The YMCA at The David Braley Vaughan Centre

Fantastic experience: An amazing community space with something for everyone! The gym is well-equipped, the pool is clean, and there are plenty of classes and programs for all ages. The staff is welcoming and supportive, making it a great place to stay active and connect with others. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Decided to drive here and try it out today. Pros: new facility, clean Cons: pay parking, poor customer service (employees don't properly greet when customers enter/exit facility), vibe of employees and facility feels cold. Also, no dry sauna in men's regular room. Poor decision on planning and management, since other Y facilities have them. This alone is a reason not to sign up at this Y.

Fantastic experience: Can't say enough great things. The Y team here is great. Monday volleyball is icing on the cake.

Negative experience: Bad experience with the frontdesk. The staff member there was rude, least bothered to answer any follow-up questions, spoke in a condescending tone.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful place with amazing staff in special Alexandra, she is super friendly with members.

Negative experience: The daycare… my son got hurt horribly and they did nothing about this. He was all jumping on the cot and apparently fell on the chair. They told him to stop but he didn’t and they failed to stop him from jumping after seeing the danger.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member for almost a year now but there’s a very small bad around the men’s change room that never goes away!! I complained many many times but obviously problem never solved.

Negative experience: My cancellation experience was very bad. I sent them an e mail by saying that cancel my e mail. The waited my cancellation e-mail 1 week. After issuing bill date pass, they inform me your subscription is cancelled. That is very very funny. I had time and money, I would sue them.

Fantastic experience: Men’s plus change room is great, although there’s no sauna in there. Towels are available and the place is new and well maintained. There’s NO PARKING available, only PAID parking is available.

Negative experience: Poor gym program schedule by the non-professional site manager without any detailed gym users' data by cutting the red-hot program time to fulfill for the other existing or new programs. The consequence is the waste of limited gym resources, long member waiting period for the red-hot program to use the gym, and an empty gym for other programs. Besides, the staff has very negative feedback to the member questioning.

Fantastic experience: I visit the YMCA regularly for gym workouts, swimming sessions, and sports like volleyball, table tennis, and basketball. The facilities are excellent, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I particularly appreciate that they offer swimming lessons, which have been valuable for improving my skills in the pool, for swimming lessons, you have to register and pay separately then membership. They schedules all the indoor games including soccer, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, pickleball, badminton for different days, you can check it on their official website. Fantastic choice for anyone looking to stay active and learn new skills. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: Firstly I am plus member and I paid two times more than any other members. But I couldn’t see any advantages of the plus membership. Today I saw the showers were very dirty. There was a lot of mucus on the walls. I think people sneezed and no one cleaned. Such a this big company should clean the showers every time. jacuzzi was dirty as well. There were lot of cilia in the bathroom sink. No one doing cleaning in this place. I am very regretful to come this YMCA David Braley.

Negative experience: The swim program is very disorganized. Their swim list is still not updated after the 5th week. You have swim "instructors" that don't show up, and are replaced by another swim instructor that don't name check the kids. 5-6th week now and my daughter is still unsure week after week who she's going with. Besides a nice facility and affordable pricing there's no much you're getting. Kids are mostly just in the wrong class and dipping in the pool. It's a beginner's program at best.

Fantastic experience: One of the bests buildings in all Toronto! Great quality to the community service. Excellent structure to receive visitors and community members to enjoy the pool, gym, dancing classes and a lot of other activities. Too many people with an awesome smile ready to help. Very nice price too.

Fantastic experience: This place is clean and modern. The staff is very friendly and polite and the manager is the loveliest person! I use the plus facility. It is always clean and towels are always restocked. The swimming pool can sometimes be a bit crowded, only during peak hours. But it's always clean. Their classes are fun and a good way to socialize with the community.

Positive experience: I go to the swimming pool there since June. During the summer I really enjoyed it. However, on Wednesday this week water in women's showers was not warm, almost cold. The water in swimming pool and in shower was the same temperature. It was really hard to take the shower before and after swimming pool. In addition to this, in women's changing room the A/C was still on. After taking a cold shower you have to walk in cold changing room. I really enjoy this YMCA centre and I hope you can adjust water and air temperature to the weather conditions.

Fantastic experience: I love the new YMCA! I learned how to swim here through their swimming class program. I love my swimming coach Miguel, he is so talented at teaching. He taught us so well. I Findlay learned how to swim after took the class. I tried to learn swimming in the past but failed till I met Miguel as my coach. Thank you Miguel! Thank you YMCA for offering this program. Im soooo happy that I can swim now. Lol. The swimming facility is new and clean. I love it! I’m a member now and go to this location on a weekly basis. Recommended!

Positive experience: The place is very clean. But I was surprised to hear it is closed after 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Many people may have more free time on the weekends. Another issue is parking which is not free.

Positive experience: It’s a beautiful facility with ample amount of spaces. It was well kept and is a pretty new location. Only downside is that there is no free parking. So be prepared to pay for parking.

Negative experience: Don't take any life guarding courses here. They will waste both your time and money. Don’t fall for the cheaper prices!

Fantastic experience: When I went, it was about 6 months old. Overall, probably the nicest Y I’ve ever been to. Really lovely building, great gym (noting the improvements other reviewers mentioned would be helpful) and the pool is fantastic!

Fantastic experience: A fantastic gym place to work out. The staff is extremely pleasant and courteous. People who come here are also very responsible in terms of self-cleaning of machines, etc. Ample weights, machines, and stretching areas. It feels very comfortable and at home. Strongly recommended!!

Negative experience: Not really a gym. It’s like a daycare / rec center for kids that also has an adult gym. Kids aren’t really supervised. I’ve seen kids dangerously using fitness equipment. Also, the gym hours are really nonsensical. Closing a gym at 4 on a weekend is bizarre

Fantastic experience: Just brought the promotion for cad 52 a month family membership... more than happy since my kids can play as long as they want in the shallow temperature controlled swimming pool... life guards are present at all times...nice and clean facility

Positive experience: I wouldn't worry about lack of in-house parking since it's close to the TTC subway now.

Fantastic experience: This gym features a wide dumbbell selection, CrossFit jungle gym, large courts, and pool. Love the huge mirrors in front of the free weights. My only criticism is that there are not that many machines which can be a little frustrating when it gets busy, although it’s not often that busy. The only time I had to wait for equipment was in the evening before close.

Negative experience: There is no way to contact the why unless you do it during business hours. How crazy. I needed information and was going to go over tonight. Does anyone know what customer service is anymore !

Positive experience: They were hyping it up for years and it's not what I expected. The basketball court is nice but sometimes it's used for other activities when it says it's open on the app. The gym is underwhelming and there's lots of empty space that can be used for more equipment. Last but not least the parking is atrocious, there's only street parking and it's enforced by the city. They need a dedicated FREE parking space, membership is already $50+ a month and they expect us to pay for parking too. I got a parking ticket for being a measly 5 mins late to my car and was forced to drop $50, ridiculous.

Positive experience: I go there for the fitness center. It’s too bad that despite them having a large space they have only a few benches for everyone to use and are missing a lot of machines as well. Would love to see them get at least two more benches in the dumbbell area and buy more machines that many other gyms have. Its very cramped already and if more people start going there it will be impossible for anyone to do a workout easily. I’ve added a photo to show you the entire dumbbell area and how many benches are available. Yes there is one at the time of taking this photo. A maximum of 3. Don’t come here, go to a better gym. Update: The gym has added more machines, which is great. Still needs at least two more benches for the dumbbell area and one more machine with the pulleys to be great. Unfortunately the staff here are not great, but that’s an issue at many gyms I guess.

Positive experience: The environment is the best and the pool water is perfect also most of the staff are friendly except some them which are worse also the manager got attitude But i give it the 4 because the equipment for gym is not fulfilled

Negative experience: Not a fan. Too busy to only have 1 of everything. Missing popular equipment other gyms have. They have no staff and barely offer classes. No parking, only paid street parking. When you ask about classes they just say they are working on getting staff for it. But like I'm paying full price now? Should of worked on that before you opened. They barely offer anything at the moment maybe 2 classes a day

Fantastic experience: Superb facilities, especially the fully equipped gym that has everything from power racks, to kettlebells and battle ropes!

Fantastic experience: Nice brand new facility and 150$ family membership gets you pool, kids pool, jacuzzi, steamroom, basketball court and brand new exercise equipment.

Positive experience: The YMCA is just across the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre! So convenient! But having in-house parking could have been an advantage for individuals with disabilities.
