Ottawa Megadome

Negative experience: Took my granddaughter on Saturday, we were 20 minutes early for her flag football, I circled the parking lot that entire time, tried to get back onto the road to the left where people seemed to be parking and could get out, so I went out to the right and continued home. She wouldn’t get off near the door and I’m not sure if I would have been able to park and go in to join her. I will notify the city that this is a safety issue, if an emergency vehicle needed access they would not get in there in time!

Fantastic experience: Great field, but they need to figure out the heating settings....way too hot

Positive experience: Nice place to play indoors... didn't like walking around in sock feet. Didn't know inside shoes or socks only, before driving 1.5 hours.

Fantastic experience: Awesome place, great staff. Lots of fun, big areas to play soccer.

Negative experience: Terrible parking and extremely rude staff This morning, I tried to find a spot around 11am. Not only the parking lot but the fire lanes were completely filled. After 25 minutes circling around, I found a quiet place along the construction fence and parked over there. I made sure there was no no-parking sign and nobody was blocked by me. 15 minutes later, some people called my license plate number on PA to move the car. I rushed to the gate to move my car. A staff, mid age chubby man was waiting for me over there. I apologized and walked towards my car. What shocked me was that that guy was so angry and shouting at me. I tried to explain to him why I parked over there because I couldn’t find there is no other place to park after 25 minutes circling. What he told me is he doesn’t care. I was shocked to hear that. If you don’t care about your customer, why are you in service business. Caring about customers is common sense.Then he tried to educate me about his common sense. Finally I figured why he was pissed off. That was because I parked in front of a sign directing to the overflow parking. He felt insulted by that. He turned a blind eye to dozens of cars parked in fire lane and picked on me. Let me tell you what common sense in terms of parking. As long as there is no sign of no-parking, no stopping or not blocking any traffic, you are allowed to park for a certain period of team. City by-law normally allows to park up to 3 hours in the most cases. I don’t know how this guy got his job without common sense and basic occupational quality. At least this guy needs some anger management training before continuing to work. Living in Ottawa for more than 15 years, this guy is the rudest person I have met. BTW, when I walked out of the dome, I saw some other people parked at same spot when I parked. At that point, the staff didn’t care about it any more. What a mess!

Fantastic experience: This place is GREAT! We hosted a birthday party a couple years ago and the kids had a blast. It was really well organized, there is a ton of fun things for the kids to do and the price is reasonable. I definitely recommend the Birthday Parties. We also learned this year that they offer summer camps :) My boys had so much fun. They offer a sports camp and the kids do various sports throughout the week so it keeps it fun and interesting. They also let the kids use the blow ups in the AM and PM and I believe they get to play laser tag as well. Most of all the price is great for all the inclusions. We will definitely be booking again next year. A huge thanks to the camp councilors and Dave the general manager for all your help this summer! Alison

Positive experience: We went for Sluggerz Batting cages. The whole dome looked awesome though. Highly recommend Sluggerz!

Fantastic experience: My daughter has the opportunity to be a part of this camp this summer and so far she is loving it !! She likes the variety of activities that are offered she especially loves the swimming. She says the counselors are great and she is always excited to go. So far it's been a positive experience!

Fantastic experience: My 3 kids attended the Mega Dome’s Multi-Sports Camp and had an amazing time week. Each day the camp was set up with new sports and activities for them to participate in. My kids had a blast! Highly recommended - we will be registering again next summer!

Fantastic experience: My three kids have been doing the multi-sports camps. Staff have been really good with them and the activities keep them pretty busy all day. Will be signing up for more camps in the future.

Negative experience: Horrible camp and even worse general manager. I called the GM with a concern regarding the safety of my kids during the daycamp as it felt unorganized and chaotic, he cursed at me and told me to "eat it"!

Fantastic experience: My daughter absolutely loves this place. Finds it super fun and entertaining. She likes how the games are fun, easy to play and understand. She loves the cliffhanger and all the inflatable structures. She thinks all the counselors are great with kids, very patient and know how to have fun! It's really is a great place to send your kids! Positive experience: Spacious place to play soccer. Only down side is no changing room/s.

Fantastic experience: Great place for a kids birthday. Burn off energy with all the activities, there is an area for food and cake, and best part is kids get out alllll their energy! Bring indoor shoes if you don't want to be in socks.

Negative experience: Great facility! Bad management and small parking lot

Positive experience: The facility itself is great. Don't care for the multiple lines drawn on the field for playing soccer but I understand it may not be its only use case. That aside, the quality of the artificial grass is good. The downside of the facility is that the washrooms are portables outside and not very well maintained to be honest.

Fantastic experience: Huge!

Negative experience: Drove from kingston to do the bounce castle but no where did the website say it was not up .

Positive experience: Huge, impressive space, like being inside a massive European cathedral. Unlike a cathedral, it could use more seating for spectators.

Negative experience: Needs better management.

Negative experience: The parking is terrible. The dome itself is okay.

Positive experience: There are no lights outside the doors so kids are trying to use the phone flash light to not fall. Big safety issue hope they take care of that soon.

Fantastic experience: All season fun. Make sure to turn right afterwards the school. Google maps is not accurate.

Negative experience: Regular dome with terrible service 1. Very small parking lot. The chronic shortage of parking places forces visitors to park in the prohibited place and receive fines for this. 2. There is no proper toilet. Single cab outside. Always dirty and smelly. It's especially fun when it's busy in a winter and you have to wait outside in the cold. 3. There is no place for outerwear. There is no dressing room.

Fantastic experience: Amazing place. It has four mid-size artificial turf soccer fields, ideal for 7-on-7 games. The turf is very decent. The place is always immaculately clean, even the outdoor toilets.

Fantastic experience: Maxxgames was set up there. Birthday party fun day for 2 hrs. it was pretty well set up. staff was at each activity, to help them if needed. Lazer tag was pretty neat. My son loved it. the tug of War score a basket was great, challenging and lasting a good 5 minutes, PLUS it was exhausting for him. But I had a big smile knowing he was gonna sleep early and hard. The cliff hanger was a test of the kids fear. big blow up castle like, but had to climb a decent incline (60-70 degree), then...hang by arms,...and let go and slide..... safely down I might add. Overall it was great and they all had fun Ps. Go Sooners!! ... ex Sooner myself ,..ol skool...urgh. Sorry,.. had a AL Bundy moment

Fantastic experience: Their kids camp is fantastic! I wish they had one for adults because I would join! I just signed my kids up for 2 more weeks because they can't stop talking about it .The facility is very nice and well set up ,the program coordinator is very friendly and has a really good pulse on what the kids want, he told me "it takes a big kid to organize a fun kids camp"....he wasn't wrong ! Well done Mega Dome Team

Positive experience: the facility is very new with good lightings, but the pitch is on the harder side, so it's a bit hard on the knees.

Positive experience: Very nice facility, however, the door area gets way too crowded during the transitions. If that were changed then it'd be 5 star

Fantastic experience: Beautiful facility, the lighting design is great! Most the older domes in the city use tree lights or some other lower hanging lights and often aren't aimed correctly. They can blind you! This dome is not like that. Runs a little hot in the winter but better than cold!

Fantastic experience: Dave has been awesome to deal with, covid complications make everything harder to get done but he's been very helpful, flexible and fair I look forward to working with him more...not too mention the field is huge and in great condition Thanks

Fantastic experience: Very professional staff and fantastic facility. Large enough space to run a full soccer game + football end zones create space for warms up for teams who are waiting.

Fantastic experience: This camp was an absolute dream come true for my kids, but also for me. Dave and his team were super easy to deal with and always really great with the kids. My kids (ages 6 & 7) were not build for the e-learning curriculum that COVID left us with. And I was so happy to find a camp where they could run around and they didn't even think about their ipads! The kids tried other camps when they were with their mom (split custody) but they were always so happy to go back to the Sooners Mega Dome Sports Camp. I really can't wait for them to get back here next summer.

Fantastic experience: The team at Sooners Mega Dome has done a fantastic job with their camp. We signed our son up the first week , he liked it so much that we signed him up for 4 more! "Papa Bear" and his team have met and exceeded our expectations and most of all made our son one of the happiest kids this summer! Keep up the great work and see you next year!!

Positive experience: Large open area. Gets pretty hot in there after an hour, nothing bad, just a little uncomfortable, like tropical heat. But after that pretty good!
