Fantastic experience: Alejandro and staff have been very welcoming and helpful in kickstarting my gym routine at AF Merivale. Alejandro is a great coach, whether personal training, teaching group classes, or checking in. The team has really helped kickstart my gym routine, and make a point to take care of the space and gym members.

Fantastic experience: Great location! Highly recommend. Has all you need to get a good workout in and is not constantly overcrowded 24/7 like other competitors in the area, which allows you to complete your workout smoothly most of the time but naturally depends on the hour you choose to be there. Staff are very professional, including the fitness trainer/trainers. Bathrooms ARE IN FACT Clean & Cleaned (as much as gym bathrooms can humanly possibly be for a 24 hour gym, duh ) so I would disregard any past reviews of bathrooms "always" being dirty as they are not. If you're looking for group classes to go to at a gym, it is included as well if that is your preferred method of working out.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this this Anytime Fitness for a few days now, and I can confidently say it's one of the best gyms I've ever been to! The facility is always spotless and well-maintained, which is a huge plus for me. But what really sets Anytime Fitness apart is the staff. Every single person I've interacted with has been friendly, welcoming, and genuine. The atmosphere at Anytime Fitness is just fantastic. It's a positive, supportive community that motivates me to push myself and celebrate my successes. Fellow gym goers will say hello to you here. If you're looking for a gym that truly cares about its members, look no further than Anytime Fitness. Five stars isn't enough - I'd give it ten stars and a huge thumbs up!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at Anytime Fitness for the last couple of years…there has been significant improvement since new management has been put in place….I now enjoy my regular workouts in this well kept, clean place and love my regular interactions with Alejandro the personal trainer who works there! The other reason I like it there is that I can suspend my membership during my absence from Canada in the winter month…they are very flexible!

Fantastic experience: I recommend this gym to everyone. I joined group classes and personal training with coach Alejandro. I was never being to any gym before but coach Alejandro helped me the gain knowledge about fitness workouts and exercise equipment. I spent 1.5 months with him in which I gained strength and lost 2kg. Before my training I use to feel tired but after taking training sessions I am able to do my work easily. I felt comfortable and respectful during my training . The gym itself is very spacious and clean . I highly suggest anyone to join this gym, specially if you are a woman and you never been to any gym .

Negative experience: This gym is the dirtiest anytime fitness I’ve ever been to. Just got a membership and I’ve been trying out all locations in Ottawa/Gatineau. I was appalled when I saw the bathrooms (and it’s not just one) it’s EVERY ONE. So the first time I went last week, it was just as disgusting as the second time and third time I went which tells me it’s a pattern/normal for this facility (I thought the first and second time was a “one off”) so I gave it a third chance before writing this review. So disgusting and dirty, and each time when I was there the worker Thomas was just sitting in his office with the door shut - I thought I smelled weed when walking by too - not sure, but a weird marijuana like smell. Last time I went he sat in the office the whole time and the only time he got up was to get Wendy’s and then just sat in his office with the door shut eating (I was there for almost 2 hours) he clearly has plenty time to clean. Can you please tell your “managers” to clean bathrooms and make sure the toilet paper is stocked? Two rooms had no toilet paper. Also, the equipment is dirty too, which users can wipe down, but the bathroom? Come on. The gym needs a good clean and regular upkeep. How can the manager just sit there eating Wendy’s when the bathrooms are absolutely FILTHY. I had to squat to pee as every toilet was extremely dirty (yes I checked all of them) they are so dirty that putting toilet paper over the seats to pee would still be questionable. The manager needs to do more, he’s being paid to sit and eat Wendy’s.

Negative experience: Thinking about switching to another gym. It's always hot and muggy in here, No A\C for as long as i can remember. Only 2 sets of pulleys and one is out of order for the last 3 weeks. Showers not clean, no soap...ffs

Positive experience: The gym is clean and well kept, including the bathrooms. It's well equipped. The music is sometimes very/too loud, which can be stressful and also makes it hard to listen to your own stuff, but they are working on a solution to please all. The staff is friendly, approachable and accommodating.

Fantastic experience: The gym has started fitness classes recently and they are great! The instructor Alejandro is very good and tries to give individual attention and cater the workout to all fitness levels. I was suffering a shoulder injury and despite that he gave me alternate exercises for upper body that I could not only do but have also improved my mobility.

Negative experience: This is the filthiest fitness centre I have been in! Washrooms and changing/ showers are disgusting. Staff hide in the office

Negative experience: The location is very spacious and has many options for equipment. Generally the staff do not care. The last time I visited there was no music and cleaning supplies were left wherever despite the staff being absent during staffed hours.

Fantastic experience: Been going to this location for 3 years.

Negative experience: I got a 1 week free pass online but when I got there, they opened 1 year contract for me. I trusted the manager and signed everything without reading so what happened was I got charged twice from my account and when I called the manager was not super helpful they still charged me a cancellation fee and did not return the money that they took out of my account twice. Never going there again all scammers!!!!

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. This gym does not deserve your time and attention. Not only is it dirty but the staff are unprofessional and their GM, Taylor should not have been given this position. Pay the extra bit a month and bring your business elsewhere. I hope the owner of this Anytime Fitness sees this review and gives their staff better training on customer service.

Negative experience: Staff does not answer phone. Rarely available during staffed hours. Gym itself is not bad.

Negative experience: Merivale anytime is a Nice big gym but sooo dirty. The mirrors are filthy each mirror in the gym is cloudy , the bathroom is never cleaned. When you first walk in you see an empty vending machine and dust all around the shelves. I don’t think the floors have ever been cleaned. For such a nice gym it would be nice to see some care put in to it.

Negative experience: If your idea of a gym involves a teleportation to a budget-friendly, third-world fitness haven, congrats, you've arrived at Anytime on Merivale. Think dirt, grime, and a vibe that says, "I dare you to touch anything." Broken machines and worn down equipment? They're practically part of the decor. And that elusive air conditioning you've heard whispers about? It was on a vacation of it's own for most of the summer. Don't even bother talking to management, it's run by a bunch of friends who probably don't want you there anyway.

Positive experience: I liked this location, only part was I didn't like is the water leakage from the showers to the rest of the shower rooms, and the air conditions weren't working well, I hope this will be fixed soon.

Negative experience: Very disappointing gym that obviously needs better management. There's never soap in the dispensers, and the air conditioning has been broken for months. A few months ago, I needed to update some information. I called about ten times over two weeks, and no one ever picked up the phone. Whenever I went into the gym, the office was empty. When I finally found someone in the office, it was a kid who looked about 17 who told me he didn't know how to update the info I wanted. There probably is staff in the gym at most times, but I have no idea who they are, as they're working out.

Negative experience: If I can give them less than 1 star I would. Absolutely the dirtiest gym I’ve been to, no one re racks the weights. Way too many broken machines and no AC. The safety on the squat machine also is broken and should not be allowed to be in use. Shame. Do better.

Positive experience: This isn't my home gym, come here when I'm in the city and pressed for time. there is a surprising number of broken machines. Squat machine is busted(Not free weights), assault bike, and curl bar for the preacher bench. Nobody seems to want to put thier stuff away either. I've spent 10 min cleaning so I can use an area. And the treadmills are all in miles. We're in Canada. Change it to metric.

Negative experience: Staff never cleans!! They just workout during shift. Someone is going to get sick. Even the shoe racks have salt from last winter. Owner never around. Washrooms have stains on walls machines never get cleaned. Truly disgusting. I will be reporting this to the city.

Positive experience: pretty great gym, big but compact and never too crowded. some quirks: they play the entire 21 savage discography on loop 24/7, the tv screens only play netflix anime ads, and the manager looks like bradley martin from wish. 4 stars bc they gotta fix that damn assisted dip/pullup machine.

Fantastic experience: I have been working out at this location since June 2019 and have had a great experience. The gym is spacious, the equipment is well-kept, and the turf installation with prowler is a great little cherry-on-top. I have also had some dealings with Nathan, the manager, who was always courteous and quick to help. I would recommend this gym to anyone!

Negative experience: Too expensive

Negative experience: I have made several attempts since January both through email and leaving voicemails to cancel my membership with this location as my "home club". I still have not received any acknowledgement or follow up to my requests, no one answers the phone or replies to my emails and I am still being charged for a membership I am allowed to cancel. It's nothing personal, otherwise one of the better AF locations in the city to workout, cleanliness is lacking though. I would appreciate a follow up to rectify this situation.

Fantastic experience: Best Anytime location in the city. Easygoing staff and clientel. Everyone welcoming and friendly. A sanctuary of calm in the sea of chaos outside. They respect exemptions and do a great job making members feel at home. I love my gym!

Negative experience: Pathetic Gym. Always an error with their billing. Deducts random money from bank accounts and don't even apologize. Ridiculous. No sanitization and management doesn't seem to care so be careful people.

Go to any other any fitness, this franchise owner doesn't seem to care and the other members don't care about anyone else but them selves. 4 months closure due to covid-19 to return to this gym with seeing the same dust bunnies around corners (clearly they didn't put anytime to cleaning before reopening). Limited cleaning wipes located around the gym and not good placement so I very rarely see any other members cleaning there equipment plus doesn't seem like many members put away there equipment. Never going to return to this gym (going to huntclub/riverside location instead). The lack of effort this location put in to signs and cleaning supplies is sad because someone will get sick with this place not following guidelines set by the government. I have sent serval complaints and not response.

Fantastic experience: I've used quite a few gyms around the Merivale area. This is by far the best fit for me. Much nicer equipment/facility than Fit4Less and Goodlife. Never overly crowded in the evening/morning comparing to Movati. So far after a full year of membership, i'm quite happy!

Negative experience: I dont go to the gym

Fantastic experience: Lots of equipment and space and it's all in great condition. From what I regularly use, it's only missing a trap bar. It does have lots that I've started using since I've only found them here, like rings and virtual spin classes

Negative experience: You can't cancel memberships if you get one for 6 months and end up moving.

Positive experience: Nice gym. Not very crowded. Like thier virtual classes.
