Rod Hamm Memorial Arena: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Great venue with great spectators. Easy parking and no admission charge.
Fantastic experience: Very clean and warm rink to cheer on the hockey teams
Positive experience: It's an average arena, open concession sometimes a bar open upstairs. Usual bench seating, easy to get in and out of, fairly clean but not a lot of bathroom space. Usually parking is alright, but if you get multiple games going it can be really difficult to find a spot.
Fantastic experience: Very nice arena with concession. Nice and big dressing rooms. Large bleachers and warm.
Fantastic experience: Excellent rink, good seating and sight lines. The sound system works great with no echoing, good volume. Parking can be tight with 2 rinks on the same site, but there’s on street parking.
Fantastic experience: Great place for kids to play hockey .
Positive experience: I'd say the pretty descent rink. Harold side pretty frozen and refs are something else.
Fantastic experience: The rink was super tidy in all the areas. Great job staff.
Positive experience: Good seating compared to most places. But views are skewed in the corners on stand side if seated in middle where most are because of big ugly blue garbage cans in the way. Shares the parking lot with Harold Latrace arena so parking can be a challenge. Bonus is that there is also a lot of street parking around the location. There is a concession, but nobody can predict when it's open. The few times we went, it was closed so who knows. Narrow walkways on main floor in arena around dressing rooms. Washrooms are a really good size on the Rod Hamm side. Very spacious so that is unique.
Positive experience: It's an arena, does have decent seating for parents/ fans.
Positive experience: Good clean facilities, just getting a little older, but still one of the best rinks for watching kids play hockey.
Fantastic experience: One of the best rinks in the city for watching a hockey game. There is also a concession and a skate sharpening business which is convenient. The connected Harold Latrace arena is decent as well.
Positive experience: Good setup for players overall, and decent for spectators. The Harold Latrace addition IMHO could have been added on in a more even fashion with better spectator areas, and there's "room for improvement"
Positive experience: Attended hockey game there.
Positive experience: Nice rink
Negative experience: We wait 30 minutes or more waiting for our dressing room to be open and the rooms are very small and dirty when we go on
Positive experience: Great place but no food available. Love hot chocolate during a game, but nothing just 2 cold drink machines.
Positive experience: Great hockey Rink!
Fantastic experience: Very Nice People
Fantastic experience: Good place to watch a hockey game! Go Westleys!
Fantastic experience: Great place
Fantastic experience: It was great hockey chief Thunder stick tournament, deadly first nations teams
Positive experience: Its a good sheet of ice dressing rooms are decent.viewing area is very spacious and is a good rink all the way around.
Fantastic experience: Love the old hockey rinks.
Positive experience: Ice was good , covid safe , masks, social distancing, kids had fun
Negative experience: Old and cold
Positive experience: Not bad.
Positive experience: Nice place
Positive experience: We had no heat tonight.
Fantastic experience: Good ice, warm enough in the stands. Good view of the ice
Fantastic experience: Nice rink. Good spectator seating.
Negative experience: The hamm arena is definitely warmer and more comfortable than lattice really needs an overhaul
Fantastic experience: Clean rink that isnt super cold
Positive experience: Needs some updating and it would be nice if the concession would have been open while we were at the tournament.
Positive experience: Heat was on, good hockey watching experience.
Positive experience: Its a hockey rink my little grandson practices there also have a canteen
Positive experience: Kind of plain.
Fantastic experience: Visit here for grandkids hockey all the time
Positive experience: They need better concession items. A healthier option
Negative experience: The arena needs upgrades, ample parking for two areas. This is good for teams from peewee to AA midget. AAA should be played in a larger area, like the Saskatoon Blades
Negative experience: This is easily the worst rink in Saskatoon. The dressing rooms just feel gross and dirty. The rink is horribly maintained and terribly illuminated. Trust me you don’t wanna pick up that extra ice time here.
Positive experience: Hockey facility
Fantastic experience: Great facility with some cool stuff and home to many future greats
Positive experience: Always a good time
Fantastic experience: Nice arena with two ice services. The seating in the Rodd Hamm Memorial Arena is better than in the second ice surface called Harold Latrace. It's also home to the Western Canada Montreal Canadians Fan Club. There are eight dressing rooms in the facility, a concession, and parking lot. The concession is attached to the Rodd Hamm portion of the facility. There is also a hockey school based in the facility.
Positive experience: Seemed like a friendly atmosphere but sound system needs work other than that i watched Saskatoon royal vs Huskeys junior B and they are faster than the WHL game i last watched which was blades vs prince Albert
Positive experience: Great sports facility. Parking can be tricky.
Positive experience: Good rink
Positive experience: Bathrooms Need To Be Better
Positive experience: Kids were jumping off the gumball machines and no parents were watching them. Was not a very pleasant experience, no regard to private property. The arena is nice with the radiant heaters above the seating area.
Fantastic experience: Home of the Sasktoon Blazers Midget AAA hockey team
Fantastic experience: Great rink, good ice.
Positive experience: Dislike the seating
Negative experience: Brutal, the have practices in the Rodd Hamm areana and games on the latrace side, why not change it around? The Hamm side has grat spectator viewing while latrace area is the worst in the city
Positive experience: Not clear where to go for viewing
Fantastic experience: Great facility.
Positive experience: Great facility so many ppl working in the community to bring you 2 sheets of ice.
Positive experience: Pretty descent for viewing... bathrooms need some updating..
Positive experience: Warm.
Positive experience: Needs an update, especially washrooms.
Fantastic experience: The most beautiful, and cleanest place in Saskatoon
Fantastic experience: Very good rink to watch a game well lit surface.
Positive experience: Cold and noisy... I dont like hockey. Typical rink
Fantastic experience: Nice facility nice people run the concession
Positive experience: Hockey rink. There is a hockey school run out of this building.
Fantastic experience: Great place for hockey but not enough parking
Negative experience: Very cold. Dressing room have no heat and the heaters in the stands shut off.
Negative experience: Recently upgraded boards.
Positive experience: Nice enough rink. Heat in the bleachers was a fair bit hotter than a rink needs to be.
Positive experience: Ease of access, DBL detached rinks, sml concession at main rink as well as a second floor viewing/dining area with a licenced bar. Seating not astounding but is quite serviceable.
Positive experience: Food is good. Dressing rooms are average. Congested when players getting on or off ice
Positive experience: Nice rink
Negative experience: Dump
