Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with Fitness World and feel compelled to warn others. I requested to cancel my membership on November 7th, expecting a smooth and fair process. However, they enforced a 30-day cancellation policy, meaning my membership was active until December 6th. Here’s the kicker: they charged me for a full month of membership, even though I only used the gym for one day during that period! This is an extremely unfair and exploitative policy. No gym should charge for an entire month when the member has clearly expressed their intent to leave and barely used the facilities. It feels like a cheap way to squeeze extra money from members rather than offering fair and transparent customer service. If you’re considering signing up here, think twice. Their cancellation strategy is designed to trap you into paying for time you won’t use. There are much better gyms out there with reasonable policies and respect for their members. I absolutely do not recommend Fitness World to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and choose a gym that values its customers.

Negative experience: The location is great, but very crowded and low maintenance. The equipments are old and some machines are out of order. In rush hours I have to wait some considerable time to get a bench and dumbbell.

Negative experience: Chaotic, nothing cleaned up, weights and other equipment all over the place, trying to find specific equipment is hard and staff are unhelpful, I asked where the medicine balls were, the guy looked around, saw one randomly on the floor, said “there”, I said is that all of them? Don’t you have different them in different weights? No, just that one…. I used to go to the one on Cambie, which wasn’t great but miles better than this one

Fantastic experience: Mobin is the best ..I love him. I have personal training sessions with him and i go to his classes. He pays attention to all of his class members and gives instructions. He is amazing.

Negative experience: I recently become a member of the gym but due to personal changes I am not able to go. I tried to cancel my membership and emailed the same person who was very responsive when I registered and they have not bother to reply. Very disappointing to see such an attitude toward clients.

Negative experience: I usually don’t leave negative reviews for any business, but my experience with Fitness World Lonsdale has been exceptionally disappointing, primarily due to their terrible customer service. Because I often travel outside of the province for work, I haven’t been in Vancouver for an extended period, which has made it impossible for me to visit the gym in person to cancel my membership. Despite not stepping foot in their facility for nearly a year, they continued to charge me monthly. I contacted them multiple times, only to be told each time that I had to be there in person to cancel. When I finally requested a refund for my annual membership, they flatly refused. This lack of understanding and support from their staff is frankly a joke. It's disheartening to see a gym prioritize profit over customer care, especially when circumstances beyond my control prevented me from using their services. I would strongly advise potential members to consider other options where customer service is taken seriously.

Negative experience: My wife signed up for the gym to exercise and improve her health. She hired a personal trainer. When she went to the gym, everyone treated her very well. The receptionist showed her around on the day of registration and enrollment. However, due to having a small child at home and unfortunately depression, she could not continue with the plan that she had originally registered. My wife was forced to reduce the plan from three times a week to once a week. All of this was communicated to the gym within 10 days. We were charged an abusive price of one thousand dollars in one month. We have been trying to get this amount back since May 15, 2024. It is absolutely frustrating and revolting to realize that this gym stole our money and shows no sign of professionalism. Managers Aman and Mlad simply refuse to forward communication to any higher level within the gym. I have been to the gym with my wife and separately multiple times and there is no promise of a solution. They just say that the gym does not actually refund money even there are clauses in my contract that mention that I am eligible to have it back. I would like to know how this type of business can continue to operate when they disregard the Consumer Protection Code and the laws of the Province of Colombia and the laws of North Vancouver. If you can, avoid this gym. They are not professionals. They are not serious. Whatever happens, your money will never be returned to you. Still waiting on an answer from Mlad, Aman, and World Fitness. This is still pending.

Fantastic experience: This fitness world location is great. The staff make it a welcoming and safe environment, especially Abrahim. The location gets busy but there are always machines available to use. The middle membership tier allows me to attend fitness classes of which there are plenty, and use their recovery room equipment. The recovery/massage technologies available are phenomenal and I feel like I get a holistic approach at this gym. Also the view is 5 stars, Looking at lions gate bridge and the city from the cardio equipment.

Negative experience: I deeply regret having hired the personal trainer services of this gym because when I had to reduce my frequency from three times a week to once a week, things started to get bad in my relationship with the gym. They no longer treated me cordially and became cold towards me. I tried in every legal, correct and illegal way to get back the money in the amount of one thousand Canadian dollars that I paid to the gym and at no time was I told how it would be resolved and with whom it would be dealt with. I have been fooled since mid-May 15, 2024 and it is a struggle to go to the gym and try to get this money back, even though the gym is making a loophole in its own service provision contract where if the student is not physically able to do physical exercises, they refunded all the money in full. This gym acts in bad faith and with a lack of professionalism. It is very sad, nervous and irritated with this whole matter that unfortunately remains pending and relies on the impunity of this gym and the coexistence of the city hall.

Negative experience: Hello Aman and Andy.. I’m disappointed with the service this morning. The gym is supposed to open at 5 AM, but we’ve been waiting for over 10 minutes, and no one has shown up to open the facility. This isn’t the first time there have been issues.. If your staff is scheduled to open at a certain time, it’s important that they arrive on time, as members rely on these hours. I hope this can be addressed moving forward.

Fantastic experience: I personally love this location. I’ve tried several other gyms, but none compare. After the Granville Signature, this is definitely the best one. The staff is friendly, and you always feel welcome. However, one issue I’ve noticed—and others have commented on as well—is that some members consistently leave weights on the equipment. I feel it’s important to point this out, and management should address it with them.

Negative experience: I attended this gym for the first time on September 29th. There was a deal for a $1 enrollment fee. A young lady assisted me with my application, gave me a tour of the gym, and registered me. Since she said I can’t pay by my phone and I didn't have my credit card with me, she said I could complete the application by providing my card information in my next session. I went back two days later, on October 1st, to add my credit card information. The same lady at the front desk informed me that she couldn't find my application and that it seemed to have been deleted. She said there was nothing I could do and that I would now have to pay a $50 enrollment fee. I asked her how it made sense for me to pay extra because of their system error. After consulting with her colleagues, she explained that the system automatically deletes accounts at the beginning of each month. I questioned why I wasn't informed about this policy on the day I enrolled. She replied that she didn't know about it herself. I couldn't understand why I should be penalized for the staff's lack of knowledge. It's difficult to trust a company whose employees are unable to provide accurate information. For example, if a trainer were to injure a member,I can imagine what they would respond to that. I asked the lady from the front desk to speak to her manager and see if there was a solution. She said she would ask him in person but was sure there was nothing he could do too. I believe that someone should be held responsible for this error. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. It's only been two days since I joined, and I'm already questioning whether I can trust your staff. I hope the business owner will take this matter seriously and find a solution. This incident highlights the importance of clear communication and accurate information from your employees.

Negative experience: I am not happy to leave a 2-star for this location since I do love many staff who work there. Manager and all trainers are professional! There are many good trainers whom you can definitely learn alot from and are very knowledgeable. I truly recommend Sepehr , Sina , Atena , and Mobin. Front desk greeters are also nice except that I feel my activity at the gym (who I speak to, and who I work out with etc. ) has been reported to other unrelated people. By law all people’s privacy must be preserved by staff. It truly disturbs your peace and brings unnecessary stress. I left the location as it is not a right environment - at least for me. As mentioned again I love many staff there and majority of them work hard to maintain a friendly environment but if one or two not do the job right , unfortunately it can affect the whole gym performance. Acting professional and not reporting people’s activity is a must for any business. Hope this review helps the team to learn how to maintain a better/ professional environment for all to come and work out.

Negative experience: I have been requesting a refund since June, and now it has been over 3 months with still no updates. Emails are never responded to in a timely manner, and when I go to the front desk, although they are polite, nothing gets done. They keep passing the responsibility around, and it seems like no one is actually in charge of handling this matter. It’s hard to believe that something like this can happen in Vancouver, Canada, and even harder to believe that they have so many branches operating like this.

Negative experience: Today, I talked to one of the ex-employees. She was waiting to speak to the District manager in regards to her being able to join as member. Apparently, after she quit they banned her from ever joining as member. Fitness world sort your stuff out, such an embarrasment for a company of this size to be doing such a thing.

Negative experience: Gym's good and spacious as itself, however there is lack of staffs specially towards the closing time. There is no one to help out in starting the hydro massage, so whats the point of paying for it, on top of that, when I manage to find someone, he ends up giving me the glare, Come on I'm not asking you to do something out of your jobs scope. So disappointed. With that being said, I'll be downgrading my membership since I'm not being able to utilize what I'm being paid for.

Negative experience: Just moved from Alberta, applied for 3 days free trial. Got approved with manager, came to reception and they didn’t accept Alberta ID. Nobody noticed regarding this policy in email. Just wasted time to get there, payed for parking. Worst service!

Fantastic experience: Once my wife put on that bald cap for the Voldemort role play, I awoke to the shocking realization it had all been a dream- and I was still strapped into the glute bridge machine with a line of 27 gals awaiting my exit. Sorry!

Negative experience: I have had many negative experiences here lately...even the fitness class instructors shake their heads...last week the sound for the spin class not working..the guys at the front desk just shrug their shoulders...no one cares anymore..very disapointing..

Negative experience: Often no staff able to offer any assistance, but always yapping to each other when wipes are out, or something needs attention. Can’t believe they don’t have ankle straps for kick backs. Every gym does. Been a member for over 20 years. In the old days trainers used to walk around, and actually talk to clients. While working out they’d check your form, ask questions about goals, give directions, and encourage you. Those were the best trainers.

Negative experience: The worst place you could have an account! They are fraud! I wanted to cancel my EXPIRED account and they charge me another $20 something for that! Unbelievable. NEVER GO to this place

Negative experience: Been going to this gym for 4+ years. Had a very poor experience with someone named Aman, and I cancelled membership on the spot. Was very rude and condescending, no respect for me as a customer whatsoever. I would not recommend this gym to anyone I know.

Negative experience: I have had a terrible experience at this facility where people don’t clean up after they are done with their workout, I have attended to other gyms and how the environment is in their facility, which made me think of canceling my membership due to the environment inside the gym where they charge you yearly for maintenance but you can still find Steve Nash signs which can only mean the maintenance is just an up-charge over no improvements in the gym. I was informed that it’s the policy for some members to give a 30 days advance notice upon my cancellation, staff are only nice and care about closing a membership, but when it comes a to cancellation they are not trained properly to communicate the rules upon signing up, and all they can say is “sorry, the person that signed you up should have informed you!” When it comes to client’s inconvenience. I am not surprised to see how many people are canceling their membership at Fitness World!

Negative experience: The staff here are rude and unskilled, creating a negative atmosphere. A specific staff member was extremely impolite when I mistakenly referred to a massage bed as a chair. A manager apologized for this staff’s arrogance. I hope this unhappy individual, who seems to enjoy ruining others’ days, is appropriately dealt with. Truly, it sucks to suck!

Positive experience: I’ve been a member since the opening of Steve Nash Fitness World rebranded to Fitness World in North Vancouver location. Fitness World used to be my second home- a convenient and relaxing place for self- care. However, recent changes have left me disappointed. It now feels more corporate and less caring. I did my part to let staff know about some issues but no positive outcome so far. I hope Andy, Aman or someone responsible will take my feedback into consideration for the benefit of the gym, members and the community. Here are some specific concerns: 1. Crowded Gym: gym has become significantly more crowded, affecting the overall experience. 2. Lack of Wipe, Ionized Wipe Holders and lack of soap/ paper towel in washrooms and lack of overall hygiene 3. Lack of Proper Etiquettes: you can feel and experience lack of etiquette in group classes, recovery room, and throughout the gym. While latecomers to group classes can be very disruptive, they are usually welcome and make others uncomfortable. Some others are attending classes even without registration. The recovery room lacks proper etiquette. It should be a peaceful space before or after workouts, but people use it for phone calls, and loud and unpleasant conversations 4. Overcrowded Group Classes: the group classes often exceed capacity, leading to disruptive and rude behaviour. 5. Group class Registration: the process for online registration for group classes has worsened, with booking filling up within seconds. However, some participants seem to register before official registration opens which is not fair to others. 6. Front Desk Staff: Some of the front desk staff lack care and welcoming attitudes. Waiting times for questions or requests can be frustrating. Even sometime there is no one at the front desk for support. The rest of front desk staff are wonderful especially Mahzad, and Lipe. 7. Equipment Cleanup: Some members irresponsibly leave weights and other used items, posing a danger as well as discomfort to others. And most of the time, not cleaning up after using the equipment. Due to some of these issues, most of my friends, and colleagues canceled their membership and some others ( including me) are thinking to cancel it which is very unfortunate. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously for the benefit of the community. And I hope I get back with a five-star review soon!

Positive experience: Affordable price and relatively good environment, but very poor cleanliness and hygiene. With proper cleaning once a month, it could become a much cleaner environment, suitable for exercising.

Negative experience: I used to attend this gym, The front desk staff has always been nice and friendly so I have no complains about them and sorry if this review affectes them as well. For personal reasons I had to leave here and go back to Mexico, so that meant cancelling my membership last minute, i have been attending the gym for over two years, and once I had to leave there manamegent won't even try to help me, I have been sending emails, I called them and spoke with member of the staff and I was told they would freeze my account, they never did, and the charges just keep increasing, they won't reply to my emails and won't do anything to help me cancel the service that I CANT use anymore, a really unhelpful and incredibly unfriendly manamegent, Milad is the one that first replied to my emails but he decided to ignore the next emails and just not give or provide any help. Definitely I don't recommend coming to this gym or any fitness world. I wish I was there to start a legal process against them but I just can't.
Negative experience: I’m a newish member. Still figuring it out, but I did not like that the gym was so busy, with no system for using machines and moving on. People were just hogging the equipment. Also, the policy is to wipe machines before and after use, and nobody was doing that. Fitness World needs to improve these things.
Negative experience: Since the covid pandemic and the closing oth their other two gyms in north and west Vancouver this gym has become over crowded and impossible to get a good workout. Music is too loud and the temperature is kept at a toasty 22c. Good if you were to bring a book or take a nap.

Negative experience: I had serious problems with management and the head office. They threaten and harass members. Breach duty of care and cause serious escalations. They fail to adhere to the law and breach their obligations. The head office members caused serious problems. Harassment is ongoing. Harassment was perpetrated by Renee from head office and her colleagues. The behaviour of Renee and her colleagues was malicious and unprofessional. There are serious concerns about their actions that need to be addressed. What is most troubling is that even though I have filed formal complaints against staff, their conduct just keeps getting worse and worse. I have filed complaint against the staff members as well as the head office member but instead of taking the issues seriously they made threats and retaliates in the most unprofessional and childish manner. They made false accusations and caused very dangerous escalations jeopardizing the safety of the members. The branch manager is fully aware of their conduct but has failed to do anything to address the issues. To this day members are at risk or harassment and mistreatment by Fitness World staff members. Members are constantly complaining but nothing is done to ensure their safety and well-being in fact chances are they will get retaliated against if they do voice their concerns. Renee is a dangerous liar and she poses a serious risk to all members. She fabricates lies and falsely accuse innocent members for no legitimate reason. All Fitness World representatives are dangerous liars. One must not take their words at face value. They are also review manipulators. Management was warned multiple times of these important issues but they failed to take matters seriously referring me to the head office. Branch management is also equally irresponsible and indifferent to customer welfare

Negative experience: This gym is terrible! There's no room to move, and when I arrived at 11 am, I couldn't find any available equipment or machines. It's shocking! If you value space, steer clear of this gym. I deeply regret signing up for a membership here. Plus, canceling isn't an option unless you provide proof of moving to another country or pay the remaining balance in full. It's clear they prioritize profits over customer satisfaction. I would have added photos as a proof but feel like someone else's privacy is more important!
Negative experience: Way too crowded in the evenings which is why I decided to end my annual membership. I canceled my membership and they "lost" the cancelation form I signed, and continued to charge me. The staff were helpful, but the manager never responded to help me, therefore I was stuck in limbo. Fortunately my bank sorted it out. Don't bother with this place, there are better gyms a block away.
Negative experience: I wasn’t impressed with my first visit to this gym and shouldn’t have even started. Extremely crowded gym, morning 7am and evening 5to7pm. Staff - don’t even get me started there. Very ignorant, rude like doing you a favour if you ask them a question. It feels like gym with no staff. There are extra fees that I wasn’t aware of, you pay after 2 months for example a maintenance fee of 50$ for equipment that isn’t maintained! Hygiene is the worst there .. and you can’t cancel your membership fyi. My biggest regret in 2023 )

Negative experience: They RAISED their prices stating it’s because they have such high end equipment. 4 out of 5 stair masters ARE NOT WORKING. FOUR! Not only that, but 2-3 are CONSTANTLY not working. This is absolutely ridiculous to raise prices but also to pride yourself on “great equipment” when you don’t even have equipment that works. 1 out of 2 stairclimbers don’t work. “Great equipment”… Multiple machines do not work … “great equipment”. Absolutely horrendous. The fact that you keep increasing pricing (for great equipment when you don’t even have Medicare equipment at best) isn’t even the part that bothers me, the fact that you always have SO MANY (again 4 of 5 stairmasters … and there’s always 2 that don’t work .. ALWAYS) machines and pieces of equipment that you just put on a sign and don’t get fixed is absolutely disgusting. If you’re going to say you have great equipment, I’d recommend first getting equipment that works .. If you want a reliable gym with WORKING equipment, strongly recommend literally any other gym. Even a block away there’s another gym (club 16) - go there. Also, there bathrooms are always disgusting - toilet sprays water, always smells like mould.

Negative experience: Gym is usually pretty well kept and is pretty big. I don’t usually have concerns about it being too busy. The low rating is due my experience when closing my membership. First of all, they make you come into the gym to do this which is incredibly inconvenient. Next, the person who helped me cancel my membership, Morin, was incredibly passive aggressive, rude and pushy trying to convince me over and over again to keep my membership. They also charge you for yet another 30 days after you cancel your membership because you cancelling is just “giving notice”. Truly a terrible experience, I won’t be back.
Positive experience: Updating my review after sometime. The matience and women's washroom has gotten better. My only complaint is that after 5 the gym gets super busy and really hard to get to all the machines you want to do. I want to also thank Abe, Mobin and the Spanish fello at the front desk(sorry I can't remember his name) but those three are the only ones that take the time to welcome me to the gym, encourage me and say goodbye and make the experience worth while.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I are members of Fitness World North Van for a few years now. Convenient located, equipped with all you need with an affordable price. On the front desk, you will find Lipe - he is great, always on a good mood and ready to help; offering a A+ customer experience everyday.
Negative experience: I was a member at Fitness World for over 2 years, actively working out. However, due to the gym accepting more members than its capacity, making it very difficult to complete a session, I stopped going. Due to my work schedule preventing me from visiting the gym to cancel my membership, I got charged the annual fee in January(since i had an active membership at the time.) I contacted the District Manager, Andy Cross, requesting a reimbursement, only for the annual fee, and membership cancellation due to non-use for over a year. He declined, citing the membership contract. (Which I understand. I was expecting a gesture of good faith just this once!) When I inquired about further escalation, he asserted his position as the district manager, implying no further recourse. While the annual fee isn't worth much, the handling of the situation seemed very unprofessional. Hoping for improved customer service from the management for their active members.
Negative experience: My experience at this gym has been quite disappointing due to several administrative issues. Initially, when my husband and I registered for our membership, we were not informed about the inability to downgrade our membership until the end of the term. This lack of transparency was further compounded when, after completing our term, we discovered an unexpected $20 fee to downgrade our membership. This fee was not mentioned in our initial agreement and seems to be linked to a policy amendment that we were never asked to agree to or sign off on. Additionally, the process to cancel a membership is confusing and inconsistent with their stated policy. Despite their requirement of one month's notice for cancellation (which I did), my request to cancel was deferred until the end of our term, potentially leading to an unnecessary additional one-month payment. This discrepancy is concerning as it seems to push members into paying for an additional month they may not need or want. Due to these experiences, I find the gym's approach to member policies lacks clarity and fairness, particularly affecting young and inexperienced members. I believe potential members should be aware of these administrative practices. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this gym.
Fantastic experience: One of the few larger-scale gyms in the city that don’t gouge you on fees. They have a variety of high-quality equipment and are open early enough to facilitate my pre-work routine. The staff there are also ultra friendly, with the regular early morning front-desk employee, Felipe, always willing to lend a hand if I need anything. Been a member for a few years and will continue to use this location.

Fantastic experience: The best gym in BC, a complete infrastructure, allowing you to carry out all types of training, whether with free weights, bars or assisted by machines. It is an environment for all types of audiences, young or old, experienced or beginners. I recommend that you visit the one closest to you if you want to start a fitness and healthy life, it's the best you'll find. 10/10.

Negative experience: I am a menber at the north shore location, The gym is nice, but the some staff are so rude, they don’t even say hi or bye they pretend they don’t see you, also the girl from the front desk turn of the lights before 5 min before closing time to rush people to leave, I tripped and hurt my toe, when I passed by her she was laughing about people trying to find the staff in the dark. So rude anyway They should hire more mature and responsible people.

Negative experience: I recently had a disappointing experience at the gym due to the inadequate staff. Negative experience: Videotaping OTHERS must be banned- that is against the law please. My only reason of giving 3 star here is for the help I received from a member who manages the front desk, otherwise it would be 1! I barely ever leave a 2-3 star for anywhere as i like to put positive comments than anything negative for any place! You can check all ratings I have ever given! There are many issues that needs to be addressed unfortunately - and this is one of them. Also don’t get me wrong, I like some people and staff here - the only reason I go to this place is that is close to home and convenient when I come from work. Videotaping others must be done with permission, consent or warning, or when not many are around so people can leave the area or move around easily if they don’t want to appear in it. I understand some may do for many purposes but there are protocols to follow! While a location is full of teens or those who are (maybe) still new understanding certain boundaries and laws in this country, a “sign on a wall” for no camera usage is needed. I had to get into conflict with someone who completely denied I was entirely in his videos ( as I am two inches away from this person at a very busy time and trapped in a barbell station with a tiny mirror in-front , being all video taped while this person decides to do it right behind me). This is wrong! Unfortunately I had to get a member who helped me deleting my videos on the person phone. If there is a sign up on walls I could easily point it out without arguing! Gym should not a be a place that you lose your sanity over protecting your rights and privacy. We come here for mental rejuvenation - and for god sake , that must be respected. Better management and directions must be done please to address this issue. Otherwise we keep leaving the space going to other gyms that respect harassment matters better than this gym , and of course leaving the space open for those who would never learn a lesson and keep doing the same inappropriateness to others. Front staff are working hard to address issues and maintain a safe environment for us but maybe stronger higher management is needed as there are more other issues than what I mentioned above. I ask management team to please take these issues seriously as it’s important for all of us to feel safe and less stressed or vulnerable coming this space. People cannot keep changing places because others are doing things wrong or are not educated enough to follow certain public rules. Thank you for considering.

Negative experience: Always disliked the environment here. Been to many gyms and this is the worst as far as overall atmosphere and vibe. VERY bro'y and feels unwelcoming. Young staff too that don't have great customer service abilities and can be quite rude sometimes.

Negative experience: Some policies for cancellation membership is not realistic. Lets say even if you move 29 km away you can't cancell the membership since it doesnt meet 30 km policy. If fitness world value their customers this number could be modified to something that makes sense. Like 5km. Update: Yes they contacted me and notified me they looked at my new address in google map and its ONLY 13km away. They also suggested I use another gym which is 7km away. No sane person would travel 7 km on a daily basis to use gym facilities. Fix your contract terms.

Negative experience: You have to tell them 30 DAYS before you want to cancel, god forbid something comes up and you need to leave quickly; these guys then conveniently charge you for 3 bi-weekly fees after you have done cancelled. This was months ago, but wanted to make sure to leave a nice 1 star and I pray I don't have to workout here again.

Positive experience: I have been a fitness world member about 6 months. Overall It is a good gym with lots of machines Here are my feedbacks : - this gym is crowded with too many members - sometime machines are out of order for weeks. Staff don’t bother putting an “out of order “sign on machines and members keep using them using their own pads etc.. someone can get hurt See pictures I posted. - sometimes weight and barbells are left on floors for days and no one bothers putting them back it their place . I have seen even trainers leave barbells behind on the floor during training Members can fall over those - your have to constantly remind staff that wipes are finished , staff do not Monitor anything - half of machines don’t have bottle or mobile holder so members put them on the floor during work out - gym hours are limited Members - - about 25 % of members don’t clean The equipments after use. They think their sweat should be considered as holy water by others - some members use 2 or 3 machines simultaneously. That is just bad etiquette considering gym is crowded - some members use the machines as texting stations. Sit on it and just exchange text messages for 10-15 min I hope Managment improve the conditions Best of luck
Negative experience: Very unprofessional staff. The folks at the front are only good to generate negative impact on the business. So,I got a call to setup an appointment to go over what the business is about and help me get setup as a member, as a response to my online membership query. I show up at the business at the time scheduled for me. There were like 3 people at front desk, 1 was caught up with other member answering questions but other two just stood there and saw me standing there but none of them even bother to welcome or say hi. That felt quite rude and disrespectful but I guess thats what their culture is. Anyways, if anyone whos new to area and trying to sign up for gym, please try anytime fitness or Club16. Far better then fitness world. Choose businesses that respect and value you.
Negative experience: Compared to nearby gyms, this place lacks sanitary wipes or spray with towels. Gyms usually have a wipe/spray dispenser every 5m. This gym has 5 for the whole place, and they're not easy to find. I can hardly trust other people to wipe after they use equipment... but if the sanitary measures are not as available, then people can easily pass on fungal infections like ring worm etc It's important to share a clean space. This place is just pretty to look at. Their staff can't even explain the fees if you ask.

Negative experience: I liked using the gym but they forced me to pay for an extra month of membership when I contacted them to cancel my membership. When I asked why, they just said it's the policy even though I'd moved away and my membership was no longer useful for the 1+ month they were going to force me to pay for. Garbage.

Positive experience: The gym is great if you go at the right hours. If not there is a lot of people that do not wear deodorant and smell of b.o. There are people that don’t wear shoes, there are highschool kids that crowd around machines and don’t leave for hours, people working out in the designated stretching and rolling area. The staff doesn’t seem to care and it is kind of a free for all at certain hours.
Negative experience: I gave this gym 5 stars a year ago. Over the past year Ive seen the decline in this gym. There is no guidlines and respect when it comes to using machines. Time and time again you see groups of youth gathered around a machine talking and its become like a playground. Weights are not put back, nor do people offer share machines in between sets. There should be some sort of a set of rules for this as common sense. Parking here has become a joke. Before you could come and go as you pleased up to 6 hours per day. Now they have a new system in place where you can only use the parking once a day for up to 2 hours. I like to have long workouts and sometimes want to go twice a day. I am sure there are many other people who feel the same way. This could simply be solved by giving parking passes or stickers to put on your car window as a permit. The final straw with me is the cleanliness, the staff are generally nice but they pay little or no attention for upkeep. As long as they are getting paid to train someone they don't see it as their responsibility to clean. Why not hire a cleaning person throughtout the day to keep the washrooms and hygenic supplies full and maintained. I do not reccomend this gym anymore unless you live very closeby and have no choice to walk to the gym. When a member needs to address issues and offer solutions this is no longer a well managed company or business because people are not doing their job properly.

Fantastic experience: I have been a regular member for more than a year, Worx classes are usually the best ones, the instructors like Zara, Arman, Aida. Each of them are fabulous in their way of teaching. Zara is so kind, professional and always goes above and beyond, Arman gives effective workout and Aida is very technical instructor. I really appreciate their efforts to have a healthy society.

Negative experience: Dear Fitness World, I am writing in response to your recent communication regarding my negative review and concerns about the services provided at your gym. Firstly, I would like to clarify that my Google name may differ from my legal name, but I assure you that I am the individual who left the initial review. When I joined Fitness World at your North Vancouver location, I explicitly informed your staff about my age and the lower back pain I was experiencing. Following their recommendation, I decided to train with a personal trainer and booked a month's worth of sessions. Unfortunately, instead of experiencing improvement, my back and left arm pain worsened. Upon consulting with my doctor, it was advised that I immediately cease my gym activities and begin physiotherapy. There is even a possibility that I may require surgery to address my condition. Considering the severity of my situation, I wanted to highlight the significant impact this has had on my life. I am a small business owner, and my physical disability and the subsequent six months of physiotherapy on my hand will undoubtedly affect my ability to run my business effectively. This prolonged absence from work and the financial burden it poses on me are additional concerns that have arisen as a result of the injury I sustained at Fitness World. Upon reviewing my contract, I discovered that there are no provisions for terminating the agreement due to medical reasons. This lack of flexibility is concerning, especially considering the worsening of my physical condition. Furthermore, I can't help but feel that the lack of knowledge and understanding of kinesiology and human anatomy among your staff may have contributed to my injury. Presently, I have been charged $1423.72 for personal training sessions that I am unable to attend due to my physical disability. Additionally, you are requesting an additional $350 from me. As a customer, I believe I have the right to appeal this charge and request a refund of the $1423.72 that I paid. It is disheartening that your initial response to my request was a threat to send the fee to collections. This approach not only appears to be an attempt to exploit the situation but also demonstrates a lack of consideration and respect towards your customers. I had hoped that as a corporation operating in Canada, Fitness World would prioritize customer satisfaction and act in a responsible manner. However, the handling of this situation thus far has left me disappointed. I firmly believe that there should be room for compassion and understanding when dealing with customers facing physical disabilities and unforeseen medical circumstances. I kindly request that you review my case once again, taking into account the significant impact this situation has had on my well-being, my ability to run my small business, and the six months of physiotherapy I must undergo for my hand. I urge you to reconsider the charges and promptly refund the $1300 for the personal training sessions that I am unable to utilize due to my physical limitations. It is my sincere hope that we can reach a fair and equitable resolution to this matter. I trust that you will address my concerns and provide a satisfactory response promptly. I am optimistic that Fitness World can rectify this situation in a manner that upholds the values of customer service, fairness, and empathy. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Fantastic experience: Aida has a warm approach and developed very effective cardio and strength-training programs. We enjoy her sessions and are definitely much stronger since we started with her. I highly recommend Aida as a Personal Trainer. You should also try her classes such as cardio/Pilates or Zumba.
