Fantastic experience: I had the opportunity to meet up with the general manager Kevin who several years ago gave me one on one training. I had been to other gyms and had other trainers but with Kevin you get results. His pleasant personality, dedication and experience are exceptional. He is very approachable and is there for anyone who needs help. I look forward to working out at this gym knowing I can get support should I need it.

Fantastic experience: Great gym! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Big gyms can be very intimidating if you're not an expert; this one is welcoming without being overwhelming. As a retiree who travels, the ability to access Anytime Fitness gyms across North America makes the membership cost effective. Gym equipment is new and no waiting if you time your visits with the app. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: This place is an unbelievable joke. The guy on the phone wouldn't give out a membership price and kept saying he couldn't disclose the price on the phone. Not sure if the guy thought he was smart or just a complete idiot. Not sure how you run a buissness like this. Edit: called another anytime fitness and they answered how much their membership fee was in no more than 30 seconds. If you were truly in a rush you wouldn't have continued to play your games and just give the monthly membership price. Would have been so much easier for everyone. You are a gym not a Mercedes dealership. You are selling a gym membership. Pull your head out and be realistic.
Hi Michael, When you called we in the middle signing up an another amazing member. We could not believe how incredibly rude you were on the phone to us. Using vulgar language to us on the phone is extremely unprofessional. As we tried to explain, we have several membership options available. Your approach was kind of like calling up a Mercedes dealership and asking "how much is a car". We love to invite potential members into the club, listen as to what their goals are, explain how we are going to help you reach those goals and also give you a personal tour of the facility. Our goal is ensure we find the best membership option for you so that you can crush your goals. We can tell you this, no other club will give your the nutritional guidance, fitness support or accountability to reach your goals. Our members love that every membership comes with a coach, our AF app with hundreds of work-outs, Included Apple Fitness Plus, 24/7 access and access to over 5000 clubs included in every basic membership. That's real AF. All the best Michael.
Fantastic experience: Clean, new current equipment, knowledgeable/helpful training staff and amenities available to work out and be ready for your day! Hi Kathryn - I forwarded this review to the club manager. We will definitely review the club cleaning schedule and check list. We understand not all people are as respectful as you put their weights back when finished. If you ask our staff what their number pet peeve will be this will be it. The foyer just gets really messy this time of year with all the darn salt and sand, however we will be sure to give it an extra vacuum. Fantastic experience: This gym is a bit tight, but it is well laid out and the equipment is great. If you are into working legs you will definitely appreciate the equipment at the Elmira location. It would be nice to automatically connect to the WiFi, but I wouldn't subtract a star for that

Fantastic experience: Washrooms have always been really clean, for as long as I’ve been here staff has always interacted with members and been kind, not only that but social media is active and community engagement is strong. I love this gym and most likely will purchase a second year.

Positive experience: Great people and decent gym. The pricing is as per a standard anytime fitness location. The gym is a bit small but is usually not crowded so I've never had any problems or long wait times for machines/dumbbells.

What is more important, is that the equipment is working and available to use on YOUR schedule. Alot of gyms oversell their memberships causing huge crowds and having long wait times for equipment. Positive experience: Although I find the membership and training packages a little pricey this is the only gym in town. They do have a variety of equipment which is great and the gym and equipment is always very clean. All of the current staff are super friendly as well.

Our staff work hard to ensure you always have a clean, organized and well maintained to club work out in. In regards to pricing we are actually in the middle. We are not a cheap over-crowded $10 club nor are we by far the most of expensive. Do be aware of cheaper gyms as they have to sell their memberships on volume. That means large crowds, waiting for equipment and most often than not - lots of out of order signs. Being extremely clean and friendly is excellent but it's amazing members like yourself that make our club complete. Thank you again

Negative experience: Not great. Disrespectful staff that rush you through sign-up and then treat you rudely. Things were not explained to me. I am suspicious they provide rewards for positive reviews here. Beware.
Hi - it’s against Google policy to provide a reward for positive reviews. We are sorry you did not understand everything. We had contacted you numerous times to help resolve the issue with no response from you. As a family business our first response is to always try and work with people. Being rude and threatening to our staff will not help things. It’s a gym membership not a mortgage for an apartment building so it’s not really that complicated. We go over everything with all our members step by step to ensure everything is explained in detail and even email it to you for to review. We have hundreds of satisfied members who have no issues. A business that does not follow through with rules and policies will not be in business long. Again we are sorry you did not take the time to understand and and ask questions for the membership you agreed to. Our club is amazingly clean, well equipped and our staff are so friendly. Hey everyone don’t take my word for it. Come see for yourself.
Negative experience: I went in here about a year ago because I wanted to get more information about fees because the website didn't provide that information. The guy I talked to was extremely pushy and rude. I told him that I just wanted some more information and I wasn't signing up right away. I have home gym equipment so it wasn't like I needed to go there but I work nights and I wanted to be able to go after work just to use equipment that I don't have at home. This guy, I can't remember his name but it's probably the same one that reply's to the reviews because he sounds pretty douchy. Anyway, I was totally turned off so I left, unfortunately I gave the guy my phone number and he wouldn't stop texting me. I told him politely that I wasn't interested but he kept texting me and criticizing me for not wanting to join this fantastic gym. So I not so nicely told him that I wasn't interested and to stop texting me. What kind of professional behaves like this. I don't understand how anyone could actually want to join this gym. It's probably only people who don't have a lot of other choices. And yes, this was the Elmira location. And I really don't care what you have to say in response to this review, you just make yourselves look even worse with the way you talk to people and you prove my point.
Hi - you were there a year ago and reviewing us now? Weird! Anyway - that person you are referring to is no longer with the club for those reasons mentioned. We only want top notch staff in our club and we have it. Our members are loving the staff we have. Our goal is to ensure our members reach their fitness goals in a clean, non-intimidating environment with super friendly staff. The first reaction when people always tour the club is “wow is this ever nice”. Well we are certainly apologetic that a year ago you a bad experience. That reminds me - I should review my local pizza joint because 8 months ago they got my order. wrong.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Anytime Fitness since the day it opened. Everyone is always so welcoming and kind. If you have any questions the staff are more then willing to answer and even show you how to properly use a machine if you’re unaware. It’s always very clean and kept up with. On to Coach Adam who is a great Club manager who truly knows his stuff. If he doesn’t know who you are he will introduce himself and break the ice and make you feel like part of the anytime fitness family. Adam your dedication and wonderful personality is always noticed. Coach Emma, is vibrant, fun and very dedicated to her role. I’ve personally trained with Coach Emma and she makes coming to the gym so much easier. A coach guides, encourages and supports and these coaches do just that. For myself, I can say both Adam and Emma want to see everyone succeed and feel healthy inside and out.

Positive experience: I love this gym, the staff are very welcoming and kind, and the gym is always safe and clean but I am not a fan of the giant posters on the windows that block the natural light. It creates a darker more depressing environment. Makes me want to go somewhere else.
Hi Sara - thank you for the review. The window coverings were not an easy decision but we had to listen to our other members as well who wanted privacy with coverings. Your comment about making it darker is fantastic as we can add more lights to make it brighter. On side note we going to go with a perf. covering however in the darker evenings you can see right through the perf. . Thank you Sara for the pro-active comments.
Fantastic experience: I had been looking to get back into the gym for a while and I am glad I chose to go to Anytime Fitness. Everyone is encouraging and friendly. The gym is clean and inviting. I have been doing personal training with Josiah and have been loving it. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Elmira Anytime Fitness has been a welcoming experience since day one. The staff are amazing, they make you feel like a member of their family. The personal trainers have a knowledgeable no pressure approach that lets you meet your own personal goals without feeling less than adequate. It’s been 3 weeks now and I’m “Pumped “ to see where this journey takes me.

Negative experience: Overall a very unprofessional place. The owner/manager are both very pushy and will fib about what is on their contract. Only go into this place if you want a 1 year ironclad gym contract, otherwise avoid like the plague.
Hey Drake, I took the time with you to clearly explain each policy and contract clause, You were informed that it was a 1-year membership and then you requested to cancel you were not eligible. I took the time to help get you started with one of our trainers, I let you make the decision as to which membership you wanted, and took the time to get to know your level of gym experience and goals/needs. I genuinely care for my members and will never force someone into joining our gym. We are sorry you feel you did not have a great experience with us. Perhaps in future, I suggest reading contracts you sign in further detail so misunderstandings to not happen. We wish you the best of luck!
Negative experience: PSA: This gym will scam you! DO NOT sign the agreement with this gym before reading the fine print. The owner rushes the signing up process and if you sign the agreement you CANNOT cancel the membership!! You are LOCKED into the membership for a year and they can extend the agreement. So unless you are comfortable committing for an ENTIRE year in which case you CANNOT cancel for any reason - if you are sick or become injured or if you change your mind and want to cancel - you are locked in! On top of this, the owner DID NOT provide the agreement after signing up. The ONLY way to cancel is if you request to cancel within 10 days of signing the agreement but how would you know that unless you carefully read the agreement and memorize it because the agreement was NOT provided and an electronic version was only sent after complaining. This is NOT a typical gym agreement. I called other gyms and their policy is you can cancel with 30 days notice and NO cancellation FEE! Also, they will send your information to a debt collector! I have posted a photo of the cancellation policy because you really should read it here before even considering entering that place.

Negative experience: Charging someone after they canceled their membership is undeniable ridiculous. That is fraud and a breach of contract. Anytime fitness, more like, just go to planet fitness. Yeah they have lunk alarms and no free weight options, and truly you should stay far away from that place aswell, but atleast they won't steal your money. Thank you Anytime fitness, you won't be seeing my business anytime after this.
Zubair - we pulled you up in our system and your are not a member of the Elmira location Just like 99% fitness clubs in Canada you will need to provide 30 days notice to cancel. If you had provided 30 days notice you would not have had a single extra dime come out of your account. It’s pretty strait forward.
Negative experience: This is a warning to everyone that buys a membership here, the owner is extremely money hungry and has no problem charging you despite the gym being closed. He will probably leave a comment on this review giving an explanation of why he continues to do this to people but at this point its quite clear he doesn't care about his customers.
Connor You are not even a member of the Elmira location. We have turned off the billing every time the club has closed. For a new small business that doesn’t qualify for one nickel of government funding that is pretty damn good. Take your hate someone where else. Thanks

Fantastic experience: I posted a similar review over a year ago now, the same awesomeness still applies… I love every minute of my workouts at AF. The staff are fantastic and the facility is alway super clean. It has all the equipment needed to get the job done and is in a super convenient location.

Fantastic experience: Anytime Fitness Elmira is a beautiful space to exercise. It is clear that the staff take pride in what they do from the cleanliness of the space to the way they interact with all their members. There is a sense of belonging here that I don’t believe is found in most gyms. Last but certainly not least the selection of equipment is great, so because of all this I feel the membership is fairly priced. I feel lucky to have this beautiful gym!!

Negative experience: I was a member ar this gym prior to the pandemic, I called them and asked if they could cancell my membership and they said they would. Well 8 months later i realized they were still charging my account, And when i called and asked for a refund on my account they told me to get lost. They are not in the business for the best needs of the customer, they only want the money and they dont mind ruining relationships to do so. 1/10 service. Would not recommend.
Well, we know you have not been a member here as we were NOT open prior to the pandemic. We officially opened July 27, 2020. No member billing began until mid August of 2020, and we paused anyone whom did not feel comfortable coming to the gym due to Covid or had lost their. If you mistakenly made this review and was meant for a DIFFERENT Anytime Fitness then please remove this. This is Anytime Fitness Elmira, We were not open pre-pandemic and I have no members in my system under Corbin Carlyon.
Fantastic experience: Great layout. Always clean and organized. All employees remember you, and are fun to chat with. So happy this gym is so close to my home!

Negative experience: I am a fitness professional who has been to many different fitness facilities and I have to say this is by far the worst, not only were they still changing everyone with a membership while closed during the pandemic but the employees are incapable of making a compromise. If you dont care about quality service this the place for you, but keep in mind when you sign the contract ur screwed they have your money and there is nothing you can do about it....
Hey there, Well we can certainly tell you have never been a member with us. Nice try on the fake review. #1 - All members had the option of keeping the billing turned on or turning it off. A lot of members chose to keep billing on so that they could keep getting home work-outs and coaching and continue with their fitness journey even when in lock down. For those who wanted billing turned off we full obliged. #2 – We helped and worked with so members during this pandemic, and they love us for it. Anytime Fitnss Elmira is a family-owned business we understand the hardship Covid has brought to some families. We did our best to help where possible. #3 – Our club is truly amazing. It’s great to see the reaction of people when they first see the inside of the club. Whether it is all the funky exposed wood, the full private washrooms, the state-of-art touch screen cardio, the massive functional training area, or even larger free weight area. I will lay money down there are not too many clubs as clean, well equipped, friendly and personable as ours. #4 - If you were actually a fitness professional, you would know that 99.9% of all reputable club (yes even the 10 buck clubs) will have an agreement for memberships and personal training. The difference with us is that we actually personally sit down with each member and fully explain everything and we are fully transparent. Our members love that we provide such a high level of customer service. So Mr. Winterstorm, blow you smoke some where else and perhaps you should review only businesses that you know of personally or have actually been to. Slandering family run businesses for no reason is not cool dude.

Fantastic experience: I have been going since they opened .... I did the small groups with Kathy and really enjoyed them .... Adam is awesome and seems to take pride in the gym and the members. They are a great team. The gym itself is clean and well maintained and has a good selection of equipment. I recommend anytime fitness Elmira to anyone
