Positive experience: I've been a member for around a week now and have been loving it so far. as a beginner with gym anxiety, I've felt comfortable and supported at planet fitness. it's usually not very crowded at all which is fantastic. front desk staff are super friendly and helpful! only thing that I would change is the unnecessary abundance of cardio. there are way too many treadmills and it would be game changing if some of that was replaced with a hack squat machine and hip thrust machine.

Fantastic experience: Planet Fitness in North Vancouver is an amazing gym! The space is always clean, well-maintained, and inviting, making it a pleasure to work out here. I have to give a special shoutout to Ms.G, an incredibly friendly professional. She went above and beyond to help me with all my questions and made my first experience at the gym so easy and welcoming. She’s the best—don’t hesitate to ask her anything; she’s truly there to help! I’m really happy I decided to start my fitness journey here. The only downside is they don’t have the option to pay everything upfront with a credit card, but they do offer convenient monthly payment options. Overall, I’m excited to keep coming back! Highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area.

Negative experience: I’m a personal trainer and wanted to train some clients at this center. Before I signed up, I had a clear conversation with the manager, who approved that as long as I wasn’t getting clients from the gym floor and not receiving money at the gym, I could bring my clients there. All my clients registered there, but after a while, they asked me to pretend to work out with them, which is not in line with my professional standards. A few days later, I was informed that the manager wanted to talk to me. I approached the front desk twice, but he didn’t show up. Then, one of the staff members spoke to me and mentioned I can’t train clients there, I explained that I got permission before I started but he continued talking to me in a very rude manner. He told me this was a new policy for everyone, but there were other trainers at that exact moment on the floor working with clients, and did nothing, he pretended he saw nothing . He was lying to my face, and I pointed that out to him. I thought Canada was about honesty and integrity, but this experience proved me wrong. It’s my social responsibility to share my experience. They treated me unfairly and rudely, and I was very disappointed. ---

Negative experience: I am trying to cancel my member ship almost 3 months snd still can not!!!! Sending 3 emails! Calling 2 times and they still chard my credit card!!!

Negative experience: When I started my membership, the gym was open 24/7. However, for the past year and a half, it hasn’t been open 24/7 anymore. The gym operates based on the management’s convenience rather than accommodating its members. It never opens on holidays but still charges for those days. Recently, I went to cancel my membership, and they told me they would charge me for the next month as well because I didn’t notify them at least 7 days in advance. Keep in mind, I’ve been paying the membership fees for the past year without using the gym even once, and they’ve shown no consideration for my loyalty as a member. This is just very poor customer service.

Negative experience: I’ve been going to planet fitness locations for years now and had been using the North Van location for almost 2 years. I unfortunately felt I had no other choice but to cancel last month, because of another member who displayed inappropriate behaviour towards myself and other women on multiple occasions. I had spoken with 3 different staff members multiple times. One being the assistant manager as well as the manager. I had been assured the situation would be handled, so I kept going there. After trying to avoid the patron and attempting to plan around his visits, I decided it wasn’t worth it anymore as he always seemed to be there when I was there and would stay for hours… It couldn’t be more clear that this patron is not there to be genuinely bettering themselves & working out, but rather to creep on the young women there. I mentioned my frustration to a few different friends who also attend this gym and without even describing the person, they knew exactly who I was talking about. If that’s not a massive red flag I don’t know what is. Even the staff member I originally brought it up to said they’ve had more than one person complain about him before. I actually loved this location overall though. The equipment is well maintained, staff is nice, facility is clean, and the hydromassage was a great reward after a good workout. I really wished there was a women’s only section, then I wouldn’t have felt so anxious trying to complete my workouts. I even went out one day and purchased the baggiest gym clothes hoping it would make me feel like he was staring less, but I still felt very uncomfortable and would often leave early & feeling so anxious that I’d lose my appetite for hours afterwards. One day last month I just decided it wasn’t worth the struggle anymore and asked to cancel my membership. Diego was kind to me and cancelled it right away. I appreciated that, though I felt a bit let down that no real action had been taken. He told me he would follow up in a few days and I’ve still not received a call - leading me to believe that this person has still not been spoken to, and that just leaves me feeling sick to my stomach. I’ve worked at multiple rec centres/gyms for over 7 years now, and issues with patrons displaying grotesque behaviour towards younger women is unfortunately not new to me. I understand it’s uncomfortable to deal with these situations, but not having the back up/support I was basically begging for definitely didn’t make me feel like I was in on the planet fitness inclusivity model. Be careful ladies. :(

Positive experience: I live 10-15 mins away from that gym. The staff is amazing they’re very nice. It’s always clean and well maintained. The only thing that I’m not big fan of it now that they’re not actually 24/7… very unfortunate, many times I find myself could go later in the evening in the weekends and every time they close quite early. Negative experience: The planet fitness is not for body building at all. It lacks some essential body building equipment such as squat rack and hamstring curl machine.

Positive experience: It was ok. Massage chair was very different from the Okanagan. Didn't like that too much. Shower was easier to use than what I'm used to. Staff was very friendly and showed me around

Negative experience: Have been a member for many years and recently they changed the hour. They open 6am on Friday and weekend, which is okay. However, the morning staff let a man in before 6 while locking other people outside, this is unfair and ridiculous. It happened many times, hopefully management can pay attention to this issue and be fair to everyone

Fantastic experience: What I like most about my Planet Fitness experience is the welcoming and non-intimidating atmosphere. The "Judgement Free Zone" really makes it comfortable to work out, regardless of fitness level. The affordability is another major plus, making it accessible without breaking the bank. Plus, the variety of equipment ensures I can get a well-rounded workout, and the 24/7 access fits perfectly with my schedule. Overall, it's a great place to stay consistent with my fitness routine!

Fantastic experience: I only have positive things to say about my location. The staff is so friendly and the other members are great. It’s the cleanest gym I’ve ever been to and the machines are well maintained. Emma is a fav staff member because she’s so happy and welcoming all the time.

Negative experience: I tried to cancel my membership and they said you had to do in person and they charged me 50 dollars for that month which I let happen as they said I could come in and cancel it before the next charge date within two weeks. I came in and talked to them about how I was charged an extra 50 dollars and need it cancelled now as I was told if I came in anytime before September 17th I would be fine. They charged me another 50 dollars and told me that there is absolutely nothing they can do even though it was their employee that messed up. Took 100 dollars from me and had no sort of policy set up for this. Wont go back as their policy scams people into paying more by tricking them.

Negative experience: I am a member at your North Vancouver location and my cardio session was interrupted by toxic fumes. I was on a treadmill and directly behind me maintenance was being done a treadmill with TRI-FLOW Superior Lubricant with Teflon. The odour was so strong it caused me concern considering I was breathing heavy well into my cardio workout. I came home to look up the MSDS to find INHALATION: Irritation of the upper respiratory system. May cause nervous system depression. Extreme exposure may result in unconsciousness. I would think a corporation as large as Planet Fitness would have better protocols in place to protect their customers such as blocking off the area while this product is in use. I sent this to the Regional Manager and have not received a response. I have a history of respiratory issues and live as much of a non-toxic life possible

Negative experience: This gym charged me for two years after I cancelled. They will not refund me, they are scammers do not go here!

Negative experience: They did not open until 8am on a weekend morning, without reason.

Negative experience: 2 stars for just being here for travelers to shower The reason for 2 stars, some of the dirtiest showers I've ever seen at a planet fitness, as well as hot being cold and cold being hot on the knob. Also 2 stars for the check in younger lady staring at us during checking without saying a word with a slightly irritated vibe on her face. Bad vibes. Seems like this place might need a staff revamp Wifi pretty slow (might be because it is a Saturday)

Fantastic experience: Clean gym , nice equipment, nice staff

Negative experience: “I went for a trial for few days and what made me decide not to sign up was that they only had 2 weights of 5 pounds and 3 pounds. Since I work with weights a lot, I had to wait about half an hour for my turn. I mentioned this to the person in charge on the first day, but when I went back twice more, the problem was still the same. So, I went somewhere else! How can a gym of this size not have weights?”

Negative experience: My wife and I recently took a tour of the gym and decided to sign up. It was a great tour with a really nice staff member. We brought our 3-month-old baby with us in a stroller and walked around with him and a staff member who walked us through everything. The facility was clean and well-maintained. A few days later, We had a good workout while our baby slept peacefully in the stroller. However, as we were leaving, we were approached by an employee named Prince, who was a Shift Leader. Unfortunately, he was difficult to understand, and there was some confusion. He initially told us that our child needed to be attended to in the gym, which puzzled us because our baby was with us the whole time and did not cry, he just slept. Eventually, we realized that he meant strollers weren't allowed in the gym and that our child should stay in the lobby. This surprised us since no one mentioned this rule during our tour, In hindsight, we should have asked even though we had the stroller with us as we walked though the gym. While we understood that there might be liability concerns, this is where our experience went from positive to negative. We informed Prince that we would need to cancel our membership since my wife and I wanted to go together, but he insisted we would still be charged for the entire month, plus a $50 annual fee, even though we had only been there for 45 minutes. I explained that the rule about strollers should have been communicated to us during the tour, and I didn't think it was fair to be charged an annual fee. His response was that "it’s common sense that you can't bring a stroller to a gym" and even said, "Who brings their kids to the gym?". My only gym experence was a private gym with a trainer where it was not an issue. Our reply was, "Parents with a newborn who just want to work out." It’s worth noting that our baby is only 3 months old and sleeps most of the day, not a toddler playing. So much for a "Judgment Free Zone." The conversation went back and forth, and in the end, I contacted my bank to stop the payment. So far, I'm only out $1, but we'll see if it sticks. It's disappointing because if Prince had handled the situation better, we might have found a way to make it work, like taking turns working out. Aside from this one judgmental employee, we had a positive experience. If you are a parent beware, you will be judged by prince at the judgment free zone.

Positive experience: Weird gym. Free weights don't go above 60lbs. No proper benchpresses and no long bars to deadlift with. Also way too many useless treadmills and cardio machines. Obviously designed by an amateur. Some businessman who just wants to sit home and make money and never seen a weight lol

Fantastic experience: I recently visited the Planet Fitness in this location in Vancouver during my business trip, and I must say it was a fantastic experience! The crew was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their “judgment-free” atmosphere made me feel comfortable, and having a black card membership was a definite plus. The facilities were clean, and there was plenty of equipment available. And most of all, my favourite part, the hyrdoooo massage!!

Fantastic experience: I had great experiences with Planet Fitness. The employees were friendly and helpful with exercises right from the start, which made it easy for me to manage my weight joyfully. Unfortunately, I had to move to another city, so I can no longer go to Planet Fitness. However, if there is a location near my new house, I will definitely sign up again.

Fantastic experience: Planet fitness has great ambient air flow it's spacious never overcrowded always quiet no cell phone has baggers it's bright fun to be at and there's no self righteous judgemental attitudes

Negative experience: I get it, you want people to leave at 10pm. But don't be screeching ear-piercingly loud WW2 alarms non-stop and shutting off the bathroom lights at 10pm sharp. Allow your loyal customers a few minutes of grace to leave the facility. People will get hurt in the bathroom, and persons with medical conditions will panic from the those loud alarms that you're playing non-stop. This isn't a playground, take it seriously. I could tell just by first coming-in today that the staff looked tired, but that's no excuse for this horrendous strategy, which is basically indirectly attacking your customers. Are you trying to make us go deaf and become dizzy? Are you trying to make us fall in the bathrooms? *Ask yourselves these questions, otherwise everything you advertise about providing a safe place is completely false.* I signed up literally one week ago and I was exceptionally happy with the facility at first, however this is a huge red flag filled with ignorance. If this method is used one more time I shall be canceling my membership without an ounce of sympathy for your team who came up with this ingenious idea. Edit: I just want to add - during this ordeal I could also see the female staff swinging her arms forward at people and indicating for everyone to hurry up and leave, while the male staff was loudly shouting: "you need to leave, you need to leave!". I've never in all my years of experience using gyms across Canada, seen such lazy and unappreciative behavior towards customers. How about, instead of having an entire team of 3 staff all sitting behind the counter doing nothing other than playing ear-piercingly loud alarms, perhaps they can go around organizing the equipment for 5-10 minutes while people are leaving? You know, like every other gym out there? This would work much better in your favor if you want to retain loyal clients. I mean I got years of experience in the retention business, and this isn't the smart way to do it, I'll tell you right now.

Negative experience: I opted out of joining. They will not provide a private space for women to change in and have no plans to provide an alternative change room for trans persons. My comfort zone felt unsafe and disrespected in the face of being politically correct. No thank you.

Fantastic experience: Good gym, great staff. Really helpful and positive staff as well as many of the people there working out. I’ve never had trouble getting on a cardio machine, regardless of hours. Weights are tougher to get on during some of the peak hours, but that’s to be expected. The price is great too. Only complaint is I don’t care for the summer promotion (Planet Fitness promotion across all facilities). In principle it’s a great idea, however the staff seem to be stretched to their limits as they need to do their jobs while also babysitting some of the lesser well-behaved free memberships, but I’ll give them credit for doing a commendable job with it.

Negative experience: Its for along 3 months that Im not going to this disgusting gym, 3 months ago I called them and asked for canceling the subscription, and they told me that we cancelled your subscription and it’s all done and it is not going to cost you anymore. But in a month after, they’ve been cost me again in the same exact date in the month, I called them and I said didn’t you told me that my subscription is already cancelled? So why is it costing me again? And they said we are so sorry for this issue but it is already cancelled, I said I want to refund ut hut they rudely didn’t refund it. And now after three months it is costing me again, and I finally supposed to dispute this dumb thing from my banking account. These charges are unfair, and these things they are doing is scam. I didn’t see any gyms doing like that and I’d rather to go to other gyms instead of going to this gym for just scamming me through their sensitive conversation…!

Negative experience: The gym is a nice gym but they say in a contract NO PERSONAL TRAINERS unless planet fitness trainer. They is a bunch of non staff trainers who glare at you and make it very uncomfortable at times and don’t respect your personal space. Also this is not a body building gym but the energy they give off is very uncomfortable for a no critic zone known gym! I have asked the management and regional manager and they just ignore these comments. So change the policy and don’t have this as your standard! Lots of people feel very uncomfortable and this needs to be addressed

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love my experience at Planet Fitness in North Vancouver! The equipment is always spotless and well-maintained. The staff are incredibly friendly and always on hand to help. There's plenty of space and a great selection of machines, so I never have trouble getting my workout done. It does get a bit crowded between 5:30-7:30 PM on weekdays, but it’s manageable. Overall, no complaints here—highly recommend!

Negative experience: I was in PLANET FITNESS today and was beyond UNCOMFORTABLE because there was a MALE IN MY THE FEMALE CHANGE ROOM AS I TRIED TO GET NAKED??!! I was SO SHOCKED, CRYING, SHAKING, VERY UPSET AND I GO TO FRONT DESK TO TELL THE STAFF TO GET HIM REMOVED AND I WAS TOLD THAT MEN ARE ALLOWED IN THE WOMANS CHANGE ROOM NOW AND THEY CANCELED NY MEMBERSHIP RIGHT ON SPOT FOR SPEAKING UP??!!! am sooooo disgusted I actually just BARFED. I have been going there for TEN YEARS and NEVER ONCE HAVE MALES BEEN ALLOWED IN THE FEMALE CHANGE ROOM!??! So be VERY VERY CAREFUL GOING HERE LADIES AS MEN ARE ALLOWED IN WOMANS CHANGE-ROOM AS THEY JUST CLAIM TRANS WHEN THEY are really men who want to STARE AT US YOUNG BEAUTIFUL WOMAN! I CANT even believe you guys would treat A WOMAN WHO WAS CLEARLY UNCOMFORTABLE BY MALE GEN.itals AROUND HER BY CANCELLING HER MEMBERSHIP !!??? I’ll never be back ! Also research trans in fitness planet and you will see ALL REPORTS!

Fantastic experience: I enjoy Planet Fitness in New West and North Van, the latter being better access due to less people. The equipment and machines are impeccable. The staff are friendly and the change/washrooms are great. My buddy and I killed it at the one in North Van last week.

Fantastic experience: Really like the circuit training area to get in and out fast while still doing a full body workout. Love that the staff is friendly and people aren't tying up 3 machines at a time so they can get their sets in without sharing. Everyone has been really good about that so far (in my experience). Love the flexible hours for both the earlybirds and the night owls. Very clean and good variety of both cardio and weight training equipment

Fantastic experience: I am someone who has always strayed away from going to a gym, the judgement from other gym users can stress me out and overwhelm me plus not knowing what to do or start with. Planet fitness lets me know with the crowd meter how busy it is for peace of mind, provides plenty of space to work out on your own so you don’t feel trapped. Lots of great benefits and honestly, really has helped me build my confidence going there. The black card is worth the 30$ and I cannot complain. Few of the staff are great and helpful, but some are a bit to themselves not extremely friendly when you walk in, not a deal breaker but just something to know is all. Happy with my experience with PF, Thank you!

Positive experience: Firstly Garrett was exceptional. He was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable when we were signing up. He even told us about the refer a friend scheme too. The gym itself is very good, although just some minor points about the layout and equipment meaning I couldn't give 5 stars. There is (in my opinion) too much emphasis on cardio machines, many of which are not used and to me that feels like a wasted space opportunity. That leads on to the second point which is the lack of space for more functional movement. All this being said, the gym is very well equipped, with all the machines most people could ask for. It's just a slight shame about the layout. This gym is certainly worth joining, especially for the price.

Negative experience: Not a good looking avoid going there, I bought a brand new jacket went missing from locker. The stuff did not even care about it. Did not even look at the footage for me. Not a good experience at all. Go somewhere else.

Negative experience: Too busy, minimal parking, no pool, no hot tub, no sauna, no steam room

Negative experience: The staff at this gym are a joke. Constantly harassing me as I’m minding my own business for things that do not affect anyone. I have never once had a problem with anyone at any other gym. But they made my experience terrible. The dorky assistant manager (who looks like he’s never lifted a dumbbell in his life) and the black manager are so useless that they want to power trip on customers and bother them for no reason. I was following a long a mobility warmup video very quietly with no one else in the room with my friend, and I was approached to turn it off. And then approached again 5 mins later as I was warming up without my shoes on (as I usually do to mobilize my ankles/feet) and told I had to leave the gym if I didn’t have proper shoes. Again, minding my own business. Aside from that, the dumbbells max out at 60 pounds and there’s no proper squat / bench press that isn’t a smithe machine. They hire terrible staff that clearly have no place in the fitness industry. At least hire an assistant manager who actually looks fit, not some nerdy virgin who looks like he hasn’t ever worked out in his life. This gym is low budget and it’s clear they can’t even provide good equipment. WORST GYM EVER!!!

Fantastic experience: Appreciate the cleaningness and how well kept this location is. Staff work hard to follow the standard of sanitation. Members are constantly reminded to follow hygiene protocol as well - which is nice. Thank you.

Positive experience: Clean and equipped. no need to wait for anything. Although no trainers.

Negative experience: Refused to help cancel my membership. Very bad customer service. Do not recommend!

Negative experience: They sold me on this membership due to the fact that i could use it anywhere and cancel over email. This isn’t true. When trying to cancel after I left the province they told me I had to come in and do it in person or send them a hand written letter which they could receive at any time and no guarantee of how long I would have to continue paying for this membership. I would not have signed up if they had not specifically told me I could email my cancellation. I had told them when I was signing up that I was travelling and wouldn’t be able to come in. They still will not refund me the extra months paid after trying to contact them by phone and email. Shady sales tactic and a money grab. Would not recommend this gym. There’s better options for people who travel a lot.

Negative experience: Dec 20th 2023 7:30pm. 4 staff members sitting behind the counter. Men’s bathroom is a mess. No soap in some of the dispensers. No toilet paper in one of the stalls. Both stalls are dirty anyways. So not using them, anyways.

Negative experience: Great gym unless you want to do sit-up or floor exercises. There's no floor space. There is only enough room for 3 people to lay down mats. If it wasn't for the price, I would leave.

Negative experience: Subject: Extremely Disappointing Experience at Planet Fitness in North Vancouver I regret to say that my experience with Planet Fitness in North Vancouver has been nothing short of disappointing. The level of professionalism exhibited by the staff is severely lacking, and the management's performance falls far below the standards expected of a responsible establishment committed to customer service and ethical business practices. My dissatisfaction stems from a series of issues, most notably concerning the mishandling of our memberships during the pandemic. Despite officially canceling our two black memberships due to the pandemic and relocation, the club continued to charge our credit card for both monthly and annual fees without our consent. This unauthorized action persisted despite numerous attempts to resolve the matter through phone calls and in-person visits to the club. What is particularly disheartening is the club's refusal to acknowledge their mistake and take corrective action. Despite providing evidence of our canceled memberships and engaging in hours of communication with the staff, we were met with a complete lack of accountability. The club not only retained the erroneously charged funds but also failed to extend a simple apology. The manner in which we were treated during this process was not only embarrassing but also remarkably rude. It is my sincere recommendation to the Head office that a thorough evaluation of the club's staff and management be conducted. Politeness and professionalism should be non-negotiable prerequisites for interactions with club members. Training initiatives for the manager are essential to ensure a higher level of professionalism and respect, as opposed to the current trend of arrogance and disappointment. In the interest of maintaining a positive and ethical business image, I hope that these issues are addressed promptly and effectively. A sincere commitment to customer satisfaction and rectifying lapses in business practices would undoubtedly go a long way in improving the overall experience at Planet Fitness in North Vancouver. As a result of these consistently negative experiences, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this location to anyone any longer. The combination of unprofessionalism, poor management, and unethical business practices has left me with a deeply unsatisfactory impression of Planet Fitness in North Vancouver. Negative experience: Very poor management, dishonest, unprofessional and unethical, rude and crooked people. They do false advertising and then charge your credit card for no reasons and with no permission. I won't recommend them to others based on very bad experiences!

Positive experience: Not very busy on a Saturday morning, I was able to find parking easily and added my license plate to their security system so that I would not be towed. Inside, plenty of open machines though there was no one in the "30 minute workout area." After that, a good shower. That was pleasant and I feel much better. And if you're wondering, my home club is in North Carolina and I have a Black Card. It worked just fine here with no issue.

Positive experience: Reasonable price for what you get. Pretty clean. Not the best when it comes to equipment, machines, weights and all but if you are into cardio, there is def enough treadmills,bikes and step masters. I only choose to go to PF as they are open 24/7

Fantastic experience: Parking easy and signs tells you to mention this to the business inside the building. Easy and simple. Friendly staff and clean facility. The shower also was amazing as the pressure was decent and hot water on point.

Positive experience: Decent staff just a lot of cardio machines vs ab area. There's no where to do stretches or sit ups. They should shift that equipment around and put up more mirrors. There's only space for 2 people in the ab area or people are walking around you and basically stepping on ya. Crowd meter can predict 2 people doing sit ups. Would recommend

Positive experience: Planet fitness in North Vancouver is very clean but the only thing is they have way too much cardio and they need more weights for building muscle

Positive experience: Very clean place. I like all the equipment they have to offer but just too big of a crowd for me - obviously that’s peak hour so if you go late at night or early morning it’s perfect. Staff are always so friendly.

Negative experience: I was a member of this gym, and one day in an accident outside the gym, my shoulder fractured, and due to this injury, I called the gym to cancel the membership until it fully recovers, then one week later, I found out that they charged me. Although I followed up, unfortunately, they did not accept me with an excuse, and I do not recommend this gym at all because of the zero customer service score.

Fantastic experience: Overall this location is really great and I enjoyed working out here. You enter The building on the first floor and then go up to the second floor for the gym which it takes up the whole entire space. Everything was spaced out really well but the stretching area definitely was on the smaller side but workable. Also all the equipment was in good condition that I used and everything was clean. The locker rooms and bathrooms were decent as well but definitely in good shape and very clean too. The best thing about this location was the associates and I can't remember his name but one of them was very friendly and helpful the whole entire time I was there. Definitely made my experience more enjoyable. The only downside to this location is parking is on the tight side but not necessarily the fault of the gym.

Positive experience: There has been a drastic improvement of the attitude and behavior of thr staff. I do hope this level of professionalism and service can be maintained? I will monitor for the near future.

Fantastic experience: It is very good place to workout because is very clean and have a good staff and proper workout machines, I also love the purple color of the environment and the brand.
