Great studio, super clean and well equipped. Towels for use are a nice bonus. All the instructors are wonderful and the different classes offer a wide variety .
Fantastic experience: Barreworks is an amazing facility that will kick you into shape! Every instructor leads with passion, integrity, and care towards their class. I always leave feeling energized and confident to come back and push my limits!
Fantastic experience: Best Barre studio
Fantastic experience: Barreworks is a bright and clean studio. All of the instructors are encouraging and positive. Definitely take a class with Rachel - she is fantastic! The types of classes vary so there is something for everyone.
Fantastic experience: Doesn't matter if you have gone 5x or 50 or 100, always guaranteed you get a killer workout. Motivates me to keep going to feel good, look good. I pay alot of the classes but I have to say it's worth every penny. So good for the mind and body. So much fun attending Rachel's classes. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: I've been going to Barreworks for almost three years, and have tried every other barre studio in the city. Barreworks is by far my favorite. Compared to other studios, the workout at Barreworks is different every time I go - unlike a lot of barre workouts that follow a basic format, I've continued to find Barreworks challenging because it's always different and each instructor brings their own individual flair. The workout is very much based in dance, which means you use the barre a lot, especially as compared to other studios in the city, where sometimes a barre class just feels like an aerobics class with the barre there as an after thought. The instructors are truly exceptional - I really appreciate that they take the time to get to know you, and are committed to helping you work through injuries and limitations. I would highly recommend Barreworks as a pre-natal workout or for someone working through an injury. Every instructor I've had has been incredibly accomodating and knowledgeable. No matter what I am working with I've been offered modifications to ensure I'm still getting a great workout. All in all...I love this place. It's truly my favorite spot for group classes in the city.
Positive experience: Just started going, and I'm really enjoying it! Some instructor are better than others, especially accommodating to injuries and physical limitations. I live nearby so it's an easy walk, but there is a green P around the corner if you have to drive
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love Barreworks! The classes are challenging and you're guaranteed to break a sweat. Also, I can't say enough about the instructors - they are amazing!
Fantastic experience: One of my favourite studios in the city. I've been on Class Pass for almost a year now and I'd have to say Barreworks is my most chosen studio. The studio is clean and beautiful, the instructors and staff always friendly and motivating, and the classes are always a killer workout.
Fantastic experience: Love this studio!!
Fantastic experience: Oh, Barreworks. Words can't express how much I love this place. I've been here, easily 50 times or more, and I absolutely love it here. I discovered it about two years ago when I moved to Toronto and the staff and studio are top-notch. You will definitely get a killer work out here, and everything is so clean and nice. The work out is ballet-infused with an emphasis on pilates, arms and legs! The whole work out with tone your body and if it is your first class, prepare to sweat. The one con is that a yearly membership is very costly, so I can only afford to come here via ClassPass. That being said, if I could afford the membership I definitely would be a member here. There are also showers available and towels!
Fantastic experience: Hands down my favourite gym in Toronto. All the instructors and front desk staff are beyond helpful and friendly. Workouts are challenging but lots of modifications for all levels. Music always complements the workout. Studio is clean and bright.
Negative experience: Although the front desk people are very polite, they have a terribly rigid policy about time. I was rudely turned away by the instructor (Abby), who saw me come in and even spoke to me!! I find it appalling that she wouldn't allow me to join even though she hadn't started class yet!! How unkind! Do yourself a favor and go to Barre3 or Pure Barre, who are way nicer to their clientele .
Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Barreworks for almost two years and it feels like a second home within the city. The staff at the front desk are friendly and welcoming, and the studio space is bright and immaculate. I adore the instructors and exercises — as a non-dancer/non-athlete, I am challenged, I’m encouraged, and I’m supported, too. Everything is an option and there’s no judgment in the air during class if you choose to pause or modify. We’re all at different levels with different bodies. I can’t help but smile during Kathia’s signature cardio sequence and my bum’s sore for days after Joanna’s kickass AAA class. Barreworks has improved both my mental and physical health and I love that I really am leaner, longer, stronger now — and part of this community.
Positive experience: a challenging class, good workout and fun! I encourage more men to step up and take the class. You'll work hard!
Fantastic experience: This is a well maintained and super friendly studio, where classes are challenging enough to work up a good sweat but simple enough to follow if you’re a beginner to Barre. I have done a few classes here with ClassPass and will definitely keep coming back!
Fantastic experience: Amazing workout! And super friendly spacy!
Fantastic experience: Such a beautiful and clean space! The instructors always make you feel comfortable no matter what level you're at, and as a result there's never any pressure to do every move perfectly. You can always expect to break a sweat here and get an amazing workout.
Positive experience: Leaner - longer - stronger. Barreworks motto and speaking deeply to our soul. As Toronto's first ballet-based barre studio 5 years ago, these guys have dominated the barre space and made it affordable, fun and you'll see results. If you haven't tried barre before but always wanted to, this is where you should start.
Positive experience: Lack of parking and paying for street parking adds up, if living closeby and walking it's good place.
Fantastic experience: Great workout, great vibe
Fantastic experience: Did my first class and I loved it. The instructor was really nice and kicked my butt. The facility was super clean and easy to find. Highly recommend.
Positive experience: After walking in to a sign that advertised a first class for $10 or a $40 two week intro deal, I was excited to save some money. Sadly, they didn't honour what was on their sign, I was disappointed and wanted to push harder. $26 for my first class, $16 difference that hurt. I mentioned by law they have to honour this amount but they ignored my recommendation. I went into the class disappointed but left pretty happy and worked. The instructor was great, my body was worked and she made it fun and fast paced. Great music, equipment and studio was clean. I wish they gave the deal they had advertised.
Fantastic experience: A friend dragged my ass to this studio yesterday to the Barre Class, our instructor was Kathia, and let me tell you she was amazing! I may as well be 5000lb whale this instructor made me feel so comfortable even when I was screwing up. Recommend this class and this instructor to everyone! Thanks Barre works humans.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this studio! I tried it with my class pass for my first time and was very impressed with the staff, cleanliness, and more importantly, the barre teacher was incredible, energetic, and encouraging.
Fantastic experience: Very clean, friendly and seriously challenging classes!
Fantastic experience: This barre studio is absolutely fantastic! The staff is very friendly, the teachers are very knowledgeable and the classes are a lot of fun. The studio is in a great location, with a bright and clean space.
