Platinum Gym

Positive experience: This gym is okay if you do not want to drive to town for a workout. They could work on some on the maintenance of the place like replacing the spray bottle racks as they have seen better days and the paper towel dispensers. The green carpet desperately needs to go in the core work out area. Membership is a bit high for a local gym but otherwise it has all exercise machines needed to get a good workout in. Staff are friendly enough.

Negative experience: The equipment here is actually pretty good. It would be nice if access to the equipment existed since the pass doesn't work and they appear to be unable to fix it in a prompt manner. So being locked out is not useful. Like many gyms, this one is willing to unethically keep you in your contract as long as possible to keep charging your credit card. Even though they don't really hold their end of the deal.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best local gym out there. Steph keeps up with all the equipment to ensure it is safely used every time. Her staff are out of this world friendly and very easy to approach. It is a very motivating place to go as well as the CLEANEST gym I have ever worked out in. If I could give this gym more than 5 stars, I most definitely would!!!! <3 You wont regret joining platinum, everyone there just becomes family :)

Positive experience: The gym is small with not much room to move between equipment. The equipment is old, but works well. The area is clean and staff is friendly. Price is fair, but no free trial which is not cool.

Fantastic experience: Dropped in for a couple of workouts, as my regular gym was closed due to recent snowstorm. Reasonable day-pass rate, only $10.... Gym is very well-equipped, with several squat-racks and benches. All the equipment there was great. It seems the older equipment is better designed than what you'd find at many gym franchises as they hit the body-parts properly. Gym is well laid out, all machines are excellent. Clientelle are sensible.... I'd like to see this guy open a gym in centre St. Johns, as he'd certainly fill a niche that others have clearly missed.... Good to see a gym-owner who knows how to get it right. Highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: The best gym I ever been to, the staff is always keeping it super clean and they're super friendly. The owner seems really down to earth and always welcoming for people wanting to get in to fitness! Definitely a good place for anyone wanting to start or wanting to switch to a new gym!

Positive experience: It's a budget gym. All the equipment seems to be secondhand and three a discoloration creeping up the walls (possibly due to mold?). I didn't feel like anything here was worth a premium membership. I will give credit where it's due. The staff seemed nice and the tap water is free. You can get a free (5 day) trial and I'd highly suggest that before getting any membership or daypass as your experience may vary.

Fantastic experience: This gym is great because you don't have to sign a contract for a membership but can join for as long as you want. I spend most of my time out of the country and want a gym I can visit only when I'm home, no strings attached.
