Sand was a little cold but when you're running around sweating you don't notice it in the slightest. The prices are reasonable and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to play soem volleyball outside of school, or club

Positive experience: The only place in London that has indoor beach volleyball, they have proper equipment to play. If you're there at 6:30pm, you're most likely with the raked sand that makes it softer to land, as you get closer to 8pm, it starts to feel flat and hard. Still safe to play, just not as "fluffy". Has a washing area in the corner to clean off sand before going home.

Positive experience: Great place to network, meet new friends and stay active. Place is cliquey but once you penetrate the barriers, you become one of the family. Owners and staff are top notch. Downsides have been a slow reduction in prizes and incentives as the years have drawn on. The budget for prizes gets smaller, but the fees keep rising. Incentives to play multiple leagues has dwindled. Finally eliminated refs for playoffs and no longer offer them for tournaments. All the fat trimming has turned it from a Metro to a No Frills. Not Spike's fault, but tournament prizes also tend to be terrible. Giving a tournament winner a $20 bill does not show much in the way of planning. Would be nice if tournament directors would spend some $$ on prizes for the winners. Food remains decent. Not amazing, but good.

Positive experience: Building has a must moldy smell. Cold for spectators to watch and even heard people complaining about the sand being way too cold. Good size courts and lots of height.

Fantastic experience: Love playing at this place. It's great to play some beach volleyball while sheltered from the blazing sun. Plus there's food and drinks right there. Only complaint is that if there's no wind it gets pretty warm inside, but definitely not worth docking a star.

Positive experience: Always a great time! Recently updated nets. Sand can be hit or miss depending on when you play. Food comes in surprisingly large portions; the large deep fried pickles come with 20!

Fantastic experience: Spike's is an awesome place to play indoor beach volleyball. They have 4 courts with games ranging from 6 to 10pm every week night - but you have to be on a team and on a league. If not, there are some nights you can pay a flat rate and play. The sand is a great workout amd Spike's has a fun atmosphere year round!

Positive experience: Spike's is a great place for volleyball in London - the leagues are very well organized, the bar service is great too, and they're accommodating for all levels of play. The only issue with Spike's is playing in the Winter - the heating is hit or miss, and the sand becomes incredibly hard. Playing at a late game after lots of teams have played isn't fun when it's packed down so much and solid - you don't want to dive in that! Overall, great place to play in town.
