Negative experience: This gym is good. But they need to take care of cleanliness. The management seems not to bother about any if these things. The machines are sticky. The bathrooms are unclean.

Fantastic experience: I have been to other gyms before, but shape fitness has everything that I have looked for, clean area kind workers and also additional classes as Zumba and spinning that aren’t charged, everything is included to the same affordable weekly price. Excellent gym

Positive experience: It's got the beginnings of a great gym, but they cheaped out on machines, so many either don't work well (eg, the leg presses and pendulum squat) or aren't actually effective (the "preacher curl" machine is useless, as are the triceps machines and the seated leg curl) and are often out of service because they broke. They need to buy actual, new machines instead of a bunch of second-hand ones from the 1980s. There are also never enough weight plates, and the staff seems to be missing entirely, rather than coming up and tidying the weight floor.

Fantastic experience: Shape is a great gym and an accommodating environment, for those who like to workout early in the morning like me. I’ve been going here ever since they’ve opened. They have a variety of classes and amenities like a sauna, cycling room and boxing room. Also, all staff are friendly and informative.

Positive experience: Very big gym, upstairs loaded with various machines, free weights, mirrors everywhere. Separate kick boxing room. Only one water fountain (not so cold), could use another. Holiday, it was busy but not crowded. The place is big enough, lots of space to recover, rest before next set. Rubber floors (quiet) underneath. Some odd elevation changes, definite trip hazard. Window view of humble St Clair Ave, not much beauty there. The gym is very business-like, folks are very serious here. Nothing fancy. One (useless) TV with usual 24hr TV news disasters (audio at each cardio machine). 10 or so cardio machines, motion is very smooth, level, firm, tracks not slippy; well done. All machines are old but well maintained, nothing here seems broken. Plenty (almost overwhelming) of variety in machines means you won't get bored. Only complaint is it's a bit shabby. Everything is old, dented, stained, broken. Many mirrors cracked. Showers are pretty good but only 2 of them. Floors in locker/shower are mop-clean, no problems. Sauna not working. Lockers though are rusted, dented, old. Definitely need replaced. Men's room has zero decoration, nothing on the wall, very drab, almost depressing. Un-necessary, easily improved. Price is ok at 70CAD per month. Internet gratis, but not working. Friendly girl at entrance. Highly recommended gym, for serious folks, ignore the worn-out patina. Everything important, the machines, is in good shape. Everything else is, well, not.

Positive experience: Excellent gym and great price. They’re a belt squat machine and chest supported row machine away from getting 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: Seeing the amazing results from the personal trainers, I decided to start personal training with Manuel, and it’s been incredible. Manuel is not only great at his job but also incredibly passionate about at what he does. Training with Manuel has been so motivating that it makes me excited to come to the gym. Every session with him is a new learning experience. I highly recommend Manuel – he's made my gym experience amazing! I've been a member of this gym for 2 years, and it's honestly the best you can get for the price. The machines are top-notch, and classes like yoga, spinning, Zumba, and glutes sessions are all included. The staff here are super friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about this gym! The staff is incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist. They have a fantastic selection of machines and dumbbells, making it easy to switch up my workouts. The spinning, yoga, and Zumba classes are a blast and really add variety to my routine. Plus, the facilities are top-notch, with lots of lockers, a rejuvenating brand new sauna and showers. And the best part? It's all offered at a very affordable price. This gym truly has everything I need to stay motivated and fit!

Fantastic experience: Super convenient location with great exercise machines! Manuel is also a really great personal trainer whose lessons were a big help for me and my partner who were beginners!

Positive experience: Most of the gym floor is uneven, hard to find a flat even spot to train on. Equipment is inefficiently organized. Both leg press have worn out bearings and are unusable and have been this way for a long time. Besides the cardio equipment most of the equipment is subpar and gym members have a poor culture of putting weights back in an organized fashion. New sauna is OK, doesn't get hot enough and isn't insulated to retain heat as you can have a conversation between the walls with the women's sauna. Management doesn't have much passion for running a quality gym it seems.

Negative experience: Preface: I usually don’t like dishing out low ratings to businesses unless something is exceptionally wrong with it. This time it’s to bring something to the owner’s notice. A week ago my wife and I went to check out the gym because we were contemplating moving from Hone Fitness. Just to try out a new gym for a change. When we got there, we saw that the place was under renovation. The showers were temporarily out of order (I was told it would be fixed in a day or two - no biggie). However, they weren’t sure when all of the other work would be completed. This put me off, but not as much as the complete disinterest shown to us by the person at the reception. Didn’t bother giving us a tour of the gym (Hone, on the other hand was much better at this). This helped us arrive at a decision much quicker - to stick with Hone Fitness. The staff should be better trained at showing off the facility to potential members. Sadly that day, Shape Fitness lost two potential members.

Fantastic experience: So far so good. I’ve been enjoying my time here at this gym. It’s not intimidating, it has a good vibe and it’s a good place to workout without judgement. I would love to come in earlier to workout, but the hours are not as wide as commercial gyms and hopefully that will change eventually.

Negative experience: Can somebody fixt the water fountain? It's never working properly and your toilet paper very bad quality guys and you are about to increase the prices, not happy at all.

Fantastic experience: Stephany and Her husband Emanuel (pardon spelling) run a great shop. Invest in equipment frequently and have a space flooded with natural light in the morning and afternoon. It’s a neighborhood vibe. The 10AM open on weekends is a tad late for me but that aside as a community gym with modern undertones it is a 5 star experience.

Negative experience: After cancelling my membership they have managed to overcharge me twice after they have clearly stated that I was no longer a member plus taking additional $50 cancellation fee. I am extremely annoyed that I have to go back and forth emailing this gym and beg them to return my money every month they falsely charge me the fee.

Negative experience: This place is strange! The lady at the reception can sign you in as a member but can't cancel. The owner of this place hasn't given her the Authority to cancel memberships, it seems. You have to cancel by email that may get addressed whenever! Can't cancel by visiting the facility! Nice little SCAM. I hate scammers! The owner doesn't like bad reviews and resorts to saying - I was rude to the staff. He should fix his systems and not try to deflect system faults.

Fantastic experience: Great no-frills neighborhood gym! Some of the machines are definitely old but they still work fine. No towel service even though they have a shower facility. But for the price, it’s pretty affordable, can’t complain. Update October 2023: they definitely purchased more new equipment and it’s always the best news for gym members! And they are open during the major holidays. What a treat! :)

Fantastic experience: Such a great gym! I joined almost a year ago and was nervous to go at first. As a woman gyms can be an intimidating place. The front desk staff and trainers there are very welcoming and kind. I have trained a bit with Manuel and would definitely recommend him! He is very encouraging but equally tough. He has greatly increased my confidence in the gym and helped me develop my workout routines. The gym itself has a great layout, amazing lighting and well maintained equipment. Would definitely recommend it!

Fantastic experience: I started training with Manny in April this year and it’s been a great experience! Not only have I gotten stronger but he’s helped me get more comfortable at the gym which is something I thought I’d never say. The front staff are always so sweet and the gym feels a lot more welcoming than other gyms I’ve been too. I can only give 5 stars but I’d give more if I could!
