Negative experience: Bad customer service and gym timings. Gym lacks with the amenities and overall hygiene specially in the washrooms

Negative experience: Lol the guy at the front kept following me to the washroom told me my eyes are red and to come to the front and he also asked me if I’m on drugs even tho I smoke weed should not be there concerns haha he took me to the front and asked the other employees to pull my account out so I left due to the disrespect I would recommend white rock location not this one
Negative experience: Some of the equipment have been out of service for over a month.

Fantastic experience: I have been training with Paras and he is amazing as he understands your personal fitness goals. I began at level- zero and now I’m getting addicted to the sessions.. I really like the ambience of the gym because there’s more space and equipment than the number of people. I’m also following the diet which Paras gave me and it is super easy to cook but very effective!! I appreciate the efforts that Fitness World’s Team makes to help us achieve what a healthy and fit body is!!!!! Just go for it, you’ll be skeptical in the beginning but once you join.. you’ll definitely love it!!! Thank you Ainan for such an amazing orientation and customer service !! Negative experience: Parking is horrendous. Good luck finding a spot at peak hours. So much illegal parking, I had to wait for the driver to get out and move the car before I could get out. Inside the gym is not much better. Free weights are always misplaced and there are not enough plates. Need to scavenge the gym to do a workout. Garbage everywhere. Bathroom is disgusting and the whole gym smells like an armpit. The staff is nice

Fantastic experience: I did personal training with Shanu and got excellent results over the last few months. Shanu creates thoughtful workouts that address my goals and specific needs. My knowledge, technique and confidence has increased a lot, and I am lifting more than I thought I would be able to. Shanu is knowledgeable, motivating, caring and fun to work with. The gym itself is large and well-equipped, I especially love the lifting platforms.

Fantastic experience: Paras is my trainer and is very knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about the work he does! He is very helpful for individuals at all levels and will help you learn about which muscle groups to work and he will work with your current lifestyle to make adjustments. After four sessions and only a slight change to my diet, I gained muscle mass, lowered my body fat percentage, and lost a little bit of weight as well.

Fantastic experience: I am writing this review for my mom, my mom just started going to the gym at this location and she absolutely loves it. She got an orientation from Nycki and was very pleased with her membership pricing, and the kindness and knowledge from the employee. I definitely recommend coming here, they have a great selection for cardio and weights.

Fantastic experience: The gym is big and filled with all the equipments required for a proper workout session. The gym is also filled with good trainers, for me it was Paras whose teaching style and technique really helped me correct my form and posture for most of the exercises I was doing and pushed me daily for an effective workout. He has also been a great help with my nutrition and diet. This just shows that he is not just a good trainer but nice a person who looks after his clients to ensure they are progressing each and everyday towards their body goals.

Negative experience: Fitness World has a lot going for it—spacious facilities, tons of equipment, and a setup that’s perfect for a variety of workouts. On paper, it’s a great gym. But the parking situation is absolutely unacceptable and speaks volumes about the type of people who go here. Members routinely park illegally along the fence or, even worse, in handicap spots. And it’s not because they don’t have options—there’s plenty of street parking nearby. It’s a mix of laziness, selfishness, and maybe even an overinflated ego. These people think the rules don’t apply to them, or they just can’t be bothered to take a few extra steps, which is incredibly ironic for people supposedly here to work on their fitness. What makes it even worse is the staff’s complete indifference. Instead of actually maintaining the gym and addressing issues like the parking chaos, they’re glued to their phones or chatting with each other. The gym needs active staff members who are present, ensuring everything is running smoothly and that members are following the rules. If the staff would just do their jobs and put some effort into maintaining the gym—keeping the space clean, managing the equipment, and ensuring members are parking responsibly—the whole experience would improve significantly. The gym itself is great, but the entitlement, laziness of the members, and the lack of effort from the staff ruin what could otherwise be an amazing place to work out. Fitness World needs to get serious about maintaining the gym and addressing these issues before they drive more members away.

Negative experience: Like others have mentioned, if you want to go to the gym right when it opens, don’t bother with this gym. They have a huge issue with opening on time and you cannot depend on them showing up. This happens on a regular basis and manager is aware yet nothing has changed in 2 years of having this issue. All you get is a “sorry” if you bring it up. Second issue is that the gym is dirty and the ladies section lacks equipment. The huge men’s section get everything but they don’t care at all in spending money on the ladies only side. I asked for one small item to be added over six months ago that costs less then $100 and have followed up with nothing being done. It’s sad to see this gym in such a state as this used to be a top gym in the early 00s.

Negative experience: This gym is brutal staff don't show up on time to open the gym on going issue, their staff are too busy sitting behind the desk while on their phone. Dumbbells and free weights all over the floor or left on the machines, no one cleans. Really sucks this gym use to be amazing key word use to be, you would think with all the other gyms out there FW would step up their game.

Fantastic experience: Safe place to workout as this place has separate “only women’s section” and the women’s section is well equipped too. I would highly recommend this gym. Moreover, i would like to appreciate this location’s manager Mr. Lalit’s understanding and communication skills. He helped me out to reslove my membership issue and I dont understand why would people leave negative review without communicating their problems with the team.

Fantastic experience: I accompany my son to the gym, where he participates in the child minding program under the supervision of Ms. Carol. She maintains order and ensures his well-being by notifying me via text whenever his behavior requires attention. The Kid Zone room is equipped with numerous toys, fostering an enjoyable environment for the children.
Negative experience: It's a good gym, but too busy after certain times. What really bothered me about this gym is that you can't even weigh yourself there. They only have one scale and only exclusive for personal trainers. This is the first gym I went to that doesn't have weighing scale for their members. If you can't measure your progress.. what's the point

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for over a year now mainly because as a Mother it is impossible to find a good place with childminding in Surrey. Let me tell you, the lady they have during the week caring for the children is an angel, she truly knows her job so well, she is very gentle with all the kids (my daughter is obsessed with her) plays with them, makes sure everyone is playing safely and cater to them as if they were her own. Fantastic experience: Gym is spacious and worth the amount we pay. They provide an in body scan, but only at your request. Coach Prab is great. And I am getting trained with Shanu and she seems excellent. She is approachable, warmth and detailed to the core. She explains the basic and how each and every workout works within the body. She also provides clear guidance as to how each machine should be used from head to toe with adjustments based on our height and goals. I love going to her sessions !

Negative experience: Zero stars. The issue is the manager who is the rudest and most unprofessional person i ever dealt with. Got a 7 day referral from a friend and was coming in to use the gym. on about my 5th day the manager came to my partner and i and told me we have a 3 day pass that was expired and we cant use the gym, and if we wanted to work out we need to sign up or pay drop in. I showed him my text where we were referred and he didnt even bother to look at it. Telling me were just abusing the gym and looking for free workouts from him( like he owns the gym) He went on and said he wasnt working atm and just came to tell us this. The way he came at us without asking us any questions to figure out the situation, just straight accusations. Is this how he treats potential members very dissapointing. Went to another gym who treats people with more respect.

Negative experience: They made a mistake on entering payment details, when the problem was noticed it was brought to their attention in person and via email and it was brushed off. They charged $25 twice = $50 in NSF fee’s when it was their administrative incompetence. Trying to communicate with the manager there and head office yet they are unresponsive and inattentive in solving the problem. Complained in person and via email including corporate’s head office and was ignored. Still in the process after several months trying to get them to give back the wrongful charges out of my account. They are not organized and don’t seem to take reasonable responsibility for their mistakes.
Negative experience: Awful experience. Me and my husband were members for YEARS. Had to move to Ontario in June, and we both cancelled in-person before the move. They have since charged us SIX TIMES and claim “there is no record of cancellation”!! Would not recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: I really like this FW location! I've worked out at other locations (Cambie St. in Vancouver and Lougheed in Burnaby) and the Surrey one is the largest and is the least busy of the ones I've been to. They have all the equipment and machines you need. The women's section is also a bonus. I want to give a special shoutout to Madina who was an amazing trainer! She is so knowledgable and encouraging and genuinely so kind. You can tell she is fully focused on her client during the sessions. Weeks after our sessions ended, I would message her with a couple questions regarding form etc. and she always answered which I appreciated. She is such a boss and I highly recommend her if you are looking for a trainer!

Negative experience: I found this gym takes out money from your bank account out of no reason, I have subscribed to the most basic plan which means I will get biweekly payments of 14 dollars. But they deducted 52 dollars from my bank account without of any reason. Also I did not liked there customer service

Negative experience: I wish I could give this gym zero stars. The manager here is incredibly degrading. He has no idea how to talk to members, both long-time and new. It's shock ing how rude and unprofessional he is, making it a very uncomfortable environment . Having a conversation with him for a couple minutes you can see how disingenuous he is of a member concern. Maintenance is a joke, there's practically no team to speak of. Despite paying a maintenance fee every year, there have been zero upgrades or improvements. Equipment is always broken, and nothing ever gets fixed. It's clear they don't care about the gym or the people who use it. Multiple machine are broken for months yet they say maintenance team comes often. the customer service is seriously lacking, especially with the afternoon staff. I’ve mentioned multiple times that the wipes are empty, bringing it up to both front desk staff and the manager. Each time, they ignore the issue and keep chatting among themselves. It’s clear that customer concerns are not a priority here. You can’t even get a simple “hello” when you walk in and if you have a question you have to hunt someone down as they’re often in the office or lounging on the massage chairs. When I asked for an invoice for work purposes, I was told to come back another day as they continued to chat amount themselves. Then, the next time I came in, they said only the manager could do it. Waste of complete time it seems no one is willing to help. Giving away free water bottles for fake reviews is absolutely ridiculous. You know you’re doing a terrible job if that’s what you have to resort to. Take the review as an opportunity to do better not just push it down to hide everyone from the real issue. Funny how the manager is there all day yet he is unaware of staff and cleaning issue. Last thing to mention u can see by the number of likes on the low reviews for a honest understanding of the gym culture here.

Negative experience: The music on the upper floor sucks, even my headphone are giving up. Some trainer is giving session to 3-4 people while using a mic and on high volume music like this is a club not a gym. Like seriously! There’s no need of a mic and the music is soooo disturbing. Secondly, it’s too suffocating, guys please turn fans or AC on. Also, please do something for parking it’s usually full.
Negative experience: I have been going to this since January this year. The facility is complete and up-to-date. However, I can say less about its service. My work took me to another city and I have been trying to cancel my membership since they do not have a location here. After providing the documents required, the staff still says they cannot process my request. I am not sure how this came about since I never had an issue like this before. I would CONSIDER twice before signing up with these guys.

Fantastic experience: I used to come to this gym before and didnot appreciate the service from the staff. I was furious to cancel my membership, but the new managers Lalit and Prab are the best people I have met and helped with my goals. Not only that, but I have gotten personal training for Prab she is the best trainer ever. She took her time to understand my needs and my goals and has been continually helping me feel good about myself and confident again to go workout. I appreciate the staff so much for always taking care of the members and helping people like me to stay consistent.

Negative experience: Please avoid this gym at all costs for multiple reasons. Do not be tempted by its prices or vicinity because it is not worth it. I used to come here 4-6 days a week for months. Not only is the parking situation a mess (I’ve had to wait 20 minutes as my car was blocked in by illegal parking along the fence, people illegally park in the handicapped spots, and people save spots for their friends when it’s busy), facilities are rarely upgraded (missing pins in the machines, water fountain was broken and overflowing water was caught by a bucket for the longest time, and the women’s washroom is only upstairs on the other side of the main facility), and there are multiple times I’ve come to the gym during open hours only to find it closed because the power has went out/maintenance without any notice. Not only that, as a 20 y/o girl I’ve often felt uncomfortable by other members at this gym and have been approached during my workout to be asked for my number, and it’s just awkward coming in again when I’ve turned people down knowing I might see them again. The “women’s section” is open as the “wall” is just a barricade where other men can clearly see us. Male staff members are in that section to clean up but this seems counterproductive. A lot of other girls that attend here feel this way at this gym and we’ve all spoken with each other about it but the location was too convenient for us to leave. Most importantly, I went in to cancel my membership after 8 months of consistent attendance. The staff initially said I could cancel by paying off the remaining weeks, which I did using Apple Pay. Later, FW claimed the cancellation didn't go through, despite the payment being deducted from my account. Despite providing proof of my payment, they continued to charge me. Attempts to resolve the issue through emails (which they gave me the wrong one over the phone), phone calls, and in-person visits by me were unsuccessful, with staff citing lack of proof on their system. They deny that the transaction ever happened and that I never got charged. After talking to 5 different employees, the manager said he “already” forwarded my email (that they never replied to) to head office and that I shouldn’t come back anymore and just wait for a reply from head office. I came in again with a bank statement and a stamp from RBC which is what the bank advised me to do. RBC told me they should HAVE to refund me now, even if they don’t have proof of my charge on their end—otherwise I should sue. The manager was so upset when he saw me again and kept interrupting me, saying he just finished deadlifting and that his wife was waiting during our conversation. He would direct our conversation to other employees when they did not know what to do. I asked why a part-timer is able to charge me $80 but him as a general manager cannot refund me that $80. Instead he just offered to shorten my contract and end my membership early to appease me, only for him to later revoke it when he was clearly emotional and frustrated towards the end. He made another staff member type a new email explaining my claim to head office infront of me. I asked him to also forward me the email he apparently sent to head office the day before that and he refused. This clearly shows me he never sent one. The way this was handled by the staff was completely unprofessional as all I initially wanted was to just end my membership, if not, just get my $80 refund as I was wrongfully charged. I just want a refund due to the staffs’ mistakes and be on my way. If you are thinking of joining this gym, please take these negative reviews left by multiple people into consideration as I don’t want what’s happening to us, to happen to you.

Fantastic experience: I got a few training sessions from Madina and she is fabulous. She understands the goals clearly and helps to achieve in a short period of time. Being very kind, she is also very flexible with training times. I had a great experience with her.

Negative experience: I have been attending this GYM since September 2023 at 5:30 am, quality of the equipment is very good, but previously there was a girl "Lauren" who opened the gym punctually at 5:30, since January of this year ( 2024) they changed Lauren and now there is a man who at least once a week arrives late to open, there are times that we have waited until 7 am for another FW employee to arrive to open, poor of responsibility and discipline on the part of this SF team member!!! Today, March 27, was no exception and he arrived very late to open the gym. If this continues, other members who attend at this time and I will change gym

Negative experience: If I could I would honestly give no stars!!! Our car was hit in the parking lot and for 3 months ICBC and I were asking the team for footage of the accident and they have failed to provide it.. unorganized, unprofessional and incompetent! I've asked for a copy of the video footage to help with my hit an run accident in your parking lot, for 3 months now!! 3 months!! Honestly thank God I canceled my membership with your company because your team clearly lacks good customer service. Just see the other reviews below and avoid this place at all costs.
Negative experience: Finished my work out all good, when it was time to leave another vehicle boxed me in, I took a picture of the car and license plate, went to the front desk they told me this is a known problem that customers are getting boxed in, there’s nothing they can do the PA system doesn’t work and I just have to sit and wait till whoever is done there workout. Fantastic experience: been going to this gym for a while and can tell the trainers are very genuine and want the best for you. my personal favourite trainer is prab she’s so kind while also motivating you. i would highly recommend this gym!
Negative experience: I am utterly disappointed with my experience at Fitness World Gym. Despite notifying them of my unavailability due to a personal tragedy – the passing of my father in India – the gym charged me from October 1st to December 1st, a period during which I was not in Canada. This lack of empathy and understanding is deeply unsettling. When I called the front desk to explain my situation, the agent's response was far from helpful. Not only did they fail to guide me on the necessary steps to freeze my account during my absence, but they also displayed a disconcerting lack of concern for my circumstances. Seeking resolution, I escalated the matter to the manager on January 7th, 2024, only to be met with refusal to provide any assistance or credit. This lack of accountability and refusal to rectify the error is unacceptable. Taking my grievance a step further, I sent an email detailing the issue on January 9th, 2024. Regrettably, I have yet to receive any response, further emphasizing Fitness World Gym's disregard for customer concerns. This experience reflects a glaring lack of customer service and empathy, making it clear that Fitness World Gym prioritizes financial gains over the well-being of its members. I would strongly caution anyone considering this gym to be wary of their indifferent and unhelpful customer service.
Negative experience: I had very bad experience with this gym. I moved to another province and sent them email to cancel my membership but they don’t respond. No reply on emails and they deduct money from account even renew your membership without your consent. Never give them your credit card details…. They give hard time to cancel the membership. Really bad customer service

They took my credit card details and haven't reimbursed. Don't trust them – your concerns won't be heard! Find a gym with better service and integrity.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the managers attitude tonight my friend is on disability who is struggling we went to make a payment and was met with a higher bill then anticipated I simply asked if he could cut it into 2 payment or help him out in some way to lighter the financial load on him the guy said no which is fine but the way he responds very rudly with aggression I said you know they are alot nicer in langley location he got very aggravated over it demanding my name threatening to kick me out for talking .... because I asked a question and when he replied aggressively and rude all because I said langley location is nicer he got agitated and demanded my name that he will put a note on my account and he wants to kick me out and when I wouldn't give him my name he got more aggressive yelling at me that was a very unreal experience never have I felt so disrespected by some one working in customer service I'll be looking for fitness world corporate number and making a complaint
Negative experience: Unprofessional and unorganised, i keep being over charged and it's not been sorted out. I cancelled my membership three months ago but my card is still being charged. Ive contacted them dozens of times, through calls and emails but the manager Harley never gets back to me. Two months ago he finally got back to me and said he would get it sorted and refund me, but that never happened, so ive tried emailing and calling a bunch of times again but now it been months of him just ignoring me and not sorting this very prolonged issue out.

Positive experience: As somebody who has been to numerous gyms in the lower mainland, I would tell you this isn't the worst gym in the world but it's also not worth your money. For the price you are paying, you could go to any other gym and experience a completely different atmosphere which is more likely to be enjoyable. A lot of patrons are very aggressive and selfish, which somehow left me with an unpleasant feeling as I was finishing my workout. It's not very clean, parking is a hassle, can't find any of the weights where they are supposed to be. Some staff members are quite nice, so if you do find yourself having to go there, at least one pleasant thing will greet you. It's a lukewarm review. Not awful, but like...not amazing either.
Emaelena, first of all, thank you for the feedback. We are constantly trying to improve the members experience here at the gym. I am glad to hear that the staff left a good impression. That being said, we are aware that we have a lot of work to do in order to provide all of our visitors with the best service/ experience possible. I hope that sometime in the future, you make it back into the club and are pleasantly surprised.
Negative experience: This is worst gym i ever visited the central avenue one . The new manager named Harley have too much attitude for no reason. He is more focused at the front desk but he supposed to focus more on water taps as gym has no drinking water facilities and no parking at all. Every time i visit this gym there’s no parking space i park my car on road . Staff is very disrespectful especially new manager Harley.
Sorry you feel that way Brar. I do my very best to navigate the various issues that arise at the gym. Whether its the broken water fountain, that has now been replaced with a brand new "fill station" fountain. Or the problems with parking that we are working on trying to improve. Im sorry if you feel as though I have an attitude, I assure you that I do my very best to be as professional as iI possibly can be.
