Positive experience: love going to this gym early in the morning to workout from around 5-7am but the holiday hours posted for dec. 27 on their instagram said it’d be open at 5am. my sister and i have been here since 4:50am and it’s now 6am and no staff is here. waiting over an hour just for no one to even show up is pretty ridiculous. i like this location as my home gym but today was disappointing. saw so many of the other morning regulars waiting, getting frustrated, and leaving like us. i hope staff does a better job of committing because staying on track with ur fitness journey is already hard enough in the winter and being failed by the staff at ur home gym feels extra demotivating. 1hr (we left right at 6am so idek when they ended up opening) may not sound like much but it is a lot if you’re on a strict sleeping schedule and cut/fast and need to get a workout in ASAP in the morning. please do better :/

Negative experience: At least the third day without soap. Obviously, this issue exceeds the management's ability to secure soap and conditioner for the showers. Citing supply chain issues is just LAME and PATHETIC. See member notice attached. Management - Go to Costco, Uline or even Shoppers Drug Mart, which is just meters away, until you solve your supply chain issue.

Fantastic experience: Came in yesterday to get a "day pass" because my girlfriend works out here and sometimes I'll tag along. Your front desk lady named Eden was beyond a hidden gem in the gym receptionist world. She noticed it was my birthday that day, which I had forgotten and proceeded to wish me a happy birthday atleast 3 times with the biggest smile on her face. I just came in for a workout sweetheart, and had no plans to have my inner child tear up! She then proceeded to call her boss to ask if she could wave the fee for the day pass, it being my birthday and all, saying the worst thing he could say is No. These extra few steps made me, a grown ass 33 year old man, feel more special than anything that day and it was due to attention to detail, being empathetic, charismatic and authentic. Thanks Eden, I'm going to find out when it's your birthday and walk in with a whole marching band!!

Fantastic experience: Nice place, although a few guys that come in the evening (9-10pm) seem to be just always chatting and laughing loudly with each other the whole time. Kinda annoying. Good thing is that I don't see them spending much time on the machines I guess...

Negative experience: Gentleman working the night shift on Nov 12th, apparently didn’t think that I was serious about fitness (based on appearance I guess) and didn’t want to issue the 7 day pass for me to trial the location that my friend recommended I check out. I drove more than 30 mins to meet my friend at this location and had to head back right away. My friend ended up staying to workout and the rep was okay allowing my friend to trial the highest rated package because “he could tell he was serious about fitness”. This is poor customer service to say the least among other things. I will be looking for another option, thank you.

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience at this GoodLife location. I have a nationwide pass and a fully valid membership, but when I tried to enter, I was denied for no reason. I scanned myself in as usual, but the staff—someone named Gilan or something—stopped me and wouldn’t let me in. This was my first time at this specific gym, and it was beyond frustrating to be turned away like that. The staff looked completely lost and unprofessional, like they were either new or just didn’t care. Definitely not the kind of service I expect from GoodLife.

Negative experience: Every time I step into the ladies' locker room, the hot water is turned off, and the pressure is next to nothing. Before my workout and after I finish showering, the pressure and hot water are magically back to normal. The water fountains, lavatories, and sinks are running just fine. I will change this rating once this ceases. July 29th: the freeze-out continues. I'll be contacting corporate. I'm in the process of requesting a full report from corporate as it's clear to me the shower valve is being turned off. The pressure regulator is not broken. August 6, 2024: zero change, but you do go from hearing flowing water when you start your morning session to hearing screeching from people attempting to shower when it's your time to head in. The cooler water does help you stop sweating after, though. The shower curtains haven't been washed in months. I continue to stare at the same blood stains that have become like abstract art to help kick off my deep thoughts in the morning. August 8, 2024: It's been months at this point, and there has been no shutting down of the shower area due to not meeting service standards or bulletin emailed to let all [female] members know the situation. I'll be bringing a collapsible bucket with me from now on to HoodLife. I used it to get a good few douses this morning. December 12, 2024: There is no shampoo or conditioner. What a way to cut costs. First, turn off the water and now bring your own body wash. Hoodlife is alive and well at this location. Supply chain issues is the pathetic excuse posted. Moreover, when I arrived to Oakville Place, I tried three entrances which were closed off. I called reception and asked if they were still open because I couldn't get past the barriers. She said "yes," after which there was a long pause with dead silence. Unbelievable receptionist skills. Poor thing. I had to say after, 10 seconds of the painful deductive reasoning class I was putting on, "what would you suggest?" This location clearly isn't for people who perhaps, as I did months ago before moving to this side, live in Ajax and need to shower before going to their job in Oakville. If you don't live here, you're not welcome; go shower at home or in a ditch somewhere.

Fantastic experience: I have had Lucas as a personal trainer for a little over a year and the results have been amazing. I lost over 50lbs of body fat and totally changed my body composition. I am someone who has struggled with commitment to the gym for years. Lucas makes the sessions engaging and tailored to your specific fitness goals. As I became more fit, the programming increased in intensity, and it always felt like I was challenging myself. If there was ever a movement or exercise that I didn't like, he would sub it for something more comfortable without sacrificing the integrity of the workout. Lastly, but most importantly, the sessions are extremely chill and the encouragement is always there. You'll feel the burn and complain about your sets, but Lucas will make you laugh through until the last rep.

Fantastic experience: I am a first time Goodlife member and have always had anxiety with public gyms. Micheal & Jaime who work at the front desk are warm and welcoming faces who always greet me with a friendly smile and charming banter. I highly recommend this gym location for its cleanliness, wide range of equipment and welcoming staff.

Negative experience: I stopped by today to see the place, what kind of machines there are, what area, how with air cooling, cleanliness, lighting, I thought I would buy passes for the whole family, but I was not allowed inside, without collecting personal data, my name, phone number, address, etc. I told them, I just want to come in and see the place, I can leave you rights, I do not want to fill any out paper until I am that place is suitable for me, but this was not enough for them, the company's policy is just terrible, they collect data to spam endlessly with their meaningless discounts, I am very disappointed with the local service, it is just terrible, for 5 minutes to lose 5 customers it is necessary to try so hard, about the hall itself I will not say - I was not allowed there without collecting personal data)) Before you write a stupid answer, think first. Collection of personal data for the safety of club members??? And the fact that I offered to leave my driver’s license is some kind of joke for you?) any random information written on a piece of paper > driver’s license. You should work hard on your customer focus, or give at least the management team the opportunity to respond to reviews. Your answer is unfortunately very sad..

Positive experience: It's a nice goodlife, the only downfall is that it is always busy even at off peak hours. Also the staff at the front desk are not very friendly, rarely do they acknowledged you when entering or leaving the gym.

Negative experience: I joined Goodlife and started with personal training in the hope that it would be able to help my shoulder problems, and it was the worst choice I have made in the last 10 years. When I signed up I was assured by my personal trainer that I could cancel the contract for 20 percent of the remaining cost in case the price became prohibitive, only to find out later that he had lied and the cost was much higher. Once I did cancel my membership I was then charged an additional time even though I was assured in-person that this would not occur. I may have to file a dispute with my bank to get my money back. Additionally, I found the attitude of my first personal trainer to be unprofessional at best (rude comments/stories were constantly made during my sessions). Because of these reasons I cannot recommend anyone go to this particular Goodlife.

Fantastic experience: Instead of walking 5 minutes to the GoodLife near me, I do the 7 minute drive to come to this one. No matter how busy it is, I can always find a bench or a squat rack. I love the availability of equipment because they have so much. There’s never a day I can’t find what I need; it’s clean, new, and has the bells and whistles. The only - and I mean ONLY - location I don’t feel nervous coming to at 5pm on a Monday.

Negative experience: I have been good life member for many years and prefer to go to Oakville place. There is huge issue with their machines available. Most treadmills and bikes are broken for numerous months and nobody fixes them? Not sure why it takes such a long time to fix the machines? Upstairs 4bikes out of 6bikes broken over 6months. Every time I go there regardless of what time of the day I hardly can get the bike to do. With my knee issue orthopaedic recommend to do the bike. What’s a point of me paying such a high premium when I am unable to do what I need to improve my health. I am seriously thinking to change my gym. The other location on Trafalgar and Dundas same story and same issues with the bikes and treadmills . I asked one of the associate the other day he said oh these bikes SUCKS?? someone really need to pay attention to this matter. One very disappointed member.

Positive experience: Been a member for a month. On the first day of my membership, the steam room wasn't working. In that time, it has not been fixed. It's starting to get annoying that a feature that I'm paying for and am wanting to use is not available. Every time I go in, I see machines wrapped in red tape due to be broken. It seems like maintenance is an issue at thus gym. With how busy it is, it makes getting a workout harder when there is less equipment available to use. On top of that, I've had 2 issues with my membership card. The first time, it had not been activated, so they gave me a new card. Then, just the other day, I went to use the recovery room I was denied access. Turns out when I was given a new card, they gave me a card that was registered to another member with a different membership. Clearly they aren't paying attention, and it seems like they aren't even checking to make sure the proper person is entering the gym when they scan in.

Positive experience: I’m someone that never really complains about gyms. But I will on this occasion, this gym as everything that you could ever want in a gym. I visit gyms all over the country. I’ve seen bad gyms and good gyms I will say that this gym is very nice indeed. Here’s my concern, the past 3 time I’ve visited this gym I have had to leave! Simple because it shouldn’t take me 3 hours to do an hour workout. The reason for this is that there’s to many people just hanging around the equipment on there phone or just chatting with friends tying up machines and bench’s. I’ve never seen so many young teens using a gym as a hangouts, this really affects the people that just want to get in and out. Fantastic experience: Great location. I have trained at many GF locations in Toronto, Burlington and Oakville and this location has the best and largest assortment of equipment and amenities. Large windows so lots of natural light. Great parking and easy access location right off the 403. Staff are super friendly and the premises and equipment are cleaned thoroughly on a regular basis. Great Personal Training staff. Have been a GF member for 20yrs and spent last 3yrs at the Oakville Place location ….highly recommend

Fantastic experience: After my melanoma surgery in August 2023, I was ready to go back to the gym a month later. I know how important it is to do weightbearing exercises, especially when you get older. I was a little hesitant to use the chest press worrying about the effect it could have on the scar on my chest, so I decided to ask the GoodLife trainer who was standing right across from me. She (Sabrina) had an hour available for a free consultation and that started my road to a healthier, stronger me. I can’t say enough about Sabrina! She knows her stuff and she is kind and caring. She listened to my health concerns and adjusted the exercises accordingly. She was always encouraging, explained the exercises clearly, and challenged me to do more than I ever thought possible. Positive experience: Joined GoodLife for the Zumba classes and have started going for other group classes like body combat, body pump and regymen box. The classes are so good and fun and it motivates you to workout. Having the steam room is a bonus but sometimes it’s not the cleanest.

Negative experience: I was not prrmitted to use the Tanning bed 48 hours in between, I suppoused to tan at 5pm and I was there at 4pm. The assistant manager did not let me use the tanning bed with one hour difference. I Had a 8 hour shift at work, I had to do others things right after, I live in the other end where the gym is located. I took the time to take this high way exit just so I could do this 11 minute tan. I said to him I would write a review and he said "go ahead and do it". Ridiculous.

We do follow a 48 hour tanning policy and associates cannot place a member for a tan in less than this. We definitely understand your frustration and apologize for any inconvenience. It does sound however that staff were following the tanning policy correctly.
Fantastic experience: I often go here for late night workouts. The place is always super clean with lots of equipment. The facilities are modern and the building itself is spacious. The employee who works overnight to let me in is SUPER nice, he knows my face now so it feels like home which is hard to find from a gym. I feel very safe and confident working out at this gym I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I stopped by this location for the first time, and I was extremely impressed. Very clean, spacious, and well taken care of. It is very modern and up to date. Compared to other goodlife locations, this one was the nicest. Offers great lighting in the change room mirrors, a working steam room, and a sauna. I appreciate the shower stalls being fully covered and no cracks in between the doors. It's worth the drive! 10/10

Fantastic experience: This Goodlife at Oakville Place is very nice! I've been a member for well over 15 yrs, mostly worked out at various Mississauga locations, and none of them are as good. Spacious, lots of equipment for compound lifts, such as flat benches, squat racks, power racks, and smith machines. Less of a chance that you'll be waiting on equipment. Upper level for hot yoga, exercise studio, and some more cardio equipment. Staff seem to be friendly, and the change rooms are well lit, equipped with different sized lockers. Although there were still some towels thrown around, I felt like overall cleanliness was rather decent. Surfaces were clean, and no odours present. I think it's well worth the drive for a much better experience, every time.

I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with their professionalism, knowledge, and genuine desire to help me find the perfect membership for my fitness goals. From the moment I stepped into the facility, I was greeted with good vibes and a friendly welcome. He took the time to introduce himself and immediately made me feel comfortable in the environment. Fantastic experience: I love the regymen classes, Aiden is great. The floor of equipment is massive. It’s usually pretty busy. I haven’t used many things here. But the washrooms are usually pretty clean and towel service is a good plus.

Negative experience: Least favorite gym of all the gyms I've trained in. Members have very little, or no, gym etiquette. The most popular piece of equipment in the gym is cell phones. You wait a very long time for socializing and phone using members. Hours were not as advertised, dirty locker and change rooms. Often over crowded during peak times. Made even worse by dawdling members on their phone. If you are looking to get your workout done at a good pace or in a reasonable amount of time, this is not the place for you. Far more attitude and aggressive behavior from members than I have ever seen. Don't dare disrupt a person on a phone call or texter who takes 10 minutes between sets. Far to many bro's there to chat with their buddies versus train. Considering cancelling my membership with Goodlife and using the gym across the street from me. Workouts help to relax you but not if your train at this location.
Fantastic experience: I went for a Zumba class try with Farhana Saleh , very sweet and energetic instructor , amazing and fun workout!

Negative experience: Went to this gym initially 9 or 10 months ago. At that time, I was impressed by the facility, and the management. Sadly, the gym has changed dramatically during this time. Was looking for an upscale Oakville demographic…the demographic now looks more like Scarborough. Many rude, and obtuse members that know very little (if anything) about proper gym etiquette. Moreover, Monday through Thursday it is practically impossible to have an effective workout from 4 to 8 PM because there are far too many people in the gym - line ups at machines? If you’re a serious gym rat, please don’t waste your time in this place! Low end demographic, and overcrowded. Bad experience!

Negative experience: Just joined and there are a lot of great things about this location; equipment, access, and relaxed space to workout. HOWEVER, just showed up for my first Saturday workout to find the door locked. Flagged a staff through the door to signal "what's up" and was told in an irritated response that they don't open till 7. Why does your door advertise loudly "open 24/7" then?? Buyer beware, each location has their own schedule. False advertising at this location. Not happy. RESPONSE TO CORP: See picture of the front entrance attached. Clearly states 24/7.
Hi Sean, thanks for sharing this feedback. We will confirm this club is not 24/7 but 24/4 (24 hours through the week). We are not familiar with any signage specifically stating that the club is 24/7 on the doors. We will have management review to ensure that there is no confusion with the hours of operation. We encourage visiting our website in the future when looking into the hours of a specific club.

Fantastic experience: Wanted to commend the management at this gym (particularly Aaron) for a job well done at resolving my (minor) issue... but I'm sure they're diligent at taking care of major conflicts as well. Aaron (and the lovely front desk associates) were quick to attend to my issue, were excellent listeners and he resolved all in a professional and timely fashion. Someone give this guy a raise!

Negative experience: Update: they fixed the equipment. however, I likely got sick from the club. Someone coughing every 5 mins and no one checking if he is ok. Many equipments are not working tied with red tape and never get fixed.

Fantastic experience: This is the gym we need. It is clean, spacious, with endless equipment. My advice is to come in the morning—it's fresh and all machines are yours. I come here every day for sauna, shower / towel-service, massage chairs—it's a full complex for two dollars a day. The staff is helpful, friendly, and the fitness trainers are highly qualified. Fantastic experience: I Love this Place. To my thinking it is the Cleanest Gym Club out there. The Equipment that I need is All there. Love the Steam Room. My Trainer Sherry Leon, is also the Best Yoga Teacher that I have ever been Lucky enough to join a Class with. I have been in many, but Never with a more qualified Instructor than Sherry. Highly recommend this Club and Sherry Leon. Good People make a Good Club…

Fantastic experience: I reccently became a member with GL and I visited this location and I'm so happy I did! The front desk manager, I believe her name is Michelle, was so kind and patient with me. Taking extra care to explain how the billing would work and what perks were included with my membership. I live a little out of town, but her hospitality and positive energy will keep me visiting this location as often as I can!
