Negative experience: Pool and hot tub are disgusting and never get cleaned. Locker rooms are always dirty and gross. When equipment is broken and it’s broken often it takes forever to get fixed. A lot of the pads on equipment are torn and ripped and never get replaced.

Negative experience: This place is getting dirtier each year, and the customer service is very poor (only good when signing you up), the staff lack professionalism, which I attribute to the management; they can make improvements but seem uninterested, likely sharing the same mindset as the people they hire.

Negative experience: I’ve been a loyal member for four years, and I’m deeply disappointed by the recent change in your closing hours. As someone who works until 8:00 PM, I’ve always appreciated the ability to stay later, but now with the new hours, that option is no longer available. I suggest looking at member activity past 10:00 PM, not just check-ins, to see how many of us rely on that extra time. Many of your members, myself included, are now considering switching to GoodLife. At $105 a week, the extra hour at the front desk seems like a small cost for retaining multiple memberships. it’s disappointing to see that the needs of dedicated members aren’t being fully considered. I hope this feedback is taken into account, as it affects myself and many others.

Negative experience: I’m a swimming guy so was excited to go to the pool. 3 separate drop ins and each time it was absolutely disgusting. Not just dirty, but unusable unless you want to get a staph infection. Pool has visible dirt, hot tub also dirty but has foam on it. Foam is a sign of a poorly treated hot tub, body oils and cells cause hot tubs to foam. This is truly sad because if they kept it clean, it would be great, the pool itself is decent. For shame.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy this gym. I am an active senior, I was looking for more of a challenge than I was getting from my community center classes, and a friend recommended LA fitness. I started in May and take about three classes a week. My instructors are the best! *Bertha for Zumba and Yoga. *Orlinda for Aquafit *Donato for Zumba * Kelly for Body works. These instructors are amazing. They are friendly, upbeat, give you the attention you need and know their stuff.The front desk staff are nice also. I definitely recommend this place.

Negative experience: Robots work out there, staff doesn’t even greets the members. Felt racism from some members there. Cannot recommend to other people. Floor is always dirty, i found hair hanging with dumble.

Negative experience: I don’t know the name of the sales rep that I dealt with but he was disrespectful and rude. If you frown on free passes, then please discuss the issue with the company and stop inconveniencing customers. Don’t question my use of the free pass, if I was planning to buy a membership, it wouldn’t have been today because of the poor quality of customer service.

Negative experience: Avoid unless your ok with not cancelling over phone if anything shall happen! Also They can start by Actually telling people what they are signing up for. There's no trial periods also you have to go in Person to try cancel. N It's so deceptive oh do not sign up for training unless your willing to go in a few times a week at an hr at a time. apparently what I am paying for without me wanting that!! I was told I can give it a try if you don't use it you don't pay for it and now been stuck paying off a $250/ month training fee I never used cause I injured my knee in June and the staff were so unprofessional to try talk to! Vp aaron of the Edmonton distract won't send me a copy of the contract I apparently signed! I would like to deal with this legally and the person I signed up with quit. I wouldn't even rate this one star also the change room was overcrowded and filthy when I went in to use the gym one time! Been stuck paying off for gym use and training since may now sept! With no possible refund Complete bs!

Negative experience: Recently moved to this area and have been looking for a gym since. Despite the bad reviews on google, I decided to have a look at this place myself. The front desk service wasn't the best, staffs obviously lacked the basics of customer service but I don't blame them since I have worked minimum wage jobs before. I was trying to get a one-time pass but was told they didn't have any left at the moment(???). He said I can apply for a free pass through the website but it will take a couple days to process so if I want to use the gym now I would have to pay a one time fee or join the membership. So I just left. I then went to another gym 5 mins drive away and got in with a free-trail pass. one star for the service another for the sales pitch

Negative experience: worst sales people ever, and scummy tactics, currently looking for a gym so I wanted to try this one out, before driving all the way west, I called and ask if I was able to try out the gym, girl on the phone said absolutely and to come in, right upon arrival she takes me right to her desk pretty much saying either buy a membership or pay a 20$ drop on fee, which she never mentioned over the phone, definitely wont be the gym I go to, even tho I did the trial pass online and called ahead of time to make sure I can come in, they still somehow managed to try and use scummy tactics to get me into a membership, waste of time.

Fantastic experience: Shout out to Donato - his Zumba class is the best! You got to try his class, you’ll have a fun time and have a good sweat while working out. What more can you ask for!!! Positive experience: It's a good gym. That's what makes it. The staff are sometimes hit and miss. I've been going here for years and don't have much to complain about. I'll be moving away this month so my time with LA has come to an end so I figured it was time to leave a review. Don't waste your time with any of their personal trainers tho (personal opinion)

Fantastic experience: Overall this LA fitness gym was fantastic, the helpful staff are amazing such a Zach for helping me book racquetball courts and Jennifer at the front desk being so kind and welcoming. The gym and weights itself are all in good working condition and clean. I am very impressed and actually feel safe walking without shoes in the bathrooms/change rooms because they are very clean. The pool and sauna are awesome as they are both great temperature. I love how LA fitness is not just a gym but also have courts, as I love to play racquetball and it is super easy to book a court as they are not too busy. I would recommend this gym to any person as the staff are very welcoming and the gym is not intimidating or overwhelming at all.

Negative experience: I just moved to the west end and went into the west location to try out their gym for the first time. They denied me a free trail and said it was a 20$ drop in. Never had this happen before, customer service was brutal.

Negative experience: I have been silent since September. I'm already tired of it. turn on the fresh air, the room is not ventilated at all! The exercise equipment and the floor are washed with one dirty rag. The cleaning lady does not change the water and rags. The carpet stinks - do night cleaning. wash the lockers in the locker rooms - every day!!! stop letting people wear shoes into the viewing pool!! replace those fabric shower curtains - it's not hygienic. wash all the walls (toilet, showers) - you need to wash them every day. wash the lamps in the showers, I’ve been doing this for almost a year - no one touched them, it’s like someone vomited on them. install a modern napkin dispenser, what is this in the 2000s??? make new soap machines!!! There is never soap or napkins. put notices that people should not dry clothes and sneakers in the steam room and should not go there in clothes and shoes after the gym! Are you people savages? I won't add these nasty dirty photos for now! I hope management does something! and in the same way, managers and coaches should not sit on tables and put their shoes and feet on the tables. What are you people? We're not in the forest.

Negative experience: I am not one to write reviews, however, the appalling client relationship management by Jaide at this gym demands a 1 star. I was convinced to put a pause on my account in August of 2023 after temporarily moving to a different city. I come to realize that I was being charged the entire time I was on 'pause' with my membership. I called in February (multiple times) and finally got a hold of their management who assured my that I would then have my membership cancelled. Fast forward to April and I realize that they were still charging me the whole time. I call again (multiple times) with no follow up, they state that they left a voicemail however I have no evidence of such. I bring up the fact that they were supposed to refund me and cancel my account in February-- However, Jaide, states that she does not remember the conversation. I am obviously frustrated as I have been penalized due to the disorganization of membership and client relationship by this gym.

Positive experience: You get access to quite a bit of stuff for your monthly payment. Solid assortment of weights and cardio equipment. Basketball court. Swimming pool. Sauna, Classes. My biggest complaint is how gross the equipment gets. It's a large gym and there are only 4 paper towel/cleaner dispensers. I don't see many people cleaning their equipment after use. I sometimes go to use a bench and their is sweat dripping down it.

Negative experience: This LA Fitness club has kid's swimming club program. As an adult only club it doesn't have family change room, so kids have designated changing tents set up inside pool. In practice, however they are using male and female changing rooms. Mothers will bring their boys to the ladies room and fathers will bring girls to the men's room. This leaves them watch club members change their clothes and take showers fully exposed to the kids age 2 to 13 which is not just uncomfortable but indecent and morally disturbing. Also you can't swimm in a pool and relax in a hot tub, because it's full of parents and screaming kis. We are complaining, but no one does anything. Will strongly not recommend this club.

Positive experience: Special recognition for Analym, weekday morning janitor. The women's locker room is kept clean especially in the mornings with Analym who is the weekday morning janitor. This gym opens at 5am on weekdays and Analym ensures that her first priority is the cleanliness of the women's locker room. I also want to note that Jen who is the front desk attendant is so friendly in the mornings, she takes her time to ensure to say "good morning" to all members. Thank you Jen and Analym for making the early mornings better.

Negative experience: Ooof. So we have many paying friends who wanted play some racquetball for 1hr bringing a few of us first timers in. We were given the 7day trial friend pass link to try it out. The LA Fitness website is not working properly for the guest passes so we decided to ask the front desk which got passed onto Aaron, the manager/owner (so he seems) on how it works. Since he somewhat tried to approach for us a membership when we first walked in and we weren’t ready for a commitment. He was annoyed there were 3 of us wanted to use the guest pass and play with the rest of our group. He flat out decided to lie as he didn’t want to honor it. And I quote “I can’t have all 3 of you guys going in without paying.” I thought that was the whole point of guest passes?? So I asked him why. He first said because it’s a holiday and it’s a busy. When it’s less than 25% full on Dec 31. Then I asked if the passes had blackout dates like hotels and he said yes exactly. However, he couldn’t give me an answer when I asked him where can I find the blackout dates and decided to say its in the terms and conditions after thinking about it a few minutes. That’s a flat out lie as we spoke to other locations regarding this and no such a thing. This goes to the ethic of this owner/manager. He is willing to cheat lie because he personally doesn’t like or feel like doing something. I wouldn’t trust him to do any business with this guy and certainly not sign a membership with him as many have already mentioned his shadiness. However, I’d like to mention the girl at the front desk was sweet and unfortunately her and others who put hard work into this business are ruined because this owner/manager’s unprofessionalism and childishness. I am certainly very disappointed with this experience as I want to ask LA Fitness, why do you offer these passes if you don’t plan on honoring it?

Negative experience: Aaron is unprofessional and kinda ridiculous. It's new year's eve, there is 3 of us meeting friends for court sports. Drop in fee is $20 which is pretty pricey compared to other gyms. A friend that holds a membership proceeds to give us his vip link for a 7 day membership. Their website is not working properly and Aaron proceeds to tell us he can't be giving out memberships to 3 ppl just like that when it's busy. And that the free trial membership is only for paying customers lol ? No one is using the courts except the ppl we were invited by and the gym is only 25% full. No line up no nothing. I suggest LA fitness to fix the bugs on their sign up site. And highly suggest to coach Aaron on how to properly handle any guests and understand free trail memberships aren't to be paid for. Our friends pay for the membership to have these vip offers and to treat someone like that is beyond me. Aside from it being not busy and some sort of black out dates for him not to be able to help register us, he still lied and clearly didn't know the process. More focused on being a gym rat then to help others unless it's beneficial to him. I did receive a call from the north side location and their manager was outstanding. Might have saved me as a guest (potential customer). Advised me that their site is definitely known to have issues with sign up and that's why he called me right away to help. Told me it typically takes about 24 hours to register the pass online and that was why he wanted to give me all call to have it signed up. If we were advised this, we would have been completely fine with that. There is No black out dates. Told him why I was so put off and he was very very apologetic for the west side location and offered to host us complimentary so we could play with our friends that holds a membership. Now thats customer service. Aaron is literally a joke and should not represent LA fitness all. The disrespect and his attitude clearly showed when we found he was part of the sales team. I guess no sale = no respect in his books. Take notes from the north side location.

Positive experience: Very good gym. The only problem is that they have children's swimming classes all afternoon every day. It's really not fun to use the remaining pool lanes with noise and messy children, parents and instructors. The use of the pool is pretty much restricted to the mornings.

Fantastic experience: This review is specific to my trainer Jon R. I had already worked with a couple of other trainers (one being from this gym before Jon took over) and I cannot praise his work ethic enough! Right from day1 with him I had a completely different experience than from any others. For one, he did a fitness assessment on me which I hadn't had done before, recorded all my measurements before we even started, emailed me a workout plan for when I was in the gym alone, and followed up with me when I had an event which kept me away from training for longer than it should have. He also pushed me to try things which hadn't been offered previously and left me feeling like I can absolutely strive for further advancements in health and fitness. I accomplished goals in 5 weeks with him that weren't attainable after MONTHS with other trainers, plus he was personable and I looked forward to getting in sessions due to that. Seriously excellent at what he does, I couldn't be happier about my experience with him - this guy deserves a raise!!!

Positive experience: Friendly staff. I go early after they've just cleaned and polished up the place, so everything is pretty tidy. Only minor complaint is a lot of their cardio machines have the ability to pipe in television, but on like 80% of the machines this feature is broken.

Negative experience: Only have a membership because it’s close. Staff aren’t welcoming. Nobody ever says hello or goodbye. Not approachable. Noticed today that there is maintenance on the pool every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1030-12pm.. I wish they would consider STARTING at 12PM so that us parents who use the Child Care (from 9-12pm) can take advantage of the pool until 12pm. Guess not though. Doesn’t even give enough time to have a decent workout and then relax in the Hot Tub afterwards. Should modify the hours.

Negative experience: Good gym .... but horrible staff you'll probably hear alot of that on these reviews cuz the Facility Itself is good with the pool in the sauna in the hot tub but the people are just not good at there jobs... I asked then to stop calling me for there fit test... I fine I can workout on my own with out some young kid telling me that I'm not doing right lol... I'll be ok!. There's a hole story to go with this but who care right! Just don't have high expectations that's all oh and it's has the highest rates in the city next to the YMCA

Positive experience: Equipment is always broken and unusable, and they just tag it and never get it fixed. Been waiting for the lat pull down machine to be fixed for over 2 months. Even the water fountain is broken. Nice staff tho and the place is always clean.

Negative experience: My friends and I walked in to the West LA Fitness with a day pass that i’ve applied for online with hopes to try out the facility and potentially sign up as we have been curious and interested for a long time. We eagerly came in excited to use the day pass when one of the staff members, i believe with the name of Eric, he’s a sales man who was extremely vile and consescneding told us to either pay a drop in fee or to leave the facility and that we are not welcome and to not come back. We were shocked and confused as to why we were being treated this way when all we wanted to do was claim our free day pass and potentially join and become a member of this facility after trying it out. We will for sure never return due to this bad customer service experience and we are still confused as to what we had done wrong. The way we had felt was hurt, confused and embarassed. Never again and will not recommend this location to anyone and they have for sure lost potential members who were eager to start at LA fitness.

Negative experience: The set up of the gym is great, the staff however. Hot garbage. Every time I come in they are either texting at the front desk, chewing with their mouth open and chatting. Not welcoming and horrible! Beyond terrible service for a gym. Wanted to cancel my membership but wouldn’t cause “ the manager was not there” but had no issues setting people up. This gym is a joke. I’d rather go back to good life, pay more for my membership, but get better customer service

Fantastic experience: Love this gym!! This gym is great for people who have been working out for a while and need more machines to push themselves. It’s also super beginner friendly! My parents love it there especially since the machines are so straightforward and easy to use. Great variety of machines!! More than any of the other gyms I’ve been to. My kids also love Kids Klub here, apparently there’s so many toys and friends. The staff is great, the managers are really helpful. Overall it’s a great gym for everyone and it’s so welcoming

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this gym for over a year and every day the front desk staff are welcoming and extremely helpful. The cleaning staff are always respectful and do an amazing job to keep the gym clean! When there is a broken machine lafitness usually works on it right away and gets the equipment fixed promptly within that week. I really enjoy this gym and all the facilities they have with it ! I definitely would recommend coming here !

Negative experience: This gym has a whole host of issues not to mention they still have problems understanding how a clock works. I only still use this place due to convenience and the lack that purple & yellow, but they do keep respectful hours of operation. Equipment is poorly maintained, they finally get something repaired and it breaks again a week later, they do keep the dumbbells in good repair though. There are quite a few issues at this place and I’m sure they have better locations.

Negative experience: I signed up it cost me 200$ something and the other day they cut 69$ so I went to this place to ask about it but the lady only took my number and name and said the manager will call me in the next morning but nope! Was waiting but no call. And when I check my account this coming 24th they gonna charged me again like 45$ something it said. So I want to cancel my membership because it’s sin nobody wants to help and explain why the charged too much.

Negative experience: One of the group fitness instructor is SUPER RUDE. She must have forgot that everyone in this gym paid to use this facility. Least you could do is inform me nicely that you have class soon, YOU DON'T HAVE T BE RUDE AND SARCASTIC. Not everyone have time to check if there's a class going on. Negative experience: I canceled my personal training with with this LA Fitness and they billed me an extra month in January 2023. They still have not returned the money, the money was taken without my consent!! They only have one decent personal trainer, I've been ghosted by two of their personal trainers, and their trainers were bad for showing up late as well. They have a decent variety of equipment though.

Negative experience: Where to begin……I’ve brought up to the front desk numerous times how dirty the floor in the main weight area is as well the stretching area where the mats are they are constantly covered in hair and are never cleaned. There has been equipment out of service for weeks on end. I’ve even fixed some the equipment myself by hand tightening screws and what not. If I could post pictures of the state the bathroom/change areas are consistently in I would. The soap dispensers never have soap in them, a person can’t even wash their hands properly. I and I’m sure other members would like a discount on our monthly membership since we are paying full price for a membership. I would appreciate if we had full use of the facility. But since we only have partial use of the facility I would expect to pay only partially for my membership each month. I hope these issues get resolved asap or I may have to go to a different gym!

Negative experience: Joined the club 9/5/2021. Worked out numerous times in all three Edmonton locations. Maintenance and cleanliness are by far not a number one priority for management at any location. Hot tubs and Sauna's are constantly down, the West Edmonton location the worst of all locations for maintenance and cleanliness. If you are looking for cold Hot Tubs after your work out, and Saunas in operation 50 percent of the time, sign up at LA Fitness. They do have a decent selection of equipment, but if something goes down expected it down for months on end. If you decide to sing up, make sure you have extra socks and a pair of sandals for your visit. The staff would rather sit on their phones and chat about their day, then pick up a mop and keep the front entrance clean. For all of those who remember what it was like to cancel a Club Fit membership, well LA Fitness is much of the same. I give one star based on equipment. If Corporate evaluates reviews, I would suggest some management changes in your Edmonton facilities.

Negative experience: I signed up for personal training sessions being told it was a 1 hour session for $70. Later, I found out that the personal trainer actually only teaches you for 25 minutes, and the rest of the “one hour” “training” session is “by yourself”. I was easily able to find 30 min personal training sessions for $40 elsewhere, but now I am stuck paying $70 for one session per week for 6 months, costing me an extra $120 a month, which made me cry. Not a good value, and shady sales tactics. In addition, the person who did my “free personal training session” (which was an hour long) also made it seem like he would be my trainer, but this was not the case. The content of the training I am receiving is not the same as what was explained to me during the free session. Management didn’t care that I felt lied to and cheated. Whenever I have to talk to them about something, they give me the phone run-around for several days. They “don’t use emails” in this day and age. They promise call-backs but rarely call back, or say they called back, but there is no message nor missed call. Several times, I was promised a call back from a “fitness VP” to talk about my complaint, but this has not occurred. I was feeling good about joining this gym before, now I want to quit as soon as possible

Negative experience: Good facility and reasonable membership price. However, if you are looking for a trainer, they will tell you pricing, then you sign up, and the price will double with a 6-12 month commitment with a trainer you get to meet after you pay. I called around and could not find anywhere charging over 50% of L.A. Fitness and went with a month by month trainer elsewhere.

Positive experience: Overall I like this gym. We've been coming for years. 3 stars is for the clear lack of pride and accountability for a safe and clean gym. There are signs everywhere that advise to remove dirty footwear before entering the gym. The staff blatantly ignore patrons who can't follow this simple request resulting in dirty, muddy floors for everyone. The other safety concern is broken machines. Machines that have been broken prior to 2020. Management can do better.

Fantastic experience: Just transferred from my old gym. I scheduled an appointment with Tristen, his knowledge towards fitness was very impressive. His professional and positive attitude made the experience viewing the gym comfortable. Definitely recommend sitting down with him if you’re looking for somebody that values self growth and is passionate about the industry.

Negative experience: Kind of frustrated with the place they have bags hanging in a very large room, but the room is used for Zumba from 6 to 8 so if you want to go hit those bags that are hanging there not being used (and I do) well to bad you gotta wait till 8. Very frustrating!

Negative experience: Its ok. Cheapest that ive seen, but they only have 3 squat racks that are always full during peak hours but have half the building filled with cardio that doesnt get used. Swap a bunch of those out for more squat racks/bench press stations and then the rating goes up

Negative experience: Clean, decent equipment, a lot of amenities but I only use 1/4 of them, yearly maintanence fee comes out after only 2 weeks which is wild that they charge that early - I really doubt you'll put a dent in the yearly wear and tear of the gym if you're only there for a couple months (most gyms charge 3-8 months in), only one black foam roller, only 3 squat racks in such a huge gym, some front staff are great, some stare at their phone when you need help, hot tub seems to be out of order half the week every week, wish there was more sanitizing spray bottles around the gym for convenience and to actually sanitize the equipment better than just a damp papertowel you push foam onto, staff seems to ignore the 16 year olds loudly grunting and dropping weights, salesperson said he was basically the only sales person there (he's definately not) and originally told me the gym was open longer hours than they actually are, he offered me a free week when I came to check it out at first then when I came to sign up 3 weeks later and asked for the free week he said they don't do that. Skeevy as s**t. Thinking of switching the Fitness 4 Less, pretty close distance from this one, open 24 hours, massage chairs, tanning... depending one what you need in a gym it might be a good fit for you, personally, not the best for me. The members here are awesome though. Very kind and welcoming. Gym family is one of my favourite parts of the gym.

Negative experience: Nice place but …Want to get trained on the weekend in the morning when it’s a good time for many? Can’t, bcuz no trainers work on the weekend before 1pm. (Andrew Jewer at least trained me for a couple months in the morning but after that all trainers didn’t train before noon. What kind of gym doesnt have trainers WHO WANT TO TRAIN before noon for their CUSTOMERs/CLIENT. But they are there for you during the week when you’re at work. Also if they pressure you into a membership just tell him NO and GET UP AND GO WORK OUT . Byeee

Positive experience: Cheap-ish gym. It’s alright, feels judgy there and the hot tub is always broken. Specifically choose La fitness for the aquatic access but can’t ever use them.

Negative experience: My husband and I realized someone was watching us all the time when we were there, the reason was because they thought my daughter was training us… just because she’s a PT. Breaking the privacy rule for sure ! This is considered a kind of harassment !! Do you know people, thousands don’t attend the gym because they are shy? Because they feel vulnerable? Well, this was out of management’s mind for sure ! Terrible upset ! An even when I went to cancel my membership they told me no reimburse is effective if I do not cancel five days before the due date... People is not about the money only. Is about your job....!!! Are you considering your clientelle.... no. Totally not. Where is the respect ?

Negative experience: Awful experience, I cancelled my membership 1 day before my first month of membership. And I paid 1 month in advance and now LA fitness charged me for the 3rd month and an annual fee. I paid 200 plus just for a month of membership. I talked to Jeff the manager and I can’t even get my money back for my 3rd month.

Fantastic experience: Great LA fitness. Deserves at least a 4.3. These ppl who rate low don’t understand how hard it is to run an LA Fi tness and have no comparisons. I’ve been to hundreds of gyms including many la fitnesses. Very clean. Great mixed crowd. Great set up. San Diego ones are the best tho. Even better set up, cleaner and extremely hot women. Unfortunately, I’ve been spoiled.

Fantastic experience: One of the Best gyms across Canada, as I was traveling I made a week stop in Edmonton, the staff was friendly, well dressed and so helpful!!! The establishment was clean and very well kept ! The most impressive part was the Free week ! I would have paid ,but they welcomed me for a free week !the gym had so many options, loads of machines (lost count) and tons of free weights, don't forget about the absolutely large pool !WOW ! I WISH MANITOBA HAD AN LA FITNESS ! I WILL SEE U AGAIN NEXT YEAR ! THANK YOU TO THE GREAT STAFF !!!! WOW !!

Negative experience: Often times equipment is broken and doesn’t get fixed for weeks. Only have one V bar in the entire gym. School boys roam around shirtless past 8pm, management doesn’t seem to care. I wonder when they’ll revert back to being open 24/7 since Covid is over?

Fantastic experience: We went to LA Express using a "free one-week trial coupon" (we picked up at MyFries) while visiting Edmonton. My daughter and I went for the pool. There was a very large amount of workout equipment. The entire place was clean, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful. 10/10 would recommend!

Positive experience: I had a great experience at the center with trainer Sam. I have been with the LA fitness more than 2 years and I was not be able to book a trainer. Sam was kind enough to invite me for one hour session to show me how to work with equipments. He was not only great and excellent to explain all the equipment process , but was also very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does.

Positive experience: So far I like this place. This past Wednesday tho, the hot tub wasn't working very well, I called the front desk and they said they'd let maintenance people know. They never came. This place doesn't have the hydra beds or the red light therapy for the price they charge a month, it should ha e all these amenities

Negative experience: Maintenance is a joke. Would show photos of the steam room after repairs. But it’s to embarrassing. It’s like they hired teens that had a year of shop class. Warm water in the drink fountains.

Negative experience: awful experience. I got told i would be able to cancel my personal trainer at any time but when I went to cancel they told me I signed to keep paying for 1 year. Every time I go in to talk about canceling my membership and personal trainer sessions they tell me that they're busy as I watch them on their phone. As im paying 250 per month for a personal trainer I have not received a single session in over 2 weeks... There are better quality gyms and better service at literally any other gym but this one.

Negative experience: Gym is decently large, spacious and clean. The staff however.. The manager here is not exactly a warm welcoming individual. She has the need to invalidate your questions or concerns by simply repeating, “I’m the manager” like it’s a valid response. The trainers seem to have their bare minimum education which was disappointing as not all individuals feel the need to traditional body build. The fitness manger is friendly, however he has the same type of attitude if you have a question or concern. Just invalidates and offers no alternatives, compensations to concerns/ complaints. Lastly, their assessment style is extremely disheartening and insulting to clients. (Speaking from experience). Your activity and fitness level is based off of “how many pull ups you can do”, “perform step ups for 1min” or “do TRX pikes”. Completely inaccurate, insulting and unacceptable way to determine one’s fitness levels.

Positive experience: If you're looking for a gym LA Fitness is a decent option, the gym is clean, the basic membership fee is fair, and the facilities are quite nice. The staff seem friendly but there appears to be some weird rules from their management that causes many interactions to feel awkward. Plus a lot of attempted upselling. If you lead a self directed workout LA Fitness is a great option for you!

Lots of machines, always in working order; spotless- cleaners are always cleaning; super friendly staff, especially EVAN at the Stony Plain Road location; pool, sauna, whirlpool; huge change rooms; chilled filtered water; airy facility with latest music. The on-line courses are great. This gym is my happy place!

Positive experience: I went to the body workout plus class today with a friend. I really enjoyed it! The mats were pretty nasty so I suggest you bring your own. Otherwise, it seemed clean and staff were friendly.

Negative experience: Wanted to try the free pass to try out their squash court and potentially sign up for a membership and they basically told me to buzz off. Kind of annoying as I am looking for a regular place to play squash and this could have been it, but oh well I'll go elsewhere.

Negative experience: Honestly this gym was excellent at the start but about 6 months before the pandemic hit the gym has just been getting worse. There were dumbbells' stolen and management knows who did it during the first lockdown, they still haven't replaced them despite people constantly asking. There is maybe a set or 2 of barbell clamps left in the entire gym, again nobody in management bothers to order replacements. Equipment is broken, barbell pads are either destroyed or stolen, medicine balls have been cracked and discarded and not one piece of equipment has been replaced since they opened. They also have the worst hack squat machine possible. To top it all off nobody up front seems to care and any questions you have just get brushed off as its either too much effort to do anything or they don't want to spend the money. They are all to happy to sign you up for their programs though!

Negative experience: Reasonable price for all that the gym offers. Zumba classes are very fun and well facilitated! Basketball court is always a good time and I've never seen it too busy which is nice. However, customer service and employee presence has been pretty terrible every time I've gone. No one enforced the mask rules that were posted on the walls around the facilities. Not many patrons follow distancing or mask rules. I've noticed many people do not sanitize equipment after themselves and it doesn't appear that the employees do much sanitizing either. Front desk employees seem to spend most of the time talking to each other and ignoring customers or talking to customers like they interrupted/ are an inconvenience. Honestly some of the worst customer service in person and over the phone.
