Fantastic experience: I love this gym. It has everything (and more) you would need for a solid workout, but above all else I love the staff. Selena and Khaleed are two people who stand out to me who always go above and beyond to make your exercise and experience as smooth as possible. They are so helpful, so positive, and I always leave feeling great. Give these two a raise!!!!

Positive experience: I’m just trying to find out your exact holiday hours and I’ve tried calling the club over 5 times in the last 48 hours with no answer. Google says open but I don’t want to waste time and energy by showing up and you guys are actually closed. Perhaps the line is down? Pls check your phone system, make sure it’s switched ‘on’ . Negative experience: My wife was repeatedly disrespected and harassed by the same member at this Planet Fitness location on multiple occasions. Despite reporting each incident, the management failed to take any action to address the issue. They justified their inaction by citing blind spots in their security camera coverage, which left them unable to verify the events. This is unacceptable, as adequate security measures should be in place to ensure member safety and comfort. After these recurring incidents and the lack of response, we no longer feel safe or comfortable using this facility, and we’ve decided to switch gyms. I’m sharing our experience to alert others to the ongoing safety and security issues at this location. I sincerely hope Planet Fitness will take this feedback seriously and make changes to create a safer, more respectful environment for everyone.

Negative experience: I had the worst experience since I lived in Canada, and that happened in the facilities of this gym. I have been going to this place very early for a few months, it was last August 17 of this year around 7am, I was with my headphones listening to music and training, a guy with a lot of tattoos on his body started talking to me, I took out my headphones to listen to him, and he started talking. Tell me out loud to stop making so much noise when using the dumbbells because I don't allow him to concentrate on what I told him, or because he doesn't use a hearing aid. At that moment the man got angry and started yelling at me, being victim of verbal aggression in English and Spanish. Immediately scared, I approached for fear of my safety. There were 2 people, a woman and a man, who were in charge. I told them what was happening and that they should call the police. I told them the description of the person who verbally attacked me. It was a man who had many tattoos all over the body, the woman in charge told me no, because when they come they make a mess and no one dared to go. They didn’t know what to do , finally the guy in charge went to talk to him, Then this same young man told me that they would make a report and that I should not invade the space of the person who had attacked me and that he would not invade my space either. Then at the end of my session I went up to ask for the report, and the same lady in charge who had Asian features (I`m sorry I don’t know her name ) she told me that they couldn't give it to me, that in any case I would have to ask the administration. What finally outraged me was the attitude of this woman in charge. She told me that this man had been coming regularly to the gym for more than 2 years and that he was a kind and calm man, that she talked to him, that he admitted raising his voice at me, but he didn’t admit what he said to me before, she said that she had Hispanic friends and that insult could be interpreted in many ways, to which I responded, that I was not going to stop humming my songs because I feel happy and she can't tell me about the context of the insult because I know exactly what it means. With this bad experience, where I felt attacked, it made me feel that I was the aggressor, and the man was a victim. That same day I canceled my subscription.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional gym. Today i went to let my mother try their hydromassage. I have a black card membership and she refused because my mother does not have a membership. I told her she can use my membership because they usually allow it with my friends, but this time this asian lady refused. Very rude. I do not recommend this place.

Positive experience: It is a good gym. Only downsides is that it gets very busy sometimes and it doesn't have regular bench presses.

Positive experience: I used to like this gym, but what were they thinking putting a bunch of machines in the stretching room!!!! The wall still says “stretching” too! can someone please give a rational for this? It was fine how it was.

Negative experience: Gym itself is fine but it is IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND particularly when the mall is not open. There is no signage on how to get to the gym if you want to go to the gym early, etc. The person on the phone tried the best they could to help me find the back entrance of the mall but it is so unintuitive. You think you are in the bowels of Home Depot or in a seedy area where you are not safe. This is made worse because the external elevators don't operate on holidays it seems either. All it takes is some simple waypoints or signage to help folks find their way. We are guests in Toronto so we don't know the area. Spent a good 20 minutes at least walking around the damn area and we almost gave up.

Negative experience: Trained for 1 week here & there’s SO MUCH EMPTY SPACE, they can fill it with MORE variety of machienes or get 3 cable machines or higher free weights, the gym needs a more efficiently spaced LAYOUT. Fire your layout team because this garbage considering you waste so much space on thing people COULD BE using
Fantastic experience: By far in my opinion the best Planet Fitness I've been to. This location has 6 Smith machines, triple the cable equipments, 2 butterfly machines, a glutes machine and machines that other PF dont have. Unfortunately the one I go to near my home doesn't have all the same equipment and just 4 Smith machines. In my location why do we need so much treadmills or elliptical when it's never used to full capacity? It's a waste of space. Kudos to this place for being different.

Positive experience: Overall I really like this Planet Fitness it's my home gym and easily accessible. I have a major concern after a fall I had about month ago in the shower area. After getting out of the shower I slipped and fell and with the aid of another member he was able to help me up. The thing I noticed that would be a safer solution is to have the mats in front of the shower extend to the edge of the locker area. Since wet tiles get slippery, it would make sense for this suggestion.

Fantastic experience: I want to shout out the GM here. Had an issue, but he called, heard me out, and shared what he’d try to do going forward. Thought he was balanced in his take. Appreciate that kind of management to try and understand the customer, as well as lead his staff. He’s new to the location, so for the more negative past reviews, worth knowing there’s a different manager now in 2024. For the human to human reach out, I’m giving the place 5 stars. I just wish they had more weight equipment % on the floor, but that’s not the local mgmt who gets to choose. So hard to knock that.

Fantastic experience: Honestly, it's clean. You get your workout done, and you're out. It's spacious and clean. So you can't complain. I'm happy there are some new machines. If the machine is a ln issue, come at 5 a.m. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Negative experience: I have been going to this gym for about 5 to 6 years and now recently have notice that the long weekend use to be open all weekend to half days to now not even being open and on top of it os open late the next day. This is false advertising that you display and it needs to be fixed pay your staff thats is an absolute joke that you don't even want to pay two ppl. And stop closing down on long weekend no acceptable ut should be ipen at least until 3 pm get your act together totally unacceptable

Fantastic experience: I don’t like the layout of this gym but the employee at the front names Jake and Selena are very down to earth and nice people they are so nice :) so I enjoy that they re helpful addressing some newbie questions

Negative experience: Although this location has great staff (not management) recently with in the last 3 months this location has run out of toilet paper and paper towel. The toilet paper also smells like gasoline (cheap). When discussing with the manager I sent an email, no response. Within the last 5 years it went from 24 hours 7 days a week open on holidays to now not paying their staff overtime and closed on a long weekend Monday and opening up too late on the Tuesdays for people to get here before work. Please fix these issues, ensure that sufficient amount of supplies and pay your staff so we can be open everyday as your ads say, this is false advertisement! Loyally disappointed long term member

Negative experience: lol the worst customer service of all time, if you write review they come to your workplace and complaint. Planet fitness needs to take this concern seriously.
Negative experience: WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ Please guys be aware if they find you out that your payment declined they will find your workplace and come n complain with your manager customer is harassing them. Technically planet fitness associates are the ones who did your workplace harassment.
Negative experience: I went more than 5 planet fitness different locations but in this site I faced a bad situation with cashier gays.
Negative experience: I was charged another month before billing period after two months ago coming in to cancel my account I was told I could put it on hold until my next billing date. I came in five days previous to next billing to be told I was being charged extra month. This is after not using this gym for six months and being charged the annual $50 and multiple times to try to cancel over the phone and not having any luck. It’s been almost 7 months. I’ve been trying to cancel this and I’m getting charged again. . Make sure you review your contract ahead of time cost you a lot of money To get out of your contract. You cannot cancel over the phone or at another location, And you will get charged an additional month.

Negative experience: The staff is completely unprofessional. They don’t know how to talk. Worst gym ever. The assistant manager does not have manners. She doesn’t know how to talk to customers. They don’t refund the customers. They are complete fraud.
Negative experience: ***To reply to the Planet Fitness response*** DID YOU EVEN READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW??? ♂️♂️♂️ The gym was recently updated with some new machines and they are nice. Unfortunately, the layout is absolutely ridiculous! The private stretching room is now a hip flexor room (angled, facing ashore for an awkward moment) & with 1 random leg machine. There’s a new “cartwheel” section??? All the cardio machines are pretty much touching each other, a leg press is front of a mirror that you can’t see. The free weights are jammed in a corner with no mirrors and way too many benches for the space. The machines are also super random and not grouped together by body parts. Feels like who ever delivered the new equipment just dropped and left… maybe their shift was over…? I’ve also been told that the reason why nothing will be changed is because there’s not enough people complaining…. Every member I’ve spoke with, including some of the staff think it’s absolutely ridiculous. Maybe they should ask the members that use everything on a daily basis or put out a survey to see what people actually think. And, not to mention, most of the lockers in the men’s change room are locked up on a daily basis with members that aren’t even there. Good location, good people, good staff, horrible layout, and service.

Positive experience: It has been a great pleasure coming to this gym. It is judgemet free, mentally relaxing, and rejuvenating to work out here. I have found Alexandre and Jamica in executing their responsibilities, to be professional, engaged, and invested in maintaining an atmosphere of cleanliness and comfort while encouraging each member to attain their desired fitness goals. As a result of the atmosphere they cultivate, I actually miss the gym when I am unable to attend. I wish them success and continued progress in operating this gym for the upliftment of the membership.

Fantastic experience: I’ve gone to most of the gyms downtown through the years, and very much enjoying my workouts here. I’ve been going to the Gerrard Square Planet Fitness for about 8 years, the equipment is real good, the gym is kept very clean, and it has a good vibe for working out. For the cost of the black card membership it’s pretty good value. I wish they had cardio classes, but for the cheap monthly membership we pay It’s understandable. The members and staff are all very friendly, Alexandre is a real great guy & gives excellent personal strength training to anyone needing it ! Thank you all for the great service.

Fantastic experience: Alex , John, and Jamica provide exceptional service. I live right at yonge & gerrard but decide to come to the location at Gerrard Sqaure. It’s definitely worth the travel when you have A+ staff at this location who greets, says hi, and very encouraging. I am a lifetime customer and will continue to work out only at planet fitness gerrard Sqaure. Highly hope they get recognize for their hard work.

Negative experience: This new cardio machine are so bad. They bring g those cheap , law quality bikes. So uncomfortable, bring old machine back

Negative experience: New layout and equipment kinda sucks. Everything other than the weights area is now squashed together; they've gone from having 20-odd elliptical machines to a mere six - and the new machines are dreadful. Overbearing digital screen; footholds way too small; feels far less stable than the old machines so probably a safety hazard; pressed right against the machine next to you meaning you're breathing in your neighbour's sweaty air. Poor, poor planning. Whoever concocted the redesign obviously treated cardio users as an afterthought. Will likely be cancelling my membership and finding another gym, which is disappointing after I've been coming here for years.

Negative experience: Super small gym. I was shocked. My first time. U was expecting it to be bigger. The locker room was tiny and equipment in key area like the free weights had no mirrors. Very poor looking gym. Compared to the other city gyms. Pickering, Whitby, oshawa has the best gyms inside. Very disappointed with this facility

Fantastic experience: Tonight, the place was packed, but when I walked into the locker room after training, Tyler (the blond guy) had done an incredible job cleaning. It looks spotless and well-maintained. His dedication is impressive – you should consider hiring more people who care as much about keeping things clean.

Positive experience: The employees at the front desk are so helpful and nice to talk to them. However, I have bad experience with the customer service regarding refunding my annual membership money after I cancelled my membership. How it comes they can’t refunded it because I should cancelled it before November 25th and I actually cancelled it on Nov.30 at the front desk. The front desk employee had not mentioned anything about that. Very disappointed after almost 2 years with them

Positive experience: I’ve been looking for a more local gym so I decided to try out their 24hr free pass. This is what I observed. The good: The staff kept to themselves but were very attentive when I asked them questions. Even putting their phone calls on hold to provide me service. The cleanliness. I don’t think I’ve seen a cleaner gym. Weights were all racked. Surfaces clean; no smells. Variety. Had a decent variety of equipment for an entry level gym goer. 24 hrs! OPEN around the clock. The bad: It was pretty much an oversized hotel gym. Too much cardio equipment taking up space where there could be “good” equipment. No squat racks or barbell bench’s Spatial intelligence lacked. People kept walking into each other. Change rooms- the worst part. Absolutely tiny, with prison like amenities. Conclusion: locally, there are better options available. BUT for the price, and their hours of operation, it could be worth it depending on your circumstances.

Negative experience: Way too many creeps using their cell phones in the changing rooms - including, on several occasions now, one of the gym's own training staff. Sorry, but if people are in any state of undress, you shouldn't be clutching a portable camera device anywhere nearby. Aside from this, the staff range from perfectly pleasant to outright rude. Some will deliberately go out of their way to avoid acknowledging your presence, giving off the impression that you - the customer - are an unwelcome presence and little more than a nuisance that may require them to break eye-contact with their phone screens for a second or two. There's plenty of equipment, but make sure you wipe it down BEFORE you use it, because a big chunk of the clientele here don't possess any kind of basic gym etiquette or hygiene awareness. Cardio is well-catered for, although don't trust the fitness trackers on the machines themselves. They're prone to resetting in the middle of your workout, which is regular annoyance. It's a budget gym and presents somewhat decent value for money, but get ready for the trade off that comes with that.

Fantastic experience: Update: Since the new management has taken over, this Gym has become the very opposite to the last review. The staff are all incredibly kind, helpful, and so pleasant and encouraging. One staff member, always says goodbye while saying “see you tomorrow?” Motivation at its finest. Well Done Planet Fitness Gerrard Square. You have all turned this place into a fun, amazing place to workout. Very wrong in the customer service parts. After getting a black card membership, I was given no tour of gym, nothing about black card benefits. I went to management the next day and was told nothing they could do. Even going as far as to say to me, “what do you want? You want a tour now” Amanda was very rude and was very condescending. Telling me she can’t do anything for me. Don’t tell me to speak to management team, I did and was incredibly disappointed. I may cancel this membership. Based solely on how I was treated by both staff and management

I walk with a cain & am waiting treatment for vascular necrosis & arthritis in my back hip & legs. I am paying twice a month & sometimes also nsf fees thats over a hundred dollars a month. These greedy dishonest actions continue. I have talked to them & still a yr later still charging me even though there were no services ever rendered. Even when there were chances in the beginning.

Positive experience: Amazing staff and very clean. Some male members really smell and I wish there were some more mirrors in the free weight section. Other than that it’s always a great workout for the price and the fact it’s often on the empty side.

Negative experience: Gym usually always Almost empty not really crowded But sadly they don’t accept debit cards which I find ridiculous And dense Ash like what about older teens or young adults whom don’t carry credit cards what about people who live on social assistance but is not able to use or get credit cards so they only have their bank cards and it’s weird why you need folks bank transit number but won’t take debit/bank card yeah now I see why GoodLife is better Hunt the name lol I’m not wasting my time here As a teen who just finish school n did love join gym but doesn’t have credit card is waste of time

Positive experience: The gym is nice and big. A lot of equipments and machines to make sure you don't have to wait. However, they lack some basic needs which is customer service. I have recently joined and was finding hard to understand how does a seat is adjusted in one of their machine and the staff was unable to help and said there's no one who can help me out here. Similar tuing happened with the weight machine. They dony have a digital one and the staff don't know how to use the one thats there.

Positive experience: Decent gym but the ratio of cardio to weight equipment is not reflective of demand. Most cardio equipment is always unused while weight equipment is taken. Also, men's change room always smells - poor ventilation .

Fantastic experience: Great place to get your individual workout in! I usually come around 3 times a week with my mom to get a good split of cardio and weight machines. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the space is always clean and cool (like almost chilly). Once you set up a regular routine, you’ll start to see familiar faces throughout the week. I never actually talk to anyone, but it’s nice to see the same people consistently. With the Black Card you can also bring a friend and use their “spa” services. I personally recommend the waterBED! Have fun working out!

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience at Planet Fitness Gym @1000 Gerrard Street East location. The gym was clean and well organized. The kindness and helpfulness of the front desk staff truly stood out and contributed to making my time at the gym truly valuable. They were always available to answer any of my questions. Their helpfulness made me feel at home and comfortable working out there. Gym is equipped with Red Light therapy and Hydro Massage therapy it made a big difference in my healing and performance journey. I give Planet Fitness five stars and looking forward to returning there again!

Negative experience: I had to cancel my membership due to a physical injury. When I went in the two employees that were bothered by me interrupting their personal conversation went on to tell me that I didn’t have a membership to cancel in the first place. Told me I must have signed up under someone else’s info - I had been going to the gym for a year at this point and 6 month prior to that as a guest with my boyfriend. They told me to put a stop payment on any money because according to them I didn’t have a membership. Meanwhile, I have been paying my membership every month and have my own bar code and membership account - I even know exactly who signed me up. I told them this info and they said “sorry no, you don’t have a membership” Nothing like being gaslit by two lazy, rude, employees that obviously have no idea how to do their job. I’ve been to other locations that are alright but this one is absolutely terrible - don’t waste your time or money.

Positive experience: I feel like now that I have been a member of PF for almost 2 years, I can accurately rate this location. I travel often, so I've experienced plenty of PF locations. The staff here are great! They're friendly, willing to help, don't make you feel awkward, and they keep the gym extremely clean. However, THIS gym is way too small! I heavily appreciate the new machines you're adding, but it's CRAMPED! There's virtually 0 room for any aerobic anything or full stretching/yoga. The machines are literally a foot apart and try not to get hit by anyone doing flies or cable anything! The new free weight section is now better located but 0 mirrors, and you better not need 4 ft of space because there is none to have! I love that you added a full glute section in a seemingly private space, but again, it's stuffed in that corner. I see what you're doing, but the gym's open layout is surpassing its square footage..

Negative experience: If you're there for treadmills, it's probably fine if you don't mind all the creepy staring that happens when you walk down any of the aisles, but any other fitness equipment is typically too busy without having to wait and hover for a machine during semi-peak hours. Worst thing is that they make cancellation such a hassle. You can't cancel over the phone, and you can't cancel over email. You can only cancel by going into the location, or by mailing them a letter. Yes. A letter. In 2023. Their business strategy is built on creating an environment where they can sign a ton of people up at cheaper prices, knowing that they likely won't use it anyway.

Fantastic experience: Staff are EXTREMELY nice here! It's the first PF I've joined but it's been exactly what I need. Even when it's busy you can use most of the equipment, the only downside I've found is that the dumbbells are across from the squat racks and the changerooms definitely smell sweaty, but great otherwise

Negative experience: I went to planet fitness the other day using my friends guess pass. My friend wasn’t there and I genuinely did not know they had to attend the gym with me to use the pass, as this is the first time I have been called out for it. I was put on the spot and wanted to explain but the staff came off as rude about the situation. I know they were just doing they’re job but I just don’t think people should be treated that way and don’t appreciate how they handled the situation . It was just a misunderstanding.

Negative experience: This gym really puts the planet fitness reputation down. I’ve been a black card member for years and usually love the gym, been to multiple location a in the gta. This gym however was so dirty and it smelt so bad I had to leave half way through my workout (yes I kept checking to make sure it wasn’t me)

Fantastic experience: Zero complaints. Super clean. All the gym goers are pretty respectful. Most machines are up and running it’s rare to see one out of service. The general vibe here is great. Even during peak hours it’s not that packed. I can’t believe some of the bad reviews left there’s literally nothing to complain about. Loads of weights. Loads of machines. There’s something for everyone.

Negative experience: Very poor customer service first I called them before time to cancel my membership and they cancelled last year but now they said It has to be in person. I asked them to place a hold on membership they said it has to be done one week in advance. Thats customer service is not acceptable. They are just stealing money. Never go to planet fitness again and I will recommend the same thing to everybody.

Positive experience: Great gym for a price that can't be beat... As long as you can get past the no barbells and lunk alarm lol Edit: Unfortunately dropped to 3 stars. Over the last couple months, the upkeep of the Men's bathroom is progressively getting worse and worse. Why do I need to clean off the toilet every time I use it, and hope one of the stalls has toilet paper? The showers always have some sort of garbage on the floor of them... Not impressed. Hope this changes.

Fantastic experience: This is my favourite PF location to go to. It’s large and spacious and has lots of equipment. The staff is also super friendly and helpful. For the most part, everyone upholds the standards of keeping it safe by sanitizing the equipment after each use. The only downside is that there’s a lot of old people who frequent this location and have really bad attitudes. I won’t take a star off of my review because it doesn’t necessarily reflect my review of this location/staff. But do expect the elderly to very rudely and aggressively kick you off machines/benches. (Sorry for resting in between my sets… Karen)

Positive experience: This is one of the better planet fitness locations I’ve been too, it’s very clean and spacious! I have 4 stars because it’s hard to find when the mall is closed (there’s no arrows). You turn at Marjory street and use the underground beside Home Depot, take the elevator to P3 and walk across into the mall! It took me 40 minutes yesterday, there should definitely be some guidance.

Negative experience: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU GIVE YOUR CREDITCARD OR DEBIT CARD INFO AT THIS LOCATION I cancelled my membership on August 17 2021 but they still took money out of my account on September 17 October 1 annual fee and oct 17 Nov Dec Feb March and April 2022. i went in spoke to reagan and she was like we will contact HQ and 2 weeks later no response. Raegan said she can only give 3 months of refund not the rest . I still have no refund given to me at all. Raegan assistant manager and the general manager both refuse to give me full refund. They take your debit card and with out knowing and your consent they take money out of your account. I am planning on taking them to smalll claim court for money they owe me unnecessary time off from work and stress and the court fees and more.
