Fantastic experience: New to this location and love the environment here, amazing & kind staff! Amongst all the locations i have went to, this is one of my most favourite ones!

Fantastic experience: Pros: value for $15. variation and selection of machines. Friendly staff, respectful members who clean machines after use. Clean facility where you see staff maintaining gym and bathrooms. Gym app crowd meter is good way to judge how busy gym is. No juice pigs, dudes grunting, slamming weights or chicks posing in mirrors for the gram or snap. Cons: membership requires withdrawal from bank account and not visa as primary. some members hoard machines at times, smaller gym than LA or Goodlife (expected) Perspective: I’ve been at various LA fitness and GoodLife locations across GTA. While they are larger than PF and have more machines and weight limits, they don’t compare in price ($15 vs $40+ a month) cleanliness and member etiquette to here.

Negative experience: been trying to call for the last two days in regards to my membership that I need moved to another location. Nobody answers the phone at all to help with something that I know would take only a few minutes. Almost as if nobody works here.

Fantastic experience: Planet Fitness, Bowmanville location is the best gym for beginners or a professional individuals. I would highly rate and recommend.

Fantastic experience: Large gym, very clean facility. Changerooms are clean and roomy. Lots of equipment to use without having to wait for others to be done.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing the staff is so kind and helpful the AGM Evana is amazing and works so hard same with the General Manager Jacob both amazing. The staff like Maddie, Reed, Brandon, Marcus they’re all so amazing they’re so great . Everyone is so friendly.

Negative experience: No longer 24/7

Negative experience: Great until recently, but mediocre at best with recent changes. The gym is no longer open 24/7 but mostly in the daytime. Beware, as the listing and their marketing material claims otherwise. Myself and others were not admitted during the times they were supposed to be open ("we'll close soon") and Planet Fitness did not give a warning when they changed their opening times, nor are they willing to provide a refund. The staff is great, the equipment is decent, and it;s great value for money - but only if you are flexible enough to go when it suits them.

Positive experience: On average Planet Fitness is busy and generally hard to acquire certain machines but the energy and atmosphere as well as customer service are great!

Negative experience: Had to cancel membership because bowmanville location is not 24/7 anymore.

Fantastic experience: I really love this gym. Been here since 2021. The staff are always friendly and it’s always clean both in the work out areas, in the change rooms, and in the black card areas. However, I am peeved they have changed the hours to not be 24/7. I don’t know if it’s a staffing issue or if it was the Planet Fitness board who chose this but this hasn’t helped someone who wants to work out but struggles to come to the gym. I work a manual labour job 9-5 during the week and don’t want to work out after a long day so I normally go on the weekends. I go to the gym at 9pm because I get anxiety about large crowds and when I went to go on Fridays or Saturdays, it’s closed now. I hope this is temporary or I’ll be looking for other gyms which are open 24/7.

Negative experience: Closing at 7 on weekends is absurd. HIRE MORE PEOPLE AND MAYBE WE WOULDN’T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT.

Negative experience: No longer 24/7 which is very upsetting as we are paying the same price as other locations that are 24/7 and frankly that’s practically theft. Takes away peoples gym time that goes in the late evenings/ weekend evening

Fantastic experience: Great gym went before noon it wasn't too crowded, equipment needs a little bit of oil especially the leg press. **Pls don't ask me to tell the team management or front desk, if you say so I'll comeback and give you one star review and tell you why you don't do call them yourself since now you know.

Negative experience: Great gym great equipment and great atmosphere. I do wish the staff would say something to people hogging the machines multiple Mornings I go to work out people hogging leg press or abs machine Barely using it dancing around for two hours it's a bit ridiculous and excessive time to use the machine as a water bottle holder

Fantastic experience: Great place, nice people. Thanks Evana. My regular club is Oshawa and here I come occasionally. It's smaller than Oshawa, but all equipment works, not super busy, moreover all these staffs are super nice, cheerful and create a positive and welcoming environment as needed for a gym.

Positive experience: On the upside, planet fitness gyms for the most part are clean and reasonably priced. On the down side, they are replacing equipment with, what I believe to be, equipment that is not ergonomic. They also take a long time to repair broken equipment. Check out the gym you intend to go to and get a free day pass before signing up.

Negative experience: There's 3 Smith machines get more stop wasting money on more treadmills. People are constantly waiting for weights. Also black mould on the ceiling. Canceled my membership after 2 years the final straw was not accepting cash(for add ons like water or tanning lotion). Cash is a legal canadian currency. The staff is amazing I will say that.

Negative experience: Room #2 Tanning bed Cleanliness has gone downhill and if the face of the buttons is broken, a replacement should just be ordered.. does no one inspect these anymore? I will delete this review when the beds are properly cleaned like before.

Negative experience: Since when did the gym become a daycare? I get that teens want to work out, but last night there was a child must have been under ten swinging and playing on one of the machines. With no parent around. This makes me so mad as people pay good money to have a gym membership and when it’s already busy and waiting to use machines. Now I have to wait for the ten year old to finishing swinging around like a monkey in order to use a machine. I know the black memberships you can bring someone to workout with you. But I think the gym should have an age limit. Must be at least 16 to go. This is not funny as the child could have got hurt the way he was hanging off the machine. Like come on this is a place where people go to get a serious work out done. Not a McDonald’s play place. You should consider having a children workout area if your going to let young children in. Especially if the parents aren’t watching them carefully.

Fantastic experience: Kevin and Jamilla were both super helpful and friendly.

Positive experience: It would be great if you could somehow have a no cell phone rule while on the machines. Way too many times I have had to wait for someone to finish texting or scrolling to use the machine while they just sit there.

Negative experience: The gym is clean tidy and the staff are nice, but they do not man the 30 minute workout area like said on the sign. 5 times in a row my 30 minute workout has been interrupted by someone taking up the machines that aren’t available outside of the area and it’s infuriating every time, might aswell call it a 15 minute workout because you can’t use it all

Positive experience: For a budget friendly gym, and my first experience at Planet Fitness it was great. It had a pretty large and vast amount of equipment to choose from and a nice weights and upstairs section. My only qualm is that the open space to work out with weights or use a mat is tiny and gets pretty full during peak hours. Locker room was small but clean. Friendly front desk too.

Fantastic experience: I just started at the Bowmanville location. The place is very clean, friendly and helpful staff. Lots of bonuses as a black card member and very budget friendly.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, they have everything and are not as busy as the other locations here there is more equipment for everyone not much waiting.

Negative experience: Worked out on the weekend and no staff in the front desk for a good 2 hours. From 2 am to 4 am. As a woman I felt very unsafe. I will never come at this time again. Pls management fix this problem.

Fantastic experience: Clean and decent gym, you have almost everything you need for a solid workout. The management and staff are amazing. I would recommend checking the crowd meter as it does get very crowded in the evenings during the week. Majority or the crowd who come frequently are positive and friendly. It’s a great gym to start your fitness journey at 100%.

Fantastic experience: I went to Planet Fitness Bowmanville and offered to pay for a day pass. I had to be in the area for an extended period and I thought I would put in a workout to pass the time. The young lady at the front desk, I believe her name tag said Brady (sorry if I botched the name as I didn't have my glasses) was very gracious and offered me a day pass to try the facilities. Very pleasant and positive attitude from this young lady, you hired a terrific employee Planet Fitness and if you are smart you will do you best to keep her! Unbelievably polite, professional and helpful! The facility was extremely clean. I felt very comfortable working out there. As someone who has been going to gyms since the 1980s I can say they are stocked to the hilt with very up to date equipment. They have multiples of frequently used equipment to minimize the wait time for machines. Very well thought out. I would join this gym in a heartbeat if I lived close by. Just and all round excellent experience.

Fantastic experience: Great environment. Very clean. Nice staff! A lot of equipment could use more free weights and benches, though. Great perks, great gym!

Negative experience: Editing this. It's getting worse. The evening is terrible. I've been waiting 30 minutes just to get on a bench. Every single piece of equipment is being used that I need. Frustrated. Not there a group of 5 sitting on the dip machine while dad show everyone "how's it done" Sigh.

Positive experience: Waiting for them to get new equipment. Overall clean and lovely staff

Negative experience: legs workout equipments/machines are very few. The crowd is f’all (not good) specially the teenagers ruining the gym ambience. Rather pay more than go to goodlife fitness. Always crowded. Pepole will stare and stare until you give them the machine which you are using.

Fantastic experience: The staff are great, the fees are excellent, and the gym is very well kept.

Negative experience: Been trying to contact someone at this gym for 3 months because I am pregnant and can not go in to cancel my membership. They have not answered. They pull out the payment every week and claim they don’t. Horrible customer service.

Fantastic experience: Got the trial pass after passing the awesome colours on the equipment enough times, the dude was awesome helpful and made my first time fears go away, the place is well staffed, very tidy and welcoming will definitely come back soon when I can stay longer

Positive experience: The place is very clean. Machine are brand new. I don't like the customer service.... They aren't polite and they ignore you. The representatives didn't even acknowledge me a paying customer until they were done chatting each other the front desk. Besides that I had a good workout

Negative experience: Why can't I pay for a year up front. Frocing me to use direct deposit is ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: Convenient location with lots of parking. Pretty decent atmosphere, especially for a newcomer. Decent selection of machines and equipment. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Fantastic experience: It’s been two weeks here being a member. Staff is really helpful over here specially Jamie. Also it’s really clean and not crowded at all at night. Would definitely recommend for beginners.

Positive experience: Cheap but it shows if you're looking for variety of equipment beyond 100 pieces of cardio equipment. No squat racks, no bench press, very little core equipment. Also the gym is absolutely flooded with groups of kids in the early evenings.

Negative experience: My review is based on previously working at this location, as well as using this gym for one year. Pros: - This gym is 4/5 for being clean. - Lacks some strength equipment 3/5, but has 5/5 for a lot of cardio equipment. - The temperature is kept fairly cool and comfortable. - Gym is staffed 24/7. Cons: - Equipment is fairly modern, however definitely not as new as PF in Oshawa which even tracks your repetitions and has fans on treadmills (for example) also, equipment tends to break down too often and takes forever to be repaired. 3/5 - The accessibility washroom door has been broken for over a year, and the company has warned the owner and yet they don’t care enough to fix this. The owner and PF DONT follow Ontario accessibility laws and fix this. - The employees are not trained other than absolute basics. We were told to have potential clients sign up online. Also, cancellations more often than not were done by managers and only a couple regular staff members and I saw many people frustrated at the extreme lack of knowledge staff had. - The employees are more or less “the help” or better known as the “cleaning service”. We were/are disrespected. The disfunction effects the level of service clients get at this gym. Overall, the manager is very incompetent and should not be doing that job, the staff are not knowledgeable (no fault of their own), and updating is needed on the equipment at the gym. It would not hurt to remove some of the cardio equipment and invest more in strength training equipment like other PF locations in Durham. This gym could be a lot better with a better location manager and some investment.

Fantastic experience: This club is the so well cared for! The staff are so on top of cleaning that it always feels fresh! Very well managed and the staff are great. 5/5 STARTS!! I love working out here!

Negative experience: Gym is very limited on equipment. A beginner's gym at best. Albeit clean and staffed well and if I was a novice or someone just looking to get more fit from living an inactive and sedentary lifestyle I'd look no further but for the rest of us, fitness enthusiasts, this is not your gym. Not even close.

Positive experience: This gym is clean, has all the basics and is staffed by friendly competent people. The price point is amazing. Down side is that it’s too small for its clientele. Not enough room in the free weight area. Not enough areas for additional mirrors and free use spaces. I don’t even bother going during the busiest time anymore because there no access to what I need, which limits my membership

Fantastic experience: Great spot for any level gym goer. Gym doesn't have any heavy free weights, so if you're a serious gym rat, it might not be your cup of tea, but a general assortment is decent. 3 Smith machines, free weight area with benches/adjustable benches, machines for every body part( except a shoulder fly), a circuit area, a stretch area, as well as any kind of cardio machine thing you can find with TV's that can hook up to your headphones(so boredom is out), gym also offers classes and intro sessions, but I've so far skipped these. The only thing I'd love to have is a good ol' sauna after a workout.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. I've always felt comfortable here, I like the atmosphere, it's very clean and they have a great assortment of equipment. I also really enjoy all the extras, like the tanning beds, massage water beds, infrared and massage chairs. I love that you're not stuck in a contract with them, and if I'd like to, I can bring someone with me at no extra charge, any time I go. I live in Bethany so I go to both the Lindsay & Bowmanville locations. I think Planet Fitness would do really well with a location in Peterborough!!

Positive experience: I think everyone is friendly and the place is kept clean! However, I’ve seen way bigger Planet Fitness gyms. The 30 min section is barely used & a lot of cardio machines are barely used yet the free weight section is super small & overcrowded. They don't have prone hamstring curl machine, no incline leg press, they only have Smith machines, no chest press or squatting stations like other PF. Since this Bowmanville area is growing and Planet Fitness membership is growing they really should look into expanding into a larger location and improving weight areas!

Negative experience: Closed for a week over Christmas with no explanation. Club is supposed to be open 24-7. Closed due to snow a week ago and won’t reopen, it’s two days after Christmas and still shut. Won’t post updated hours.

Positive experience: The staff are nice, and the gym is kept relatively clean. However, I chose this gym because they were suppose to be open all the time. Went today to work out. And they were closed. Couldn’t get in. Would it be difficult to have one person working the gym on holidays? I had to pay what I would normally pay in a month for a day pass at Fit4Less at the Bowmanville Mall, at least they were open. One of the reasons I joined this gym was because I was told I could sign up for training classes because I’m new to fitness and I don’t know what I’m doing most of the time. Shortly after I joined this location stopped offering classes.

Fantastic experience: It's a wonderful space, very motivating to go into, with all of its wonderful quotes all around. Well kept, excellent staff. Always a good workout when I'm there. Easy to zone in and focus on the workout with the way the space is set up. Really appreciate it.

Positive experience: Have tried out this gym twice over the last few years on a free pass. Gave the gym 3/5 stars because although I am sure it's great for some people it's not designed to fit everyone's workout plan. If you love doing just cardio and a few machines then it should be fine for you. If your more into free weights then definitely far from the best choice. The free weight area is smaller with only 3 benches in front of the mirrors so it can be harder to get one. The benches themselves are smaller and more uncomfortable then others I have used. The dumbbells only go up to 75lbs which is a limiting factor for me and probably some other people. The barbell/EZ curl bars are super limited with only 4-5 of each and the max weight 60lbs is really low. If you like to do any sort of farmers walk or lunges with weights there is not much space or a dedicated floor area for anything like that. There is no stand alone bench press stations only smith machines. Both times I went, there was no one using the 30 min workout area which seems like a wasted space and could be much better used. If your new to working out/novice or don't care to much about free weights then for the prices it's hard to beat. Personally for me since I have goals in the gym that this gym won't allow me to continue to reach it's not for me. Most of the machines and equipment are also not very ergonomical to use and just feels plain weird and I don't feel you get the best use of them that way.

Positive experience: Basic gym, they dont even have a bencpress bench, they have three smith machines that others uses for all kinds of things. They have a tone of cardio machines that no one uses.

Positive experience: The gym is great, equipment is great, staff is great... HOWEVER; they have this new stupid offer that high school students are free now? So now the place is always overrun with annoying loud highschool kids, who aren't there for a serious work out and just goofing around with their friends and hogging all the space and equipment. Was working out on a machine and the group of high school kids hovering around the equipment beside me were goofing off and pushing each other and the kid almost fell into me on my machine. Spoke to others about this, and apparently I'm not the only one bothered by this. People said they've sent out complains regarding this issue to management. I will also do the same.

Fantastic experience: Good gym, good services, good policies. Kylie's a great trainer. I moved so I had to stop going unfortunately. The cancelation was easy and just a matter of signing one form and you're done and they don't bill you anymore. Not like some gyms that force you to pay the next month. No freeweights but I didn't use those anyways.

Positive experience: 3 stars. Staff is great. Just short on equipment and overcrowded all the time

Fantastic experience: Love the staff and members. Massage chairs are outstanding. End of the week treat. I love this place!

Negative experience: **Edit** this gym is not adequate at all, instead it’s complete trash. The facility and equipment is disgusting, tanning beds look like they haven’t been cleaned since 2019, change rooms are filthy, and the hours are now reduced to next to nothing. This pathetic excuse for a gym won’t be open much longer lol. Adequate gym if you’re new to working out or only looking for the basics. However if you’re even remotely experienced or actually have any type of training routine, then this is not the gym for you. It’s missing a lot of the basic pieces of equipment that any place should have. Not one barbell, not one squat rack, dumbells that only go up to 70lbs, and only one set of cables. Also, the crowds of high school kids that are just there to hang out make training here incredibly frustrating.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy this gym over Fit4Less. It just needs more free weight space. Also, the express area seems to be always empty… could be used for guests regularly! The staff is always welcoming and friendly.

Negative experience: Joined the gym I asked for a water said it was $2.00, which was confirmed with the sign on the fridge, said charge it to my account…. Looked at my statement said $2.50, so today I asked the front desk the price he said with my membership it’s $2.50 I responded the sign said $2 and the person at the front desk said 2 as well….he said it’s out of date for a while . I said well then take Down the sign he said the manager doesn’t want us to. So their knowingly lying to people…. It’s not about the money it’s about principle I will not rest until the sign is removed and my 50 cents is returned

Negative experience: Moved from LA Fitness Toronto for almost 6years to Planet Fitness Bowmanville. Gym is nice and their manager is great and friendly. Comparing to my old Gym i don't like the fact that there are no separate sanitization bottles for every person entering in the gym. When i complained about it and wanted to put a feed back i was told by the front desk girl if there are 100 people in the gym doesn't mean we get 100 bottles for everyone. I was really disappointed and surprised with the reply i got for my concern and when asked they dont let you bring your own.They have hired all those young kids where some of them are not well trained and don't know how to behave with their customers. Another concern is there are no elliptical machines on the top floor ,wish they move some of them. I will still continue with the gym till i find better option for me.

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere and very clean! Very friendly staff! Especially Emma, she is an excellent trainer who truly knows what she is doing! She creates amazing workout plans that not only work but are fun and enjoyable! If you are ever looking to train I would definitely recommend Emma, she is the sweetest and has a great amount of knowledge on what workouts best work for you!

Negative experience: The good: The staff are nice, it’s open 24/7, there’s lot of parking, it’s relatively clean. The bad: there’s no sauna or steam room, no pool, very little free weights, it’s almost always very busy (due to lack of gym options in bowmanville), music is sometimes too loud, sometimes there are kids running around and playing with equipment. I’ve always used good life or LA fitness prior to moving to Bowmanville. Overall the gym is okay, I just wish there were better options nearby that were more expensive so it would have more amenities and be less busy.

Fantastic experience: Bowmanville location is great! Friendly staff to help out at the counter. Staffed 24hrs., lots of equipment to use. Small free weight section but just the right size. As well a quick 30 minute full workout section that times you when to rest. Using the Planet Fitness app is easy to use and provides a lot of information such as how each piece of equipment works as well how to stretch, even a live crowd meter to let you know how busy the centre is.

Negative experience: I have wore sandals several times to this gym and this one time the manager told me to leave and gas is very pricy. I expected a warning for next time nut not for me to be kicked out BOOOOOOOOOO
