Negative experience: Except treadmill that gym has nothing else to offer . Really pour gym . Fitness world is 10 times better than this one .

Positive experience: It's super affordable and has tanning and massage, etc, so that makes it worth the 25$. It tends to be overly crowded in the evenings, making it challenging to finish workouts in a timely fashion. A gym newbie may find Planet Fitness a great affordable way to start, but for a seasoned gym goer, you may find the equipment lacking.

Fantastic experience: This is my favorite gym! There are lots of machines, it’s always clean, and the people here are great. Best of all, the price is really fair. The workout areas are set up perfectly. I usually spend 1-2 hours here, work out, take a shower, and then start my day. My favorite machines are the stair climber and the weights, plus I love the massage area. Sometimes I book a class on the app, and the trainers are really helpful. No matter what time I come, it’s always bright, and the staff is super friendly. Thanks, Planet Fitness, for everything!

Positive experience: I would request that the management consider replacing some of the cardio machines with more weights and resistance training machines as there can be some wait time for these machines during busy times and the cardio equipment is idle. Having continuous mirrors would also be better rather than having breaks between mirrors.

Negative experience: The gym is clean. The machinery is not well utilised. Poor selection of free weights. No bench press . The weight area is popular and way out of proportion. Always waiting. Dumbell selection doesn't go high enough. As a senior citizen I expectat least more than enough to take care of my needs. Fitness world might be better

Negative experience: Went in on our Saturday to cancel our membership. Hayden told us there was a late fee before the account can be closed. We had it on auto pay and never missed a payment and we had been paying for many months after we stopped coming altogether. We had been planning to come by for some time but didn't mind continuing with the payments to help support the gym. Now I wish it was canceled months ago when we actually stopped coming because it just felt like a scam and feeling really disappointed.

Negative experience: Don't be fooled by the "easy cancelation" they advertise. They will fight you tooth and nail about canceling and make up exoberant fees that you have to pay. Hayden was less than professional, confrontational, and there was supposedly nothing he could do, until suddenly there was. His associate Ria had to be asked many times to come and help before she stopped scrolling on her phone to do so. It's entirely unfair to these kids and to clients to leave them in charge of dealing with these sorts of situations. Having no manager or supervisor available isn't good business practice. What should have taken 5 minutes was an almost 30 minute affair. Then despite asking for something in writing to confirm the cancelation, they said they weren't allowed to give us anything saying so. This is my second time attempting to cancel, hopefully this one sticks.

Fantastic experience: Less crowded as compared to Surrey club

Negative experience: Planet Fitness needs to do significantly better (the bear minimum really) with how fitness classes are run. Inadequate staffing has been resulting in frequent fitness class cancellations. Classes are repeatedly cancelled and/or moved around. As someone who relies on a structured plan involving trainer led fitness sessions in a group setting, this pattern has been unreliable and demotivating. It would be much more professional if illnesses are covered by a backup trainer rather than classes getting cancelled altogether for several weeks in a row.

Negative experience: Worst gym ever to be honest, it's way too small and lack of machines just kills your nerve. During rush hours it's almost impossible to workout, I've never left my workout in middle but since I've just this stupid gym in July I've already been forced to leave it at least 6,7 times. JUST A WASTE OF MONEY!

Positive experience: Service is decent but the equipment is never free especially the pec fly machine is busy 24/7 you’re lucky if you get a chance to use it any time of the day or night . Needs more variety or restrictions on people never working out just sitting in one spot browsing their phone and giggling

Negative experience: I joined this gym hoping for a great workout experience, but unfortunately, it hasn't met my expectations. The air quality inside is poor, often smells bad, which makes exercising uncomfortable. The gym is overcrowded because they seem to register members without any limit, leading to waits for equipment. There simply aren't enough machines or weights to accommodate the number of people working out. Overall, it's not a pleasant or effective place to exercise. I would not recommend this gym.

Negative experience: It's a very basic gym and it's really cheap. I rarely go but when I do I always get a tan and a hydro massage every time as my reward. I pay extra to have these features and it would be worth it but the tanning rooms are never cleaned and don't have garbage cans in them so there's always garbage on the floor. Kinda gross so I clean every thing and wear flip flops. If you want a cheap mediocre gym... Then this is your spot. I have repeatedly written reviews including pictures and nothing had been in the year I've had my membership.

Negative experience: Currently it’s April 1st I have been waiting outside the Coquitlam planet fitness since 5:15am the sign on the door says 5am reopen same with the app it is now 5:52 and still no one has come to open, there’s no one to call, and at least 15 other people are just stuck waiting outside early on a Monday morning

Fantastic experience: Convenient gym location. Can get busy in the afternoons. Lots of empty cardio machines at all times, but the weights are busy almost all the time.

Positive experience: I wanted to rate this review lower but felt that would be unfair on the staff who are mostly very good. If you have a question or need help they are all polite and friendly. The gym is large and spacious, as others have mentioned it it slightly lacking in weights. My issue with this location is the other patrons, namely; - People will carry weights, benches off to a random area (such as the treadmill) then just leave them there when done). - Not wiping benches/equipment down after use. I’ve called a few people out on this. It’s disgusting a complete lacking or respect, arrogance and general not giving a F about others. What blows me away is that this seems to be from both men and women of all ages and races, not just one specific subset. I could understand if it was kids. - Large groups of kids hanging around equipment. My only complaint directly within PF’s control is the temperature, recently (past few months) the heating has been turned up and there hot air blasting over the cardio equipment. Why?! If Planet Fitness want to improve this location they need to have a drive to improve etiquette and have staff walking round reminding/enforcing this on people. After all being a better person is better for everyone. I’m just one person but I am looking at other gym options.

Positive experience: Lots of space, friendly atmosphere, and easy to use equipment. I wish the free weight area was a bit bigger, though. And it'd be nice if they got a bench press

Negative experience: Pros: it’s open 24 hours, it’s inexpensive, and if you’re focused predominantly on cardio, then you’re in luck because there’s an abundance of it. Cons: there is too much cardio equipment and is lacking in free weights. There are no power racks (only smith machines), and only light barbells/ez curls. Heaviest kettlebell is 30lbs. There seems to be a lack of education/etiquette with other users not wiping down equipment, “claiming” equipment they’re not really using, etc. people videotaping themselves, and lots of groups of high school kids using it as a social space vs a gym, hanging out in jeans watching one guy work out. Today I was re-racking some plates as I was switching from hip thrusts to squats on one of the smith machines. Before I could swap out different plates and move the bench, this guy was already trying to set it up for himself. Like just… grabbed the plates and started setting it up for himself. Update 04-26-24: apparently the trainers follow the same etiquette as the clientele. Group fitness class started setting up around me in the functional strength area and decided to move over to another section so I wouldn’t be crowded with so many people. Left my phone and water next to the cable station while I went to grab a spray bottle and before I could even get back she had put a “class in progress” sign basically on top of my things and seemed annoyed when I told her I still had to wipe down my equipment. Time to switch to a better gym

Positive experience: Always friendly staff, clean bathrooms and equipment. Good every day gym goer feel, not meathead look at me peeps. Minus the large group of teenagers who stand at machines for long periods of time lol. Lots of equipment. Only downside is I do notice is equipment can be out of order for longer periods of time which can make it tough to get a good workout if it’s busy and the gyms down a bunch of machines.

Negative experience: Rude Receptionist Experience The receptionist here was incredibly rude and impolite. It's clear she dislikes her job and lacks basic communication skills. This place lacks respect for its customers. Think twice before visiting.

Positive experience: It would be a better place if ppl would stop taking video and photos of themselves in the change room at times there is one person with a camera per mirror in the change room. you really have to dodge them like a bullet coming at you

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this gym,staff are always friendly. Vilmesh goes out of his way to help and I've yet to see him without a smile on his face ,making me smile or laugh every time I go .It's very refreshing.

Fantastic experience: This is my favourite gym! I was a member since 2022, when I joined them in Abbotsford. Then, we moved to Port Coquitlam. In my opinion, it is a judgement free zone with a trainer in the spot. In PoCo, they open 24/ 7 at a reasonable price, compared to the other 24/ 7 gyms. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I went to Coquitlam branch today (March 5, 2024) despite my busy schedule as it is the last day of the promotional of $1 enrolment fee. I went around 8pm and spoke to the Chinese lady in the front desk. I explained to her my intentions and see what is the perks of having the black card membership. She allowed us to take a tour without any restrictions. One of the staff named Vimlesh approached us in the black card spa and aggressively asked if we are on the list? I was very surprise with his approach and didn’t say anything. I took a pause and went to the front desk to asked him why did he treat us like that. I told him his smile was sarcastic and fake, instead of apologizing, he even said, he won’t apologize just to feed my ego. He even told me that all customer service smile was fake. He was very entitled till the very end. So instead of enrolling “as per our original intentions of coming” we decided to go home.

Fantastic experience: Planet Fitness Coquitlam is the gym space where I am returning to my sports and health, living a busy life. I found a clean, spacious with modern equipment and a great staff. Special mention to trainer Parva, who makes a difference in that gym. She is knowledgeable and technical and dedicates attention to the members who need improvement. I am pleased with my membership.

Negative experience: So I never have been to a planet fitness before today. And the place sucks right from when you walk in. I go to the lady at the desk and we’re talking member fees and I say to her, well I’d like to pay for a year as my company offers a once yearly wellness reimbursement and she says oh we don’t do that? I said what you won’t accept my money unless it’s monthly? And she says yes pretty much. My guess is people usually see what it cost for a year and get cold feet. So i tell her oh well I’d like to check out your facilities anyways so she signs me in for a day guest pass. It’s my day for legs so I go to look for through equipment. They have one tiny little corner with 5 smith machines and one leg machine along with a row of free weights in a 20x20 space and there is like 20 people there tripping over each other while the rest of the gym is almost empty. I always heard people made fun of this place now I know why. If you’re looking for a place to get on a treadmill it’s probably great. If your into lifting weights go elsewhere

Negative experience: I have been attending this gym since it opened, and since the summer, it feels like an after school club. Packs of 4 kids using the machines, none of them wipe down the equipment, and play fighting in between sets… i have changed my hours, but it seems to always be an issue. I have brought this up to staff multiple times, and they shrug at me, telling me to report if I see it. Shouldn’t the gym staff be enforcing rules and safety? Yes this gym is cheap, but is it really worth it if you’re waiting 20 minutes plus for dirty machines?

Negative experience: I recently had a less-than-pleasant experience with the customer service at Planet Fitness, particularly with the manager, Jeanine. I hold a VIP membership and, upon returning from a 2-month trip, I inquired about freezing my membership. Unfortunately, I was met with resistance and inflexibility. Jeanine insisted that freezing the membership was not an option, and the overall tone of the conversation was unhelpful. I believe a more customer-centric approach could have been taken, especially considering the circumstances. The lack of flexibility and understanding was disappointing, and it made me reconsider my commitment to Planet Fitness. I understand policies are in place, but a more empathetic and accommodating response would have gone a long way. I hope the management considers reevaluating their approach to customer service, as it greatly impacts members' overall satisfaction.

Fantastic experience: New and well run equipment, a bit crowded on gym rush hour (afterwork mon-Fri), clean and accessible

Negative experience: I would give 2 start for now. I have been attending for half a year 3-5 days a week. There is SO many cardio machines that are never used when I am there, yet the smith machines are always full. They should really get more smith space and ditch some tread mills/bikes no one uses. The problem with this gym is staff are not checking throughout the gym in the morning/day so people will be on the phone yapping on speaker phone, not re racking weights/leaving them on the ground or equipment, re racking really heavy bar weights on the top of the height stacks where someone with disabilities couldn't get it down. Today witnessed multiple new January people not put away their weights off of smith or leg press. Which means I know have to lift their really heavy weights off the machine which is not always something I can do if I want to use it. The staff is luke warm at best as you will note with other reviews. The only very nice one is two of the young male employees. The rest barley speak/exist. The gym is usually super clean, and thats all i will see them do here and there is clean, but never going around and checking people are doing the right things/giving reminders. If you want a cheap gym for cardio this is for you. If you really want to lift/do strength training you will probably be happier somewhere else as there are no free bars/plates like a traditional gym. I will change my review to a higher rating if the gym goers start to be managed better and it doesn't affect my day/workout most days.

Fantastic experience: Just switched over to Planet Fitness after being a member at GoodLife for 1 year. This location has really great amenities, all the machines are new and well taken care of. All the machines I need are here and the layout is really good and intuitive where the legs, arms, abs machines all have their own area. There is a TRX area with a jungle gym which is a lot of fun!! Clean and comfy mats to do your stretching. Lots of cardio machines abs lots of machines in general so you don’t have to wait to use anything. To top it off it is so conveniently located and in the same plaza you have superstore and a supplements store so you can get a post workout snack and protein shake. All in all I’m excited to be a member and to keep coming back :)

Fantastic experience: After looking at a few other gyms in the Tri-city area I am so happy I chose Planet Fitness! It is spacious with lots of clean equipment to use. They also have tanning beds, a relaxation pod and more! It is a great location close to my home and where I shop. Between health issues and work it can be difficult to keep that commitment I made to myself to stay active, but the non-judgmental environment and friendly staff make it easy.

Negative experience: This place is an absolute joke. Don't waste your money here if you have any gym experience. If you only want to do cardio have at'er but even the lifting machines they do have are far below par. This toxic business model promotes judging people who are actually making progress while promoting a "judgement free safe space" for snowflakes that they feed junk food to keep them feeling bad about their body image but comfortable stuffing their faces with garbage in public

Fantastic experience: I started going to this gym after a cycling injury, as part of my rehab. It has everything you'd want to find, as a casual gymgoer: friendly staff, clean and spacious environment, lots of options in terms of equipment, and a casual, relaxed clientele. Plus it is open 24h, which makes it very convenient. With the purple membership, among other perks, you can bring a friend, which is also cool.

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym with a fantastic staff. I've been a member for 7 months and have always enjoyed my workouts there. Parva is an exceptional trainer, and I am extremely satisfied with the personalized program she created for me. I am thrilled with the results I have achieved.

Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms I've been to. It's always very clean and tidy. The staff is very nice as well. The only gripe I have is the heaviest dumble being 60 lbs, other than that it's a great gym for both casual gym goer or a gym nut.

Negative experience: I'm thrilled to share my review of this gym! The cleanliness and spaciousness of the facility create a pleasant workout environment. The equipment is of high quality, ensuring an effective and enjoyable exercise session. The slight inconvenience is the evening crowd, which can lead to some wait times for equipment. However, the ample parking spaces make up for it, providing convenience to members. I should also point out that their black membership card is the same that Fit4lees offer but the perks of fit4lees is way more and better specially if you are couples.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to planet fitness for 9 months, now some of the equipment is broken hasn't been repaired and there's long line ups .

Positive experience: The interior is pretty well, but there are virtually no free weights, such as barbells, and those that are available are very light in weight.

Positive experience: Left a little bit disappointed, no free bar to do deadlift or back, all the bars are Smith machines. The maximum dumbbell is 60 lbs. I will say good for cardio, have a lot of cardio machines or if you are a beginner, but definitely not good enough in case you are bodybuilding or bulking.

Fantastic experience: Jeanine and her team provide great customer service. They were experiencing software issues when I was signing up for a membership and they were quick to resolve it and waived the deposit and one month fee for the inconvenience! They always make me feel welcomed and their facility is very clean and well maintained. Their spa section is a treat after a workout. And their membership fees are definitely reasonable.

Fantastic experience: By far the least crowded, cleanest (fine, it's new, but still.) Planet Fitness location, so far. Parking is ample. Location is prime, superstore is right beside it, workout then get groceries! The management of this location seems to be on point. I really like the whole "black card spa" thing. It's separated, with doors, so you can really just relax. The hydromasage beds are all private. They have a lot of cardio machines so you'll never have trouble getting one. The HIIT floor has almost everything you need, ropes, TRX, etc. It's a big place and the layout is very mindful. And of course for the price it's the best deal. I would recommend this location.

Fantastic experience: I love everything about this gym, staff is friendly, and always there to help out, I didn’t had any problems and I’ve been member since January.(people need to understand that when is busy, staff won’t obviously have time to chitchat with you and entertain you as when it’s not busy) . Machines are clean most of the time , which is nice to see . I can’t say the same for tanning beds and total body enhancement machines ins black spa, almost every time I see messy tanning machines, but I always clean it before and after I use it anyway,it’s just bad some people don’t. Overall, I love the place , I love that is purple and new ❤️
