Negative experience: This gym smells like cat urine… the neighbouring business is a cat cafe so that’s where the smell is coming from. I mentioned the smell to staff and after two weeks the smell is still very much present. If you have asthma or an allergy this may not be the gym for you Edit: in response to owner… a very kind clerk did inform me that the gym was cleaned… so I went back in and had an allergic reaction (cat allergy and asthma)… photo of swollen eyes… Was informed that as an incentive to stay I should keep paying for a membership I cannot use due to health concerns…
Hello Adeline, our ventilation is not connected to any neighbouring businesses. We've also done a deep cleaning of the gym and had both floors fully carpet cleaned several weeks ago after your initial complaint. We had some water damage from the business above us that had a plumbing issue several months ago and have since fully repaired or replaced everything. If AF Osborne Village still isn't the right place for you we apologize but we have done everything possible to look into all of your concerns.
Fantastic experience: I had the chance to try out Anytime Fitness on Osborne for 5 consecutive days during my business trip to Winnipeg, and my experience was good . The gym is very well-located and exceptionally clean. I typically train early in the morning, but I also tried in the evening, and it was never overcrowded. One thing to note is that there’s a lot of equipment "hidden" in the basement. On my first visit, I thought the gym was limited to what was on the main floor, but the next day I noticed a small sign and discovered the full range of equipment downstairs. It’s really well-equipped and made my visit much more convenient. Clean, efficient, and with everything you need when outside of town I highly recommend this gym

Positive experience: The gym itself is good, well equipped, clean, definitely one of the better anytime fitness locations but I can’t get over the location of the gym. Parking is difficult to find especially at peak hours and I don’t feel safe on the streets as a woman especially early in the morning or late at night :/

Negative experience: If it’s possible to rate this gym a negative 100, I’ll do just that, this gym is a scam, they’re not transparent one bit. The manager and the gym itself are people who put words in your mouth. I only ever went to this gym over 10 times, I called many times to cancel but they just don’t listen, they’re didn’t let me read the terms and conditions. These are example of companies that ruin businesses for others. Join this gym at your own risk.

Negative experience: How can you deal with those who initially do not consider your rights and do not respect you...? Spam attacks, lack of open and transparent terms and conditions, actions more like stealing than partner open relations, lies that show how much the management does not care about their customers..... I wish you a speedy ruin, as this is how low-grade businessmen in decaying industries do business.

Negative experience: Standard issue. Like any other desperate gym, they will not consider cancelling contracts despite legitimate reasoning for request. Signing up for a year commitment at a gym is a big choice. For me it was the worst financial choice I've made in the last couple years. What a waste of money. I urge people to think twice about it. It's a lot of money. I hope the buisness owners are enjoying earning my money and doing nothing for it. I haven't been since the second month and they will keep taking my money until contract over. I've thought it over and have decided a gym as a buisness, that enforces contracts so aggressively, are mostly predatory and exploitative. I'd never want to be In a buisness model like that. They know full well many people end up not using the membership. That's how they stay in buisness. Pathetic imo. EDIT: Despite the gym knowing my genuine dissatisfaction in having to pay off this contract - they did not inform me of the end of my contract and allowed for me to pay for 1 extra month - which if not for having kept track myself - they would have continued withdrawing. No notification that contract is ending. Then when asking about this - they tried telling me they informed me months back that they told me I had to sign a document with 30 days notice to end their withdraws. I have this conversation saved and that did not happen. They lied to make themselves look better.
Hello Eric! We understand that you've been going through hard financial times. We've heard you and listened with empathy. We've offered solutions to your gym membership which we heard no reply from you about such as; freezing your membership (not required in the contract however we wanted to support you) and transferring your membership to a new client. Again, we would like to speak with you and work this out, however we cannot simply cancel the agreement for any problems that arise in clients lives. Again, we do listen with empathy and go through options to help alleviate the stress of the situation but there needs to be client responsibility as well. Resorting to name calling and slandering the business is a sad move on your part, and again we would like to speak with you to resolve the situation.

Negative experience: I got partway through application process but ultimately decided agaisnt. Then the texts and phone calls started. They sent me texts asking if I was still interested in signing up I ended up blocking number after politely declining. Im still receiving phone calls that go straight to voicemail asking me if I still am interested almost 2 months later... that's almost harassment isn't it? Seems like a poor business practice so 1/5 experience don't recommend a business this pushy.

Fantastic experience: I joined this club under new management and it is an amazing gym! The staff are incredibly friendly and will go the extra mile if something comes up. The facility is incredibly clean. Of the two months I have been going here, I have never felt grossed out by the bathroom. The lockers are clean, they just gor new mats which I am excited about, and the gym members are friendly! I have made at least one friend thus far going to this gym. It is also not a super busy gym which is refreshing so it is rare that the machine or equipment you need will be occupied by someone else. I am so happy I signed up for this gym and I enjoy the vibes more than the UofM gym.

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership in June and still being charged into July. The owner does not care at all to run their business. Their voice message system is full and they do not answer their texts. The gym itself is dirty and run down. Several machines have been broken for 1.5+ years and have never been fixed. Terrible management.

Negative experience: The filthiest fitness facility I have ever seen. Dirty, dirty, dirty; dust bunnies on floors and coating ventilation ducts, gum on floors, dirty equipment, lack of clean towels, etc, etc, etc. DISGUSTING WASHROOM/SHOWER FACILITIES with no toilette paper!!! Clients are charged a twice annual $20 "facilities fee" that is clearly a scam (besides being a scam in the first place beyond paying regular dues) as there is never anything cleaned or repaired. The only concern of the owner who is obviously unwilling to do the facility maintenance work is screwing his female teenaged employees who coincidentally are not useful doing the aforementioned work requirements. Easy to envision the franchise as a parental gift to an entitled, spoiled, lazy and otherwise useless son so he could have a job that is termination-proof, total clown-shoes. Staff will never say "hello" unless first prompted.

Negative experience: This place has most of the equipment you could want... Don't forget the basement area. Problem is it's a mess. No one seems to clean at all. There's one guy who does the laundry which is good, but most of the time you will end up using a dirty cloth because there's no clean one. This place is owned and run by clowns

Negative experience: Will not let me cancel my membership. Called April 1st, told cool no problem will be cancelled. Nope. I am STILL being charged and now NO ONE is returning my calls. Update: I had to put a stop payment on my bank account to prevent any more charges. So you know what Anytime does? They send my account to collections! I've now had to contact corporate to get this resolved, and they refuse to reverse the collections file. This location should be closed immediately. Scummy, scummy practices by the owners here.

Negative experience: I signed up for the gym, but ended up canceling my membership within the 10 day window in the contract I signed which entitles me to a refund. I contacted the club multiple times for a refund and they say they will, but they never do and it's over a hundred dollars. So disappointing and unprofessional. Do not go here, terrible customer service. A complete scam.

Negative experience: Charged memberships fees while the city had non essential business closed. They require phone and email to close membership accounts but even then the accounts won't be closed until the owner "has the time". Owner apparently doesn't answer his staffs emails or phone calls. Still waiting (3 weeks now) for confirmation of membership account closed

Fantastic experience: It does take a few days to get your membership (which you signup online), but after that process, I liked the gym. Its not the newest equipment but it's better than the YMCA. The TV's are bad quality as they have a blue colour to them, but at least it's something. They're staffed which is nice. Not a lot of people at this gym which is good if you prefer it with less people. They do have lockers but you need to bring your own locks. They're open on the weekends which is nice because the YMCA isn't open on weekends, making it convenient. You can also literally go any time of the day, although staff isn't there 24 hours.

Negative experience: Do not sign up for this gym. During the summer I went in telling them I’m only paying for a month until GoodLife opens back up. The girl who signed me up assured me that I was in no contract and I didn’t have to give anything beyond my name and payment. Now a few months in a have emails from a collections agency. They’re gym is trash anyways. No open spaces everything is close together. Feels claustrophobic. Old equipment, you’re much better off at GoodLife. Do not sign up here they have fraudulent practices. Most these barely profitable gyms practice this type shady enrolment. You’re much better off at GoodLife

Negative experience: FOB DEPOSIT - Another victim of Anytime Fitness poor customer service In January 2020, I signed up for the 7 day free trial. The trial is free except I had to pay a $50 deposit ($55.99 with tax) for the fob to enter the gym. I decided not to get a membership after the 7 day trial and returned my fob on the last day of the trial. When I returned it, I was advised that I would receive a cheque in the mail for the amount of the fob deposit. A few weeks went by and I never received the cheque so I followed up. The staff insisted that the cheque would be processed soon and mailed to me. Now a couple months had gone by and still no cheque in the mail. I called again to inquire and the staff said to email the owner of the gym. I emailed the owner and never received a reply. Fast forward six months later and I was told that the cheque was never processed and that I should just come in to get a cash refund. When I went in to get the refund I received $50 back and was not refunded the $5.99 tax.

Negative experience: I don’t mind the facility, it’s clean and nice. However - Every company that I’ve dealt with - contract wise. I’ve Been with TELUS, Rogers, Shaw. All of the above have contracts- wether monthly or yearly Nearing the end of the contract they have the decency to email, text or give a phone call to said person to let them know contract is up and ask for a renewal. THIS gym and membership gives you contract And automatically renews it for you without contacting you. So my bank went into over draft. Yes it is stated in written contract- but for the working person - I have 3 jobs. Do you think I have time to look through my contract from a year ago? Do you think I remember that detail a year ago? I signed up thinking I would lose weight and feel better and do better about my over all health but 4 months into doing so, my husband got into medical school and I’ve been working my 3 jobs since. Do I have time to work out, nope. So it would’ve been nice for their staff and team to let a person know that their contract is up or because they are only money grabbing company then that would totally make sense. Fantastic experience: Its a very nice gym, and the equipment and machines are almost always in working order, a large dedicated stretch/yoga area and the bathrooms/change-rooms are decidedly less scuzzy than what you normally expect in gym bathrooms/change-rooms. One thing to note - it's two level (basement and ground floor) - most of the strength training machines are down the stairwell in the back.

Positive experience: For a 24 hour gym located near downtown, it’s pretty decent. I wish they had better cable attachments for excersises like cable curls and tricep pushdown but remaining equipment is pretty good. Most staff quite friendly.

Negative experience: Horrible Service !!! Do NOT come to this gym!!! If you already paid, they will never give you REFUND even it's their mistake! They overcharge me for my partner group training, and promise they will EMT the difference to me. However, it has been one month already, I GOT NOTHING back. And they don't respond to my email anymore. Never been to a gym as terrible as this one! All they care is how much money they could keep in their pocket!

Positive experience: Horrible Customer Service and they will refuse to give you a refund! I signed up for the 14 day trial period because its close to where I live and I wanted a good gym. When I signed up, I was told that I needed to pay for the key fob but the payment will be refunded if i changed my mind. I never used the gym at all because I soon discovered a better gym that was bigger and had more room and a wider range of equipment. I went in and ket them know and I was told that I would receive a cheque in the mil for my fob refund. This was in April and its currently June and I haven't received any cheque. No body ever picks up the phone when you call or return your messages. I got one email response from them saying I was going to get the cheque soon but that was in May and this is June 18. I have never experience such nonchalant customer experience before. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. UPDATE: I have received my refund. It took a while but I am glad to be done with this.

Negative experience: Dont even bother with this place. No one ever answered the phone here for customer service. Cancelled my membership and they continue to take money out of my account. Not just the membership fee but randome amounts also and cant get ahold of anyone to correct this problem. Dont go here.

Positive experience: The battle ropes left me dead on the field , part of an excellent workout on the many machines, free weights and in the stretching/mat room. All I needed for a great aerobic and anaerobic workout.

Fantastic experience: I've been an Anytime Fitness member for a long time, but last Sunday is my first time with Osborne location. Wow, such a nicely equipped - well laid-out brand-new gym! The place is a little small but it has a basement with more equipment. Very, very surprised they can pack 3 squat racks, 3-4 leg press machines right in a center neighborhood gym. People I met there were really decent and friendly, definitely not the intimidating kind. The radio is super bad though, very low quality sound system playing Energy 106 super loud. Even you put am earphone on, you can't get rid of those terrible music, and the ever lasting commercials.

Positive experience: Update: The owner contacted me and apologized for the miscommunication. He cancelled my membership and refunded me for 3 months. Do not go to this gym. When I first signed up with Anytime, I was specifically told that I was not signing into a contract. And you can see my contract attached with no dates. All this gym cares about is how much money they can take from people. Not about you, not about your health.
