Fantastic experience: I want to leave a review for Snap's Massage Therapist Serena. Serena is the kindest most genuine soul who cares about absolutely everyone. She truly cares. Fantastic experience: A glorious gym. Friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered at a gym. The lady at the reception (Kelsey I believe) was so so helpful and super enthusiastic to guide me — Give that girl a promotion. Very cozy gym, spacious enough to hold all the equipment, cardio machines, and free weight you need. I don’t live here but if I did this would be my go-to gym in sylvan lake for sure.

Fantastic experience: I used to go to this snap fitness location for a couple of years before covid happened. Now getting back into the gym after a long hiatus, the staff are just as friendly and accommodating as I remember, gym is always clean, still have all my favorite equipment. Happy to be back!

Fantastic experience: My fiancée brought me over from Goodlife fitness to this amazing gym. There is everything you need whether it’s cardio, hypertrophy, powerlifting or personal training. The gym is never overcrowded and the members respect your space. All the equipment is new, clean and the atmosphere is amazing. Don’t forget about how wonderful the staff is either.

Negative experience: Went to use the leg curl machine and the pin slipped out from the upper brace pad jolting my legs straight up. Went and told the staff that was working and she said it's been known to do that for awhile yet they have not repaired or replaced the machine which led to my already injured knee getting worse . Will never go back.
Hi Grant, Wanting to clarify about the staff comment about the unit having issues. Yes, the machine had an issue, but the technician has been in 3 times with new parts, and we were told the unit was in working order. We DO NOT knowingly leave equipment in an unsafe manner. We were unaware that the unit had any more issues, until our staff mentioned it had slipped for you. Our sincere apologies Leigh

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Snap Fitness for over a year and I just have to say how wonderful and friendly they are!! The gym is always spotlessly clean and organized! The staff is very friendly and helpful! I am so thankful for all the personnel there but especially Alissia, Melissa, Serena and Ethan!

Negative experience: As many have stated this gym needs to make some huge changes otherwise their gym will end up closing. I’m just waiting for the new gym to open. Big issue is their manager. Definitely not people friendly, the gym reminds me the kids who just never grow up. You can always hear the female workers always talking about clients or drama.

Negative experience: Honestly the worst gym I think I have ever been too, unprofessional and cliquey staff makes for a really uncomfortable time working out there … the gym is a joke very small and never any staff around. I truly can’t wait until anytime fitness opens up I think a lot of people feel the same .. I don’t think anyone I’ve talked to likes the snap in sylvan…

Sometimes we may chat longer with others, simply because they have been coming for long time and we have gotten to know them. Negative experience: The most unprofessionally ran gym I have ever been a part of. Never a worker in sight during normal operating times, smug co workers, and just unpleasant to be inside. I was laughed at for asking a simple question on how to use a machine and do not appreciate that behaviour in a self improvement atmosphere, not a good feeling at all.

Since this concern was from MARCH, I do wish it could have been addressed at that time, as it is hard to rectify/fix something from 8 1/2 months ago. Negative experience: Went to sign up with my partner and couldn't find the employee. Walked around, another member went to look as well. Stood at the front desk for awhile. We went to a gym in Red Deer instead.. Disappointing as we just moved here and would have liked a gym in town.

Negative experience: DON'T WASTE your money here! I repeat what many others have said: the owners take advantage of being one of the only gyms in Sylvan Lake. They are quite expensive and many students cannot afford these rates, there are NO senior rates, old cardio ellipticals (you do the "bear walk"--not reciprocating pedals) old machines with the exception of a few, and the gym is very crowded with machines, some aren't repaired for months and months. We have several family members and friends who have asked about special/senior rates, and were completely told NO. You will be tripping and bumping into other people, (kids are hanging out there alot) and there is no appropriate warm up/stretching area (it is a multi-use space). The owners only care about making a quick buck for themselves. Many of us now take the short drive to Red Deer where the facilities and rates are GREAT (and bonus: MUCH CHEAPER, bigger space, new equipment). Its worth the drive!!!
Good morning. I am sorry to hear that this has been your experience at our facility. There is a lot to unpack here, so I will try and address each point made in your review. First are rates: We have been in Sylvan raising our family(of 8 kids) since 1999 and in business since 2009 and have only raised our rates 3 times in over 13+ years. The current rate structure(month-to-month) is actually lower than the 2 main gyms in Red Deer (Goodlife & Motion). We have worked hard to keep our rates as slow as possible, with the % costs to operate rising higher than any rate increase we ever implemented. Next concern: Senior/Student options: we have ALWAYS provided discount rates for these 2 categories (since opening). They are currently discounted at approx. 17% lower than regular rates. (Goodlife does not offer a senior or student discount & Motion is similar in cost). I am not sure why you did not get this information, as the rate sheet is shared by all staff and available at the front desk for any inquiry. Cardio pieces: The ellipticals you refer to, are specifically designed to be gentler on the joints (bear walk motion you refer to). Our seniors absolutely love these, as they are much gentler on the body. Students: Yes, we have students at our facility. Being LONG members of our community, we strongly believe in encouraging youth to develop a healthy lifestyle and engage in safe activities. WE want to be part of that solution, so they have options. Warm-up space - Yes, we are a smaller facility, but we do have 2 multi-use spaces that can be used for warm-up/stretching. All members are extremely accommodating in this area of the gym. Positive experience: This place is becoming a teenagers hangout. Most don’t wipe their bench off. And they take over a machine or weights and don’t workout. Just chat and do a set here and there. Then they hangout at the front counter with the some of the staff. Disappointed

We pride ourselves on the impeccable cleanliness of our facility. As a reminder to all, we still have the protocol to clean before and after use. As for the teenagers using our facility, it is very important to us that all members of our community feel that the gym is an accessible and safe place for learning to live a healthy lifestyle. We like to think that the gym community recognizes this and takes the opportunity to help educate and support young people as they learn the proper etiquette and tools for a lifelong healthy habits. Fantastic experience: This is a great gym, Good selection of machines, weights, and extras. The staff are friendly and helpful, they also do a great job in keeping the place clean. I've used one of their personal trainers and it was an enjoyable experience and was a great help in getting me back in the gym while creating a well structured workout routine. They have a couple massage therapists on staff, admittedly haven't tried them yet, but have bumped into them and they seem like wicked nice people and will eventually try this service. I'd say monthly membership is priced well as well as any of the training services offered. A big perk is that the people who use this gym are pretty friendly as well which helps make this a good environment no matter what your level is. There are times that are busier than others and it may be a little harder to get or do what you want, but even peak times it's not bad and the 24/7 access is nice for those of us that have weird hours. Without any weird contract terms or lengths if you are on the fence about joining I would say definitely give this place a go.

Negative experience: I have been a member of this gym for a few years and it's a smaller gym but has everything you need. The receptionist and massage therapy side have all been nice and very good to deal with. The gym is normally kept tidy and clean. Overall, I've been very happy with this side of the gym. However, personal trainers have a tendency to use multiple pieces of equipment at the same time. So, in this smaller gym, they will take up the most common machines and use them all at once. Which leaves you switching your workout half way through or having to wait, which can be 20 minutes some times.
Hi Brendan. It was great to chat with you in the gym the other day. You are correct, that the biggest challenge in a gym setting is everyone getting the workout completed that they have planned. Members and trainers plan their workouts and it can be challenging to pivot for either one! We recognize this and are working to solve some of these issues. In fact, in the next couple of weeks, we will have added 500 sq ft of additional functional Training pieces, including 2 new power racks, a deadlift platform, bumper plates, hack squat, and another cable machine. Negative experience: Worst gym ever the women on reception is rude there is no customer Service after you pay for package they do fake commitments and don’t stand on there words.
We are sorry that you feel unhappy with our customer service. After purchasing a prepaid/non-refundable option & accommodating a membership transfer, unfortunately a refund is not optional. Positive experience: Have been going here for a couple of years and it has most of what you want. Perfect gym if your starting out! Being open 24/7 it allows you to schedule your gym time whenever you want which is a huge plus!
