Fantastic experience: I've gone in and walked around when I went for a Christmas festival sale and they have quite a bit there it is very nice big pool it's nice in there clean I didn't get to see everything but the atmosphere was really nice

Negative experience: So much for customer service... Was charged 15.00 service fee because bank canceled my visa card... All they do is cancel ur card now if fraud is expected.. This leaves customers with no choice... Even though i payed bill 3 days later was charged this fee and since i did everything online how can they justify this fee? Another greedy money grab... They are becoming just like banks with unreasonable fees... If this was about me and not my son would definitely cancel my membership..

Fantastic experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can't say enough about the YMCA in Wasaga Beach! From the moment we walked in, the professionalism and ease of setting up our first-time memberships were top-notch. A huge shout-out to Max for his outstanding work teaching our son how to swim for the very first time – the experience was absolutely amazing! Our family is thrilled with the exceptional service and can't wait to spend more time here. Thank you, YMCA Wasaga Beach, for such a fantastic start!

To the two C-words working the desk today: Learn your product thoroughly in order to explain your in-house changes to new and returning members. Don’t patronize your guests, and please, don’t yell out people’s personal information for the whole lobby to hear. Great place, completely lamentable staff

Positive experience: Went for my first Aquafit class today. Facility a little dated but place is clean. Customer Service very good. Locker available. Bring your own lock. Showers work. Instructor was good. Full body workout with part of exercises using foam hand barbells. Music from Elvis to Aretha Franklin.Full pool with 90% women and 10% men. Friendly Was fun and I burned 250 calories. If you work hard you can reap the benefits. City of Wasaga Beach.

Positive experience: Was very impressed by this facility. Clean and modern. The fitness equipment looked like it was all in very good working order. Spacious gym, pool area, hot tub, and kiddie pool. Now that I've had the tour, looking forward to my first gym day there.

Positive experience: Great location. Only thing I could say is the change rooms are freezing as if there’s basically no heat.

Negative experience: The gym is nice enough but it's way too small considering the growing population of Wasaga Beach. Every single time I've taken my kids for family swim we've been asked to get out of the pool after 15 minutes because there is a lineup of people waiting to get in and the pool is overcrowded. The weight room is also very small and quickly gets crowded. Hopefully they have plans to build onto their current facilities in the near future. Their prices are also high compared to other gyms.

Fantastic experience: What a great place . We came here with the family for an open swim. Super clean and a great layout from other YMCAs I've been in. Lots of lifeguards on site as well. Fun place for a winter day when you are short of ideas. Check out the schedule online.

Fantastic experience: Who doesn't appreciate a YMCA. This location is kept very clean. Staff is great. Instructors are well chosen. There is no need to feel inadequate or self-conscious.

Positive experience: The facility is great. The staff NEVER answer the phone in the evening. I honestly think they ignore the phone or turn off the ringer. I have tried calling many times (after 6) and the voicemail always seems to come on. They also start kicking everyone out at 8:45. The hours say they are open until 9 pm but they send my 12 year old son out in the cold at 8:45. If you say you are open until 9 then they should be allowed to stay in the gym until then, and not be sent outside before 9. Perhaps its only when certain people are working, I'm not sure, my son is very respectable and not the kind of kid who would be fooling around. I just would like management see this and understands that teenagers are your future users.

Positive experience: Honestly, great staff and super friendly neighborly people from the community :) No complaints there. However, as a member and paying member dues and having the leisure pool conk out every so often is quite frustrating!! I literally use the pool only and paying full membership. Something needs to be done, like maybe management should have parts on hand? A strong suggestion on my part lol I am sure they will eventually figure it out, but until then... paying fees and not being able to let the little ones enjoy warm temps in the leisure pool is beyond annoying at this point, so I am leaving a review.

Negative experience: Horrible Customer Services - Laughs at the Customer when I am frustrated. Signed up for a family membership in hopes of getting all 3 of my children in for swimming. Excited I purchased my membership which was a great and easy process and asked the woman who signed me up and she said yes you can sign up at home online and add your items you want. Excited I went home that night and signed my kids up for swimming and I added them all to my cart. My husband showed up tonight as I thought my children were signed up for swimming , one tonight and two for Saturday. He was told I never signed them up. I called to speak to the front desk and she confirmed with me that there are no room for my children to swim even though I apparently bought the membership from her. Is this a cash grab? To get people to sign up and then have no room for their kids in lessons or pretend to sign them up and then not have them get in? I asked to speak to her supervisor and she told me she was in a meeting even though I heard her speaking about the situation to a co-worker in the back ground and then she hung up on me. I know when people are not happy it and yea it can and be frustrating in customer service but she didn’t have to hang up on me. I called back and she said to me me “and she kind of laughed when she said it, oh I’m sorry but did your call not go through ?”. Oh coarse this angered me, how unprofessional is this conduct? Never in 20 years in working in health and fitness for GoodLife Fitness and now human resources for the Federal Government have I had someone laugh about my situation or would anyone about their member’s confusion. She then gave me an email for her manager and she explained to me that she was the one who sold me the membership and that she would have never told me how to sign up online??? I am left feeling ripped off, embarrass and belittled. And it gets better. UPDATE! My husband calls and let’s me know that they had an entire Wed that apparently wasn’t made available for people to sign up as he finds out from someone in aquatics. Then he let’s let’s me know that all 3 kids can go on Wednesdays no problem. I question him after this whole fiasco and he says yes I am sure they are all allowed to go on Wednesdays. This was explained to me. No issues. I login to check and NOPE two kids signed up and my little guy left out on Wednesdays after my husband was told there was room for all of them. Why does the YMCA pick and choose spots and open up some and not others? They obvious have the ability to pick and choose who they want where. I thought the YMCA stood for equality and was for in support of families and children. They don’t communicate well and now my husband is left feeling lied to and not understood.

Negative experience: Pretty sad a family of one adult and 2 kids has to pay 57.50 biweekly just to go swimming. Since they don’t do family memberships anymore.

Positive experience: I just visited the place to attend a function and haven't used any services. So the hall where the function was arranged was nice and clean. Parking space is big and you have ample spots to park your car. Washrooms are clean and tidy. However I am not giving the 5star bcoz I haven't used any services and don't know how the other services are provided.

Positive experience: We just went for Covid-19 shots.

Negative experience: Way too crowded and too many children using the machines. Used to love this gym but it’s overrun by chaos. Hopefully something better opens in the beach soon!

Negative experience: I've been to this specific gym a dozen times, but I regularly go out of my way to attend the Collingwood establishment. In at least 6 of my visits, the short personal trainer with white spiked hair has caused conflict with a member. Maybe instead unleashing on members for taking the courage to train hard, to failure, and ultimately, making noise or prolonging a session, this "personal trainer" should educate themselves on basic principles of biomechanics and hypertrophy. In doing so, she may become rather impressed by these individuals, or, at the bear minimum, stop acting like power trips fuel her day. It may be a stretch, but they may also stop stealing clients money by teaching them to practice water aerobics on land instead of basic wait loss or muscle gain practices. The rest of the staff are lovely and the equipment isn't bad if you know how to optimize it:)

Negative experience: They prech as a gym that caters to everyones financial situation, accept the fees for YMCA in Wasaga is higher then every other gym in the Industry. The gym is run down and YMCA Wasaga expects you to pay $1000 a year and charges existing users a $75 activation fee when your membership expires. Other YMCA gyms are significantly cheaper. Concuslion YMCA Wasaga is taking advantage of the good people in Wasaga based on the shortages of gyms. It's time to stop supporting them.

Negative experience: I can say they are thiefs ! Me and my wife paying a membership especially for swimming ,but in 2 weeks we could not attend the pool , cold water and other undisclosed reasons. I asked the receptionist to call the supervisor, she is lying all the time: supervisor is not here and cannot be contacted. I asked for a refund as long as they cannot offer services listed in their programs. Shame on you YMCA Wasaga Beach ! How can I call you , when you charge me and not offering services ?

Negative experience: I was incredibly disappointed upon dropping in to ask a few questions. The ladies weren't engaging in conversation and just directed me to do what l needed online. If l wanted online l would have done so, Instead thought I'd check out the facility and possibly sign up. I won't be back.

Negative experience: As a frequent visitor of Wasaga, I was looking forward to visiting the facilities as a guest. I was disappointed by the fee of $12 a few weeks ago for a day pass only to find it's been increased to a whopping $15 as of even more recently. This is outrageously expensive and basically prohibits anyone who's not visiting for under a month from accessing the facility. This makes sense as I've noticed there's a general open hostility towards visitors to the community.

Fantastic experience: Rachel, the Deck Supervisor is amazing! We've signed up our three kids for swimming lessons, and at the first lesson we realized the kids would need to be in different level classes. Rachel was great, she pulled my oldest aside and tested her swimming skill. She solved the problem by assigning our kids in the appropriate classes. Rachel is very professional, friendly, and a very skilled swimmer and instructor. Thank you Rachel for your awesome hard work at the pool! Much appreciated!

Positive experience: Been a member for a long time. 99% of the staff great. One younger member not so great. Likes to talk down to you thinks you’re not entitled to an opinion. For a supervisor sure could use some lessons on talking to people and stop being so smug. You’re young now but someday you too will be a senior and I hope people aren’t as rude to you as you are with us.

Fantastic experience: Was so easy to get a day pass, I ended up having a great workout in their gym. Lots of great equipment

Positive experience: The don’t have a steam room! Their website claims they do, and I use steam rooms for medical purposes. I bought the premium pass and asked if they have a steam room “yes in the premium change room” I was told. Which was a lie. They have a tiny dry SAUNA. Not a steam room. Felt a little ripped off by this. Otherwise the facilities are very nice and clean.

Positive experience: Is okay. The swimming pool is not that big and in public hours they make the swimming lan smaller. So, you can't swim properly.

Fantastic experience: Just joined the YMCA in Wasaga! Chris takes great pride in his facility and was a wonderful ambassador. He gave us a guided tour and graciously answered all our questions. I have found the entire staff to be very friendly and supportive.

Negative experience: I will never go to this gym again as long as I live. The staff is a bunch of tyrannical psyhcopaths, selling out our freedoms to the corrupt political establishment. They harassed me while I was working out. What a disgrace to the town and everything the YMC stands for. I hope they go bankrupt soon. I'll be cancelling my membership immediately.

Positive experience: I use to come here as a kid and always had a great time. Its a very good sized ymca and has lots of different gym equipment, sports equipment, pool items and recreational services.Great for workout beginners and experts. Its very family oriented and employees are always welcoming.

Fantastic experience: I love my YMCA, the lifeguards are so good to me. Erin is a great instructor ,the on thing that wasn't great was there was this not very nice couple, that have to complain about everything. It does stress me out a little bit. I wish they could keep there complaint to themselves. But I love Auqa fit, and Aqua therapy it is helping me so much. I am so thankful.

Positive experience: Great place for all those extra curricular activities, for all ages! Friendly and helpful staff. Changerooms and washrooms available. The Rec Plex offers lots of excellent swimming and exercise classes, for all ages. Trails, Playground and bike park are close, for outdoor play.

Positive experience: Really appreciate the fact that they sell day passes, and a family day pass. We often are in Wasaga at our cottage and still enjoy staying active and using the gym. There is enough variety of equipment and weights to get a good workout in. Everything is clean and the staff are very friendly.

Fantastic experience: August 3rd was a re-opening day for members. I am a long term member. Everything was organized, clean and not many people in the equipment area. Aquafit class was full. I look forward to a fall & winter of fitness after this long COVID 19 time.

Positive experience: Tired to call for a vaccine and no call back

Fantastic experience: Got my 1st Covid 19 vaccine today at the Rec Plex. I was so impressed how well organized everything was. Got there a few minutes before my scheduled appt. Drive through a tent that has been erected for the staff for inclement weather. Got my shot through the window. Then parked outside for 15 mins to monitor for any adverse symptoms. Was instructed to honk horn if anything untoward was experienced. Lovely staff came around to check on everyone. In and out in 20 mins. Giant kudos to all. Wonderful to see how smooth everything went. Thank you so very much.

Positive experience: This review is based only on the gym, as I haven't used the other facilities (gymnasium, swimming pool etc.) The gym is pretty good as far as commercial gyms go. Plenty of 45 lb plates, and dumbbells up to 100 lbs. Plenty of accessory machines and 2 seperate cable setups. There are also 2 bench press setups, making sharing a bench much easier. Only one squat rack, which can be problematic, especially when it is busy. The gym is kept well lit, clean, and heated nicely. Overall, I recommend it for anyone in the area wanting to get in a good workout.

Negative experience: I'm very upset of the roll of just this YMCA which I have seen here , I have never been on this situation that when children have classes , they close hottub for a long period of time every single day, I'm member of all YMCA and I go every city but wassaga beach is the only location that when children has class, hottub is closed , it doesn't make sense, people spend time and come from the far that use of gym and do workout and for sure after workout they need hottub, I think this is not respectful for other members that need the hot tub for rehabilitation purposes

Negative experience: There’s a reason why this facility hasn’t won best customer service reps in the past 5 years. 4 of us signed up for a complimentary day pass that is offered on the YMCA website. My boyfriend and I were told that the free passes online were only available for residents of Wasaga Beach, while my brother and his girlfriend were allowed to go into the facility free of charge. We live in Wasaga Beach for half of the year, so they lost out on potential clients. The inconsistency with the prices between the group as well as the attitude that we received while we paid is the reason for this one star. We will not be back.
