Negative experience: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Fitness Avenue is hands down the most unprofessional, careless, and infuriating company I’ve ever dealt with. I purchased a functional trainer, expecting a high-quality product and service to match its steep price. Instead, it arrived with NO ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS. Absolutely nothing. How is it even possible for a company to ship such a complex product without basic instructions? It’s downright irresponsible and shows zero respect for their customers. I tried emailing [email protected] several times to resolve this, only to receive the same generic, unhelpful, automated reply that looks like it was slapped together by some cheap algorithm. Not a single actual human followed up. Their refusal to respond to emails makes it impossible to even ask for a refund or return. Once they have your money, you’re on your own. Thinking calling might work? Forget it. Their phone line doesn’t even have voicemail—it simply hangs up on you. When I reached out to another location in desperation, they brushed me off and told me to deal with the original store, which, unsurprisingly, refuses to answer their phones. This level of incompetence is unbelievable. After wasting over an hour waiting on their online chat, I was finally connected with an agent. While the person I spoke to was polite and professional, the result was the same: useless. I was told my issue had been forwarded to their “appropriate team,” but no timeline for a resolution was provided. The next day, instead of an actual solution, they sent me a completely unhelpful exploded view diagram and a parts list that doesn’t even match the components in the box! How am I supposed to assemble a machine with incorrect and incomplete information? Looking at their 1.5-star rating on Yelp, it’s obvious I’m not alone in my frustration. This company is notorious for their awful customer service and blatant disregard for their customers. I wish I’d read the reviews before I wasted my money on this scam of a business. Fitness Avenue is a complete disaster. Their customer service is nonexistent, their communication is pathetic, and they offer no real support once they have your money. They’ve made it impossible to get answers, help, or even a refund. I will NEVER purchase from them again, and I’ll make sure everyone I know stays far, far away. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration—do not buy from Fitness Avenue. They are unprofessional, unreliable, and a total scam. This company is an embarrassment, and they don’t deserve your business. Avoid them at all costs!

I purchased a weighted vest for hiking and returned for more weighted plates. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable about the product(s) and gave me some good advice to consider.

Negative experience: Upon the recommendation of a Fitness Avenue customer (whose BFF is a personal trainer in London) I ordered the Amstaff Weighted Vest (8lbs) after trying her’s out on a walk one day. When she told she was in London for the weekend, she advised me to order it online and choose Pickup instead of delivery. I sent Fitness Avenue an email to let them know that I authorized my friend to pick up my order. On Monday, I received a phone call from Cherie, who told me that in order to release the product to my friend, that I would need to email a photo of government ID, as well as one of my credit card, with all but the last four digits redacted. I appreciated Cherie’s call and said that I would send it to her in the next 10 minutes as I was tied up at work but wanted to get the email to her ASAP, as I knew that my friend would be picking it up as soon as she could get to the store, and I did not want her to have to wait or not have the item released to her. After letting my friend know that I had sent the email to Fitness Avenue, she stopped into the store on her way home to Hamilton, only to find the store closed! She called me and I tried calling Cherie back, only to get voicemail, and cut off by the Customer Service message. Later I spoke with her, and she apologized that she was in Toronto and had forgotten that the London store is closed on Mondays! A day or two later, I received an email from Fitness Avenue to rate my interaction with Cherie. I briefly explained the situation and said that I would rate Cherie when the situation resolved itself, as I had not received the product that I ordered. They replied and said that they would contact the London store manager to resolve the problem. I waited a few days and heard NOTHING! Then I received an email to let me know that the product was shipped. I was SO impressed. A few minutes later, I received an email saying that my credit card was refunded. WOW! This company clearly wants to set things right! It appeared that they were shipping the order for free! After a day or two, and the announcement of a Canada Post strike, my husband said that he hoped that my vest was not being shipped through CP. I tried the tracking link, but it was not working. I called the London Store and was referred to the manager. I told him about my order, the request to send my ID and credit card info to Cherie, the tracking notice I received and then the refund on my credit card. Now, this is where the story goes south. He told me that my friend was HARASSING him (she never even spoke to him! The store was closed on the Monday she stopped by there, and their customer service voicemail kept hanging up!) Now remember, she had bought her vest there and recommended I buy one, and the store manager is very aggressive with me on the phone, complaining to me that she was harassing him! She, HIS CUSTOMER! Then he proceeds to tell me that he refunded my credit card and that I can re-order. SERIOUSLY??? No thank you, I told him. I will never purchase ANYTHING from their store! I will purchase a more expensive weighted vest from a local business, or at worst, on Amazon! I was shocked at how he spoke to me! And complained about my friend: his customer. So rude! Unbelievably bad customer service. Needless to say, I do not have anything good to say about Fitness Avenue. I am sure that their products are decent, but their customer service, especially the London store manager was terrible. In conclusion, I bought a weighted vest from Fitness Depot that has removable weights allowing one to wear up to 20 pounds. I LOVE IT! And the customer service there is FANTASTIC! www.fitnessdepot.ca

Negative experience: Very supportive of local business but not this soft of where customer time does not matter. I need to put one star; hopefully, they will improve their service to change my mind. I bought stuff and waited for a whole week, but I am still unsure when it will come. I have to return it as it was not worth waiting that long and keep renting from another source. The reps mentioned it is coming from the Toronto warehouse. Is it a week's drive to bring stuff from Toronto? I am not very happy with the service and am not sure I will be returning to the shop again.

Negative experience: I tried to buy an individual dumbbell but was told “sorry, we only have one left for display - but you can come back Thursday”. I explained that I drove a ways to make the purchase but was told “yeah, sorry….we can order it…it’ll be in Thursday”. The display is more important than a sale? Please understand, I will not be back Thursday but will order from Amazon and likely look at Amazon first, for future purchases…

Fantastic experience: I had an outstanding experience at Fitness Avenue's London location, all thanks to Dillon. He was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the selection of a complete free weight gym setup, including an Olympic bar set, a full dumbbell set ranging from 5lbs to 50lbs, a squat stand, an adjustable bench, and rubber flooring. Dillon's expertise and support were invaluable throughout the entire process, from choosing the right equipment to loading everything into my truck. His exceptional service truly made the experience seamless and enjoyable. A big thank you to Dillon for his outstanding assistance!

Bought 2 pieces of equipment, 1 of the pieces of had a broken piece. Went in today and was given a simple replacement piece that fixed everything with no issues at all. Fantastic experience: I didn’t get this name - BUT from the moment you walk in, the gentleman at the desk greets you - asks nicely - if you need help with anything. I love he just let me walk around before I handed him my list of “wants”. He’s very informative and goes beyond to help you. He helped me load my heavy weights into my car, And when I went back the next day, Again, he greeted us, and assisted right away with my list. This is the only fitness store that didn’t hound us, or pressure us to “upgrade” from my list. When I asked if the quality was good, He gave me honest answers, And when I wanted a certain weight that was no longer available, he informed me of the next best option for my need. Whatever you’re looking for, for any type of fitness equipment, This is your store. Friendly service, Everything you need and want, Spotless store, All around, - great atmosphere!!!
