Fantastic experience: Money well spent! Probably the cheapest gym membership I've encountered. For the upgraded membership, the tanning beds, red light beds and water massage beds are great! And to be able to use my membership in any location is a huge bonus. All top of the line equipment, very clean and well maintained. The staff are exceptional. Very pleased with my experience there.

Negative experience: I came with my wife to the gp location and asked if I could use the massage chair while she tans? Was told no because you are not a member. Fair enough. So I said ok I'll re activate my membership, just so I can use the chair. After 3 min of explaining what I want to do I was advised that because it's not my home PLANET FITNESS they can't re activate my membership. So I had to sit and wait for 20 min. As a past black card member and someone who just tried to re activate (Pay the company money) I would expect them to at least try to accommodate and say sorry we can't do it here but you know what go ahead and use it for today or at least offer an alternative solution. Horrible experience will most definitely not be re activating anything.

Negative experience: I was signing up and had a sweet girl helping me trying to make it easier, but the “team manager” came over and was condescending and rude to her right in front of me. Really off putting.

Fantastic experience: I love how they are open early in the morning. The atmosphere is great and not intimidating. The showers are always clean, and it's perfect to get a little smile and "see you later" from the staff as I leave.

Positive experience: Good gym for the price, I wish there hours were longer. 24 hours would be nice, I miss having anytime fitness here in GP.

Positive experience: I have been a regular at planet since they opened in Grande Prairie. And each year it goes down more and more. If you’re looking for a cheap place to work out- it’s the spot. But all aspect that it used to have that really made it a great gym are gone. - half the equipment is broken 80 percent of the time. -They still only have single pieces of some machines- it’s been a lot of time waiting. - the staff turn over is insane- I have never seen a place go through so many front end staff since it was a “dollar more around the corner “ in grande prairie days. They have had some excellent staff over the years; and they all leave for the same reasons. To a regular the staff staying the same is huge. For me. I love when they call my name, when we can make small talk. Some times that’s the only pleasant part of my day. Do better signed your regulars.

Fantastic experience: I love going to Planet Fitness in Grande Prairie, AB. The staff are always so kind, very welcoming and eager to help. They do a great job of keeping the facility clean as well. As a bigger girl, going to the gym was always intimidating, I don't get that feeling here, I feel comfortable to go with a friend or on my own and comfortable to ask for help or tips if I need to. I recommend this gym to anyone looking for a gym.

Negative experience: totally disappointed, they said I dont charge my ebike here so it means this gym only for the guys who owned the cars

Fantastic experience: Staff was very welcoming, fast n efficient, easy to approach. The place seemed to be kept clean and in good order. Lots of machine's, the hydro massage was cool and of course the massage chair n tanning was good. I'd recommend and also will be returning. :)

Positive experience: A few mirrors by the cable crossover machines would go a long way. A few more 45lb plates would be great too. When I'm lucky enough to get a smith machine, there are usually not enough to actually use. Also, I've made this suggestion to the gym, so need to reply to this review asking me to do so....

Positive experience: Atmosphere is great . There are lots of cardio machines some of them I think not necessary. People have to wait for long to do squats and bench press because half of the crowd are waiting for those machines . Most important thing is there’s no weight scale . You should put Atleast 2 weight scale .

Positive experience: Stuff doesn’t care if you understood how to use the machine and if you do right. And yes, I know how to use the app and how to check how the machine works. But the videos show only exercises but not how to adjust the machine to my height. Video doesn’t answer if I’m doing right and if not how to do correctly. For example assisted pull up machine. I told to the person in planet fitness that I’m rookie and very weak. The person showed (by them using the machine) how it works and left. I tried to do it myself it didn’t work for me and I’m a shy enough person to keep trying and doing wrong as well as to go to the person again. That what I call indifference— the person wasn’t interested to really help, to make sure I understood and can do it myself.

Fantastic experience: Location is always clean and tidy, staff are super helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a reasonably priced gym.

Positive experience: Great Gym for what it is. Staff has been great, price is right.. It would be 5 star if they would get up to 100lb dumbells. Maybe some legit squat racks too ( not the end of the world). Opening at 7am on weekends is a bit lame for us people that wake up early lol. I heard other planet fitness gyms were removing some cardio gear and adding more weight training equipment as more and more are doing weight training. Other than those minor issues, it's still a great place to train for me for awhile yet.

Fantastic experience: I have been to a lot of gyms and honestly the staff are amazing and the most professional customer service I have ever delt with, not just in gyms but in any business. There are always at least 2 people cleaning the equipment, washing the floors, etc. it’s always spotless and a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Plus for $25/month you can bring a +1, tanning, red light, massage chairs, and aqua massage beds. For the price of a foot-long sub you get all of that. Usually drop ins at most gyms are $25-$35. Easily could be another gym alternative if you have another gym membership somewhere else too.

Negative experience: Really I was membership sens 2021 and I move to other city before I move I go there to cancel membership the guy was at the front he check with me and he said all good now need to go and until now still taking money from my account even I send email when I call them about this problem the lady she said I need to back there on person if I wanna cancel the membership really that's Abuse and fraud because for 1 years not I move from there but sttil taking money from my account

Negative experience: Never thought of giving one star to this location here at this location 20 mins before closing totally understand that it closing time and ur closing staff want to go home but I didn’t now it was closing at 7 coz most location close at 10 but ur staff need to b polite to tell it closing soon instead of make faces or rude coz ur customer service represent plant fitness beside plant fitness is the best place to work out in other locations n it always make ur feel welcoming.

Negative experience: I live/work in Edmonton but work in Grande Prairie for 1 week per month. I was looking for a place to wprkout during the week in GP and thought id give Planet Fitness a try. THEY TRIED CHARGING ME $21 FOR A ONE DAY WORKOUT PASS!!! Complete joke, poor service, go to the Rec centre as it is much better. Be better, Planet Fitness.

Negative experience: Absolute garbage, would rate below one star if I could. The gym itself is fine but the membership and staff have become nightmares since covid. I have been trying to cancel my membership for over a YEAR since the covid shutdowns. When the accounts had been deactivated, I was not alerted by email, call or text that my account had been reactivated and charges were stacking up. I have gone to the front desk multiple times since the initial reopening and each time I have been told a manager can waive this for me, considering covid was unexpected and it was not a smooth reopening. I was also told the manager is only in very early mornings. I have gone in multiple times trying to find a manager. I've tried calling and emailing for a manager and only just got to one today where she proceeded to roll her eyes at me and told me I signed the contract and not to come back until I paid the fees. I don't remember this contract including a historical pandemic and the fallout of that, I didn't know planet fitness had future predicting abilities! If I remember correctly, this company had faced a class action lawsuit regarding covid and unexpected charges already. There wouldn't be so many fees if y'all could have cancelled my account OVER A YEAR AGO. I made one of the employees document my visit for me a long time ago, hopefully that's still on file. Its probably been over a year. I forget his name but he was very helpful and understanding, unlike the manager who treated me like a thieving crackhead. I see from other reviews that this manager has a history of being very rude and unhelpful, especially with covid membership issues. I have had better service from teenagers who have no idea what they were doing.

The no judgement posts everywhere, a reminder for all (especially for the ones worried about being judged) a reminder to not worry about it and just do you :). This is the first gym that I have joined, and I am soo happy that I chose PF. The staff seem nice, gym is clean and organized. looking forward to joining some classes!

Positive experience: For general fitness, convenience and price, it is very good. For elite sports performance, it comes up short. I use Planet Fitness for warm-up and sustained fitness. I use other memberships when I actually train. The potential is high, however, there is a template for all PF, so each one is very much the same. It is an excellent gym for those who travel as you can find PF across Canada and US.

Fantastic experience: Returning the Planet Fitness after a long hiatus has been excellent. Their equipment, stations, and areas are clean and well maintained. I rarely have issues getting a turn to use equipment, and staff are friendly.

Negative experience: Just got my membership I was a first time person yesterday I came in and I told the guy who worked last night that and there was three staff were just sitting there talking not one person showed me around or told me how the gym worked. Love the building and the accommodations but the staff needs better service. I asked to do hydro massage after my workout and the guy buddy said a few minutes so I sat and wait for 5-10 in the waiting area before I asked again and didn’t show me where to go and came after and it wasn’t busy.

Fantastic experience: Let me tell you about our experience. We really enjoy chatting with Sam and Kate, both are extremely helpful with our plan and referrals. Sam always has a smile on his face always greets us at the door. A bulldog on cleaning the floor. Kate is great to see as she is full on cleaner in the ladies room. Boy are ladies messy. Some great staff choices with these two.

Positive experience: Would be great if the gym was 24/7. I can guarantee that there is going to be whole lot of people joining if you open it for all day.

Negative experience: Wasn't allowed to work out anymore due to not having the vaccine! Asked the employee if they had the vaccine or not wouldn't answer my question

Negative experience: No free weights. Nothing over 75lbs dumbbells. If u pushing hard on your last set and bar or dumbell fall on ground the employees suddenly apppears and talked about not slamming on ground. Clearly not understand the dynamics of bodybuilding.

Fantastic experience: my original review from a year ago was pretty negative, however i’ve seen so much improvement with the staff that it’s a complete different environment now. They’re friendly, they’ll connect and they’re actively cleaning and checking stations which is great to see. One girl always makes it a point to say hi to everyone who comes in and she’s a great model for the team. They also played shrek on one of the TV’s today so that’s a bonus star.

Fantastic experience: It’s by far the cleanest and most welcoming gym I’ve ever been to. The staff is very friendly and cleaning both the change rooms as well as the gym itself. I would like to see the equipment that’s broken get fixed sooner as well as the hours of operation longer on weekends preferably. Overall an extremely pleasant workout environment and a positive place of inclusion for anyone to visit.

Positive experience: I like the gym. It's pretty simple though and I do enjoy free weights - which they have (dumbbells) and some preset barbells, but there are only smith machines for bench press, Squat, Deadlift, etc. The gym is pretty corporate and impersonal which I don't have a problem with, but some folks might.

Positive experience: Big gym. Lots of open cardio. My only qualm is that the TRX machine area sometimes is "reserved" which takes away the only other pulley gym - I personally think it should only be "reserved" during off time hours

Negative experience: Probably worst gym I've ever gone to. There's a boot room at the entrance that smells like onions, the locker rooms smell like 80 fat guy after 30 seconds on the treadmill. Dumbells only go to 75lb which is no bueno. If I can pick it up, it's light weight baby there's literally no free weights other than dumbells. Hell, there's not even enough plates for the leg press. Can't wear tank tops or lift heavy weight. Most beta gym ever. Worst customer service too. Emailed them like 15 times to try and cancel with no reply back. Says online that I need to mail them a letter or go in to cancel. Complete waste of time. Only reason I got a membership here is cuz it was cheap and I worked in GP for a few weeks.

Negative experience: They should have a circuit section that's ACTUALLY reserved for those who want to do the circuit , or remove the signage that says the circuit section is reserved ( lies!). Every time I try to do a circuit workout some selfish dink will hop on one of the Machines I'm up next for and monopolize it for 30 min. I hear there is a cool 30 minute kickboxing place in town with reasonable rates that's also very clean ✌

Negative experience: I initially signed up to Planet Fitness for the classes and personal trainer that they advertised. Unfortunately workout classes and a personal trainer are not available at this location, so I was quite disappointed. The gym is clean and spacious though which I appreciate.

Positive experience: I would give five stars if there were more free weights and squat racks. There is useful space wasted with treadmills and ellipticals which don’t have as much traffic, which could be transformed into strength training areas. Just my opinion!
