World Gym Brantford

Negative experience: I’m extremely disappointed with the childcare policy at this gym. Requiring a 24-hour reservation for daycare is incredibly inconvenient for parents. Life with children is unpredictable, and some days we can plan ahead, but other days we can’t. This rigid policy doesn’t make sense, especially for a facility that should understand the needs of families. What made matters worse was how we were treated. Instead of being understanding and accommodating for the day, we were turned away with our child. This lack of consideration, despite us paying over $60 a month for membership, was the final straw. We’re canceling our membership today. If you’re a parent, I’d recommend looking for a gym that actually supports the flexibility and understanding we need.

Negative experience: This gym is run by scammers. My girlfriend had a membership there for 2 years and when she went to cancel her membership, she paid her outstanding balance and was told it was everything was cancelled she was then given an additional bill which they won’t even state the reason for. Beware of this place. It seems to be run and managed by a bunch of hot heads who have zero customer service skills.

Negative experience: Worst customer service I have ever had and absolutely read contract as they try to hustle all this money out of you. Wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone, lots better options in Brantford! And better pricing too without all this hassle! I'm being builled to pay 185$? For what?... I was told my account was paid off and membership canceled now I'm being harassed by a Karen (literally her name) to pay this collections fee? Am I being scammed?

Fantastic experience: World gym is amazing! The staff is kind and helpful, the equipment and facility are clean and well taken care of, and they have just recently opened to 24 hours Monday morning to Friday night, with Saturday’s and Sunday’s at regular hours. Now I can get my early, early morning workouts in that fit my schedule! I most definitely recommend World Gym Brantford!

Fantastic experience: Just joined the gym 6wks ago. Gym is always clean and they hand out clothes for the purpose of wiping down the machines after use once you’re done it goes in a basket for reuse after they’ve clean them. I hired a trainer to start me off. Kyle has been great talks me through every movement and make sure that I’m not overdoing any exercise as well as corrects my form as I’m doing the exercise. He also gives advice on other machines to try to achieve your goals. They’re open 24 hours a day Monday through Friday and then Saturday and Sundays are 7 to 7 which I wish was later for work conflict. But I would recommend this gym to anyone.

Fantastic experience: So I have really struggled as a person with 4 biological kids and 3 step kids and now divorced but what really got me was all the weight I gained. I have joined many gyms and was just left to figure things out on my own I googled gyms and came up on world Gym and let me tell you I drove 40 mins just to sign up first off the beautiful soul kait spoke with me and I felt as if I was in a good place and then I decided I needed help and she paired me with the most amazing trainer you will ever meet Joelle her encouragement is next level she makes me push as hard as I can harder than I never knew I could I felt as if I have found a friend who wanted the best for me let me tell you with joella results is a most plus she makes me want to push she tells me do it for you no one else and I know you can positive thinking I love that girl .

Fantastic experience: Owners go out of their way to accommodate

Negative experience: I am joining the many who have been scammed by World Gym Brantford. My account was supposed to be on hold until July 5th, 2024. However, at 3 AM on May 30th, I received an email stating that my payment was declined. This was odd since my account was on hold. Fortunately, I had already closed that card. At 9 AM on May 30th, I requested to cancel my membership and was told I owed $75 for cancellation plus another $30 for a missed payment, which they attempted to charge me five months before my hold was supposed to end. By the end of the day, I was told I owed $145 and was being blackmailed into paying $108 to settle the account. I couldn't believe I was being harassed and bullied by a gym. What world do we live in? I had the misfortune of dealing with Karen, who insisted that I needed to give 30 days' notice. I had already provided 5 weeks' notice. I am not a new member; I have been with this gym for 4 years, and I am not under any contract. I had given more than enough notice. This isn't the first time I've tried to cancel either. I was persuaded to hold my membership two other times. Karen claimed that I was charged only after I asked to cancel, despite showing proof of their attempt to charge me, which led to my cancellation request. Many people have warned me about their exit scams, but I guess I had to experience it for myself. Most banks are aware of the scams this gym is pulling, and mine was no exception. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They even sent me to a fake collections officer and had someone strange call me. These people have no idea how to conduct business properly. Cancelling memberships without all this nonsense would make them more money in the long run. They are immature, hot-headed, and lack any understanding of ethics. They make up whatever they want and threaten absurd things to try and take your money. I’ve noticed their replies on Google Reviews are very manipulative, trying to outsmart anyone reading the 1-star reviews. Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful service. Their contract states they won’t raise prices, but they scammed everyone there. They say you can cancel after 1 year, but after 4 years, I can’t cancel? Lunatic paradox. Avoid this gym at all costs.

Positive experience: The atmosphere is nice and the workers are very friendly, the machines are clean and well kept

Negative experience: Low-quality gym, with low-quality ethics, and low-quality business practices. This gym is a complete scam, and is notorious for overcharging, double-charging, and making it as difficult as possible to cancel your membership. Would you like to cancel? not on a contract? Fork up $150.00. A lot of other gyms will put your account on hold if you miss a payment or two; not world gym, they will continue charging you in the background until you have a $500.00 balance and then send you an email EVERY SINGLE DAY as well as spam calling you, until they send it to their shady credit department to continue harrassing you. This seems to be a very common practice for them, as everyone seems to have the same experience and confusion as to why they inexplicably owe exorbitant amount of money, but its never their responsibility. Oh and people like to bang in the change room, and world's response, "there's nothing we can do". STAY AWAY FROM THIS SORRY EXCUSE OF A GYM. You'll end up tied to it like some sort of blood oath contract, before they request you donate bone marrow to cover their charges and fines, which seem to have no structure either. Everyone else that's been scammed by them, file a better business bureau complaint.

Negative experience: *DO NOT LISTEN TO THE REPLY THEY 100% CONDONE BULLYING, MANY PEOPLE HAVE FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE* *had more then enough proof but they didn’t care, which isn’t surprising* Things like bullying people on the special Olympics team are condoned by the owners. Could not stand the ethics of the place anymore. Gym is very small, and they only have one set of each machine (except having two smith and cable machines). Often causing conflicts between members, situations are not handled well by management. To much drama just for a gym. Wouldn't be surprised if they respond to this with some type of excuse.

Fantastic experience: Nice modern gym with great equipment and programs at a comparable price to Anytime Fitness with the all access pass it's great value. Plenty of room.

Negative experience: They like to charge you a bunch of bogus fees if you leave. It’s happened to most people I know who have gone there including myself

Fantastic experience: Gyms are a matter of personal taste and needs but World gym has been perfect for me. It is my favourite gym in over a decade of having memberships elsewhere. The ownership, coaches and staff have always been professional and personable. This gym is a diverse place where everyone appears to be respected and encouraged no matter their motivations and goals. I find it to be a no nonsense, no gimmicks kind of gym and I like that.

Fantastic experience: Clean equipment in good repair, open 24 hrs. most days, lots of classes, helpful staff, and friendly patrons. First gym I’ve been to in 10 years, and I felt right at home from day one!

Fantastic experience: I really like the fact that they changed there hours so that we can basically go anytime . Customer service desk employees are friendly . The locker rooms and bathrooms are clean . The gym is well equipped and has different rooms for different things . They even have a daycare which can be convinient .

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff & overall welcoming atmosphere! The hot yoga class was perfect for any level (in the eyes of a beginner lol) and wasn’t crowded. The 3D body scan was extremely informative & the personal trainer who walked us through it was incredibly kind & knowledgeable! Excited to be a member of this gym!

Fantastic experience: I love world Gym! The facility is always clean, it’s one 15 minute bus ride away from my house (super convenient!) and the staff is always keen to answer any questions. They even came up to me when I was newer and corrected my bad form. I never had that experience at any other gym! 5 stars all around!

Positive experience: I really enjoy coming in the mornings, theres always machines and benches open. I never have to wait for the machine I want. Overall its a great gym with a good atmosphere.

It's like a second home, has pretty much everything you need : Heavy weights, machines, lots of cardio equipment ,classes plus tanning, hydromassage beds, red light therapy, kids world, boxing, etc. Also the owners aren't your average owners, they are active employees who actually work there and keep things running smooth. Great people, great gym!

Fantastic experience: The best gym if ever been to! Not only is it a nice gym that is open 24 hrs, the staff are really nice, the machines are clean and well maintained. I use to be worried about going to the gym because of the people who work out constantly would be judging me; that was all in my head. In one day I had 4 people giving me tips, asking if I needed any help or if I wanted to use a machine they were working on. A very welcoming community space. Love it at world gym!

Positive experience: Very clean and friendly gym. I love the new extended hours as it allows me to be more flexible with my workout schedule. You are always greeted with great staff who help maintain the upkeep of the environment. I have recommended this place to a few people since I started in February. I have a couple of concerns though. Firstly, they are a bit expensive for the base membership which doesn’t allow you to use any kettlebell weights. Secondly, on Friday nights they start shutting things down at 8:30pm. This makes guests, like myself, feel like they shouldn’t be there or use certain areas. Finally, the roof leaks. When I informed the staff they said they knew about the issue and have told upper management. But they didn’t put a wet floor sign down to inform people.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined world gym, I have had a great experience with all the staff. The staff are super friendly and they always welcome me and say goodbye when I leave. My trainer Kyle is absolutely amazing, he’s very knowledgeable and takes his time to show me all the machines and makes sure I’m doing everything correctly. The gym is super clean and bright! I highly recommend world gym!!!

Absolute nightmare dealing with Karen, very unprofessional and lacks knowledge about the gym she owns. She charged my sister and I too much and refused to refund our money back, instead said we can have credit for the gym ? And we weren’t allowed to use this credit towards our monthly payment. She also falsely accused me of changing my card info when that’s impossible and blamed it on human error, when in fact I talked to their collections officer and he was aware the situation was indeed not my fault and probably a system errror. She expected me to pay more AGAIN after she already took an additional $50 from each of us for no reason. There was no getting out of this gym even after the week long messaging I had to deal with to get someone to understand what was happening. The stress and threats about collections was ridiculous, I know for a fact if matters were to have escalated I had all the proof I needed to support my case. If anyone would like receipts.. I in fact have all the emails and messages. Do NOT go to this gym, there’s not even enough equipment honestly and it’s small. Definitely have better gyms in brantford please do ur research beforehand.

Negative experience: After i realized there are other gym offers more for less such as better equipments, more variety of equipments newer equipments and cheaper price. Although i join using my employer promo the monthly price still high, once my contracts is done, i will not renew my membership. The only things i absolutely love is the kids world worls (almost like daycare) inside the premises except limit only 1 hour. How can i do proper workout in one hour?

The staff and members are so nice and always greet you with a smile and ask how you are doing. Being a female it’s nice to go to a gym and everyone just does their own thing and you don’t feel like your being stared at or judged and for that I will continue to be apart of the world gym family! Positive experience: It is a pretty good all around gym for basic needs. The equipment is mostly kept in good repair, and when things do break they are fixed up pretty quickly. The place is clean and kept fairly tidy. It also is not super busy. It definitely has its peak times, but even during peak, there is enough space and equipment for me to get my workouts in. Front staff are nice and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: Always clean and lots of machines to choose from. I used the kids program when my son was an infant and he loved it! I've always felt comfortable working out. Would love to try the classes if there were more in the evenings.

Well maintained and quality equipment, body positive and supportive atmosphere, very friendly staff. I recommend this gym for everyone. They also have a child care area with amazing staff and my kids ask to go everyday!

The equipments are maintained, the ambience is motivating and the people are amazing! There are weekly classes for total fat burnout and yoga by experts like Anna, Julie which keeps you on.. I love working out here and if you’re looking for something similar, this is the place to be.

Fantastic experience: I've been to every gym in Brantford at this point and World's is by for my favourite. There's a wide range of equipment that is rarely broken (and if it is, it's fixed right away), friendly/chill staff members, multiple squat racks and smith machines, a massive dumbbell rack, an energy drink/protein shake vending machine, clean bathrooms/changerooms - the list goes on. Love being a member at this gym :)

Negative experience: I loved the environment at world, but left a couple years ago due to the immature staff. Upon entertaining the idea of going back, I learned the staff had not improved but only gotten worse.. until they learn how to treat valuable customers, don’t waste your time.

Positive experience: I have been a member at World Gym basically since they’ve opened. Great experiences and friendly staff. Whenever a problem occurred, Karen would solve it, she always went above and beyond. I did just cancel my membership, only because I can’t stand driving around the mall with the construction and traffic. But I would recommend this gym :)

Fantastic experience: I have Parkinsons and working out at the gym;utilizing the trainers, yoga classes,plates classes and red light therapy has helped immensely. I have regained a lot of my flexibility and reduced my shakes. Exercise is life! Do something you love that gets you moving and you might just be suprised at the benefits you find.

Fantastic experience: I've had a membership and did Personal Training at World Gym for over a year. After going through a major surgery and running into financial issues due to unfortunate circumstances, Karen and the World Gym team as well as my PT are some of the most kind and most understanding people I've ever met, who have never ever denied to help. I really recommend this Gym to anyone I come across. The equipment is great, the Gym is always clean and the staff are all wonderful! Highly recommend!

Not only did I not have to pay$. They gave me an all-access 3 day pass for free. This gym is probably the cleanest, most amazing gym atmosphere I’ve ever attended. Fantastic experience: I am a new World Gym member and it has quickly felt like home. Adam has done a great job on listening to my workout goal, nutrition and finding the right trainer to help me be successful. My personal trainer Manlio has been encouraging me week after week and surpassing my expectations on my progress. Manlio pushes me past reps I would of quit on by myself, discusses nutrition , and ensures proper form with every set. You can tell his passion is to help his clients achieve their fitness goals. Yoga with Julie has been challenging and fun. As a newbie, she is taking the time to explain and give me optional movements. The team at brantford world gym truly works hard to make you feel welcome. So happy I chose this gym for my fitness journey.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, wish I lived closer to be able to use it daily. Staff is great, lead me to where I want to go. Working with my coach Manlio is great! He really knows his stuff, very smart guy. I’ve learned techniques and excercise you can’t learn anywhere else!! Put on some serious lean muscle since I started training with him as my coach!
